Kaidi kitchen veg restaurant is a must visit restaurant. The whole experience beginning with the ambience, the layout, the massive entrance door, the seating arrangements styled as jail cells, the uniform of the wait staff who are dressed as wardens n inmates is too good! The food is equally good, if not better. Must try the cheese fondue, garlic bread with dip, cheese balls, bread basket, Aloo dum and Thai red n green curry. They serve macaroni, veg au gratin also. They are all very good. They have only few dessert options. One can try the gulab jamun with ice cream. It is a great place for family lunches or dinners.

One of the Finest Themed Restaurants in Chennai sticking on to the theme on Point. The Staffs are dressed up like Police & Prisoners, the dining area is set up like Jail! It's a lovely place for Pure Vegetarians. We ordered : Cheese Fondue, Veg Lasagna and Pizza ~ The service was pretty quick and the Lasagna is sure to be sufficient for 2pax! The sides in the Cheese Fondue could have been more for its pricing and for the quantity of cheese served! And the Pizza was said to be Thin crust but it tasted and looked more like a biscuit that is to crackle for every bite! We could have avoided that because the other 2 dishes made us so full pretty quickly! The total bill for 3 dishes came around 1500/- and odd, which is a little high on pocket but when it comes to theme yes, that's the nominal cost tht any restaurant basically charges, so no complaints 🌟

We went on a busy weekend but still got a table. First off we ordered Manchow soup and Baby corn manchurian and both of them tasted fine but it was spicy for us after a point. Veg biryani was ok. Really loved the lasagna which was creamy and rich and baked rasagulla at the end. They ran out of some items at the time which we were looking forward to eat

Service was very good. Ambience was different and nice. Temperature inside the restaurant was little low compared to room temperature.Food was not that great though. Presentation of food was nice. We have ordered following: Guava spicy (3/5) Lime mint cooler (3/5) Litti choka ( 1/5) it was too dry and baigan bharta was not provided. Gobhi manchurian (3/5) good in taste, but be careful while eating gobhi in restaurants. Jaipuri mix veg (3/5) okay okay Dal 4.5/5 Chenapoda 3/5 it was too dry.

Good ambiance having a jail set up. Staffs are polite providing very good service. Food is very tasty although it’s little costly. Felt the quantity of the Deserts is less. Overall a very good experience. Lasagna Verdure is a must try.

Jail themed restaurant, food definitely expensive but tastes good. We ordered garlic bread with hummus, panner tikka mix - amristari was good, cheese balls and manchow soup. Main course Thai veg curry green. Now coming to serious feedback to the restaurant mgmt. Literally every time I had to step out of the table and call the waiters to order or get water filled, surprised to find no manager on the floor, didn't find much enthusiasm in treating the guests right from person in the reception and finally I could spot 3 or 4 tables also complaining for similar experience. Once used to be a dinning place for good occasion but had my last visit this time.

Went for dinner. Service time was pretty okay considering Saturday night. We ordered Cream of tomato soup, naanza, veg stuff naan and paneer butter masala. Food was good not bad.Bill came around 1100. Felt quite costly. Can definitely try with bigger crowd again so that we could taste different items. Dine out app via swiggy gave 10% discount.

Been to the.place for a North Indian cuisine and we ordered sweet corn soup which was very bad and i would add it in must avoid list. Then we ordered a crispy baby corn starter which was okay but tasted so sweet. Then we went for a main course of butter naan and mixed veg curry which was again added with sugar and it was sweet in taste. The theme of the restaurant is awesome and the staff were so friendly and attentive but in the end the purpose was not solved. Maybe for a different ambience you can visit this place but don't expect anything which is of your choice. Maybe the dishes which we ordered might be wrong or the day when we visited the food would have not been prepared properly. Who knows. Our day was spoilt.

A nice and cosy jail themed restaurant. The food taste and quality is extremely good. However the quantity is definitely on the lower side when compared to the high prices charged. The staff were very courteous and prompt in their service.

In simple, it's a Jain restaurant. Other than theme restaurant don't expect anything from this hotel. Speaking about pricing, it's too high and didn't worth at all. Once you enter they're asking if you've booked table. We didn't. They gave seat near rest room. Me and my friend went, they gave two seater which is very uncomfortable to eat. Also I've asked to change the seat. Even though they've seats at the top floor they didn't provided and I got a reply that seats are reserved. Worst experience I never had before in any restaurant at Chennai.

Everything was good. Heard about this place for a long time, but first time visited the restaurant and its really good. Atmosphere is creative and unique. To match with environment Staff were dressed in “Prison” uniforms. Food is also great in taste and the price is reasonable. Overall its good and pleasant experience. I would say one thing to improve - washroom needs maintenance.

The place is awesome and the ambience is very good. The food is also good and they served the food very quickly it's not like other restaurants where they will take more time. From the manager till the cleaning guy everyone provides great services. They are having Jain food also. The shop will close by 3:30 so it would be better if you go before 3:00 PM. For 3 people we ordered 3 starters, 2 Main dish, 1 soup, 3 juices and it cost us totally 2.7K.

