Sri Uthara Guruvayurappan's temple is in the 2nd Main Road of Ramnagar, Nanganallur. It is a walkable distance(less than 5 mts walk) from Sri Anjaneyar temple(32 ft), Sri Bagavathy Amman temple, Dakshina Mantralaya Sri Guru Raghavendra swamy brindavan, Sri Varasakthi Vinayagar temple and Sri Lakshmi Hayagreevar temples. The main deity is Sri Guruvayurappan ( Krishnar). It has also houses the following sannadhis - Sri Vinayagar, Ayyappan, Sri Venkateswara Swamy, Sri Bagavathy Amman, Navagraham? etc.. It is constructed as per Kerala type. Very clean n neat. They are doing ganapathy homam, thulabaram, annaprasanam etc as was being done in Guruvayoor. Every year they will do Dhanvantri homam also for the welfare of the devotees. Daily morning n evening they wl do Sri velli( swamy Guruvayurappan will go round tbe temple inside). Now because of Covid 19, devotees are not allowed to go close to Swamy n stopped abt 15 fts distance. They are not doing ashtothra archanai now. However they accept flowers only). While entering they positioned a person who wl give sanitizers n u will not be allowed to go round pradakshinam nnamaskarams. It is being managed by a body called Guruvayurappan asthika samajam n one can become a member. It is a members temple. Before entering all the male devotees will be advised to remove their shirts, banians. It houses ayurvedic hospital( photo attached) during specific timings, free of cost. It has one mandap called Narayana Pravachana Mandap( photo attached) in which music programmes, cultural programmes, small functions like Upanayanam, marriage engagement programmes can be conducted n in the first floor dining hall is available. It has kosala also. It is a divine place n you will feel the divinity on entering. Recommends all Hindus to visit n feel for themself. Cars n two wheelers can be parked in the nearby roads.

A serene temple with a cow shed and a manadapa nearby. Male devotees are requested to take off their shirts and vests before entering induce the temple. Here we have a separate shrine for Lord Ayyappan and Goddess Durga. The temple has been revamped recently and ever since it is well maintained.

This temple is on the way to Sri Visvaroopa Anjaneyar Temple in RamNagar of Nanganallur. After the dharshan of Sri Devi Karumari Amman, went to this temple. Deity : Sri Guruvayoorappan Some of the important features of this temple are... The temple is facing east with a entrance arch. Palipedam and Dwajasthambam are immediately after the front entrance. The sanctum sanctorum consists of sanctum and 4 pillar mandapam with a gap in front of the main shrine. The construction is very similar to Guruvayur temple of Kerala, not with wood but with concrete in kerala architecture. Out side sannadhi brass lamps are fixed like kerala temples. These lamps will be lit during Ekadesi, Pournami, Rohini and Astami days with special poojas. In the outer prakaram sannadhi for Sastha ie Iyappan, Prasanna Venkateswarar, Ganapathy, Navagrahas, Bhagavathy. Sankarshanar ( Nagar under peepul tree- Bodhi Tree ) It is a custom that 08.00 and 20.00 hrs, Urchavar is taken in a procession to eight directions ie ashtathikku balakas, of the prakaram and neivedyam is offered. The pooja and rituals are followed in Kerala style. Devotees are allowed only after removing shirt and baniyan. Prasadam is distributed every day. The temple is being managed by a private trust Gurvayoorappam Aasthika Samajam. The temple belongs to late 20th century. The Trust also runs a Ayurvedha Vaidyasala.Similar to Kerala temple the rituals and functioning...

We had visited the temple for my daughter Anna prasannam. Have to call a day before and book. Car parking can be managed if no crowd. We were charged only Rs 300 and that too wit proper bill. All the elders in the temple were very helpful. We were give Milk payasam, And 3 cups of prasadham and a silk towel for our anna prasannam.. All males including kids should go in Dhoti and without shirt and all ladies to wear saree. Photographs strictly not allowed.. The rituals were very orderly and well planned and explained.. These days temple charge lot of money in name of pooja.. But here, Nothing like that.. in fact for Rs 300 charge , they give you more than that.. Temple os maintained well and for Anna prasannam need to be at 8 in morning. The experience was very divine and great. For Anna prasannam, I would recommend this temple any day.. Thank you to all the elders in the temple for a memorable experience..

Located in the midst of the vibrant neighborhood of Nanganallur, Sri Uththara Guruvayurappan temple is a unique one with a touch of calmness and serenity. The temple architecture resembles that of Kerala.. N.B. Men have to remove shirts while entering the temple. Make sure to have a look at this temple if you are visiting Hanuman temple at Nanganallur 😉

It's an excellent traditional Kerala style temple and the People those working here are very polite in behaviour. very peaceful and best place to visit. Men those entering in this temple should not wear Shirt or Baniyan. That is the mandatory thing in this temple like most of the temple in Kerala followed the same. But people standing outside of the temple always asking for help for their children's study. Dont provide anything for them because they are fake people and they will not spend that amount for their childrens' study.

