It was one of the best place to relax with family., not much crowded and it was so peaceful. No tickets for both entrance and bike parking., so it's really useful for all kind of people. Not much negative., it would be an addon if some tea shop or snacks available near by... Though it's in roadside not much crowd or sound as it's opposite to secretary office

Located opposite the Secretariat at Fort St. George near the Chennai Port, the Secretariat Park is beautiful urban park in the city. Initially an underdeveloped piece of land, the area has now been transformed into a vast green space ideal for morning and evening walks or/and to spend some outdoor time amidst fresh air and lush greenery. . The park has a grand circular fountain at the centre and pedestrian walkways. Other features in the park include tree court with 18 granite benches laid around the trees, one-acre sunken court that is below the road level for children, two public rest houses, and grand granite plazas for practising yoga. There are three ramps connected to the pathways, enabling people with disability to make use of all parts of the park. The walls have murals done by arts students. The central fountain has an abstract design made of an alloy of copper and tin. . There is also a โ€˜tree courtโ€™ with benches spread out for visitors to sit and enjoy nature at its best. Thereโ€™s also a toilet block, with a facility for slum dwellers of the Annai Sathya Nagar area. Where: 19, Rajaji Salai, Fort St George, Chennai Timings: 6am to 6pm Price: Entry free

It's a cool park full of trees with a nice wide natural beauty..... And scenary. If we stay in a place with lots of trees, we will get good clean air without pollution. This is such a good place and pleasant calm atmosphere if one has to get some fresh air in middle of their daily head stressed works... There are shade trees and a bench under it. The people who live next to this park are very lucky indeed

Maintenance is very bad . The garden was not maintained properly earlier it was very clean lots of PCs lay down and rest in the shadows of trees there. The water fountains are not cleaned for then six months it is full of algus and fungus and not able to site nearby getting a very bad smell. Very good location for seeing the flage hosting and flage off.

Very peaceful ambiance... In front off Secretariat... Wen the Secretariat work take little bit time, we can spend the time here. Nicely maintained.(no restaurants near by). Bus access is very easy. Just 2 KM from MGR central railway.

The first day of my chennai trip, I felt like walking a little and thatโ€™s how i saw this beautiful park. A pretty park which is filled with big trees, which gives a relief from the chennai heat. The park was so cool as the trees there act as shelter. A nice place to have an evening walk. Also, there were people working out too.

As the cases of Covid -19 and its' variant Omicron started nosediving, the Tamil Nadu along with many other states including Union Territory of Delhi are limping back to normality. As per the directive from the Central Government, restrictions are either relaxed or fully lifted, depending on the state-wise situation for normal life to continue. However, World Health Organisation [WHO] has cautioned that the pandemic is not over and so, wearing masks is made mandatory everywhere across the country, as precautionary measure...

Very well maintained and isolated park. A very nice and calm place to spend time. It was less crowded on a Sunday noon. But you have to park your vehicle far from the park, as there is no parking available nearby or within the park.

Secretariat Park, also known as the Fort St. George Park, is a green oasis located in the heart of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated adjacent to the historic Fort St. George, which houses the legislative assembly and administrative offices of the Tamil Nadu state government. Secretariat Park offers a serene and peaceful environment amidst the bustling city. It serves as a recreational space for visitors and nearby office-goers, providing a respite from the urban chaos. The park is well-maintained and features lush green lawns, beautiful flowerbeds, and shaded walkways.

Very worsted experience at the room. Tv is not working. I wish I could give negative ratings for this pathetic stay provided by OYO. The image listed here is totally different. During Check they asked me for 1200 rs and the room was completely dirty and there is no wardrobe. Toilet was stinky and the pillow and bed had stains all over. This is not even worth for 200 rs. A total scam. My humble request to OYO to remove this listing and take action against them.

Good place to spend some time under the shade. Observed that Police personnel and Army personnel having their lunch under the tree shade. Citizens who visit secretariat for some or the other works will take some rest in the park by lying their back under the tree shade. Overall the park is well maintained and provide some fresh air to the people.

Visited the Secretariat on 75th Independence day celebrations and witnessed the flag hoisting ceremony ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ. People with passes were only allowed beyond the check point on park side. Govt could have informed about process of getting passes through news channels/ newspapers for witnessing the event!
