An ancient temple and the vigraha means (the statue ) is more than 500 years old .... Can see the god's eyes opening when the aarthi is shown ... Since this temple is located near local areas this temple must develop more ... So contribute more to this temple to develop 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Sri Kari Varadaraja perumal temple is located in Nerkundram .The main deity of this temple is God Kari Varadaraja perumal. temple is about 500 years old and god of 27 stars. It is said that he is also the Adhibadhi of the number 9, hence each devotee offer rupees 9 at the feet of perumal per wish or prayer. Mostly the devotees visit the temple within 9 days to thank for the wish been granted and fulfilled by the God.It is also believed that if a devotee comes for 27 months of their birth star without any discontinuity they could definitely achieve whatever their wish will be.

Very good temple, small temple but can experience unique spiritual feeling..... In Garbagriha, We can feel as if Perumal opens his eyes in the reflection of karpoora arthi... The temple priest are humble and explains the story of entire sthala varalaru (history). Visit the place via Poonamalle high road, take left next to Canara bank or opposite to Titan showroom....

Temple is located very close to Nerkundram bus stop. It can be reached easily from Koyambedu also. The speciality of this temple is you can see Perumal's eye glittering during harathi. It is a 500 years old temple. Small but maintained very well. Perumal looks so beautiful with alankaram. Visit atleast once and experience the beautiful nethra darshan of Kari Varadaraja Perumal

A beautiful temple close to Koyambedu. The temple, the original idols are more than 500 years old. The myth is that Lord Perumal (Lord Balaji / Lord Vishnu) gave darshan to elephants and hence the name 'Kari' Varadaraja Perumal. A young, polite lady, part of the Trust that takes care of the temple for generations, was kind enough to explain the significance of the temple, in detail. My thanks to her. Yes, I could see the eyes of Lord open as the lights were turned off and the Poojari started the Aarthi. It was so beautiful and I have not experienced anything like this before. Lord Ganapati, Lordess Thayar, Lord Anjaneya also adorn this beautiful temple. I heard that they are making arrangements to consecrate Lordess Andal's idol soon. I would definitely go to this place again with family to get His blessings.

Very quiet, uncrowded temple. One can have darshan of Thayaar and Perumal to one's heart's content and have archanais done. During aarathi that is done with lights in sanctum sanctum switched off, Perumal's closed eyes open up. This is a unique sculpture

It is a very old temple in Chennai, which is about 500 years old. Located close to Koyambedu, it can be accessed easily by public transportation. Here, one can see Thayaar and Perumal. Priest is a genuinely pleasant and personable individual. He explains each and every activity thoroughly. They are here doing a special Pooja for the couples who have not had a child for over a year. The temple is commonly know as Kan Thirandha Perumal. One must visit this temple to have more positive vibes.

Though the route to the temple is Criss cross with too much pot holes and stones, it's a temple to visit for the Lord's power. Arulmigu Kari Varadaraja perumal worship benefits those who believe and many bhaktas vouch for it. The " Deepa aradhanai is special where you can see the Almighty open eyes. " Thayaar " sannidhi is sacred too. The temple has an "Anjaneyar Sannidhi with " abhaya hastham pose " which again is special." There is "Ramanujar sannidhi" too. The temple is under renovation. Narrow roads and parking is an issue.

Lord vishnu face is designed in a way like his eyes are open when lights are off.. A kind of unusual statue compared to other temples.. But power of God remains same everywhere ?

I agree this is an old temple ,and has a good history. But the atchagars here are always money minded & they always ask for kulam , kothram which the non bhramins are not interested in telling and they give an vague look for it. We stopped coming here cos of their partialities.
