A small place to have an all-day breakfast menu. They also have lunch varieties. The ambiance is perfect and the service is friendly. It's located on the first floor. All the dosa and Idly varieties tasted so well. Do try podisa and mini poori.

Great place to catch a breakfast. Very different menu and every dish was available. Tried their signatures, poondu kozhambu idly and Tawa fried podi idly and a very decent filter coffee. The waitress Kasthuri was the sweetest and she explained a lot of things I was quizzing about.

We stumbled upon this restaurant looking for having some snacks in the evening. It is a relatively small restaurant which can seat around 10 people at a time. It seemed that we are the only one who was there. Rest of the orders are from Zomato and swiggy. The staff was courteous and we ordered keerai vadai, thayir idly and javvarasi adai. The food was really good and oil free. The price was pretty cheap too when compared to other veg restaurants around. Will definitely visit again.

Tried Koozh Dosa, Podisa (special square shaped thick dosa), Podi Idli and they're good. Koozh Dosa is just Rava Dosa and Podi Idli, Dosa were very spicy! Mini Puris were great though. Prices are reasonable and service is decent. (Previous) Tried Vella Dosa, Mor Kali, Keerai Vadai here through online order and they're okay. Also, prices are a bit high for the quantity provided.

Nice place for good tasty food. Located near the main road and is accessible for all bu walk from nearby metro and bus stands. Podi idly is a must try and is spicy. Chepankazhangu fry is too good and can be snacked by all. Panagam is nice as well. Parking is available on the streets. Since it's a isolated place parking on street is not an issue.

Food is okay. Not great. But not bad too. However, the coconut chutney we got served was stale. When we pointed it out, they served us kara chutney instead. And ghee came with a piece of aluminium foil! Masala dosa and poori took a long time to be served! Price is okay. Ambience is very good. Menu variety is also good. I'd give 2 stars, but I'm giving 3 cos the lady who served us was active and smiling. Hope food is better the next time.

A place which is only meant to be takeaway/delivery since the whole ambience is definitely not THE PLACE. Stepped in with little expectations since this was on the list for a long time. They have got a long list of idlies with native TN delicacies. Tawa fried butter podi & green chilli idli - Loads of masala & curry leaves tossed in spicy seasoning; WOW, buttery on the whole but the latter had raw spice from the chillies, GOOD Mixed veg fries - Deep fried fritters with capsicum, potato etc tossed with curry leaves, again!! Goes well as a snack Ghee podi idli on Poodu kozhambu - Slightly sour but too strong and the combination might not go well with a few; the gravy was coarse to munch it in Mor Kozhambu idli - A bit salty gravy with the same base, yet another twist with the gravy Sennaikizhangu fries - Too good bite-sized pieces with crunchy texture on the outside with some softness on the inside Self-service spot with nothing to offer on the ambience part; off-street parking with very basic embellishment. The price is the best thing about this place since every dish is marked up at affordable pricing. *Personal rating would be a 3.5

It was really amazing to have the seppagizhangu roast once again. With a special crispy layer. Their morekali and keeravadai are to be tasted for their authentic traditional style preparation. Will be prepared in front of your eyes once you order and served directly straight from the oven. Excellent customer service and remembering your preference if you are a regular customer. A visit is a must if you are a foody and like tradition and trend mixed perfectly.

To be Frank, I was worried about the cost and taste as I was visiting today for the 1st time, because of the locality and the way of Hotel presentation. After ordering waited for a while, and then the person brought me the Mini Lunch which I ordered for dine-in Rs.120. After consuming the food, OMG... It tasted so good and worth for money paid. Hotel Ambience was not like normal hotel, but sure it was Hi-fi. I believe most ppl nearby AshokNagar area order via Swiggy, as with 20mins of my lunch time I saw 8-10 food delivery gentlemen crossing me, while I was eat.. I have suggested my officemates to visit this hotel, and they were shocked. They Questioned me, do they prepare Rice and lunch items, because I too felt it would be like McD or Pizza hut. But reallity was, lunch taste like home cooked foods.. Thanks Idlies Hotel.

What a simple, homely, delightful experience! Turned up at this warm little place at Ashok Nagar for lunch along with my parents and grandparents. We were promptly attended to by Shekhar who ran us through the menu. Feasted on Morekali, Vethakozhambu sadam, Paruppu sadam, Molagakozhambu sadam and Avial. The best of the lot, however, was the golden Seppankanzhangu (Colocasia) roast, which demanded a repeat serving. Topped all of this off with a refreshing serving of Panagam (please add this to the menu). All of this at extremely reasonable prices. A bit of work in making the space cleaner (and possibly - bigger) would be perfection. Top meal. Big thanks to the team for delivering a happy experience.

