I came here to have a cappuccino, it was dark. The interiors were cozy and beautiful. Although, I arrived in "not to busy hours", but the vibe must be upbeat when in full flow. I like Kathy's suggestion, Velveteen Rabbit is indeed a good one! 😜🤣

Way too expensive for such a restaurant. Vibe was alright but the service was damn poor. I had to wait for the waiter to come to table for half hour even though we called him for the Menu. Then the starter served so late and our main course never arrived because it was closing time but they dint even tell us that they cancelled the order. Only after finishing our starters, and waiting for another half hour we asked them for the main course and they said it cannot be prepared. They have Live DJ music but it's way too loud for such a small restaurant. Couldn't even hear person next to us.

A wonderful place to be with family, friends or even alone. Good music which doesn't invade your personal space. Comfortable seating set up. With Live Telecast. The packages are really worth the price. Ambience and design was top notch. Their Sour Dough bread was one of the best I have had in my life. Good Pizza, Bagel and Pasta. Chicken was a bit let down. They can also avoid some dishes like Onion rings which fell flat. Other than that, you will love the place!

The DJ plays killer tunes, old school music. Interesting theme and interiors, based on characters from Alice in Wonderland. Food is fantastic. Nice place or small gatherings and parties.

Went there on a Saturday night with reservation. Took some time to get a place. The service was a bit slow. Staff there tried their best to make it right. Food tasted amazing. Would have tried few more cocktails had the service been faster.

Food here is delicious no doubt. But the service was extremely slow and we had to follow up multiple times on the order. Even inspite of repeatedly asking them an item that we ordered was missed out. The time we visited wasn't even the peak hours. So the service here needs so much improvement.

Great ambience and theme. Can visit with friends and families. Liked the food and drinks options they have. Staff is very friendly and service was good. They also project live sports on the screen so you won't miss it if you are following any sports. The background music might feel bit louder for some but it goes well with the theme.

We took the space in the basement for a private event and the space was very classy Food was excellent. The place allowed us to play our own music or connect to the DJ playing upstairs. Service and drinks were great too and the price to block it in was not bad either for the evening. Thanks to the VR team for the great service and good hot food!

The place is small,not much place for a dance floor. The dj was good so was the music and sound system. the sports channel running through a projector is also of good quality. disappointed with the food. Terrayaki chicken was below average so was the hummus. The cocktails are all passion fruit based. The food and beverages are minimum 500. The food portions are large. btw the chilli cheese toast was good .

Awesome place for drinks and food. The name, dangling signboard, French windows, unassuming-yet-stylish ambience, tree-lined avenue - everything about this place gives an European vibe. Food is fantastic. It's a mixed menu with multiple cuisines. You can order any item randomly from the menu, and it won't disappoint. Ambience is quite stylish, and tastefully done. There's a mezzanine floor that's opened only when the place is full, and at times restricted to couples. Pricing is quite premium; service is great. I recently dined at Velveteen Rabbit, and it was an outstanding experience! The Chicken Tikka Pizza, sweet potato fries, and Paneer Tikka were delightful. The Chicken Tikka Pizza stood out as one of the best. The ambiance was enhanced by perfect music, and the service was top-notch. A must-try for food enthusiasts! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Visited last night and this spot has been on my bucket list for a very long time. It’s a small place but the ambience and overall service was great. Starters were good but the portions were small for the price. We ordered a pizza for main course and it definitely was value for money. Must visit at-least one if you’re looking to checkout a new place in Chennai.

Nice ambience and theme. I felt the cocktails were over-priced and not worthy as it's 70% ice. Instead do take some shots or sip any beer. Food was delicious.. had cheesy fries and penne white sauce pasta.

Great ambiance. They have a smart choice of liquor. Could be a bit congested for a group of 50. The day I was there, we also had a good DJ playing all genres of music. The place is quite accessible.

I came to Velveteen Rabbit for their Sunday Brunch. We ordered everything for starters that is there on the menu for vegetarian and non vegetarian. The service is so slow- we got just 1 dish after half an hour. Did not get all the items ordered as well. The vibe and the drinks of the place are nice hence the 3 star. But service is so so so bad. Not worth the price they charge for the brunch.

