We visited this spot with our guide it was tucked away in busy Chennai. It was where St Thomas hid in the cave. The gardens showed the stations of the cross but they had a very new meditation area with a magnificent modern depiction of Christ which I found very beautiful the light was perfect in there. They also were placing some lovely mosaics into the windows.

one of the oldest catholic churches in Chennai. Well maintained. Very positive vibrations found in the main hall and the cave where Thomas had his prayers.

It's really a good place to visit. It's distinct from other churches in that this has many vintage locations like those rock caves which bear the footprints of St. Thomas, an Apostle of Christ, The Holy Shroud of Turin etc.

A most relevant location to one, especially Christians, who want to follow and understand the life and travels of St. Thomas, one of the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ.

Visiting the shrine where St. Thomas's cave is found was a deeply spiritual and peaceful experience. This sacred place holds a unique significance for believers and seekers alike. The discovery of St. Thomas's cave adds to the holiness of this site. It's a place where history and faith intersect, and you can't help but be moved by the sense of reverence that fills the air. The cave itself is a testament to the enduring power of faith and the enduring legacy of St. Thomas. Whether you come here for religious reasons or simply to seek a moment of inner peace, this shrine offers a welcoming space for all.

This historical place has been made sacred by the presence of St. Thomas, the Apostle. He was the first missionary, a direct witness of Jesus, who handed over the Christian faith to us in the first century. The cave at Little Mount is a treasured memory of St. Thomas, as it offered him a silent and serene space to reenergise himself in prayer and meditation to preach the Good News of Jesus to the people and to baptise them. An impression of the apostle’s own hand, the bleeding cross, the perpetual spring and the right foot impression of St. Thomas evoke revered memories of his presence at Little Mount, who exclaimed in profound faith: “My Lord and My God!” He was stabbed to death and martyred at St. Thomas Mount. He was buried at Santhome, where the magnificent cathedral now stands.

Little Mount is a historical place for every Christian to visit. St. Thomas was hiding in a cave here before he was being killed. There are rocks on which his elbow, palm and foot impressions are still visible. There is a cross which was sculpted by St. Thomas and it bleeds blood every year. Please do visit and seek your blessings.

An amazing place for both, worship, and sightseeing. Believed to be the place where St Thomas attained martyrdom. This hill houses a centuries old church, a Chapel for deep focused prayers, a big banyan, and an marvellous view point. Must visit for anyone who visits Chennai, TN.

It's a beautiful church in Chennai. We can find many things related to St Thomas the apostle here. The road to this church is little congested. But the view is just beautiful. So many pilgrims are traveling to this church on a daily basis. This church is also a must visit church in Chennai. We can find a St Thomas cross here.

This church in Saidapet is a Portuguese-built shrine from 1551 with an entrance to the cave where St Thomas is said to have lived. St. Thomas, one of the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ came to South India in the first century and is believed to have spent much time living in the cave and preaching to the people there. A place for family pilgrimage, prayer and peace with many small churches abounding in divine vibrations.

I used to go there when I was in Chennai. When I was so stressed because of my job, she was the only person whom I could always go and pray. She answered my prayers. Ave Maria!

St. Thomas Mount National Shrine is located very close to the International Airport, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The National Shrine comes under the Catholic Diocese of Chingleput, which is under the pastoral care of Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. A. Neethinathan. This shrine is dedicated to "Our Lady of Expectation" and was rebuilt in 1523 on top of the mount. The altar of this Shrine was built on the spot, where St.Thomas was martyred in 72 AD. This Holy Shrine was proclaimed as National Shrine on 8th January, 2010 in the presence of the Apostolic Nuncio to India, the President of Conference of Catholic Bishops of India, 118 Bishops, 200 priests, 1,500 religious and 30000 people. St. Thomas Mount is a Holy place of international prominence, historical eminence, religious glory and tourist attraction. The ancient Church on the top of St. Thomas Mount has served as the light house for the Portuguese and Armenian ships and vessels in the Bay of Bengal in the 16th and 17th centuries. Interestingly, it is said, when sailors sighted the Church they offered prayers for a safe Voyage and then discharged from their artillery in salutation. Preserving its glorious antiquity, this five-century old Shrine Chapel has been renovated and restored in the recent times.

One of the best places to visit inside Chennai city. We can go either by bike or through steps by walk. Probably 250 steps maximum will be there. We went on Christmas time so that crowd was there and it was nice place to visit .

Newly renovated church. This is a very old church where the Apostle St. Thomas was hidden there for 13 years. There is a cave that can be visited at the Shrine of the actual place where he stayed and worshipped. His hand and knee prints can be seen and touched. Highly recommended.

Little Mount Shrine is one among the important Holy Sites which has connection with the Apostle St.Thomas. St.Thomas is believed to be stayed and Prayed here. Has spots where you can see the foot and finger prints believed to be of St.Thomas. Has a bleeding cross on the rock believed to be carved out by St.Thomas himself, where the Saint prayed. Has a natural spring which has water across the year, believed to be the source of water during that time. This site also has a Chapel, Meditation room, community hall, etc.

Wonderful 2000 years old historical place 2 visit. The Cross church with pieces of cross is really energetic to pray. The architecture design and interior work is really excellent. The dead body of christ laid in a cave is realistic. The miraculous spring done by St.Thomas is worthy for eyes. Retired old men are used to guide the tourist and faithful. St. Thomas cave from where he prayed and escaped is miraculous. All Christians, historians, archeologist and tourist should visit in life.