Kumbabisegam renovation work have started ,the concerned people of the temple feels it will take 6 months to 8 months to perform kudamuzhuku . My opinion they will do kudamuzhuku along with Vishu celebration ,during Malayalam and Tamil New Year. Enday Guruvayoorappa

This temple is meant to Feed kids for the first time, same like Guruvayoor temple. People who are unable to travel Guruvayoor can do the same formalities for babies here. Procedures are simple and Nambodiris guided us everything clearly. No photographs allowed and no shift for men. I carried a big white shoulder towel and wore dhoti just to avoid shyness. Neatly maintained, rules are strictly followed. The temple is within walking distance from the bus stop.

Prebooking before 2days must, fee =300₹ Timing :8am -9am Parents dresscode: saree and vesti compulsory.. Things provided: payasam, punjamrutham curd rice with papad will be served for baby...along with one towel.... Archani bag and payasam provided as prasadam.. They r really organized and well maintained.. If u r couples with no knowledge on what to do just book here and relax.. Cons: the priest will be bit strict 😁😅

An excellent temple in Nanganallur for Sri Utthara Guruvayurappan. A must see ritual in this temple is the morning rituals. All the archakas will do vishnu sahasranama stotram in the early morning. Abhishekam will be done to the main diety in the early morning. Later Sri Utthara Guruvayurappam will be decorated very well.

Utthara Guruvayoorappan Temple is very close to me for many reasons. I have been visiting there since 40 years. The temple is built on the same measurement of the original, but on a smaller scale. The sanctity and the rules are the same as in Guruvayoor. My father-in-law Sri T.V.AnantaramaSeshan was the chief priest of the temple till he passed away in November of 2010. The Deity is always on the ready to help the devotee.

SRI GURUVAYOORAPPAN ASTHIKA SAMAJAM Nanganallur desired to construct a temple for Lord Sri. Guruvayoorappan and in order to ascertain the probability of constructing the Temple, an Asthamangala prasnam was conducted by Bhramasri Vishnu Nambudiri of Pudusseri. The prasnam revealed that about four centuries ago this area was a thick forest and many Tapasvies were dwelling here. It also brought to light the great saint from Kerala Sri BILWAMANGAL, one of the ardent devotee of Lord Sri Guruvayoorappan was among those saints doing tapas. Lord Sri. Guruvayoorappan presented himself in front of the saint, adorning Shangu, Chakram, Gadha, and Padmam and accepted a cup of fresh cow’s milk. Then as per the request made by the great saint, the Lord gave assurance that at a future date their would be a temple for the worship of the common men. Based on the prasnam, the Idols of Lord Sri Guruvayoorappan, Sri Bhagavathi Sri Prasanna Vinayaka, Sri.Dharma Sastha, Sri Sankarshana and the Navagrahas were made, taking granite from Trithala (Kerala) by Sri Unni Nambudiripad of Kanippaiyoor and all of them installed and the kumbhabhishekam was performed on 17th April 1975. As per the findings in the Astamangala Prasnam, the construction of the temple project is based on Kerala Architecture and an Idols of Saint Bilwamangal is installed in the Namaskara Mandapam. The Poojas are being performed thrice a day and SRIVELI is also brought out every day. Fresh, Unboiled, warm milk is the Pradhana Neyvedyam to Lord Sri Guruvayoorappan. Must have darshan.

The temple, known as Uttara Guruvayurappan Temple, is situated in Nanganallur, Chennai. The main deity is Lord Guruvayurappan, similar to the one at Guruvayur Temple in Kerala. The temple timings are from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the mornings and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the evenings. Poojas are conducted in Kerala style. There are Sannadhis for Lord Ganesh, Lord Ayyappa, Goddess Bhagavathi and for Perumal. A neat and clean temple. Dress code is strictly followed. Traditional attire is a must for females. Males should remove their shirts before entering the temple . Prasadams are distributed to all devotees during the evenings. Annaprasanam and Akshrabhyasam are conducted on request. On special occasions, the entire temple precincts are lit with oil lamps, which is a feast to the eyes of the devotees. They have a Mandapam also nearby, which is offered for conducting discourses and other functions against payment.

This is a small temple and has Lord Vishnu as the presiding deity. There is a Ayyapaswamy shrine and Lord Narayana shrine outside the main shrine. Puja worship is conducted in this temple just like Guruvayoor Kerala temple. When we visited we could see Kalabha abhishegam here to Lord Narayana.
