Ambience was excellent and south indian vegetarian food was class of its own. Valet parking offered by them. Restaurant is in first floor and party hall is in the second floor. For the first time, I had that tasty rice which was awesome. Abundant side dishes like fried items, fresh cut vegetables were offered by them. Food was served and unlimited servings were offered.

It was a great experience. Each and every dish was amazing, a proper combination of North Indian plus South Indian flavours. You have to book your seat before visiting, go and enjoy the meal with your friends and family. 1 person cost ( thali) rs.1250.

Loved everything about this place. The ambience so inviting with beautiful tables and the mild fragrance from the sandalwood pillars, the staff so humble, the food is the best part, great quality food, they don't serve copious amounts so there is room for a lot of other items that is to come in the several courses of the meal. The whole meal is an experience that I will come back to again. I hope they keep up this great work!! Must try to experience excellent vegetarian food. Might need make a bit of effort to identify vegan food, but it is pretty easy. It's amazing how beautiful dishes can be made all with just plants. Indian cuisine and the way vegetables are used never ceases to amaze me. Annalakshmi does a fine job with the whole fine dining experience for vegetarian fare :)

In terms of food the taste was very good and authentic. The food variety is almost like what you eat at weddings but with much better quality. The price is justified for the quality of the food and they serve it again if you want. This place has one of the best ambience I've ever seen. It was the perfect fine dining experience with no rush and it's great for get togethers. Note: Make sure to call them and get a reservation beforehand. Walk in is not preferred here as every table will be booked

Everything about the ambience as well as the taste feels divine. Traditional South Indian/ North Indian menu. Staff is very friendly, polite and makes you feel right at home. Offers both Thali as well as a la`carte options. Reservation required. Valet parking available.

This is for the banquet hall + food service. Can do much better. I've visited twice for events, and the issue remains. Firstly lack of proper cutlery. Only spoon is provided in the buffet and no fork. Which is an inconvenience while eating noodles. Napkin/ tissues is not provided by default, with the plates disbursal. The entry passageway is too narrow to do a u-turn for cars. And only one car can move at a time. A broader space would have been convenient. The hall interiors are tasteful and pleasant. Of the two events I attended one had average food the other one good food. Hope they maintain consistency in their offering.

Finest vegetarian restaurant in town. The place is majestic and royal. I’m really impressed with quiet environment,Fragrance and Carnatic music. They have exceeded my expectation with their quality and top notch service. I got to know that food were cooked and served by trust members through volunteering act! The place is bit expensive but worth it. I would recommend this place for fine dining with family.

I cannot tell you how long I've waited to go here! You can go here only with reservations and you need to book by Tue-Wed if you want to eat here by the weekend. The ambience was amazing! I liked how they served the food one after another and everything tasted good :) I didn't enjoy the cauliflower starters alone but everything else was good. One of the best vegetarian South Indian meals you can have!

A genuine vegetarian restaurant with a spiritual touch. It felt luxurious and it was like we were in a grand Indian wedding. You cannot expect spicy Chinese vegetarian dishes here.

One of the few places in Chennai that serves such an extravagant vegetarian spread. One really needs a huge appetite to enjoy everything on the menu. This restaurant is really famous and this can be evidenced by the fact that you have to reserve your table on a Wednesday of you want to go there for lunch on a Saturday. Now coming to the place itself - the ambience really takes you back in time and has a really old world but special feel to it. The food is delicious, no complaints at all on this front. The staff are very polite and courteous. They are respectful and do not hurry you while you're enjoying your meal. They explain each and every dish on the menu with a lot of patience, so you know exactly what you're eating. All the Covid norms were followed. Overall this is an experience one must have if you like vegitarian Indian food.

A beautiful indian culture filled high class vegetarian restaurant with one of the best staffs I've ever met. They were so friendly and caring that even we forgot to realise that we spent a lot of time there. Best in class foods, moderately priced as per the superior quality. No artificial colors or over oil in any foods or whatsoever. Totally A divine dining feeling. Must try 10/10.

I can't believe I haven't been to this place until now! I was awestruck from the beginning till the end. The food, the service, ambience and hospitality were more welcoming than family even. We went for mahalakshmi Preethi Bhojan as we wanted to have a taste of everything and thank heavens we made the right choice! Starting from the tomato soup to the thali and the dessert, we had absolute flavoursome food. The beeda at the end was literally cherry on top. Being an advocate for non veg restaurants and food, veg restaurants seldom impress me. But this place honestly blew my mind.

