Price wise too is not very expensive. To sum up, a wonderful choice for a family dinner.Vegetarian people who wants to try proper Chinese food, this is the best place. But very good food, good quantity and great service. Only hick up is they don't accept cards for payment which is really annoying. The best Thai Cuisine I have had in chennai so far!.Overall a fine dining experience. Will look forward for next time with family.

Tried their Adyar, OMR branches which was like one of the best Chinese and Thai veg cuisine restaurant in Chennai. Tried their K.K Nagar branch recently and this branch is also one of the best Chinese and Thai veg cuisine. You can get a great service in Flower Drum restaurant joints.

Here's my experience with this Flowerdrum.. You can see the board in front as CHIVES.. Not Flowerdrum.. Visited here for dinner.. Moderate crown when we were there at 7.30.. The ambience and the feel of the place is decent, would recommend to have seating on the red cushion sofa as it feels comfortable than the corner tables.. TBH, i never tried this kind of restaurants earlier, so ordered by closing eyes and placed the finger at menu and ordered.. Lung Fung Soup - 🍵🍵🍵 Stuffed Fried Mushroom - 🍄🍄🍄🍄 Burnt Garlic Fried Rice - 🍚🍚🍚🍚 Eight Jewel Vegetable 🥘🥘🥘🥘 Emerald Momos - 🥟 White Pasta - 🍜🍜🍜🍜 Didn't take white pasta pic 😎 Over all, decent different experience except emerald momos.. i m not sure if the real taste of it is just like that.. Parking is good enough for that premises..

The food quality and the ambience was great. The service is also on point. I loved the experience with them. Only negative was the costing. But i feel is great place to have great vegetarian food. Especially the Thai and Chinese cuisines.

Not worth it at all. Other than a pleasant ambience, nothing qualifies to score a mark. 1. The restaurant doesn't have even green chilly sauce. 2. Vegetable sizzler gets served in a bowl. That makes it look nothing more than veg biryani. That was totally disappointing. 3. The attitude of the waiters is not customer friendly. 4. They don't accept cards for payment. Overall experience is negative.

I ordered my regular Thai green curry with steamed rice. As I took my first bite, I immediately noticed that something was off. The vibrant and aromatic essence of lemongrass, basil, and coconut milk, which used to define this classic Thai dish, had vanished. Instead, I was met with a bland and unremarkable curry that failed to capture the essence of its origin. Curious and concerned about this sudden change, I politely asked the waiter about the alteration in taste. To my surprise, the response I received was far from satisfactory. The waiter, with a smug smirk on his face, dismissed my query as if I were unaware of what the real taste of Thai green curry should be. This condescending attitude only exacerbated my disappointment and left me feeling disregarded as a valued customer. As a regular patron, I expected a certain level of quality and taste consistency. It is disheartening to witness a decline in the very attributes that initially drew me to this establishment. I believe that customer feedback should be valued and acknowledged, rather than met with dismissive smirks. After this experience, I am left questioning whether this restaurant still deserves my loyalty and continued patronage.

Good Veg joint. Starters like corn Cornell and Lotus stem were really tasty. We had fried rice and noodles which were good. Variety of desserts available. Worth a visit. Basically for groups as the items are served in good quantity.

Had my dinner there. First time in my lifetime, I found a fine dine restaurant with only one customer (myself with 2 others) dining at around 9pm. Heard it was a good place. Food was good with a wide variety of menu to select from. Looks like they are quite inexperience and made us to rush out of the restaurant while having dinner. I was told that they had put some rotten oil in the fry pan which created a foul smelling smoke and made us almost to vomit. Such a bad experience at this place. Still recovering from that bad smell which emnated from the kitchen made us think if they were cooking NON-VEG.

I find this place oddly calming despite being a large restaurant. I've lost count of the number of times I've been here. Their portion size is really huge for a family of four. Don't miss the broccoli pistachio soup, Thai green curry, bhudha curry, tofu cheese momo. We have once had their brownie sizzler but nothing else. The dessert selection is nothing great and pricey too. This is a surprise because their main course is pretty reasonable. The staff is very courteous and there's always a good table available. It's not a noisy restaurant and a good choice for family and friends meet ups.

