Nithyakalyana Perumal temple is located just 100m from the main road (ECR), it is very easily accessible. This is the first time I am visiting this temple and I was expecting something more. But the actual scenario was completely different. Personally I feel, this temple need more attention in terms of maintenance and to provide some basic amenities and facilities to the visitors/devotees. They are charging 50 rupees for ARCHANAI (just a 10-20 mins of chanting, it's over). Parking# Parking at owner's risk, it's a open car parking. Shops# Many shops available to buy pooja items

Went there very early on Sunday which happened to be Sri Rama Navami Day as well. My primary interest in the temple stemmed from the fact that it happens to be a 7th century CE temple built by Pallavas and likely has some Buddhist influence as well. Temple was an hour ride from Mylapore on a Sunday am and is off OMR in the way to mamallapuram. To my surprise the temple has literally an handful of folks that early. Spent a lot of time on photos and trying to decipher each pillar themes. The main deity is the Varaha with bhoodevi. Had a good darshan as well.

Nithya Kalyana Perumal temple is a famous shrine dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is also an important Divya Desam, the chosen abode of the Lord that has been glorified in the Azhwar saints' verses. This temple is situated in a place called Thiruvidanthai on the East Coast Road, about 40 kilometers from Chennai city. Varaha, the wild boar incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is the principal Lord here, whose idol is believed to be a Suyambu, that is self-manifested, which emerged while digging the earth. The presiding deity is known as Nithya Kalayana Perumal, the Lord who marries daily and the Goddess, Komalavalli Thayar. Devotees, especially those looking for early marriage or a suitable life partner, worship in large numbers in this temple. As per the legends, once the Dvarapalakas, the gatekeepers of the Vaikuntam abode of Lord Vishnu were cursed and were born as demon brothers Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakashipu. By doing severe penance and receiving remarkable boons, they became mighty and began harassing all the worlds. Thanks to the boon, the elder Hiranyaksha could not be killed by any living being, but he is said to have failed to include the wild boar in the list of beings. With immense power at his command, Hiranyaksha abducted Bhoomadevi, the mother earth, and hid her at the bed of the great ocean. Lord Vishnu took the incarnation of Varaha, the wild boar, fought a fierce battle with the demon, destroyed him in the end, and rescued the Goddess from his clutches. Varaha is said to have taken Bhoomidevi on this lap and married her, here. It is also said that he married all the 360 daughters of sage Kalava, in the course of a year. Thus, the Lord, who entered into wedlock daily, came to be hailed as Nithya Kalyana Perumal. This is a beautiful temple located right on the East Coast, on the shores of the Bay of Bengal. This was originally built by the Pallavas in the 7th century CE, and the Cholas added to the temple structure later. This temple, without a Rajagopuram, the entrance tower, is fenced by a granite wall, and its Pushkarani, the temple tank called Kalyana Theertham, is outside the compound. Lord Varaha can be worshipped as Nithya Kalyana Perumal in the sanctum sanctorum, holding Bhoomadevi on his lap. This Lord stands almost 7 feet tall and looks majestic. The tower above the main shrine is called Kalyana Vimanam. There is a separate shrine for Goddess Komalavalli. The pillared hall in the temple contains intricate carvings, while the many inscriptions found on the granite walls throw light on the temple's ancient history. Other Gods and deities like Ranganatha, Ranganayaki, and Garuda also have their shrines here. The Lord here is well known for granting the marriage boon, and hence this temple can be said to be virtually dedicated to people looking for early marriage or a suitable life partner. Therefore, a large number of those who want to get married to the right partners or whose marriages are getting delayed come to pray and seek divine blessings here. They usually offer garlands to the principal deity, then get it back as Prasad, wear it, and circumambulate the temple, nine times. Once their wish is fulfilled and the marriage takes place successfully, they come back as couples and pay their respects to the Lord. People also pray in this temple for relief from the adverse effects of snake planets Rahu and Ketu, and evil looks, and even for marital harmony and progeny blessing.

Anyone who thinks, his marriage is delayed, can come here. Buy two garlands. One for God, another one you have to wear and go around the temple 9 rounds. You have to go back home, with that garland. Soon you will see your marriage is fixed.

Temple is located in highways near kovalam. For marriage related parigaram and Pooja, this temple is very famous. Temple pond is neat and clean. Lot of outside space for car parking. Lot of unmarried men and women visit this temple. Usually crowded during weekends. For marriage related Pooja, we need to get ticket worth ₹50. Archanai ticket ₹5. Lot of shops available outside the temple. Approx 40 kms from Guindy. All mahabalipuram buses will stop near this temple.

