Worst experience.. we waited more than 30 min even though we blocked the slot in prior.. The place n rest rook not @ all hygiene n dirty Don feel comfortable to sit n eat Mainthing about food they donnserve hot , food is very Average repeated dishes..so many dishes missing Charge for Bahubali thali rs.1999 plus worst not @ all worst

The resturant is a old one . Washroom was bad, they had no parking, service was a lot bad too , they didn't poure water for a long time even. Ordered for fish fry meals the fish they gave was really old that it smelled very badly , attached the picture of the fish. The gravy they provided all looked alike and tasted pathetic. I even doubt if they add the same Masada for chicken gravy and mutton gravy . The over all experience was not good at all , The same Ponnusamy restaurant in Adyar is such a good one .

A very good restaurant for non vegetarian food. We do an online order and their packing was extremely good. Their mutton briyani and chicken 65 briyani were the worst dishes today. The others were really good and tasty. So please do not try their briyanis.

We had Parota with chettinad chicken gravy and both the dishes were very good . Parota was nice and crispy. The gravy had the right flavours . Chicken biryani was not good . Maybe it was made in the afternoon and we had gone for dinner . Overall food was tasty and quantity was sufficient for 1 person . Ambience needs improvement.

It was not clean ! I have been to other brnacged of ponnusamy and this one is spoiling their brand. They only have 1 manager running the entire show no adequate staff but it's the only south Indian non veg shop in that stretch for few kilometers Food was ok and quantity was sufficient

I had a very disappointing experience with this hotel since I herd lot of hypes from some friends. The food I paid here is 5 times more than it's worth. Very high priced food at this useless restaurant. Briyani doesn't have any soul in it. Typical 100Rs meals charged here for 310Rs. Fish meals of 310Rs. contains a small bowl of fish fry, unlimited rice with plain fish gravy, plain chicken gravy, plain mutton gravy... all looked like salna provided in a typical parota shop.. Please reconsider it's worth before fixing price for any food. And provide good food for the money paid.

Ponnusamy hotel has got many branches across Chennai. This review is related to the one which is situated in Shollinganallur,OMR. Have been here for "Bahubali Thali 🍛🍱" Ponnusamy hotel is one such brand to bring out the Bahubali Thali to Chennai. Usually jumbo thali are famous and common in North. This is how! : A giant plate with too many cups filled with Curry and fry. A plate is for 4 person. ie. 4 pax will be allowed to share a single thali. Price of a Bahubali thali is 1600/- How was it? If you are a guy who can eat without any restrictions, this one is for you. If you are the one who is focused just on tasting all the cups, this is just money. Taste and quality : There are more than 60+ items on the plate, and hard to list everyone. To put it simple, I'll mention some meals, from which you can decide. Bahubali Thali = South Indian meal + Andhra meals + North Indian meals + Chinese (friend rice + soup) + mutton kola balls + chicken 65 + prawn+ one piece fish + biriyani (veg, chicken and mutton) Desserts (served with plate) = a cup of gulab jamun (3 pieces only) and a cup payasam 😏 and 2 Banana. When asked for extra jamun and payasam the staff refused. Hospitality: They greeted with smile and the staff was patient enough to explain all the menu. Once you start to eat, the staff never bother to any of your queries or complaint. A plate of 4, has only 3 gulab jamun and 2 banana with a single cup payasam, and when raised a question the staff never bothered and ignored us even when asked for water. Did we complete : off course no😣 few items were already cold when given, and we were not able to complete. This is just for the size and not for quality. I'm not sure about the other branches. We din feel like the food was wow. It was just okay. 1.6k for a giant Thali, and the quality does not meet your expectations. Disappointed a lot. Note : book in prior and it takes 30 mins for them to arrange the plate.

i have never seen this kind of bad experience. very worst environment. food quality very worst. even mutton is half cooked. after eating the food i faced stomach ache. i have spend 150 for mutton soop and 320 for mutton kari soru. even food is not testy.

Hotel looks good. Order food late service. Recently try chicken kothu ,it's very oil. Then ordered tandoori but they give single cup minus. Otherwise it's good.

Ponnusamy hotel has lost its name. We ordered prawn biryani and prawn was stinking and it spoiled the entire biryani. Place looks untidy. They are giving water in a paper cup lol.

Roadside hotel using the old popular hotel, only cost is premium food is worse. Never disappointed like this in recent years. Meals cost is approximately 200, gravy and veggies provided was like made from leftover vegetables. No curd provided, buttermilk provided was just water added to curd in 1:10 ratio no salt nothing of a basic flavour. Non veg gravies proved with meals was pathetic, I would give a 5 star rating to roadside shops compared to this. Mutton Biriyani is just a basmati tomato rice with worst flavour. Not at all worth for the money. Could keep complaining all dishes ordered. Food not served hot. Never would visit any of Ponnusamy branches nor recommend to any.

In that nearby loction it's a budget friendly and calm atmosphere hotel with comfortable seats and various dished of veg and non-veg menu, Taste of the food is good with decent quantity. You can feel chill with their jigarthanda and feel full with their veg and nonveg dishes. Overall experience is good and peacefull dine in , Their service also good and feels friendly. Order will take some time.

The service is really bad. They served rice with a very bad smell. After we were informed only they checked and agreed the smell but still they served it to other customers. I will never visit the place again.

Surprisingly the chicken noodles were very good! But the Ponnusamy's Chettinad cuisine was average. Chicken meals were good but a bit expensive. Meen kulambu in the fish meals was a total disappointment. The restaurant should look into the overall hygiene. The wash area was not properly maintained and the tables were not clean.

Please do not visit this place It is extremely unhygienic. Sauce containers are not cleaned with old food fallen into them. Insects and mosquitoes are too many in the place. The waiters do not seem to be understanding the order without repeating multiple times

Hi friends visited this hotel on August 2022.i was expecting a good ambience. very sorry to inform that it did not meet my expectations. Toilets were not clean. Water was dripping from the AC.Seats were torn and the walls need to be painted. Management need to take a notice of the little things to attract more.Expecting a good food ,good table service, good ambience in coming days.thanks.👍🇮🇳🙏

Worst experience. They dont have more than half of dishes which they got it menu card.We ordered prawn fried rice and the prawn was overcooked and mutton masala which barely got 3-4 pieces which was not worth for the price.This authentic hotel lost its name💯.

This hotel is near Vivanta, saw reviews which were not good.... but this hotel food was tasty and the quantity is too much to eat for one person, ordered mutton fried rice and grilled chicken.... fried rice was average but grilled chicken was good

I have tried Karu soru and Prawn Biryani here and that's really a Top notch especially that Kari soru which is so authentic. Ambience is Good. Service is better. Cost wise it's bit high and if you feel it's high, think the Quality of food and it's reasonable then. Try Kari soru once bcos it's too good when I visited here.

I almost never give out bad reviews, but the Ponnusamy brand name is very close to my heart since I have been eating here since childhood. For this specific branch, I think the first time I ever ordered was around 16 years ago. All that said and done, I have a standard order here: chicken fried rice and chilly chicken dry Chinese. The chilly chicken is still good, but the fried rice is terrible. Ambience is worse, wash basins and toilets worn out, it's easy on the pocket though. The staff try their best to serve well, but one can safely assume that they're just riding on the brand name. Visit here only if you're nostalgic like me, many better options within a 5km radius.
