One of the best mess in Chennai serving authentic south Indian food. This is my 3rd time visiting this place. My favourites are their masala kalaki, idli/chutney, biryani and vanjaram fry.. Food is priced reasonable.. Cheap and best place to eat great food..

Amala mess!! It’s been in Anna Nagar and must try spots over a decade. Most of us have visited this place countless times and it’s still one of the best places for their chettinad style and also their biriyani. My personal fav is their parotta with Amala chettinad chicken masala and their kalaki as well 🥹🤤

Taste wise this chettinad mess has to improve a lot.Particularly briyani even though they are less oily the taste is not good enough due to the usage of Badmathi rice instead of jeeraga samba rice.

Don't believe the Food review given in social medias, Food taste is not to the said level , Poor service , Price are too costly

A decent place for dining Non-Veg. The mutton gravy provided with meals is consistently good and others aren't consistent with the taste. The service could be improved by having waiters that are kind and patient. It's a house turned hotel, so the seating capacity is less and the place gets cramped up with them waiting behind us for tables(just like in a marriage). Hand wash and restroom's are below average. Definitely not a place for elderly persons.

SCAM Lunch - for 140 you get rice and different salna gravy , not even apalam just that and two horrible vegetables with that. All the non veg side dish including biriyani is very avg compared to the expensive price for that food. Worst part is u have to wait 15mins to get table as there is no mess near by.

The rice was not boiled properly. Though other dishes such as non veg chicken and mutton fish kuzhambu are tasty, I was never satisfied as the rice was hard to eat and it was not gel with any kuzhambu. Please serve boiled rice to the customers.

No cleanness, smells very bad specially in AC area.. average food! Please spend some time to sort this just doing business. Not family friendly place to dine in!

Good food. I really hate the atmosphere. It seems unhygienic. If you don't care about surroundings I would recommend. Not very best for veg , only 1 dish veg. Very good for nonveg

The non -veg items like chicken fry, mutton fry, omlet very poor quality preparation, no tasty. Only gravy items mutton and chicken moderate quality. Prices also not valid for taste. Only plain meals are recommended.

Today I brought Turkey fry which is not nice. The meat is not cooked well. And Matton biriyani tastes below average. Only Salana is good. Today 400rs Money waste.
