The location shown in Google maps is incorrect. Today we wasted 2 hours trying to locate this place. An obscure article on the web showed the temple is actually located near the Velleeswarar temple in Maangadu. Hoping to visit the temple at its correct location soon.

A six week worship is practice in the temple .Devotees choose any one day in a week to begin the worship with lime fruit and continue the same for six weeks on the same day of the week to realize their wish. Unmarried girls offer prayers to the goddess to find a better match and this prayer applies to men also .Those couples who are not blessed with a child can visit the temple on Fridays and they should tie a tiny cradle in the sanctum sanctorum of Mangadu Kamakshi either on the first or the sixth Friday.Men and women who are unemployed or those seeking for good employment opportunities can be blessed with a good job if they vist Mangadu Kamakshi Amman temple on Tuesdays and worship the goddess. Visit the temple for 6 Tuesdays continuously and get be blessed with a good satisfactory job opportunity.

Mangadu is about 20 Kms from Chennai. Goddess Parvathi as Kamakshi performed Tapas on sacred fire to reunite with Lord Shiva. Pleased with the Tapas, Lord Shiva asked Kamakshi to come to Kanchipuram to reunite through wedlock. The penance of the Goddess left behind lot of heat and discomfort to people of Mangadu. Adi Shankaracharya consecrated the Ardameru Chakra, which reduced the heat and made it comfortable for people. Devotees throng the temple to overcome obstacles and ensure weddings happen in the family. Temple Timings 5.45am to 1.30 pm and 4 pm to 8 pm on all days except Tuesday , Friday and Sunday during which temple is open from 5 am to 8.30 pm.

ஶ்ரீ காமாட்சி அம்மன் திருக்கோயில், மாங்காடு!!! Well maintained temple. Car parking available in the left side of the temple tower. Around 10-12 cars shall b parked. There are two entrances, one facing the main road. Many small shops are there in from thr temple premises. Inside the temple, it is very clean. General darshan, ₹20 darshan and ₹50 darshan available. ₹5 for archanai and ₹10 to be paid for offering Saree to goddess Sree Kamakshi. Inside the main karbagraham, it is maintained cool and has many wall mount fans.

Very old temple and have been visiting since my childhood. Very powerful temple and a must visit place. If you visit with beliefs for 6 weeks things will be successful and prayers are answered. Roads are small and limited parking available.

Visited after 11am on a Saturday. We had crowd and had to wait in queue for 1hr in the 50rs darshan ticket. The crowd was there due to Purnima day. The temple officials could be more friendly and take more care of the queue since many PPL were just allowed directly through special permissions. Besides temple is unique and beautiful deity to worship for. Paid Parking facilities are also available for 4 wheelers✌️

One of the temples around Chennai border areas, it is about 10 km from chennai Porur Junction. Road from porur is good for travel in 2 or 4 wheeler. Temple is very neatly maintained. Kamakshi amman sight and blessing was Devine. General queue has minor crowd on weekends and public holiday. Try the Rs 50 ticket for quick darshan which will take you 10 minutes max on non festival days. 4 wheeler parking is available but for very few vehicles, Road near the temple is very narrow. Better to park about 100 meters from temple and walk.

It's an old temple and Ardha Meru chakra installed by Adi Shankaracharya is there. Calm and peaceful atmosphere. But everywhere I saw only Tamil boards, including the temple name. If the boards are displayed in English too, it will be of much help for people like me. To know about the temple and many such information. I hope the authority of the temple will look into this aspect.

Very powerful and peaceful amman kovil. Sitting after dharshan is currently not allowed due to COVID, but if you go during the week, you can see the main deity in under 10 minutes. No lines at all.

In the temple, a six-week worship cycle is observed. To fulfil their request, devotees begin their devotion with lime fruit on any day of the week and continue doing so for six weeks on the same day. Unmarried girls pray to the goddess in order to find a better partner, and this prayer also includes men. Couples without children are welcome to visit the temple on Fridays and should tie a miniature cradle in Mangadu Kamakshi's inner sanctuary on either the first or sixth Friday. If they visit the Mangadu Kamakshi Amman temple on Monday, men and women who are unemployed or seeking good work chances might be blessed with a decent job.

Devotional place Easy transporation and parking available The famous belief request in spiritual practice here is giving milk to people by devoties for 9 weeks will make your dreams come true The Mangadu Kamakshi Amman Temple is a famous pilgrim destination hindu temple dedicated to goddess parvathi, located in mangadu, a suburb of chennai, india. The term Mangadu means "Mango Forests or Mango Groves" and as the term implies this must have been a thickly wooded Mango groove in times of yore.

We have visited on New year day and we're waiting in the queue for almost 2 hours.Temple ll be fully crowded on auspicious days. Queue management is not good and the management can try to be more friendly with people in addressing their queries/issues. They are allowing everyone in the special dharshan ticket (Rs.50) and so it is becoming difficult for elders and kids . BUT THE TEMPLE IS DIVINE AND IT IS DEFINITELY WORTH WAITING IN THE QUEUE FOR WORSHIPPING KAMAKSHI AMMAN.

The temple was manitained well! It was pretty rush when we visited , they have special dharshan tickets 20rs and 50rs. There is no enough parking spots , have to use the road side parking. Be sure not to park and block any doorways.

Such a divine place to visit. Singing the hymns of Kamakshi Amman will bring in prosperity, good health and peace of mind. Fridays, Tuesdays and Sundays are usually crowded. If you want to have a close look at Ambal, then, other days apart from the aforementioned would be ideal. Happy Darshan!

Peaceful, small and clean temple for Sri Kamakshi, incarnation of Sri Parvathi. Temple is open all day on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. If we worship for a particular reason like job, own house, marriage, child birth, we have to visit this temple six weeks on the same day every week. Offer two lemon to temple, they will give one after worship and we need to keep safe in Pooja room/shelf. Next week, we need to take it back and offer it to God. We buy two new lemon during every visit. In the last week, people prepare hot milk and sugar at home and bring it to temple. After neivedhyam or nevedhanam, priest will give it to us and it will be distributed to follow visitors to temple. Our wish will be fulfilled by offering this prayer is a belief among visitors.

Temple was crowded. Took one hour for darshan. Temple is in tiny lanes. No GPay and Phonepe is available with temple adminstration only cash. Even in 2023 temples are accepting cash only. God knows what's the reason behind this. Parking available.

Went to this temple recently; its really big, there are special entry options such as 20 rs Q, 50 rs Q as well (Archana seat to be bought for archanais) Main Dharshan waiting time (on Sunday morning in 20rs Q) - 45 mins to 1 hour For other small sanathis- 15 to 20 mins (Madam was also there with good amount of cows) Prasadham: to the left side of the main sanathi entrance, we got badham milk as free prasadham Shops details: 1 book shop inside temple, good flower shops as well as Pooja things shops near main entrance Also we had breakfast at srinivas bhavan near to temple, family friendly (all other hotels in that area were too small, Balaji bhavan was occupied) Photos are not allowed inside temple 🚫
