A good chinese restaurant around Porur. It is located on the 1st floor above Bata. The ambience was great and had a cozy chinese vibe. We ordered Burnt Garlic Chicken Fried Rice, Dragon Chicken and a Black Pepper Chicken. All had the authentic chinese flavour to it. The garlic flavour in the fried rice was too mild and the dragon chicken was a bit dry. Overall it was delicious. Thanks to the waiter mentioning that the fried rice serves 2. It was more than enough for 2 of us. The service was good too. They were very humble and polite. Seems a bit overpriced but overall it's worth the money. Would highly recommend if you want to try out an all chinese menu.

Have seen some good reviews about this place so want to try this for a team lunch. We ordered soups, starters, fried rice and noodles. Fried rice and starters are pathetic, never had a food like this. None of these items tastes good, less salt and lacks taste. Veg manchurian is very hard to break. I raised this as an issue to that waiter and he said its their best seller. customer service at its worst. Verdict: The Chinese Story - The End.

Was ordering for the first time from The Chinese Story after tasting some Hunan chicken a colleague had shared over lunch. And I am really impressed! The quantity can easily serve 2 or 3 people and the food tastes lip-smacking good! Ordered some chicken Hakka noodles with the Hunan chicken. That Classical Chinese flavour with celery and chilli sauce is so evident. Thanks a lot guys. Loved the food!

Ordered soup on zomato and found few houseflies in it. I called up the restaurant and addressed the issue but no response from their side.

Was expecting a lot. We loved the ambience, look and feel. Was excited to see some Thai food in the menu, which turned out to be a disappointment. Was too much of ginger in the red curry. The egg fried rice was too much rice and too little vegetables and egg for the quantity of rice. Dragon chicken was only saving grace.

Great place for Chinese (localised though) food. The food tastes great and the service is excellent. Decent ambience too... The chef was ready to prepare dishes that wasn't listed in the menu. He even customised the items based on our request. All the items are moderately priced, and the quantity of the food served is sufficient for two (you may need to pack if visiting the place alone). Not enough parking space for cars during peak hours (space only for 5 cars that's shared by two restaurants and a pub). Overall, a great place to consider if you are dining in a group with limited budget.

Quality and quantity are great. The black pepper chicken is a must try here. Not to forget the desserts, the courteous staff and that ambiance man! it is really good. It is the nearest and it has ample bike parking space if you go before 8 pm.

Good place with great ambience and amazing food . The staff helped us well with suggestions and in knowing what we were ordering. It's a great place to spend quality time with friends or family. They have a good array of Chinese dishes and we enjoyed it.

Totally disappointed with the way the service guy behaved right from the time they took the order. Absolutely disrespectful and delayed every order - The owner of the restaurant has to intervene if he really needs the outlet to run successfully. The staff need to be courteous especially when we bring hungry kids for dinner. The taste of the food was good but could not be enjoyed as it was too delayed as well. Literally, the waiter asked us to leave the restaurant while checking about the delay. Absolute NONSENSE! My kids star bday dine-out ended badly cos of these !

I'm glad that I found this place. The quantity of the food was just mind blowing. Loved their whatever was ordered. Service was good too. Ambience is neat and clean. Chinese food lovers got to try this place. I'm definitely visiting them again.

Very poor customer service and rude behaviour. There were only 2 waiters and both of them weren’t attentive and couldn’t even answer our concerns. The restaurant wasn’t busy since most of the order’s were from Swiggy and Zomato. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for a dine in as it lacks basic customer service. May be this is the reason most of the orders were from swiggy bcos if you visit this restaurant once you won’t come back. Even though, the food was great and the quantity was more than expected. The restaurant should work on the customer service.

I had these dishes before in swiggy, trusting the taste we went in today Sunday. They were seriously under staffed only one server and a manager ,managing 8 tables and 40 people. Food took horribly late almost 35min for anything u order. Food taste is not worth filling, not as per any reviews written by others. Ambience - do not expect the aircon to work, Service was chasing an animal to ur requests. No parking available. IF U ARE PRO CHINESE LIKER ,PLS AVOID THIS OUTLET

Earlier was near dlf the ambience there was way to good and the food served was worth the price , reduced one star overall after shifting the place felt the cost has increased quantity is little less

During lunch, the place is pretty much empty. The ambience could be little better. However, the food was great. All the flavours just popped out. Shanghai chicken, Tom yum soup were highlights. Prices are nominal too. Bill was around Rs.1400, for 3 people to eat hearty.

Food is ok. Service is not upto the mark. When i visited there was only 2 suppliers who was managing the entire hotel. Food taste is good. Ambience is also nice

The taste and quantity was very good but the restaurant bathrooms were not that much good and it has such a calming atmosphere to relax yourself and with your family , it was a good place but the restaurant is not it's low time now and yeah ultimately it is a good place for 2-4 PPL if the bathroom were large and clean ( only common bathrooms ) thank you .

Good food - enjoyed the spicy chicken for appetizers, satay was underwhelming. For main course, chop suey, garlic chicken noodles, spicy shrimp, Hakka noodles were popular with the family. The shrimp fried rice was a little dry. For dessert, everyone enjoyed the fried ice cream.

The entrance is not difficult to find. Next to bata showroom porur. The place is beautiful. Chinese theme. Great for team treat. Starter were the best.. Do try them. Expensive but quantity they give us more. Enough for 2 persons. So order wisely. Desserts costly but good. Starters are the main Game players...

Good Asian eatery in the locality. Their menu is good and has lot of options. Pros : taste of food is good or even better than most other Chinese/Thai eateries around. Quantity is almost double. You can have 2 people eat 1 portion of noodles with one main dish. Their taste and quality is consistent through the last 3 years. Cons: very minimal parking space. Crowded mostly during dinner time and on weekends. Must try: almost all Thai foods available here.

I ordered a mixed burnt garlic fried rice. The part I love the most is it’s not oily. The vegetables are crunchy, taste is subtle/original and quantity is abundant (enough for 2 hungry people).

One of the best Chinese restaurants in & around Porur. Had ordered Nanking chicken noodles, Schezwan chicken chopsey & Dragon chicken for 3 of us & we really loved the authentic Chinese taste especially Nanking chicken noodles and Dragon chicken were one of its kind here & tasted very good! Special mention to their exemplary service as we rang up at around 2.50 pm to check availability but manager Babu was so courteous that he took orders over phone as restaurant closes by 3 pm & he ensured that before restaurant closes & by the time we arrived, the food just got prepared! Haven't come across such pleasing service who will go to any extent to cater to customers. Also waiter Laxman was very friendly & courteous. Their portions are huge & one main course sufficiently serves two adults. Highly recommended! Parking will be a bit of an issue as they don't have dedicated space but security will guide you to park your vehicle at available spots at or near this restaurant pretty conveniently
