Compared to before, I felt the food was not as great as before this time. Though it's a vegetarian place, I go here almost every year with friends or family. Service was good but I remember the food tasting far better before. The food is definitely good πŸ˜„

I went there for an early dinner and I really loved the food. As a non vegetarian, I actually enjoyed eating a full veg meal here as the taste were really different and unique. For soup, 1.Tom Yum soup - slightly spicy, not as spicy as the one i tried in Thailand buy it was tasty and enjoyable nevertheless 2. Malai Laksa soup - coconut milk based, so it was kinda sweet but it was to my liking For starters, 1. Fried Stuffed Mushroom - really tasty, MUST TRY 2. Chilli Lotus Stem - never tried lotus stem before, really loved the taste, kinda sweet.. MUST TRY 3. Assorted Momos - was good For Main dish, 1. Chiang mai noodles - initially felt a bit bland but we started liking it as we continued to eat 2. Mee Goreng - this was a let down. Having been a fan of mee goreng and having tried it in various places, the taste wasn't upto expectations, was spicy also.. maybe that's cos traditional mee goreng use fish based sauce and they had to do with veg alternatives here. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I thoroughly enjoyed the food here. Only concern was the price was on the expensive side, but the quality and quantity makes it worth it.

An awesome experience at this restaurant. Everything about this place is so good and i loved dining here. Starting from the Ambience, and then infrastructure, the service and even the food. Food is really very delicious and at the same time affordable too. I would recommend this place 100 percent if you really are looking for some good place. Chinese food is the special here. They even have candle light dinner options and people who are looking for pure vegetarian candle light dinner would love to try this.

Although located in a building that looks deserted, Flower Drum's food was excellent! It isn't very easy to find so many vegetarian dishes and varieties in Chinese and Thai, and their menu gets you really curious to try everything. I liked the dishes made with tempay, and it was surprising they managed to give it very good flavours as per the dish it was in. The quantity of everything was quite sumptuous! Loved the iced honey lemon tea so much, will recommend it as a must pair up with your food! Took time with the menu, and tried everything that got me curious! Couldn't take a lot of pictures, because I was totally immersed in the yummy taste!

Pros: 1. They have their own parking space. 2. Ambience was great. 3. Not too expensive. Costed β‚Ή1000 for three. Cons: 1. They clearly mention that this place is vegetarian but for some reason, all the items that I had barely had vegetables. Looked like they were cutting costs. Tried the spicy mushroom room soup which wasn’t really spicy and as mentioned before it barely had mushrooms. The pad Thai too was not that great. 2. Quality needs to be improved overall.

Pleasantly surprised on my ignorance about this restaurant Γ s had spent two decades in Adyar from childhood... thanks to Googleji for looping this joint on my random search for "Best fried rice in chennai...the series of surprises just started first I didn't know that such a well reviewed joint is camouflaged on that building that i have crossed almost everyday... second Γ nd a bigger one is that it's vegetarian...Frankly i havent even wished for this combo in my dreams ( though am a pure veg type)..the menu was truly impressive...and the cost was indeed nominal considering the sumptous quantity they provide... Though I opted for a take away... which too was impressively coordinated.. someone gave me a call when it was ready... u just pick up and move...but I felt bad after seeing its ambience...really impressive...can host a large group even... for sure will dine in with my family next...Team Flower Drum... 3 cheers..great show guys.. and yes about the taste... why would i scratch my brain to pen down some nice words....just gratitude πŸ™

Burnt garlic fried rice, cauliflower manchurian dry and lime soda are really good. Fried ice cream is kind of average as it's not hot. Very quick service.

My first visit to Flower Drum. It was recommended by many family and friends. The food, service and atmosphere were really good. At first we weren't entirely sure if the restaurant was in the building because it looked a bit run down but the restaurant is the complete opposite. Well decorated and maintained. The staff were very courteous. They helped out with one of my friend's dietary requirements of no garlic and onion as well which was nice of them. All the food tasted delicious. I would definitely love to come here again because there is so much to try.

Flower Drum is a pure vegetarian place that serves good Thai, Chinese food. Our personal favourite here is their velvett style cottage cheese. Their fried rice range is good too. You can drop in here if you wish to have good Asian dishes. Their service and ambience is good too.

Tried spicy tofu basil paste and Thai ball curry with noodles. I absolutely loved it. One plate of each dish was more than enough for two. We couldn’t finish the food, the staff were friendly enough to pack the remaining food as takeaway. Taste - Good. Quantity - Sufficient. Ambience - neat and peaceful. Cost - nominal.

Excellent food as usual! Our favorite place to have Thai and pan asian food! Honey chilli Lotus stems taste amazing.. the Me Goreng noodles were really spicy so beware of that! Apart from that had the flower drum fried rice which was mild and good along with Manchurian gravy balls! Overall lovely experience!

100% pure vegetarian Chinese restaurant in adayar. The servants are receiving the customers and serving in very good manner and respect ! Maintenance is very good . They keep hotel in Chinese style by keeping (Chinese sculptures and paintings) near to dining area. Try soup.... it's taste was superb, anyway I don't know that soup name , because I don't know Chinese 😁

What a fantastic place! I'd seen this restaurant so many times while driving along the adyar flyover but i never ventured because it was a pure veg place. Finally went because a student of mine wanted to visit and gosh was I surprised! First of all, there's a LOT of seating. Service is quick. And the quantity is ridiculously SUMPTUOUS! Generally Chinese places are known for their generous portions but this place is on another level. Fantastic flavours, competitive pricing, and very very filling. Absolutely top marks to this place 😁

One of the best pan-asian vegetarian restaurant around Adyar. The quantity is apt for the cost and doesn't seem too expensive. The service is really good and the staffs are friendly. They are ready to explain how the dish tastes, ingredients and speciality, that's really positive. The ambience and lighting is great and is photogenic. Good place to go as large groups, has ample space. Since it is situated on the main road, parking might be a problem during weekends. The restaurant is usually slightly crowded, and they serve on first come basis (no reservations on dine in). Overall a good and positive experience, definitely a must visit.

