The location of Rathnagiriswarar temple is in a busy and beautiful Besant Nagar area. The surroundings is quite calm and divine. Lord vinayakar, murugar, ramar, Dhakshinamurthy bless the devotees with their abundant love. Excellent feelings one would get after visiting this unassuming & serene temple. Visited to participate in the Dhakshinamurthy & hayagreevar homam and get divine blessings organized by Bhaktha Mandali. Sincere & dedicated noblest people performed the rituals with great passion & love for the society & children. The energy & inner feeling we had during this proceedings are unexplainable. After the poornaahuti blessed gifts - writing pens are distributed for the subscribers. Really wonderful session we had here.

Calm and Quiet temple to mediate. As like other Shiva temple, in this temple they perform Pradosham, Sivaratri, Navratri and all Hindu festivals in a grand manner. There is no Dwajasthambam (a Flagstaff otherwise Kodi maram). You can worship Lord Ganesha, Murugan, Sri Ram, Maa Sita & Lakshman (all the three in one sannathi) opposite to this sannathi Lord Hanuman sannathi is there. Separate sannathi's for Sri Rathnagiriswarar & Sri Aralakesi Amman (very beautiful and eye catching), Navagraha and Nagam. During Iypassi (ஐப்பசி) month Full mood day Annabishekam is being performed to Lord Shiva. Kanchi Maha Periyava and his holy foot wear (Paadha rakshe) in silver can be worshipped. Time to time they announce in the mic to follow social distance, wear mask and sanitize hands. #temple

Godess Aralakesi, my affectionate mother, is an absolute beauty radiating affection and care to one and all. The priests here are very good and they do all Poojas as per the tradition. Lord Rathnagireeswar rules here and listens to your prayers and it has to be felt. All of the auspicious functions are celebrated by the members of the "Baktha Mandali" following the procedures laid out by our Seers. Members of the Baktha Mandali chant The Vedas on auspicious days and their group chanting is sure to energize everyone coming to the temple.

Amazing arrangements during annual annabhishegam. The crowd was large but was disciplined. The decoration at the temple is seen to be believed. The food was served very quick, piping hot and very tasty. The eating area was also well maintained. Don't miss this event!

On 20th April, 2020, during web cast of somapradosham, the camera was not moved according to the rituals after abhishekam to Lord Shiva. I phoned up and requested the person to adjust the camera to show the Lord instead of the Ambal constantly. However no action was taken . Will any one look into this as the web cast is watched by all NRI s from Besant Nagar.

The calmest and most peaceful temple in this locality. Highlight is the Simple concept of rice and dal donation. This is based on Kanchi Periyavar's suggestion of saving one handful of rice a day to be put in at home and handover here. This is used fir Annadhanam. There is a kanchi medical Center too here.

A good temple. This is a Shiva temple. This temple is located very near to Besent Nagar bus stand may about 300 meters away. The road in front of the temple is very wide. This temple is built in seventies with the blessings of Kanchi Sankaracharya. There is amble space inside the temple.Normal days the temple is not very crowded. During Shivaratri time they conduct carnatic concerts daily for a week. They invite well-known artists for these concerts

மிகவும் அருமையான கோவில்.One close to my heart.Professional administration with dedication and resouces. The Shiva,Ambal,Rishabaroodar, SitaRamar,Natarajar,Adishankara and all other Moorthigal really divine and graceful. No wonder there is connect between bhagwan and bhakt through the acharyars (Gurukkals)and the Swami showers His bountiful blessings. The live relay of pujas especially Pradosha Pujas are nice and appreciable.

I am normally against Govt taking over temple. But today seeing the attitude of people in this temple office & the Archaga who asked Vilwam Garland to be dropped in plate just like Devotees are untouchable, I feel it's high time Govt should take over this temple. I was in temple from 07.45 am..No Archana being done till 08.45am. Office says the Archagas will finish breakfast and come to do Archana until then they do not give ticket. No display of any time for Pooja anywhere. So autocratic. This is the way Devotees are treated and God Pooja as second priority. Why this arrogance. Why can't Archagas take turns to perform Archana. When they are doing Arthi why they cannot perform Archana at same time for people waiting there. Disappointed

The temple houses Rathnagiriswarar, Andal, Kodandarama with seetha and lakshmana, Murugan, vinayaka, Anjaneyar, Navagraha deities and daily Pujas conducted. During Navaratri festival, traditional Golus are kept and rituals are offered. Nice and serene place in the midst of Besant Nagar to offer prayers and calm your mind.

Situated in the beautiful Besant Nagar area, a calm and peaceful residential locality in Chennai close to the beach. The temple dedicated mainly to lord Shiva as Rathgireeswarar and Parvathi as Aralakesi Ambal. The temple Poojas are performed with utmost reverence with several Brahmin priests loudly chanting mantras in unison, gives a divine feeling. Especially must visit on pradhosham days. Pooja starts late afternoon and goes till evening. Limited 4 wheeler parking space.

One of the best maintained private temples in Chennai. The temple is sparsely crowded with floating visitors on normal days. Great for sitting and chanting or meditating for a while. But the dedicated priests and sincere patrons for the temple make it a happening a place through every small and big occasion on the calendar. The Annabhishekam (Oct/Nov) is a must watch spectacle during which the entire temple is decorated with fruits and the the diety ordained with Rice. Be prepared to stand in a queue across 4 streets to get a close glimpse. They welcome offerings from all devotees and all excess food grains and fruits that are not distributed to devotees visiting on that day are donated to different orphanages and old age homes. Another important occasion to visit is Mahashivarathiri.

One of the best Shiva temples... The things which I like here are alangaarams and the place and direction how every vigrahams are been pradhistaiyed. The prasadam and kacheri here are awesome. The vilva maram inside is a significant one also arasamara pilayar, komatha saanam smell are awesome. Only one slight thing I wished here was all 63 nayanmars to be depicted atleast as images.only 4 main ppl were there. Thiruchitrambalam