The vegetarian fare consisting of a soup, starter and main dish with vegetable were all palatable and light on the stomach. There was no "after effects" The staff wore police/jailor and prisoner style dress with the latter having typical prisoner numbers. Paintings on walls and ambience are jail related. Quite a different ambience indeed. Service was prompt and polite. However, the downside is that there's a common door to ladies' and gents' restrooms and the space is very narrow. You may find yourself bumping into a lady emerging from ladies washroom. Also the washbasin for handwash is located in the toilet. Management must do something about it even if it means carving out some eating space.

Bad place. Poor staff... I was there with my family recently. A staff was very rude. I wanted to report it to the manager. It turned out that he himself was the manager. His name is Dominic. No one with self respect should go to this place.

A famous themed restaurant in Mylapore !!!! A best restaurant for pure vegetarian lovers. The atmosphere is calm, clean and decent & it is a good place for friends as well as family. The light inside is sort of dim, so that pics don't turn out as best as expected, unless you have an awesome phone with awesome-est camera (for example, like One plus 7). No separate parking area is available, but you can park your vehicle in front of the restaurant's gate. The menu has a wide range of cuisine & the rates are affordable. It might take Rs 900 - Rs 1000 for 2 people. The servers are polite and food is served as quick as possible. (PS: Might spot some celebrity faces if you are lucky enough !)

Kaidi Kitchen is a themed fine dining restaurant. The outlet is designed to dine in a Jail/Prision themed place. The team are dressed like police & prisioners. The menu is not curated according to the theme. Yet, the food is good. Especially the Garlic bread & hummus is fantastic. The mix Paneer Tikka platter is good. Pastas & Sizzlers are great. Indian breads are good. Starters portioning is very less to be shared.

Great restaurant experience as of now. The food here tastes very good. All the dishes are a bit better than other restaurants out there that i have visited. Great Ambiance with lite songs and music. A place for a good get together and gathering with friends and family. Friendly staff and good service by them. The best dishes among what i had was the Mexican Lasagna 💗 and Veg Manchow Soup which tasted amazingly good! Highly recommended for everyone!. Price wise, we can say with these qualities and food is worth the price we pay for. If we reserve via Dineout app and use it for payment we will get a discount of 10% so try using it.

Kaidi Kitchen rocks! The food, the service - I love it. Our Order Veg Manchow - this was too tangy as they had added extra Soya Sauce. Asked them to change it but for some reason they asked us to choose another soup and we went with Lemon Coriander. Lemon Coriander - unlike other restaurants, here it was differently done. The flavour and taste was awesome. Ricotta Parmesan Quesadilla - a bit chewy and a bit crunchy, along with veggies, it was too good. Amritsari Paneer Tikka - Paneer was succulent. Yummy. Lasagna Mexicana - with sheets of Palak and normal Pasta, this was another dish that rocked. Pizza Exotica - The thin crust, gooey cheese and the medley of veggies - this was divine. Lychee Paradise - Was refreshing and very tasty. Service was excellent. They have brought down the number of items in the menu. Still, worth it. Lastly, has a good conversation with Martin. Keep up the good work, KK team.

Had googled for pure veg restaurants around Marina beach and Kaidi kitchen was one of the top options. The entrance is quite different and catchy. Once you enter the restaurant, you can see staff in police and prisoner dress which is interesting. The ambience mimics a jail but there are only limited tables with that theme while other seats are normal. The menu card is available via QR code scan using Google Lens. The food items are limited and definitely need scope for improvement. The staff especially Manivannan helped us with the order citing expected delay and all. Soup is good, starters are quite nice especially garlic bread with hummus. Expect a long delay with main course. You can definitely have a nice experience but limited expectations for the food

Best place for vegetarians. Little high fy. We need at least one person to know English for communicate with the bearers in our team. Need the average knowledge about the menu to order. Otherwise the foods are yummy and fresh and one of the best theme restaurant. Here we saw the prison, police and acuste serve the food. But in the prison room 10 members team only allowed for dinning. Other family are placed out side of the prison

We went during weekdays. We ordered Sweet Corn Veg Soup and Cheese balls. Both were very good. We then tried their Paneer Tikka which was lipsmacking. For main course Butter Naan, Garlic Naan and Paneer Butter Masala. The Butter Naan was so soft and one of the best we had in recent times. It went well with Paneer Butter Masala. The service was prompt and friendly. Overall, a very good restaurant with a nice theme and quality food.

Good taste and ambiance. They served food well. Little costly but worth the money considering the taste. Variety of VEG options. The person taking menu details were wearing police dress and the person who served was wearing kaithi dress. Best place to have North Indian dishes but poor in Italian and mexican dishes "Authentic jail layout professional service pleasant kid friendly ambience "Average food, , over priced, under staffed."

