Went on a Sunday evening and surprised that it was not crowded at all. Place is done up pretty well, reasonably sized restaurant. Seating was comfortable. They have many options for each course and can be customized to suit Jain style. Food tastes very good and the staffs are well informed and explain patiently. The service is quick and efficiently done. Picing is at par with other restaurants and the portions served is justified. Overall a good experience.

Vegetarian Restaurant in Khader Nawaz Khan Road, Nungambakkam (Chennai). Staff members are courteous. They serve both Jain Vegetarian and regular dishes. Car Parking facility is available but congested. Food quality in below average. Reasonably priced. Ambience is above average. Not recommended.

This place is little less visible from the moving car and parking structure is messy but Best place for Buffet .. Desserts are amazing 👍 Service is top class.And great place for birthday parties.It has really good ambience.

The hotel employees were dressed in traditional Indian wear... Best veg buffet I've had in a long time. Family restaurant. Starters were so good and If u like North Indian food, don't miss this place. Buffet costs only 399/- and it was worth every paise paid. Ambience is so gud.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Buffet (Veg only and most items are Jain ready) for INR 499 (with tax). Ala Carte was available though the bill may work out on the higher side if we opted for that. Great ambience that resonates the theme of independence era India. Good parking space, and situated in a posh locality. It may be a bit tricky to identify 1947 from the road as it is somewhat tucked in a complex. Food was superb. The Soups, 4 starters, 4 main course items, salads, Indian breads, desserts were simply fantastic value for money. I'm not able to single out any dish that wasn't ok. Service quality was equally pleasant. Obviously, given the value for money, this place can get crowded. So be mindful of when you choose to visit. We were lucky to visit on a day when the place was half empty!

Excellent place .. beautiful ambience. Value for money when u Book it on Ibibo... Don't expect any service aft 3pm if you're stepping in for lunch... It has been wonderful experience with courteous staff. Fair amount of options in the menu.

We tried buffet it was 450 per person. The food was ok, ambience was good. You get two options in soup, 3-4 salads, mixed fruits, 2 Jain sabji, 1 daal, manchurian rice rasam, pav baji, pani poori, 4 ice creams, 3 sweets. Two star because there was stray hair in our food.

Good place & good food

It was very crowded Sunday. We got a place in the corner of the hall, uncomfortable to walk out for buffet. Since the crowd was more no table serving was done. Food was very average. Crowd management must be improved.

Ambiance is different. Lighting is different.. All ancient antique thing u notice.. Food wise okay.. Not so good Not so bad.. One thing impressed me is Curd rice was excellent! Rest all commonly available taste on any other similar category restaurant.

The food was good last time we visited in September 2020. But, April2021 it is closed (Permanently) . I hope they restart the hotel.

Visited 1947 on the occasion of independence day. Ambience was good. They decorated the place with the theme of independent India. Food was lovely, as always. Overall, loved the experience. Will surely visit them again.
