The rating is for the awesome Chai. The current climate and kadak chai was just perfect. Friendly and polite staff. But the veg puff, a big NO. A big puffed up savoury with a small tsp filling for 25/30rs. What else they offer - Brownie for 80rs I thot a little pricey for the size don't know the quality and taste. Sponge n Banana cake, Masala peanuts Hazelnut filter coffee , Schezwan Vada Pav, Maggi, Samosa. Ginger, Elachi , Masala Tea, Jam bun. Quiet a shady spacious place on the main road, has comfortable parking for 2-4 wheels, nice bench seating. A perfect place to snack out on rainy day.

Amazing bun butter and bun butter jam. It sounds quite simple however the taste is very good. They also serve hot herbal water on a copper vessel to quench the thirst. Need to try the coffee the next time.

COFFEEEEEEE heaven. I visit this place for coffee only and I have not tried any other food here. So 5🌟 is based on coffee. Coffee tastes good with brown sugar, white sugar and also with sugar😂. Ensure the coffee is prepared by the person who is trained for and if any person who is a support is going to prepare, say you can wait for the coffee master. This is based on my experience once. Coffee lovers go and enjoy☕

This is small coffee shop with wide range of coffee menu . As well as they have some quick bite menu also . They're signature item in the menu is bun butter and jam highly recommended. They also have masala bun and much more . They have healthy snacks too like peanut and etc. They have variety of filter coffee flavours all are must try .there won't sufficient seating for its crowd . They also have some cookies to try . Over all its a must try budget friendly coffee spot with your coffee loving friends and family. Over all rating for food 4.7/5. Bun butter jam rating 4.5/5. Ambience rating 4/5.

#coffeehelps It's Monday but coffee can handle!☺️ I've always made it a routine to go for a walk in the morning followed by a strong coffee #coffeeshastra , it's actually the other way round, I go for a walk just to have their coffee😝 Now I can't stop with just the coffee because I love their #bunbutterjam too 😋 If you're someone who loves #kaapiovercoffee , this place should be your choice!🥰 And coming to the Bun, they also have chocolate bun which is absolutely yummylicious! #morningwalks and #kapitalks are one of the major missing to me during this lockdown!😞 But hoping for things to get better and until then, #stayhomestaysafe Let me know in the comments what's your major missing in the lockdown? Also, give me a 🙌🏻 if you prefer #filterkaapi over #cappuccino 🙈

I really appreciate everyone who works there especially those that go out of their way to make the coffee the way we want it.. Fast and friendly service. Keep up the great work !! It's awesome how you guys treat customers!! Wishing you more success and blessings!

This is a small space serving a wide variety of coffe, tea, cold drinks and snack varieties. The place is maintained clean and hygienic. There is usually a small queue at the billing counter but the billing is done fast and quick. The service is also done quickly. Butter bun is a speciality of this place but frequently unavailable because of the high demand. Coffee and tea have a great taste. The place is for a quick bite and there are less than 10 seating available. The coffee and tea are served in paper cups and it would be great if there is some better alternative for this alone.

Tea is good, but they have the bad procedure to follow... The pricing is huge and high when a person go with his own vessal for two cup of parcel... They are just demanding the brand... It's very unfair... If people recognise your product worth... You should be lenient in costing... For a 100 bucks tea ... Person has to pay 60 extra for the parcel... Pathetic

It's on the round side. Near havmour icecream shop Quite crowded on weekends and evening time. They have different varieties of snacks Drinks Quick bites maggi etc Prices are little higher compared to the quantity they give. We got Bun butter jam - Was a very nominal one nothing very special about just the etc butter in it. Choco bomb - Bun with hot chocolate tasted like bread and Hersheys syrup Coffee - good one and perfect Badam milk - Average taste cool drink with etc sweet Rose milk - just the same as Nadal milk Mini aloo samosa - Was quite crispy and less stuff inside. Very dry with few mouths Vada Pav - quick bite with good spice. Overall I found it overrated .It's just okayish for the quantity and quality Place is super hygienic Staffs are very fast and efficiently working with crowd and managing orders But need to improvise on quantity After eating all this also we didn't have our stomach filled up

I went to tnagar temple then parked my car at some random street and started wandering tnagar areas with my friend, the aroma caused by coffee Shastra made a very big impact, actually I am neither coffee person nor tea person but I was attracted to those aromatic coffee shop while crossing those Usman sali Road, because of that impact while returning back I insisted we are going to try some bites here, he was saying no but as we came close he was also convinced, so we got chocolate bun, walnut chocolate Brownies and one panavellam filter coffee. They have arranged a nice compact seating nearby, they have maintained the stall very neatly, they took the order and billing took some time because of crowd. Eatables are served hot and perfectly but drinkable takes time reaching us, it's ok they give a me time to every customer. They give rose color healthy water that, was good, even fried snacks where also served their. Where ever you go, for whatever the reason is, do wear a mask and keep your hands clean and stay safe.

I visited this place between post lunch and evening snack time to sit, relax, have coffee snacks and take some work related calls. Ambience was cool because of tree shade. You can sit on benches and have hot cup of coffee relaxed under tree. Chai and filter coffee are pretty standard. I recommend this place for quality and hot coffee or tea. They also sell jam buns, puffs, samosas and sundals Best part is the Dahamukthi, herbal water for drinking. I love the color and mild taste of this water.

