Update : In our recent visit we tried few indo chinese items , they tasted very good. Consistency in terms of quality and service is really keeping this place a top vegetarian restaurant in this area. _-----_ Excellent vegetarian restaurant. Everything we tried here tasted awesome. Service is very good even in peak time. Parking is a struggle here. Highly recommended !!

Chennai is seeing gentrification in the restaurant industry. The old Moghuls of the Vegetarian restaurant industries are slowly but surely being replaced by newer but polished newbies who want to show off their wares and they are doing it style. One of the new generation is Sree Akshayam. They have stormed the citadels of the old generation in style. They are bigger, better and packaged better. The quality of the food here is amazing be it the light snacks or starters , or tiffin varieties OR the meals. Everything here has a touch of class. I tried the amitabhojanam which is a special South India meal and what a meal it was !!!! It was a lip smacking which one must have and hit the bed immediately. I was stuffed. I have tried their idlis, dosais, vadas and puris on different days and nothing was disappointing. In fact every new dish was nice. The ambience is good, the ac was pleasant, the service was quick and nice. The staffs are friendly. The pricing is excellent. The only negative I had was during late lunch time (between 1.30 and 3 )the place is too crowded. So my advice will be to be there before 1pm.

I wouldn't even give 1 star to this restaurant. Everyone goes there thinking it's a good restaurant come on I've had the baddest experience ever. This restaurant has no concern or care towards their customers. No proper response at all. Honestly, tha restaurant should be taken down.

I recently dined at this restaurant, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! The restaurant offers ample seating, which is a big plus. The service was excellent, and the staff was attentive throughout the meal. As for the food, it was simply delicious. The ground floor restaurant is perfect for a quick lunch, while the first floor offers an elegant fine dining experience. Whether you're in the mood for a casual or upscale meal, this place has got you covered. I'll definitely be returning for more!

Very tasty south indian food. It is huge rush when i visited the place. Have to wait for my turn to get the place to dine in. But the quality and the taste of the food is excellent and ot is worth waiting. There is a limited parking facility available in front of the restaurant. The staffs are good but they are always busy due to the huge crowd inside. Lot of varieties to choose from. And the taste is superb.

Akshayam Veg Restaurant is located in Anna Nagar Santhi Colony. A great relief, there is plenty of car parking and two wheeler parking. Ethnic South food is served fast in the morning. Sambar looks different from other multi chain restaurants in chennai, but taste is adorable. Chutney variety is good taste wise. Missing AC. Dormatory type dining. No family room. Service was little slow, so hungry birds, please have your time cushion. I liked the food and it is acceptable.

We went to this place for lunch and it was but late around 03:30pm. The meals were closed at that time and we ordered fried rice, parotta, Chapathi and Chinese starters. The said the waiting time was 5 to 10 min but we waited for 20 to 25 min. Even our appetite was gone waiting for food. The atmosphere was good but the table was not cleaned properly. The food taste was bit average compared to other veg restaurants. There was ample parking for bike and cars. The price also bit too for the taste they provided.

The food here is yummy. The combo breakfast is the best for the price. I wonder how they provide such a great taste at a very less price. The place is so well organised, though there is a great crowd. Minimum wait time for service. Absolutely vegetarian food 😋. Clean restrooms. Valet parking is available.

The Mini Tiffin was filling and tasty. Good food for good and reasonable price. Mini tiffin includes 1 idly, 1 dosa, ven Pongal, 1 vada and tea/coffee.(sambar, coconut chutney and red chutney)

Evenings are the busiest hours at this place... Taste of the food is amazing and quantity is also very good. The price is pretty decent for economy preferred class... The food variety they serve are a lot and one will definitely be confused to choose from it... The family hall is available only after 7pm during the evening. The hall will be crowded and one have to wait for sometime. The family hall on 1st floor can hold upto 75 people and the hall get filled on the weekends and holidays only....

Based on reviews we went on saturday for lunch, both ground floor and first floor literally over crowded... We hv to gv name and wait for table... First floor u can get raja bhojan...literally dont hv space to wait it looks like travelling n local bus.. Waited almost 45 mins. Such a horrible experience, literally no ac at this hot season... Raja bhoja we ordered, they gv soup with one dired cool vada which served with sweet but they gv sweet to us aftr v asked..main meal except peas panner side dish for chappati, nothing is good... Its all below average... Poor customer service...Bad experience.. I never suggest for others its cost around 220 per person, which is not worth for that meal

Taste of food is good. Price also reasonable. But very crowded. So if you are going there to have your food, then first register your name with the person for seat allotment. A person will be there to note your name and count. You can wait outside or you can wait there itself.

Absolute must visit if one is in Chennai. First floor is air conditioned and the ground floor isn’t. Sit wherever you get a place and enjoy the traditional and innovative dishes. We ordered for Guntur Podi Idly, Idlis wrapped in banana leaf(forgot the dish name), Gobi Manchurian, Onion Rava Dosa and Spinach Dosa. Assortment of 3 different types of chutney and awesome sambar. Topped it off with horlicks 😀 Each and every dish was mouthwatering. We ate like glutton and it’s genuinely difficult to take even a few steps

Went there on a busy Sunday on Christmas Eve, there was waiting time of 10-15 minutes, tried their special items for the day. Most of the Dosas were really tasty, it is a pure vegetarian restaurant and offer wide range of North Indian and South Indian cuisines. Surely recommend if your want to try chennai cuisine.