Chinese and Pure Vegetarian! As the name suggested, I thought it is a bouquet shop. Proved a quality restaurant. Was there for a team dinner. Right from suggesting menu to serve it without a flaw made our evening memorable. There were so many items on the menu, I am tasting for the first time. Great ambience with parking of 30 cars behind in that location is pleasant surprise. Followed covid protocols. Simply put flower drum had earned so many repeated customers.

Good restaurant overall, and good food on the menu. The quantity was good, especially the main course quantity would definitely fill a couple of persons easily. Apart from this some of the dishes were too saucy and the prices were almost on the medium-higher range. Ambiance was good, and service was a bit slower even on a less crowded days. They have a separate couple dining room where you can bring in your loved ones for a romantic date. Apart from this the parking is good and has enough room to park 20 cars at a time.

Thai and Chinese based Vegetarian food. Service was quick and good. Food was quite good. Somehow the taste has gone down a bit I felt from my last experience which was however more than a year ago. Overall satisfying. The quantity of each item was more than sufficient. Vegetarians looking for variety can visit Flower Drum once in a while.

One the best experience we had in Chennai.. Super delicious food, Chinese, Thai, Burmese etc. Very calm place you can always go here and have the continental and above mentioned food, that too with family. Service is awesome, quantity is very good, price is very realistic. We loved every single bite of it. Thank you flower drum team, your made our day with the magic of your hands and the expertise you have acquired over the years.

Best place to eat Thai food.. added advantage is it's pure veg.. service is also good.. parking is available at backside, even though it's spacious but looks creepy coz of less lights.. it will be nice if they work on ground floor entrance.. it's not is giving positive vibes

Had been there for dinner and had ordered Crispy Lotus Stem and Schezwan Momos. Both were quite oily and tasted just about ok. Also ordered Fried Ice Cream which was pretty good. The seating is cramped if you take a table for two. Hardly any place to keep the food and the plates. They need slightly bigger two seater tables.

The place was awesome. The staff were very lovely and nice. They were extra nice to baby and took care well. The baby high chair was proper height with the table and was very comfortable. The food was very good portion sizes were good for two people to share. They gave steamed veggies and fruits for the baby, which was very good. Overall a great experience.

One of the best fully vegetarian Asian restaurants in the city. They have a wide menu with plenty of vegan options as well. Their food portions are very generous and can easily be shared by 2 people. The food tastes very authentic and they make it with great care. Most of the items were available and the service was quick. The restaurant has nice seating arrangements for small and large crowds. They have a parking lot in the building compound.

Nice ambience, tasty food and good service. Good range of vegetarian food - soups, starters, dumplings, noodles etc. Our group of 4 weren't very hungry so we didn't go after majority of the menu. We stuck to sharing plates, soup and dumplings mostly.

The food is good but I don't know why the waiter didn't want us to take the Temphe curry. Was the main chef absent when we went there?? The restaurant by itself was good in the interior but the building was in a bad condition. Parking in the compound was ample.

The ambience is good. The service is pretty quick, can also be a disadvantage. The staff behaviour is good and polite. Not advisable for single or couple. Minimum strength should be 4 to enjoy the variety and food here. Ideal would be 5 people. Best dish: Corn Cornett

MUST TRY : Thai soups and deserts.. You will LOVE IT!! Can be improved on Momos. The spicy chutney is not the one that should be for momos, also they lack in taste. Rest all the food was top notch and service was super good.

Nice place to dine. Fully vegetarian. Authentic Thai flavours. Each portion is big. We ended up with starters! We could not get to main course. May be next time, we have to skip starters and directly go for main course.

This is my post lockdown experiences from Flowerdrum a pure vegetarian Chinese and Thai based cuisine. With a better expectations, I started meal course with their cheese corn & Spinach Momos, which had a very less quantity of cheese. Coming to the second starter that is stuffed fried Mushroom was good which had good spices and would recommend for spice lovers. This is my first try with the pan fried noodles, which was bland that was balanced with the over all meal course. Over all it was pretty decent.

Gobi Manchurian and spicy soup is must try, if you are having cold πŸ˜„. It’s very spicy. I loved their fried rice and dumpling. Kids loved the dumpling. Ambience is very good. I see one couple having anniversary celebration in a private space over there. Good romantic date dinner place.

Beautiful place and delicious food to go with it! I will be honest, the food is on the pricier side and it's not exactly a place where you'd want to go for a quick bite, but seriously, this place is a delight. The ambience is soothing and pleasant. The customer service is great and I will keep on talking for days about the food options. The dimsums... just wah! I'm in love! Flower drum is one of the very few restaurants that has made me fall in love with vegetarian food. Foodies of all sorts, veg or non-veg, this place is a must visit for you guys.

Went to this place during a weekend for dinner. The place was pretty crowded and much noisier. Would recommend booking in advance. The seats were also placed very closely, hence the noise was really bothering. Apart from that, the food was excellent and their soups are a must try. The price is also decent. One of the best vegetarian Pan Asian restaurants to try in Chennai