I have heard many reviews about coffee shastra and I finally got a chance to visit this place yesterday. This place is located in a busy road of Tnagar serving some amazing bites and drinks. Place has been well maintained and staff were well trained. I ordered the following items. filter coffee ginger tea peanuts kolukattai. I loved everything except the tea as it doesn’t taste good. This could have been better. One box of kolukattai wasn’t enough for us so I ordered again. Thanks for your service. Please keep up the good work.

One of the best places to have tea in Chennai. Try the Chennai masala tea and Irish filter coffee. They give you an option to either add sugar or naatu sakkarai at no additional cost. They have other beverages - hot and cold as well as snack items. Must try the bun butter jam and chilly cheese maska.

Tried their masala chai and chocolate buns which was loaded with chocolate and also topped with chocolate served with a molten stage was really yummy. This could be a morning / evening snacks spot for folks who prefer any different quick bites. One other highlight is their masala chai which was really good, Yet to try out their samosas.

Good coffee shop with a wide spread of choices hot and cold beverages along with some snacking options. It is mostly crowded and might need a bit of follow up after order before you can receive your drink/snack. Starbucks like naming would help ease the crowd at the counter. Open air seating is available for about 5-6 people but during a typical evening the place will be having at least 20 people around the area thronging to get their dose of sugar. The cold beverages are all premixed and thus altering the amount of sugar is not possible. Price wise it is in the range of chai kings and like, which is on the premium side. The usage of beetle nut leaf plates is commendable, and hope a similar Eco friendly alternative is adopted for the tumblers which are disposable paper cups for the regular size and disposable pp plastic cups for large beverages. An option to have glass tumblers would be great to have. Cold beverages are also packaged in plastic bottles, and glass bottles/mugs could be adopted here as well. Had honey ginger lemon tea, hazelnut coffee, the bun butter jam and bun maksa. And the Belgian chocolate milk as well. All were good.

My friend recommended me to try the Irish coffee. Didn't like it much but it was a bit different. Could try once. Vada pav and butter jam for just Rs.35 is good quality and quantity. Parking could be an issue as the place is always crowded in the evenings. There are only two benches to sit. You have to stand and have your food. Can visit the place once! I'd love to try out other coffee flavours some other day.

Food is good, everything is good. But I have question to " whom ever it may concern, why are you serving the coffee and tea only in paper cups ( plastic coated in reality ) ? why not a glass or a steel tumbler. Even though I requested the manager specially they couldn't do it because they said they don't have that option at all in the store ( applies to all branches ), why have you neglected the glass or steel tumbler or anything other that paper cups ( plastic coated in reality ) in your outlets?

PPL ALLERGIC TO PASSIVE SMOKING CAN EASILY SKIP THIS PLACE. THOUGH THERE IS A 'NO SMOKING' PLACCARD, PPL DON'T BOTHER!! Bun Butter Jam was good. U never really find butter within BBJ these days as they fill it up with sugar whipped cream instead. But here they use fresh Table butter within BBJ. Bun was super soft and fresh. Cheese vada pav - Again the pav was super soft. But filling was more south indianised. Ordered Irish Filter coffee- It was too watery maybe because of the Irish flavour essence added. Otherwise the taste was good.

Coffee is very good 👍 Bun butter jam is good but too much hype for the taste,In comparison to hype it's just 60-70% Elam vadam/vadai was very boring food,Taste was like warm upma and chutney was ice cold so taste was lost. Service needs to be taken care,Staff is unable to handle the crowd

Must try place for South Indian Filter Coffee. The aroma, mouthfeel and punch of the coffee is out of the world, this one has to be experienced. Try the bun butter jam which melts in our mouth. Wonderful place, ample bike and car parking, very good service by the staff especially Naveen, Lakshmi Dass & Datchnamoorthy.

Tea doesn't taste good. Bun Butter jam is okay, even if we pay for double butter and jam, they give the same quantity which they give for single bun Butter jam.

I would’ve given a high rating if not for their inconsistency. Their coffee is pretty good, especially the hazelnut coffee they serve. I’ve tried that twice here, while the first was a good experience, the second try wasn’t.. It was too sugary and made me throw it away. They certainly need to train their baristas better to serve good cup of coffee everytime.

If you are a coffee lover, then this is a must place to try. Bun butter jam is one of their signature dishes. Very soft and tasty. Nice place to hangout with friends. Place will be crowded during evenings.

Nice food.. Very Good quality.. But there is some lacking in service.. The owner has created a good brand out of his experience. The employees should feel that and should try to give good service.. I don't blame the employees alone although as there may be shortage of employees according to the customer inflow.. The owner may look in to this and employ more staff to feel the customers happy.. Overall I feel great that the brand is trying to give good quality products to their customers. All the best to Coffee Shastra Team.. Good luck.

👍 The lassi was thick and cool. It had a very refreshing taste. They had blended it well. The informal seating space is a very nice addition to the whole setting. Unknowingly it makes the place very accessible to all kinds of people. The pricing also complements that. If possible they should start it...