The ambience was at another level, making you feel royal. The price may be at a higher side, with only thalis on menu. Another flip side would be the bookings that are very hard to get. The ambience though is a sure call out!

Very tasty food, especially the methi palak with sweetcorn dish, five dahls, black dahls. Would be even better with half the amount of ghee. Drinks like panagam and thandai were very good. Biggest challenge was to be able to book as the staff said they had no availability for my local relative, however when we did have dinner not all the tables were busy so I think its just a marketing strategy to look very popular. AC is too strong, very cold when sitting so please remember to bring extra layers.

Very good food. Nice location and valet parking is a plus. Today at had no choice but to go with the set lunch menu. But the food served was of good quality and taste. One need to be very hungry to really enjoy all that is being served. Really enjoyed the food and the cozy atmosphere and service was good too. This was a regular thali and it was too much of food. There is another thali at double the cost. Not sure what all of has and how can anyone easy so much. It is expensive but the quality of food, ambience and service makes you feel that it is worth the money.

An upscale and one of the finest vegetarian restaurants in Chennai. They offer stand-out experience for their customers. The presentation is exquisite with everything served on silver plates and some are even gold plated. The ambiance is great with beautiful interiors and the restaurant maintains impeccable cleanliness. The dining experience here rivals that of a 4 or 5-star hotel in the city. The dishes are not only delicious but are also unique. While the overall service is commendable, we did encounter a few disappointments. Reservations are a must, given the popularity of the place. Plan to spend somewhere around 1000 INR per person. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to people.

It's very different place, in a good way, for a restaurant in Chennai. Just landed there randomly for lunch and picked sambar rice, so the food review is limited to the one item. The setup is 5*, but food is 3*. It was spicy and I gotta turn it down with yogurt. The place has some interesting background and has international presence. You could take some friends or family who are out of state or country, just for experience. The finger bowl was quite a nice surprise.

Went for a birthday party and I really loved the atmosphere and food. The food was authentic and hygienic, what more can be asked for. Most importantly we didn't face the parking issue/ waiting time. They were very polite bouncers to help us. And people who serve the food were dressed in their theme, very presentable. But yeah, had to come across heavy city traffic nearby.

It is a fine dining experience. I was in chennai for two day. I read good reviews and decided to try it out. I essentially wanted to have a south indian meal. It is not a typical south indian meal but the combination of south and north. Even though it was not what I had in mind, the food was excellent and I really enjoyed it.

I would definitely say that this is THE best Vegetarian restaurant in Chennai especially if you want a lot of South Indian delicacies. We went as a family and enjoyed lots of superb dishes. (Kadambari, Mahalakshmi Preethi Bhojanam, Chettinadu Panner, Kulcha, Gobi 65, Veg. Fried rice) I would personally recommend the Thalis if you go out for lunch as it has a lot of variety and I am sure you will love it. (Pls skip or have very little breakfast if you want to eat the Thalis) (pretty sure you won't eat dinner after that😄) The ambience was amazing and so was the alter of the Godess Annalakshmi. The music and the scent gave our senses a traditional feel and took our experience to the level of divinity. PS - DONT FORGET to reserve your table before hand.

Amazing fine dining experience! I went there with my family for a special occasion, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal, just a small recommendation to have a light breakfast before having this meal, they do not have a la carte, but they were kind to help us provide an a la carte for my grandmother who couldn't have a big full meal on that day, the service was amazing, friendly staffs, amazing ambience, worth every penny of the money spent!

It was absolutely a great experience to be there at Annalakshmi on the occasion of Mother’s Day!!! The place looks very impressive with its majestic and royal look. Food tasted great with mild spices, even my picky eating kiddos enjoyed!! The starters baby corn fritters and paneer fritters tasted amazing!! We also ordered Makai Kofta to accompany with average tasting vegetable kulcha and butter naan. Malai Kofta is one of the best ones I’ve ever had!! Mysore Masala Dosa tasted authentic!! Booking ahead will make your experience much better to avoid any waiting time especially with the kids. Ambience was great as well!! Overall Annalakshmi gave us a memorable experience!!

Pure veg restaurant. Excellent Ambience. Booking has to be done two days in prior. Limited reservations. 11.30 to 2.30 in morning and 7 to 10 in evening. The way they treat you is awesome. You may feel like a king. All silver utensils. The only concern is food is overpriced and it is not pocket friendly. Advisable for once in a year visit.