The decor, space, lighting and food were marvellous! Sunday brunch was spectacular with a wide array of vegetarian and meat-based dishes. My kids and family loved it! The most amazing highlight was listening to the spectacular musician, Shilpa, belt out various songs that we hadn't heard in a long time. Sunday brunch is a MUST, if you want fabulous music, food and ambience to relax and rejuvenate. Thank you all for taking such wonderful care of us.

Best place in town to hangout with friends.. Ambience was too beautiful to resist.. their drinks menu has wide varieties to choose from, very few restobars in chennai which has offerings of cocktails based on beer.. pizza is a must try in there..

Loved the ambience. Food was great too. We tried the things listed below, everything was yum. Starters 1) Paneer makhani golgappa (Something new) 2) Cheesy kimchi fries 3) Buenos nachos Tried two mocktails 1) Baby Doll 2) Summery Melon (This one was too good) Main course 1) Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli with Tomato cream. Overall, a great experience :D

It was a pleasant evening with my friends. Located in the heart of the city, small but quiet and pleasant place. The pizza was so good that we ended up ordering the same pizza thrice. The first and second time it was good but the third time, it was a bit salty. My bad, was too hungry and forgot the names of the other dishes 🤣 On the whole, enjoyed the company with my school friends over a drink 🍻

Consider it’s a Small spaced restaurant for the location when it’s considered. We Took 3 foreign guests from Europe and got a moderate service and very late service levels. Dark lighting and no attractive atmosphere or ambience as expected. May be suitable for normal meetings and bar experience

Wonderful place, the food is definitely lip-smacking and their service was swift. The staff is very cordial and special thanks to DJ Aneesh for the lovely old-school music overall that took us down memory lane and for giving us the Bollywood numbers on request. Would also like to mention the female staff, Annie, seemed like a small girl. She was the sweetest and she handled all the customers really well. The ambience of the place is also top-notch. Made a good decision choosing this place for the weekend!

Even though its a small pub, its worth for a try. Food served here is authentic and delicious. They do have a wide variety of cocktails and it is the signature item here. Parking is not at all a concern here. Staffs are so courteous and the rates are also par with the standards. The one who deserves special mention is the DJ here. He never ever bores you with any unwanted songs and its live up to 12AM. Its a musy go place when you are in Chennai

A Must-visit-place: Cute & Budget-friendly! The ambience of this place looks nothing like its exterior view. It's cute and sweet. The lights are dim perfect for a romantic dinner and they have a huge screen also perfect for a match-day-out with friends. The drinks are reasonable and the food is yummy. We ordered Nachos ( extraordinary), Veg. Pizza ( Excellent), Risotto in tomato sauce (mind-blowing) and Tiramisu ( mouth-watering). None of the above dishes disappointed. Service can be a little quicker.

Snakes don’t have ears right? Rabbits do? Does velveteen rabbit mean a deaf rabbit?!? Why would anyone ruin such an amazing place with the risk of permanent hearing loss! You come here often, you should get your hearing checked! Frequent visits here means you are probably going deaf! I’m not exaggerating … really, I’m not. It’s painful to sit here without ear plugs … PAINFUL!!! Food, drinks, service, ambience, atmosphere, all 5 star amazing … but I can’t give any stars to a place with this much noise! Consistently over 90dB that’s just insane! To be fair, the speakers were great and audio quality was exceptional but I really don’t need blaring 90dB (measured on an Apple Watch) plus breaking my ear drums! Just sayin, I like the idea and execution of this place. It’s just too loud … way too LOUD! I have more to say (good things) about the food … we tried an assortment of items and liked almost all of it but I’m not going to waste my time writing a detailed review until they do something about the VOLUME control or rather the lack of it!!! Sorry folks, you need to know this as other reviews mention it also … not tryna troll your great place but this is something you need to hear. I’ll update my review if I come again and leave without a headache :). If you’re still reading … I liked everything else about this place. No (other) complaints.

Nice upscale bar. Good drinks with massive selection. Food was not that great. Music pretty loud. The close promptly at midnight. They turn out the lights around 11 pm. As midnight gets close, the literally kick you out. Bad when you just got a fresh drink or food!!

Legit literally the only bar in Chennai that will tell you things like "we're out of Old Monk sir, this is the last large" or "sorry today no beer". Otherwise excellent. Cozy place. Great food. Friendly and cheerful service, even when they're telling you that there's no chicken available.

