This is a very old Shiva Temple with decent maintenance. Medium size Temple in a relatively big area. Enough parking space for both two and four wheelers. One can fully see the Temple in 20 minutes max. The well water is potable and infact tastier than packaged water. No eateries nearby. Bring your own food. Temple pond is dry as of Feb 2021, which surprising considering the rains received in the recent past. It's a huge tank. At few metres from this Shiva Temple, there is a Perumal Temple as well. Please check the timings before you visit.

Serene and divine place. Hardly crowded. Ancient temple. Not much far from ORR. There's a temple pond common to both shiva and vishnu temple. The locality is so placid.

A wonderful temple believed to have been built by the Pandya king Jadavarman Sundara Pandian - 1 in the 9th century. Though it is called Sitharkadu since in those days Siddhars used to pray in this temple, but the present name of the village is Thirumanam, it is about less than half a kilometer from the outer ring road. A temple for people who are born in swathi star. Swami gets a unique name Dhathareeswarar, since swami was prayed by siddhars by placing him under a neli (amla) tree, and Dhathree is a sanskrit word for amla. Temple was in a poor shape before, due to the efforts of a group of volunteers the temple has really come back to life and now it is not only clean and neat but also has a new kodimaram and a beautiful nicely painted rajagopuram. Has a huge temple tank, on its right side which is totally dry now, and is sort of common for the perumal temple also. It is so nice to see the steps of the tank on all four sides. Temple faces east, Swami faces east, Rajagopuram faces east, Ambal faces south, Kodimaram present. Swami and ambal present in one single shrine. Swami name : Dhathareeswarar Ambal name : Prasunakunthalambigai Wonderful temple to visit, kindly check the timings of the temple before visiting. Also do not miss the perumal temple which just a stone throw away from this temple.

A must visit Hindu temple near Poovirundhavallai or Thirunindravur. Bhagavan Shiva temple. Maintained by Siddharth kaadu Village people, need some support, all Hindu people must visit all the temples to save them from anti-hindu and the people who are working full-time to vipe out our tradition from tamilnadu. When I visited Pradosham Pooja there was a group of volunteers from nearby towns(60 + devotees - volunteers started cleaning this temple and also nearby lord Vishnu temple). The temple pond has not been maintained properly, 100 days(govt scheme) workers simply sitting for a while and money may be distributed as they worked for a full day. I used to see those people sitting, sleeping and chatting for a while to complete their formalities for 100 days job, no work completed by them.

One of the very oldest shivan temples located in chithukadu where you can feel the divine. Which is near Nemilicherry bypass, you can prefer a bike or car to reach the temple. No direct bus available.

This Shiva (Dhatreeshwarar) temple, is considered as Parihara temple for Swathi nakshatra. Here, devotees also seek blessings to overcome obstacles in their marriages through prayer. This ancient temple was being worshiped by sidhars and we can see many carvings of sidhars on the pillars of the mandapam.

My favourite Shiva temple for meditation... Under Aadhi shankarar. It's a place of siddhars coming to worship lord Shiva in the form of birds... Excellent place for silence and high vibrant Place is interior. So please arrange private vehicles.. Usually very calm with bird sounds... Lots of parrots seen in the gopuram.. Since its in the remote area timing of opening is usually late. Morning: 8 am to 10 am Evening: 5.30 pm to 7 pm There is a small pond near the temple, where you can sit and enjoy the nature.. Back to this temple, there is Vishnu temple which is 1000 years old. Don't miss that temple also..

Good Oldest Shiva temple as Thateeswarar; Near Pattabiram (Minjur- Vandalur bye pass located at Thirumanam @ from Chitharkadu bus stop) Ohm Nama Shivaya 🌸 Ambal's name is Arulmiku Prasuna Kunthalambikai, Shiva's name is Sri Dadriswarar. A very old temple with a huge tirtha pond nearby. It was a place where many Siddhas lived in earlier times. Even now the temple is graced by many Siddhas. Sri Prana Deepika Siddhar's image is carved in Nandi's mandapam near the flag tree. It is very special that Nandi's face does not have a nose rope. Every living being, when it is formed in the embryo, first gets access to breathing air through this nandi. Therefore, this place is a cure for diseases caused by respiratory disorders. Also Swathi is a temple worshiped by Nakshatrakaras to get rid of evil The name of this town is given as Siddar Kadu and Tirumanam. 5-6 km from Poontamalli on the Vandalur-Meenjoor outer ring road is a very special site. The temple is open only till 10 am.
