It’s a vegetarian hotel famous for yesteryear cine stars frequently visiting this hotel. Taste was average, ambience also takes us back to 1980s One of the unique thing is that they serve ice cream after the meal. Ample car parking space is available

The retro lodging is well maintained and rooms are big and clean. The room has a veranda with a nice retro work table. The bathroom too is big. Drawback is that, there is no kettle in the room for early morning tea coffee. Room service will not start till 7:00AM. The complementary breakfast started at 7:15 instead of 7:00AM. Very very convenient for US VISA visits, which is very close by-both VISA Application Center and the consulate

The food is great. Amazing vegetarian food for all meals. However the rooms are really bad. Lots of mosquitoes, very bad rooms. The blankets smell, not sure if it's cleaned regularly. Very old appliances in the rooms. Hot water was also an issue. Seemed pricey for horrible service. I suggest Park for staying which is way more luxurious and value for money.

Recently had been to a wedding reception at this hotel. Not a great place to conduct weddings. Location of this hotel is in the heart of Chennai. Traffic is a major issue to reach the venue in time. 4 wheeler parking is limited. 2 wheeler parking is very limited. So, if you are thinking of taking your own vehicle, plan it in advance. Else, use public transport. Food: (This review is limited to the food served in the wedding reception.) Not great. They serve pickles first in a wedding reception dinner 🀦🀦. I have seen sweets served first, everywhere else. Serving attendants are very limited. So, you basically wait for quite some time before the next dish is served. Not at all impressed.

Food today served by this restaurant for the programs organized in their premises comparatively lesser taste and below std. The employees are some kind of urgency never heared of the guest call in the dinning hall. Past glory cannot be substituted .

They have a good traditional restaurant that serves traditional Indian breakfast, lunch and dinner. I've had break fast here, it's pretty good and will be rejoiced more by people who like Karnataka style food. Their portion size's are good. I haven't stayed here so can't comment on the rooms.

To find wallet-friendly spacious rooms with large washrooms at the centre of a fast-growing city like Chennai is a blessing for travellers! A large parking area, a tasty restaurant and a cosy permit room enhance the stay experience! The choice of banquet halls and a vast lawn make this hotel an ideal place to conduct events!

Have been coming since I was a kid. Food is good But unfortunately service- very very bad. Just a tip - If you want to test if your fiance or boyfriend has anger issues, get them here. If they manage to not be angry, then it’s a go πŸ‘

We stayed in this hotel for a week in November 2023. Breakfast was decent and the location is okay. 24-hr check out is convenient. These are the only positives. This is an absolutely outdated and old hotel with horrible service. Room cleaning is not regularly and you have mosquitoes in the room. Wi-fi is a joke. I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

It's very famous and well-known hotel. Buy for lunch, service is not really good. Food served late and you have to wait for each time to ask rice during lunch. Best before 1.30pm, after that, difficult to get good food and service.

It's just wonderful... The open lawn is really beautiful and awesome to have parties.. We are invited to attend the wedding reception party and it was really amazing.. We enjoyed a lot here.. The arch for stage programme is designed very beautifully. The garden is filled with grass, it is so nice to walk on the grass.. And in the large grass area, there is an artificial stream which makes it more attractive.. On the other side, they have arranged for dining of the guests.. It was really good πŸ‘

Went to meet my friend who was staying there. Front ambiance was very good and ample parking slots. But while walking in the lobbies for going to room it was stinking & smell was awful..!!! (surprising for a 3 star rated hotel as per google). Management need to look into it. Restaurant was ok and service was also good.

One of the iconic hotels in Chennai .. The restaurant is good, the afternoon veg meal is very good and reasonably priced for their standard. The best part is that ample parking is available, this is the major concern in that part of the city. Some day I would like to visit their bar.

This place is still a landmark. The restaurant is very famous still people give names and wait for their turn. I went for a get-together in party hall 2nd floor. Only issue they still got old infrastructure, window AC. which was not sufficient for the hall. They shld upgrade n facilities can be improved.

Rooms are very big. The bathrooms are double the size of other bathrooms in similar hotels. So many people have complained about old furniture, old AC, old fan, old fashioned interior. If you want to get nostalgia, this hotel is good. Even though old fashioned the furniture are quite good in quality. The rooms are very clean.

Poorly maintained room and bathroom with stained walls and tiles and other fittings. Hot water from the solar heater came after wasting tens of liters of cold water. There were mosquitos in our AC room but no support from the front desk for any solution like coil/mat/spray. Breakfast spread was good. Excellent location for US visa interview and biometrics.

We had a very vibrant reception at Hotel Palmgrove, indeed a very lucky place to conduct your marriage and reception as told by many whom I invited for the reception. It's a vegetarian hotel, and the food we selected was excellentπŸ₯° Venue: Green luscious lawn which was stunning with all the lights and decoration. Anyone who sees the lawn reception would instantly want to hold their reception there. Food: We went with a North Indian menu with masala dosa as extra and pani puri stalls. The grape juice was the star of the menu, and many complimented the addition of fresh grapes. The masala dosa was hot and tasty with the chutney and the kannada style sambar. We had roti as we felt the butter naan which they put for a previous event was rubbey and not easy to cut, the paneer butter masala was ok, the channa masala and poori was superb, veg biriyani with raita which was mildly spiced with raita was good, thayir vada was also good but the size was a bit small though, ultimate was the hot jamun with vanilla ice cream. Pani puri was average. Decoration: We selected Mr. Sarangan for the decor and mala, excellent choice. We had curated our own backdrop, merging different ones from his past events and the Internet. We wanted a quirky board and all white remo arch. Everyone complimented the backdrop, and he had executed our vision to reality. Service: The service staff at the buffet was very courteous, and they even prayed for the rain to stop so that we could enjoy our grand reception hosted at the beautiful lawn. Such a stunning venue it is!!! We took the risk to book what if it rains.....it did rain for 1 hour and few were unable to come from far away places due to heavy traffic, after 7pm people started to arrive and the dance floor was filled throughout the event. It was so grand and beautiful that everyone enjoyed and complimented the venue and food. We enjoyed our reception alot. The bride and groom from the other hall took pictures in front of our decorations. It was that beautiful. Pros: Beautiful lawn, decoration, spacious venue, food service staff. They do provide a backup hall in case of sudden rains for events at the lawn. We were told in case of continuous rains we can change the dates as well. Cons: We had a drizzle on sep 2 and since the rain stopped in an hour people arrived and the water was completely absorbed by the lawn. They quickly dried the chairs and started buffet by 7.15pm. Luckily did not have any raining after that. During balance payment we were informed that the event on sep 3 had continuous rains & was difficult. So be informed about the weather and decide on the venue.