Don't go by its name, House of Idlis. Because not only awesome varieties of Idlis available here, but also options of pocket friendly, yummy meals and tiffin items are ready to fulfill your 'Bon Appetite'. The side dishes they give with meals are highlight of the meal. Home like taste. I loved their Sambar, Vathakolambu, Arabi Fry and Masala Vada they served with the meal. Food Coma guaranteed after the 'Sapaad'. Staff is friendly and prompt.

The reviews were good when we were searching for breakfast options. But they also mentioned that this was a place to order from, not so much to eat. But we took our chances. Go Podified is hard to translate. It's inscribed on the tshirts of the cooks in the kitchen. Podi is the spicy powder mixed with oil that idli goes well with. So we ordered the kozhukattai - the daily special , the thayir idli (podi idli soaked in curds) onion uthappam and coffee. The kozhukattai - a steamed dish made out of rava or semolina was brittle and crumbled easily. It went well with both sambar and chutney The thayir idli had a strong sourness along with the spice. That should have been toned down But the uttapam made up for lost ground. The chillies on the top had more flavour than heat. And it was not too thick, like it tends to be conventionally. If you like it soft and thick, inform them The coffee was good but one tends to be spoiled for choice in Chennai - and nitpicking The place had 10 tables and half of them were occupied. A loud family gathering was in session and they were having fun. It could be a little cleaner but the billing and serving lady had a quick smile and handled orders pleasantly. The sign on the side of the restaurant is huge but it's so high up and the other signs on the building tend to overshadow it completely. That needs to be fixed but otherwise this is a nice, uncomplicated breakfast experience

Visited Idlies for a dinner night with my family. Wonderful compact menu with decent amount of varieties. Podi Idli, ghee roasted podi Idli, dosa, somas, and sambar idli were top notch. Very affordable prices. The location is quite easily accessible. The only disappointment was the ambience. I would recommend ordering via food delivery apps instead.

Tried full kattu on a Sunday. Variety of items and very good taste. Packing is worth it. While you order 1 meal sufficiently 2 persons could have it without any doubt. Prices are little high, 320 in swiggy and 270 at counter. I don't understand this gap. Rest others are good and must try

Taste is very good. Around 16 people can sit for dining. Staffs behaviour is good. Prices are on little higher side. No problem for parking, as vehicles can be parked in road itself.

This place have great organic down south touch to their recipes... The place is clean... Quite a small one... Costs ₹300 for 2 people.. it has a homely atmosphere.. all the dishes they serve are health conscious... Instead of juice they serve chilled PANAGAM & BUTTERMILK... THAYIR PODI IDLI &VELLA DOSA is a most recommended dish...

  • 4/5 Balaji V. 2 years ago on Google
The place was small, caters mostly to swiggy or zomato than regular dine ins. The taste and presentation of the food was awesome. Taste too was very unique. Only problem: they seem a lot like amatures. Could be more professional. We had to wait more than 30mins to get our food.. But, that gave a much homely feel. Do visit for their unique taste and presentation of the food.

Have been a big fan of "Idlies" brand right from their formative years. Authentic, homely, easy on the tummy and 100% yummy is how I would describe every dish there. Recently, I arranged for daily meals (for 2 weeks) to be delivered for my parents. They loved it! They were very happy with the variety and quality of food. Even though some items like mor kalli were totally new to our cuisine (we are malayalees), they loved it and looked forward to receiving the "idlies delivery" every day. Big thanks to Team Idlies.

We had ordered butter fried podi idly and sambar idly. And it was very spicy that me and my colleague had abdominal pain for 2 days straight. Very bad experience.

  • 4/5 Anshul S. 1 year ago on Google
It can accommodate max 10 persons as mostly people came there for takeout apart from Swiggy and Zomato. Price wise is not expensive but taste is very good for the items ordered. You may experience some delay as lot of orders simultaneously are being prepared for the takeout.

The ambiance is okay. Could be renovated a bit. The prices are so high literally got a Vada for 75 INR. The taste of mini meals is good except for rasam which was salty. Not to mention Chair could be Even more comfortable. Change of chairs can be done. The snacks food items were good. Give it a try!!!

Very rude and offensive staff. The store's name is "IDLIES" so went in to ask if I can take away idlies, but the guy in counter was very rude and aggressive. I was in a hurry as I was searching food for my sick mother else I would have called the owner and made him answerable. Such places must be boycotted and made to go out of business only than they will understand how to talk to guests. A restaurant with rude staff is strictly unacceptable. No matter how good the food is, you are not giving it for free. Have some humility in what you do. I honestly don't know how the owner has trained his folks.
