There are many deities like good temple, Shiva, Ganesha, Arthanareeswarar. The temple is a beautiful and peaceful place and many ducks live in the big temple pond on the right side of the temple. Even the temple priest's assistant is from the North Indian's.

Peaceful and divine location for visiting with family. God is Arthanareeswar and Goddess is Arthanareeswari. 2 wheelers can be managed to park before temple but cars to be parked in the vicinity as the temple is located on busy market road.

I am devoted to Lord Shiva and this is a place worth visiting. On pradhosha days there is much rush and the pious people of Nanganallur and other neighbouring places gather in large numbers to pray and prostrate.

I believe that a temple, is always great, as it gives solace to the devotees. This nice temple is no exception. Only thing, this century has evolved a lot, and it is now common to make the public places accessible to even the disabled. Because of the concern of the temple managers to prevent ingression of rain water into the temple premises, probably, the entrance has two big doorsteps, which could cause lot of hardship to those who are old and those with knee problems, leave alone the disabled.

It feels satisfied when I enter this temple... Good and a peaceful place when you sit and meditate saying om nama shivaya 🙏

Culturally rich and a quiet place of worship. My family has been visiting for decades. Management does a really good job of preserving the tradition at the same time adapting to the niches of modern visitors. I get such positive vibes everytime I visit, one of my favorite places to go with my family!

Nanganallur is really a temple city like Kumbakonam, Kancheepuram. It has lot of very good temples like Hanuman temple, Sri Varasidhi Vinayagar temple( first temple to come to Nanganallur), Uthara Guruvayurappan temple, Sri Rajarajeswari temple, Sri Raghavendra swamy brindavan, Sri Lakshminarasimhar temple, Karumariamman,Arthanareeswarar temple etc. It is in the Market Road also known as 4th Main Road of Nanganallur. It has lot of sannadhis like, Bala Ganapathy, Balamurugar, Sri Arthnaeeswarar( Easwaran), Arthanareeswari, Natarajar, Somaskandhar, Lingodhbavar, Brihma, Navagraham, very powerful Bairavar sannadhi, Nalvar sannadhis too. In the same complex Arulmigu Santhidurgai amman sannadhi is also there. Raghukala pujai is done here on every Sunday during Raghu Kala period (4.30 to 6 Pm). Very clean n neat. Suggest to visit with family.

The temple construction and maintenance is awesome, especially the Goddess Durga statue. It is a must-see. The only drawback, however, is the temple asks money for everything. I mean, ppl working there, which I didn't like it.

Main Sanctum name is Arthanareeswarar. Currently, the temple is getting renovated. Great place to worship Lord Shiva. Here we can worship Lord Durgai. This place gives you pure serenity. Just go and visit. Highly recommended place Ok Namah Shivaya 🙏

His holiness sri sri maha periyava has told to build this temple when moolavar was found and unearthed from the temple pond. Behind moolavar Sri Arthanareeswarar, sila roopam of lord Shiva at left side and goddess Parvati amma at right side was sculpted. Goddess Sri Arthanareeswari is at the side of sanctum sanctorum along with Sri Natarajar and Sri Somaskandhar in separate shrines. There is also a Astabhuja Durgai amman idol at the separate shrine which is also called Shanta Durgai Amman.

  • 5/5 Pavani M. 1 year ago on Google
Nice temple with arthanareeswarar and arthanareeswari as presiding dieties. Within this temple premises there is separate sanctum for Durga Maa

  • 4/5 Giridhar V. 1 year ago on Google
This temple has employed Hindi or Marathi speaking pujaris. Though the pujas are performed regularly, interaction with devotees is not upto the mark. Between Abhishekam, alankaram and archana or haarathi there are time gaps ,which can be minimised. The Ashtabhuja Durga parameswari on the rear side is a Santha moorthi. Very nice to see and worship. Some improvements are planned now, to overcome the flooding of the temple during monsoon. Devotees can contribute their might

Kanchi Kamakoti Paramacharya discovered this ancient idol of Arthanareeswarar in the temple tank when he was performing a morning puja at the abandoned temple tank here. Since then the temple was functioning in thatched sheds and the Kumbaabhegam took place in March 2004. This temple is also a “Kethu sthalam”. A life-size idol of Sri Ashtabhuja Shanthi Durga, said to be bigger than that of ancient Patteeswaram temple near Kumbakonam is installed in a separate shrine just at the rear of the Ardhanareeswarar temple. The well sculpted durga is a please to the eyes of the devotees and is well known as sarvabhishta pala nayaki. Must have darshan of this 5 tier Rajagopuram and ancient idols.