The temple is well constructed and spacious. The idol here was very peaceful to see. The temple is open even on weekends(Basically all days) 6am till Noon(12) and evening 3-8:30, currently only accept Mala for marriage and post marriage, no archanai started. There is only one shop to have breakfast there, taste of the food was really good and rate was also just fine. You aren't allowed to take photos inside the temple.

An ancient temple( belongs to 7th cemtury) well maintained place of worship. Escpecially, for those who facing probelms in marriage, this place is believed for many remove the abstacles in the marriage. The God name itself is Nithya Kalyana Perumal. where Vishnu is believed to marry daily, the temple is frequented by people seeking marriage or whose marriage is delayed. A common worship practice is to offer garlands to the presiding deity, wearing it and circumambulating the temple nine times. Ranganatha, the reclining form of Vishnu, is believed to have attended the first wedding and after finding that there is a marriage every day, he set his abode in the temple. Nithyakalyana Perumal temple is located in Thiruvidandai, a village in Chennai at Kanchipuram district on the Chennai - Mahabalipuram East Coast Road, 38 km (24 mi) from Chennai City.

Sri Nithyakalyaperumal is the Urchava moorthy. Sri Varahaperumal is Moolavar (presently oil covered 'thyla kaapu' and behind curtains) will be open to public on Vaikunda ekadasi, 13.1.22. Seperate sannidhi for Komalavalli Thaayaar. Devotees pray here for Lord Perumal's blessings for early marriage, to overcome delay / obstacles.

We decided to skip the Shore temple as the heat was killing us and headed straight to this famous temple as suggested by our driver. As a tourist and not familiar with the language it gets difficult to understand the people. The temple sanctum is beautiful and takes you into a prayer mode. The original structure of the temple was built by the Pallavas during the 7th century. Visited as a family with two small kids, entered the temple, managed to tell the priest to pray for us as a family, mission accomplished the priest understood the assignment. Please know your gotra so that the priest can pray for you as we were blank, the priest was kind and said a prayer for us no matter what. Gave us a garland and we left as a happy family 🙂 Couples seeking marriage or whose marriage is delayed visit the temple. Refer to Wikipedia for all the information along with history.

Temple is about 40 Kms away from Central station. There are metro buses plying from Thiruvanmiyur every 30 mins to Mahabalipuram enroute this place( Route # 588). There are buses from Broadway also ( route # 109). During the day until 8 pm in the evening there is no problem for city buses. But beyond this timing it may be difficult. Alternatively you get shared autos from Kovalam. From Kovalam you get plenty of buses to the city. The temple is fairly large premises. There are small eateries available around this temple. Toilets are available too. There are many kalyana mandapams near the temple for functions and marriages.

The temple was absolutely good and we had a good dharshan too, but the staff was rude. I didn’t see the board which said “No photographs allowed” and by mistake I opened my phone camera to take the photo of a board (Not any god). And I didn’t even take the photo. The staff guy working there hold my hand and pushed my camera forcefully and my expensive phone was about to fall. He spoke rude too. He wasn’t wearing a mask and was holding my hand. He should have deleted the photo from my phone/asked me to delete or He could have even asked me to pay a fine. He don’t have any rights to hold my hand or push my phone. Please take necessary action.

Major construction works underway and in 10 years if marketed well this would land up as hallmark owing to stories and fantasies the people would generate

I love this place. A beautiful and calm temple. The shop keepers around might bother you a lot but that happens at all temples. It's kind of funny to see that Google maps read 'Nithya Kalyana Perumal (marriage God)' I believe the place is crowded on weekends and on special occasions. When I visited on weekdays, it was sheer bliss to be there. We stand for longer time infront the sanctum sanctorum and pray.

A very nice place to worship Perumal and Varahamurthy. Aranganathar is with Sridevi and Bhudevi. It is actually a 1000 or 1500 year old temple. The day I visited the temple was Vaikunda Yekadesi. Parambhata gate opening day. That too on Saturday. After Srirangam, these temple sculptures amaze me. This temple keeps me visiting again and again. Everyone should visit this temple at least once in their lifetime.

While going its better to get all the pooja stuff and go or else you could buy there. I spent around 300₹ for pooja stuff for 2. Before entering the temple visit the lake and wash your legs and go. People there would advise on this, if not, first go to the lake them enter the temple.