  • 4/5 Logesh C. 4 years ago on Google
The place is a good combination of ambience and food. One of the nicest place for the vegetarians, as you can enjoy the North Indian and the mix of Italian and Mexican style food. All the foods are delivered good to their mark and it was fun to be around like sitting in a jail and having lunch and things. The light was too dim to be and the place was too cozy for a normal restaurant.

  • 5/5 Santhanalakshmi R. 4 years ago on Google
Taste is always good here. Can have only one meal, their quantity is good. They are good for the north Indian cuisine. I always love to have the crispy spicy baby corn fry and paneer tikka as starters. They are good in service. It's very cozy there in the cells. I usually bring my people here for good vegetarian food. There is only one drawback which I came to know only today, where the buffet is served one by one as per the day's menu but not to be shared and the servers are watching if we are sharing it or not which was not so good to be monitored when people are eating. Very sad to eat like thieves. We pay 499/person (unlimited) and we share what we pay for, why to monitor this? And he kept saying that this is not to be shared. I had the most privileged people from other parts of India, I really feel embarrassed to bring them here. We are ought to share if the taste is good and if the quantity is more, thereby I don't think it's something wrong to share. One simple suggestion to them is to make it limited and option to share rather keeping it unlimited and not to be shared.

I would give this as best places which I have visited. We ordered Lasagna , cheese related starters and fried rice. All of them are very tasty. I loved the way Lasagna was cooked. It was perfectly balanced with flavours and veggies and cheese. It is a must and definitely place to visit. And last but not the least is the ambience.. they have brought the feeling of serving in jail.. servers wear khaidi dresses.. manager wears a police uniform. Kids will surely enjoy the food and the feeling.

Decent restaurant. Inside jail kind of set up. Servers, cleaners were dressed like kaidi and others as jailors. Ambience is nice. Regarding food, starters are really good. Quite filling. Veg rice which they served was too salty. When told, they took it back and gave a new bowl of rice.. rectified it. Not too much wait for food. Main course taste is lesser when compared to starters. Regarding rates, some may feel it's high some may not. We felt they can reduce the charges a bit. Totally, good experience.

A place that cares least about customer relationship! Be well aware that the staff here isn't trained to handle unusual problems that are created by themselves. They misplaced our car keys that were given to them for valet parking. Something that happened after 10.30 pm. They were constantly in a rush to pack us off to our home in a cab, without arriving at a solution. We had to come up with suggestions and ideas to look for the key. As long as we were decent with them, they took us for granted. It was only when we raised our voices, threatened them with consequences, did the owner of the restaurant, who is based out of Kolkata, even bother to call back and speak on the matter(AFTER WE CONTINUOUSLY & DESPERATELY TRIED TO GET IN TOUCH WITH HIM). This was ONLY after 2 hours of us standing outside his restaurant beyond 12 midnight with our kids, all aged below 12 years. That was how sensitive and responsible he was towards the whole matter. The keys were found the next day. Where?? With one of their delivery guy, who had taken it my accident, THEY CLAIM. How?? I really have no clue. We were just relieved we got our car keys back. Happily and grateful for miracles, we left a message for the so called OWNER on the good news. Wasn't that THE appropriate thing to do? We didn't have to, after the ordeal he and his team put us through. Well, we haven't heard from him or his team. No apologies, no sorries!! It's sad to see such arrogance, indifference and callousness in an industry that thrives on customer satisfaction, humility and empathy. God save them!

This hotel will give a different vibes. Servers there dressed like prisoners and prison warden according to their theme of the hotel is really different. Food tastes good.

The food was nice. The desserts and other dishes were slightly on the costlier side. Good place to hang out with a family.

Food was really good. This restaurant is must to enjoy once in lifetime experience. Prison theme of the restaurant absolutely stunning to make your heart fall in love with it. The waiters will be wearing prisoners clothes and including managers wearing police superintendent clothes or similar ( I don't know ranking of police costume). We were 2 persons so unfortunately we were not able to order some dishes which was huge in quantity. They said it will be wastage of food which was absolutely right. Make sure when you visit there you have Atleast a group of 4 people and do you booking prior of going to dine there. OTHERWISE the place is much busy most of the times. Food was scrumptious even though we weren't able to order there special soups because of just 2 members. But every dish was lip smacking. Except pasta which wasn't value for money the taste was not that much good. Must try there Lychee punch. Adding some images to help you out with reviews. If you liked the review.. The food was good and had unique style. Generally hotter/spicier, even some of the bread varieties. Although it is an interesting choice for name and theme of the restaurant, it is a bit difficult to notice it from outside, especially in the night, due the greyness everywhere on the wall and the door.

😠 The food was good and the service was great. But I am giving a single star review because of an incident. I witnessed the person who was moping the floors stick his hand into the ingredients containers and eat the food. With the other hand he was still holding the mop which he was holding just a few...

👍👍 Very good place for vegeterian dishes A very good place for vegeterian dishes. Parotta would be very nice. North Indian dishes would taste very authentic. Positives: Tasty food Can be better:More options Negatives: Attitude of person taking order and Eco unfriendly cutlery.