There's no question about the quality of food served at Annalakshmi, but what is the point of good food if your experience at the place is a bitter one? Having heard great things about their food, I booked their venue for a special family function. The venue + decor were good but the staff in charge of food and catering treated my guests very badly, rudely refusing to provide them with extra plates and allowing them to take soup in a bowl only if they took a plate. And this was for a crowd of just 80 people. I'm not sure what they do for larger crowds, if they're unable to stay flexible for this small crowd itself. We were anyway paying for 100 plates of food while calling only 80 guests. The icing on the cake was when they refused to provide plates to eat for me, the bride and my partner, the groom at our own engagement function. There was zero sense of hospitality shown to me or my guests that day, given that it was during heavy November rains, with the city flooding around us. We were forced to be assertive and ask to be served the very food that we were paying for. This is not the experience any host would want their guests to have at their engagement function. I'm very disappointed.

Annalakshmi Restaurant (அன்னலட்சுமி உணவகம்) is a culinary treasure in the heart of Chennai, offering a unique dining experience that blends delicious South Indian vegetarian cuisine with a welcoming and spiritually enriched ambiance. This restaurant is not just about food; it's a journey for the senses and the soul. The first impression upon entering Annalakshmi is its warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior is thoughtfully designed with traditional South Indian decor, featuring vibrant colors, intricate woodwork, and beautiful artwork that depicts various aspects of Indian culture and spirituality. The use of soft lighting creates a cozy and relaxed ambiance, making it an ideal place for both intimate dinners and family gatherings. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the food. Annalakshmi excels in serving authentic South Indian cuisine that is both flavorful and soul-satisfying. Their menu is a celebration of the region's culinary diversity, featuring a wide array of dosas, idlis, vadas, and curries. Each dish is prepared with precision and care, using fresh ingredients and aromatic spices that tantalize the taste buds. Whether you're a fan of the spicy Chettinad cuisine or prefer the mild flavors of Kerala, Annalakshmi has something to satisfy every palate. One of the restaurant's standout features is its unique dining concept. Annalakshmi follows the tradition of serving food as a form of seva (service) rather than a commercial transaction. There are no fixed prices on the menu; instead, patrons are encouraged to make voluntary donations based on their dining experience and satisfaction. This approach fosters a sense of community and generosity among diners, making the meal not only a feast for the stomach but also for the heart. The staff at Annalakshmi further enhance the dining experience. They are not just waiters; they are knowledgeable and passionate individuals who take pride in explaining the dishes, their cultural significance, and the charitable philosophy of the restaurant. Their warmth and hospitality make diners feel like cherished guests in a South Indian home. In conclusion, Annalakshmi Restaurant is a gastronomic and cultural gem in Chennai. It offers more than just delicious food; it provides a spiritual and heartwarming experience. The combination of delectable South Indian cuisine, a serene and culturally rich ambiance, and the unique concept of seva-based dining make Annalakshmi a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts, culture seekers, and anyone looking to savor the true essence of South India. Your visit here will not only satisfy your appetite but also nourish your soul.

This is the place to go if you want to experience "Fine Dining". Vegetarian meals only and we need to book a table a day in advance. But it had it all. Awesome ambience, silver plates ,silver spoons ?, carefully prepared food and menu ( I liked the taste of all the items served. But some said its not impressive as it was not spicy etc , but taste depends on each person ) . But it's very well prepared in the traditional vegetarian style. I would say this is a royal food , royal experience. Oh I forgot to mention. It's expensive. Really expensive. Like a 3 star hotel. Go on a weekend and enjoy!

Restaurant is spacious and the tables are laid out with lot of space in between. If you are in a group you can discuss things freely at a reasonable decibel without the fear of disturbing the people in the next table. Buffet has a reasonable spread. The items are reasonably good. Best in class restaurant for the audience who cares so much about service and food. Its on expensive end equal an to 5 star hotels. But worth every penny comparing to other 5 star hotels. Must place to visit, book your tables before you go to avoid cumbersome. I didn't get admission when i tried to go in alone. So I had to take someone else with me to get entry, it will be good if you check with the management before going in that regards. It might be cost per table issues.

They have moved from Egmore to Chetpet. Their meals is a bit pricy but it has lot of items and they have a great ambience, so it may be worth the experience. They may not have a hand wash area, so you can ask for bowl before the meal, if not served. Some of the below items may be part of meals and some as a'la carte. Items to try: Tomato Soup, Sambar, RASAM, VATHAKOZHAMBU, Vendaikkai Kara Kari, Usuli?, Puliyodhare, Cheesy Macaroni, Baby Corn Fritters, Mango Rice, Gulab Jamun, Almond Mint Uthappam.