Went for dinner to celebrate special anniversary. Place gets crowded on weekend so better go early. Clear soup and starters were awesome. Main course too was good. Portions are larger than many restaurants. Service is also quick. Was little disappointed with the dessert options though. Usual Thai desserts are not available

Our family has been going to Flowerdrum for the past 1 year and in total we've visited 3 times and not once have we been disappointed with the food. Its exceptionally good and tasty. Lot of variety for vegetarian Chinese lovers. Must try their Lotus stem, wonton clear soup (very flavourful, broth was amazing and wontons cooked to perfection). Honey chilli cauliflower was also a decent dish- right flavours just as you'd expect. Their noodle soup was also amazing. Quantity wise and flavour profile wise, everything was good. Friendly staff also.

Loved the restaurant ambience It comes at a cost in dishes but is compensated with quantity We really enjoyed all the dishes Actually we have ordered a lot of dishes it became extra for us 1. Corn fritters - excellent to the core. A starter which we can have as a main 2. Cauliflower starter - this is the dish of the day 3. Panneer sizzler - cottage cheese - which is also a good option to have. This alone can satisfy one person 4. Rice and noodles - this is also good and especially the quantity One thing to improve was to improve the main courses. Maybe their main course is of a different cuisine and I didn't love it And some menu was not available at the restaurant like Vietnamese cuisine which we don't expect from a fine dining restaurant.

Nice eat out for Chinese in KK Nagar, Chennai. Ample parking space. Nice people. On 05-04-2023 visited the place again to experience the new name of the restaurant. But we are thoroughly disappointed. We regret for spending so much for very tasteless stuff. It was awful. I have second thoughts to visit again.

Pros - Friendly service - Average taste - Good ambience Cons - Per plate quantity is less - Minor food changes are heard but not delivered - Found a dead cockroach below our table during our visit.

Everything was excellent there! We went as a family and got very nice hospitality. The food was of top quality with no preservatives. The quantity was also more which can be enjoyed if you go as a family. The best Thai Cuisine I have had in chennai so far!

This is my first ever review of a restaurant; I decided to review it because I was so impressed!! For starters we had the manchow soup — a classic for a reason. The service was prompt, and the waiters were polite and pointed out the best items! We had pasta for the main course — a wonderful new addition to the menu — and the sizzling brownie was to die for! A small note — even though the restaurant was recently rebranded, the food is as delicious as ever, if not better!! I will be returning to Chives again and again. Thank you for a delicious meal and wonderful memories!

We ordered spring roll but they served a different variety of spring roll to our plates. We realised only after taking a bite. On asking they replaced it, but literally took the spring roll that was already bitten/opened in half from our eating plates. Was wondering why they would take it out of our plates when we have already touched or taken a bite. 😒 Food was average, ambience was good. Service was decent.

I got a lot of positive reviews from my colleagues and peers for this one. The ambience, service were all great. But the food was not as expected. It was tasty but I felt they used too much of oil

I would say a big 'NO' for the local people who has South Indian and North Indian eaters ...i mean the taste is absolutely irrelevant with what they wrote on the menu... The taste of the food is just below average... will never try here anymore... Though the ambience is good... BTW that's the so called chilly sauce they served when i asked for the chilly sauce...

In Chennai, we don't have many where you get pure veg chinese food. This place is absolutely recommended for vegetarian Chinese food lovers. Note: While ordering keep in mind that their portions are big. Each portion can be served for a group of people.

I am waiting to be able to visit it again. Great taste amazing presentation and decent quantity. I wish the wait time was lesser. We went in not so busy hours but had to wait for 50 minutes for our order. Other than that must visit place

Service is average, waiters are not very committed to their work. Food taste is okay at some level but some items are replaced or removed from combo order without our consent. You can try it once and if this is the case then may not wanna visit again.

It is restaurant which uses reasonable amount of oil Their food cannot be made without oil But the day we went the oil was very much on the higher side Usually it is not the place of that nature Probably while ordering tell them to use reasonable amount of oil or slightly less But I'm going to this place once a month Price are reasonable Ambiance fantastic

Good restaurant if you want a pure vegetarian restaurant. The portions are decently big. So order carefully. The taste is just average when compared to other similar oriental restaurants.

Visited this place on 22 Nov 2021. I was skeptical about Chinese vegetarian food. But very good food, good quantity and great service. Only hick up is they don't accept cards for payment which is really annoying.