Went into the place only after the rave reviews and the word of mouth this place has over a period from the locals. Tried out a few owing to their reputation, Kuzhi paniyaram and Paal paniyaram - Typical sour paniyaram with spicy dip for the first plate, decent enough; for the milk variant, it was soft, spongy and soaked in the sweet milk thereby giving a kick along every scoop Charminar idly and Pottalam Idly - Not sure what was the big deal in both; the former had spicy podi being smothered all around while the latter was literally a parcel idly with getti chutney and podi around, Disappointment Paya idly - The paya had too much salt with only sour flavor along every dip, slurpy yet not the best paya Set dosa with Vadacurry - What we thought was the layered dosa but came out was individual dosas with sides; the vadacurry was spicy and good but there was nothing much to appreciate on the whole Gobi manchurian - Semi gravy gobi tossed in mild spiced sauces; was one of the better dishes which was pretty much a snack Madurai Kolambu dosa - TBH, I don't think they served us right since this one came out as dosa with native gravies on the same, NO COMMENTS Mango milkshake - Something brain freezing to end the meal with So, it was sheer disappointment. Except for the paniyaram and vadacurry, this place was not what I thought it was. The only saving soul was the price despite ordering plenty of dishes. The service was OK, with little waiting time, ambience was MEH and GOOD parking space. 2/5 for the FOOD and 3/5 on the whole as a place.

It is one of the busiest yet a beautiful place for a dine in. It has a very quiet and nice ambience. They serve food with a mix of North and South Indian cuisines, and they serve only Veg. Its usually crowded during lunch. Their meals is very satisfying with sufficient quantity. And the Appam with coconut milk served also tastes good. Would recommend to go for a good family meal. The prices are economical and they have a pretty decent place for parking.

A 4.5 just for the mini tiffin... Right in the middle of Anna nagar and you have the mini tiffin at the rate of 42 rupees.. Mini dosa, vada, idly and Pongal with a mini coffee is more than enough. Other dishes are also great. If you are trying to be economical in Anna nagar, then this is the spot.

We went there on a saturday afternoon and our order was simple, a special meal. We were served with a Shorba to start with, it tasted good. The rhali came with butter roti and paneer gravy whoch were good. Sambar, vatha kolambu, side dishes everything was good. We finished with samba rava payasam and black current icecream. Overall good veg meal experience. The place was superb crowded, hence the ambience was not great.

This is one of the best vegetarian restaurants in chennai. The taste thy maintain across dishes is unbelievable. Each and every item in their menu is so tasty. Right from starters till desserts. Especially the milk shakes are too good. They have valet parking. They are not only good in dining foods but also the cakes and sweets sold. It is a bit costly but on compared to the taste and quality of food provided, it's worth of it.

Very bad tasting food. We took 3 Divya bhojanam - Rotis were cold, hard and too rubbery. - Sambar, Rasam, Curd, Kara Koshambu all were very sour. Endless waiting to serve as well. They don't live up to the hype that they have created.

Recently ordered food through Swiggy and they didn’t bother to pack the pappad and send it. They’ve simply thrown it on top of other packets. Their food quality is great. But they need to improve packing.

Worst experience..over priced...No quality for the money and bad service. The menu book is for 15 pages but no dish justifies the name. Returned burnt naan, they got back the same one. Food is not hot. For garlic naan, they sprinkle garlic powder on top which tastes worse...please do not waste your money and stomach

Ordered tea, coffee, horlicks from sree akshayam (t nagar) don't order hot beverages online - worst packing, less quantity, high rate Horlicks rate is very very high but not worthy to drink. it contains more milk less horlicks with no sugar It got spilled inside the cover and lid is not properly closed. very bad.

I have been coming here quite often. Nice clean place, usually crowded on weekends. Very good service and tasty food. But of late, the wear & tear of the place is showing up. Service and food is lacking the initial excitement. The care for details is missing. The maintenance of decor is lacking. Hope the owners take heed.

Used to be my favourite place to dine in. But looks like it's a place which I need to avoid, specially on weekends. Few of the dishes which I ordered tasted good and that's THE ONLY REASON for 2 Stars. Even though we went as a family at 8 PM in the night for Dinner, majority of the items in the Menu card (specially the signature dishes) were not available. Ordered a plate of Idly, Parotta, Chola Poori, Set Dosa Vadacurry and Podi idly. Chola Poori was delivered within 5 mins after order. Poori was good, but the sabji which came along with the poori was so small that couldn't suffice half the size of poori. Parotta and Podi idly got delivered in 12 mins after order. Parotta was so hard and small in size. Podi idly was good (only thing that I loved) Idly was delivered 30 mins after the order was placed. We went with our 2 year old and thought we can feed her Idly 1st, as it will be readily available. But pity her! She had to see us have our food and then have at the end. And the idly was not fully cooked Set dosa and Vadacurry took 40 mins of time. Faced the same issue as Chola poori (Vadacurry not sufficient for Set Dosa). And Set Dosa wasn't properly cooked either, as there were dough patches in the middle. Overall, Akshayam lacks the quantity and quality which it once had (before corona) . Definitely not worth the cash. And majority of the dishes in the Menu are missing Akshayam - A complete let out

Nice food. Pure veg restaurant in the near by location. There are not many options of pure veg restaurants as it is near the industrial area. Food was great, hygiene and cleanliness were up to the mark. Prices are also moderate.

Sweets are too good in taste at nominal rate. Had Idlys on Wednesday good taste. Set Dosai and Vadacurry are the Best. Had Nellore Podi Idly, ecstasy in mouth. But the Kaima parotta are the worst part. No taste.. parottas are not fully cooked and it is not juicy, it's very dry and so that I cannot complete it. Returned the food

Nice place to have south indian, north indian and Chinese dishes. Rates are nominal. Only thing is need to wait to get table.