During a quarantine it appears as though the same rules do not apply to this business. Just today I saw over 50 people attend a function. I don't know if the owners are just plain stupid, or if they attract stupid

Located in four countries (India, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia) Annalakshmi, the vegetarian restaurant, leads the income generating quartet that sustains the artistic and charitable activities of the Temple of Fine Arts. Polished, private and yet utterly unpretentious, its success is the result of its underlying philosophy that is based on the ancientadage – atithi devo bhava – the guest is god. It is a philosophy that is manifested through the work of the largely voluntary staff – housewives who know what it takes to prepare a wholesome meal and a miscellaneous team of doctors, teachers, technicians, clerks and accountants who understand the meaning of polite, unobtrusive service. Annalakshmi stands out for yet another reason – the array of delectable dishes it serves in an ambience that reflects the ancient lore of Indian arts and culture. In every way then, it is a restaurant where vegetarian dining is a cultural experience.

Annalakshmi restaurant has been a combination of visual and gastrointestinal treat by tastefully blending aesthetics with good food. All my experiences there have been very satisfactory so far.

This is the best Hotel with full cleaned premises. It portrays a very royal look. The parking is also in a ordered manner which makes no confusion for the customers to park the vehicles. The food no doubt is of a very good taste.

A true epitome of fine dining. The ambience is classy and staff are very polite and trained. We need to book well in advance for a slot, especially over weekends. We had the mid day unlimited meal and it was just exquisite. Right from the starters, a good timing was followed so as not to rush us while we are having a meal and a brief gap between courses. Each dish tasted really good and appropriate quantity was served so that we are able to taste all the dishes. Everything was served in silverware which was a good experience. Would surely suggest this place be it for business meetings or casual family dinners

Prime location and valet parking. Rich cultural ambience, true to their advertisement. Yummy Brahmin saappad. The usual vegetarian dishes. Buffet served at table. The waiters explain to us what they are serving. Kulchas were also good. Thamarai thandu vathal is something different. Starters and desserts could have more varieties for the price paid. Only gulab jamun and semiya payasam, with very less sugar(the usual desserts we prepare at home) was served on a Sunday lunch menu, which was a little disappointing. Of course there was ice-cream too but the usual 4 flavours. My hubby ordered for "Lavani" (the menu promised a lemon -honey mocktail) but was disappointed to get just plain lime juice for Rs. 120/-. The management should also think about providing kids' chairs for those who require them at least. Many families were struggling to keep the tiny tots in place and had to take turn to enjoy their meal, by which time the food served on their plates had turned cold.

They have both Dining and Banquet hall. They have huge varieties of spread and the food tastes really good. They don’t charge for the Banquet hall if you book the buffet package. Ambience is splendid and have decent amount of parking space.

Awesome restaurant for all the veg lovers. I loved the way they served the food. It's extremely clean. The thali they serve has so many varieties and you definitely need to come starving to enjoy the varieties. A place where you can sit quietly and enjoy the ambience, the culture and relish the food. Book a table in advance or be early to grab your table.

A high class veg restaurant. Good location, valet parking are plus. Very good ambiance and excellent service. It was a fixed menu that day for lunch and we had no choice. But the menu was to good and in fact we struggled with the quantity and we could not say no to any of the food served as each one was to good to resist. It is a expensive restaurant but you get what you expect for that money paid.

Excellent Ambience. But way overrated and overpriced. I did not enjoy my experience at all. Food was good - subjective if worth the cost. but the overall service while kind and courteous seems to intentionally create a feeling that the customer should feel lucky to be eating at this restaurant. Servings/Portions were deliberately small and service slow. One guy even had the audacity to tell me that if I eat one of this more I may be able to enjoy their broader spread. I was told later by a friend that reservations are required 1 day in advance. Looks like folks at Chennai are deprived of choices. Interesting model for a business.

Firstly reserve a place as it is hard to get a table for walk-in. The meal is an amalgamation of South Indian and North Indian cuisine. Seating is special and curated well for a non-five star hotel. Service is well managed and timed in a good sequence. Great service staff and good food. What I would have liked to have in the meal to make it a five star rating is a signature dish. But as the name suggests it is a plenty of food, but served in small doses. Go there to complete your Chennai experience.

Suitable for those who can shell out huge money for the sake of food. Though nothing extra-ordinary, Mahalakshmi trupthi thali was good and not spicy. Pepper-garlic rasam was excellent. Chana masala was good. Ambience was nice and divine. Service was good. If you are a foodie or want a change, definitely you can visit the place to experience their food and ambience.
