Established
in
the
year
of
1979
by
the
Indian
railways,
Mysore
Rail
Museum
is
the
second
museum
of
its
kind,
after
the
National
Railway
Museum,
which
is
located
in
Delhi.
This
museum
boasts
of
a
rich
collection
of
photographs
and
various
items
depicting
various
stages
in
the
development
of
Indian
railways
along
with
a
captivating
exhibit
of
locomotives.
Previously
most
of
the
exhibits
of
the
museums
were
kept
at
the
Mysore
Palace
and
later
were
shifted
to
their
present
place.

toy-

operating
on
battery
that
takes

a

Rs.15
per
person
while
for
child
it
is
Rs.10
only.

near

the
railway
station
of

city
centre
it
is

km
away.
It
is
located
on
the
Krishnaraja
Sagar

Research
Institute.
Tourists
can
take
a
hired
taxi
or
auto
rickshaw
to
the
museum.
If
commuting
by
bus
then
also
there
won’t
be
any
hassle,
as
many
Mysore
city
buses
run
via
railway
museum.