Great place to dine with family. Quality and clean and affectionate service. Ample car parking. Place to have a relaxed food with family and friends at the centre of the city

The only good thing was the place where it is located. I stayed there to attend my visa interview. The consulate office and biometrics centre were only walkable distance. I booked a deluxe double room, but I have never got a feel of a deluxe room, the room and bed were so old fashioned. I have asked them to clean the room when I went out, but they haven't done that when I came back. They gave me single blanket and i asked for a double blanket, but they told it was not available.

Surprised to see, how the owner is running this hotel buy own. I mean no listing on bookemitrip like website. For booking you have to visit the hotel website only. Positive point is if you check in at night 9:00 p.m. your check out time will be 9 pm next day.

When we went to this restaurant on 26/12, to have our dinner, the dishes which we ordered were worst except idly and dosa. The chenna supplied for Sola poori had a bad smell and it's very old stock which carries dead insects inside the chenna. While asking about this they are acting well innocent. Don't go there hereafter for the name sake of palm grove.😭

Seeing some reviews on Google, I came here to have breakfast. I ordered a plate of idlies and vada. Honestly, it is the most pathetic idli vada I ever had in my life. The idli was rough and grainy, doesn't pass through your throat unless you have a lot of sambar along with it. The vada is even more lousy. Full of oil, but not at all crispy. The outer layer instead of being crispy felt soggy and rubbery. The chutney too was made with over mature hard coconut. The sambar was the only saving grace. Service too is very poor. Had to wait 10 mins for a guy to attend my table. Nobody bothered to even serve water. Will never visit this place even if they offer free breakfast. The cost is very high. Rs 70 for 2 idlies and Rs.60 for a single menu vadai.

Good old fashioned vegetarian dining experience. Had lunch. The AC cools down the side dishes. Maybe they can be served on demand. Would definitely recommend it for South Indian cuisine

Food always has an emotion attached to it and its very much similar in case of this hotel. I have been going here since my childhood. Its a very famous hotel in chennai and the quality is always good . Good ambience and polite staff as well. I feel always positive (but covid negative)when I go to this hotel.

I am being staying in this hotel for 8 to 9 times in this last 2 years. I stayed on 01.11.2022 But this time i had a very bad experience Lots of mosquitoes in room , while check in before handing over the keys, they should ensure that basic necessities are inside the rooms. But nobody is cared for it. Very poor room service. Room they provided also not in a good condition Receptionist confirms that our hotel is like this only we have we very less people. Will they agree if they are paid less than the tariff for annoying service given by them

The service was not good as it used to be. Food is good, but one dish I was looking forward to have boiled vegetables with ghee was really bad. In my opinion this hotel is for those who like it, the current generation wouldn't really prefer. My suggestion, this hotel is best for meals and tiffins. I always like there breakfast buffet.

Attended a meeting in Vaishali Hall. Old model but spacious. Buffet lunch was served. Not upto the mark. The meals served in the restaurant tastes much much better. South Indian meals best enjoyed served on a plantain leaf.

Very spacious rooms, almost a waste. AC was not exactly great, though adequate. Alternatives are available at lower price. Staff are friendly. Lunch was sumptuous. Other food items was costly. Located very close to US biometric centre.

Go to Palmgrove if you want digestion problems, cold tasteless food, and old Govt office service. Palmgrove used to be a wonderful place. But it is now an excellence of a past era. Menaka Urvashi resources used to serve piping hot tasty food, but now, less said the better. The service by Murugesan and Arumugham was so substandard, it felt like they were not at all interested in giving us food at all. To the management of Palmgrove- please do not apoil the high reputation of your place, and disappoint your well wishers and clientele.

Went for Dine in Dinner with friends. Very shabby atmosphere. Most of the items in the Menu Card not available. The Order Taking very bad and further additional orders not enquired at all. Overall waste of Money. The Hotel has lost its charm and taste, which was there decades ago.

Located in the city centre, most convenient for reaching business houses. Good quality of vegetarian food, easily reachable. Rooms are spacious and homely, good value for the money

Definitely not a place to stay for the price that is paid. We paid around 3200 for a night. The hotel lobby looked extremely shabby. Rooms were extremely primitive and all the facilities were outdated. Cleanliness was barely adjustable. Appliances were not working which we had to request for repair. Food served is not very fresh. Overall there are other nearby lodgings offering better quality at a little higher price.

Hot water supply is not available for early morning bathers. I did complain to Reception to see and fix. Rooms need a better maintenance free from Lizards and cockroaches.A hot water kettle and tea cofee kit should be made available as the restaurant service starts at 7am only. Management to kindly look into it.