When we came to know that The Velvetten Rabbit located in R.A. Puram had started a Sunday Brunch we had no hesitation in opting to spend our Sunday afternoon there. They have Four options to choose from Non Alcoholic Brunch @ Rs999, IMFL Cocktail Brunch @ Rs 1499 ,Unlimited IMFL and Wine @ Rs 1999, Sparkling Wine @ Rs 1599 ( Limited). The Food menu includes Choice of Eggs & Assorted Bread Basket, Starters and Appetizers, Pizza or Nanzza by the Slice , Main Course and finished off with Dessert. I chose the Sparkling Wine Brunch and the wine served was Sula Brut a product of Sula Vineyards located in Maharashtra. It was quite smooth and had no ill effects afterwords. We started off with the Chicken Ham Omelette, served with Hash Brown and Grilled Tomato. The ham in the omelette gave it a nice taste. Followed with the Chilly Panneer and Aloo Corn Tikki in the Veg section and Jalapeno Spiced Lamb Skewer, Chettinad Chicken Varuval and the Achari Fish Tikka. I loved the Fish Tikka and the Lamb Skewers which were just too good with the dip provided. The chicken varuval on the bone provided an authentic south Indian feel. Followed by Pizza and Nanzza which is a cross between the Pizza and our very own Naan. The Naan was topped with Chicken Tikka and loaded with cheese and was just too good. The main course I had was the Rice and Chicken Chettinad which was quite delicious with the right amount of spice just the way I like it. Finished off with the taste of the Eggless Hazel Nut Torte and the Walnut Brownie. Both didn't disappoint. The service was attentive but unobtrusive and the burrow provided a fantastic atmosphere to spend time relaxing with great wine and food on a Sunday afternoon.

Firstly food is daam good, liked all the dishes we tried. Especially "chicken cheese onion ring" was so good that we couldn't refrain from re ordering it multiple times. Among the drinks we tried "The LIIT" stands top. I felt the drinks were highly priced when compared to other pubs in Chennai but it differs from person to person. DJ was also playing really good Hindi songs, unfortunately there is no dance floor or may be it's not there since we visited on a weekday. Staff were kind and the person who served us - 'Raj Kumar' was courteous and patient though we got confused on what to order and he helped by suggesting really good dishes. Kudos to him ?.

Below par service, they're not taking orders properly. Didn't clean table as soon as finish dishes. Food was so good, but the quantity they serve for the cost they charge is too less. Exorbitant pricing. Paneer was so soft and tasty.

Amazing food and great ambience. They have low set tables at the upper seating area which are a bummer as you have to keep on leaning down to eat your food. The decor is awesome and gives you the feel of a high rate bar. Prices are high, but standard enough for places of this calibre. Would recommend going with friends for a fun time.

What an amazing bar to enjoy your day and get your soul relaxed. The ambience,music, food and most importantly drinks all was so elegant to make your mood and make yourself relaxed. Staff is also polite and helpful. Yeah, it's expensive but if you wanna chill-out then it's worthy. Bartender is also polite to serve you cocktails, drinks or shots of your choice. Must try it to have one of the best experience.

The moment you step in you will find an absolute place for a perfect drink. This place is very compact and cozy with dull lights, good seating arrangement and good music. They serve a variety of cocktails, wines and beers. The food is good too. They have a separate lounge area for couple and a lower floor for stags(that's my assumption). You will feel that you have just tasted the right taste of the cocktail here. It is priced a bit higher to other outlets but on the other hand you get a good experience for a break. Easily spotted from the road. They have a wallet parking facility and the staff here is really good. I would highly recommend this place.

Location - this resto bar is located in 2nd Main Road, RA puram in close proximity to a lot of restaurants. Parking - they have a valet parking available. Ambience - perfect pub atmosphere. You will love the entrance decorated with a huge amount of bottles. Inside area is very darkly lit and perfect for a drink session 😊😊 Service - slooow but what's the deal 😁😁😁we got to enjoy the music and ambience. Food - The food menu here is soo vast and we filled our tummy just with the starters. We didn't even order main course. The must try starters here are blue cheese chicken tikka, Thai chilli chicken, chettinadu rib chukka. The BBQ pork ribs tasted good but the meat quantity was so less. And the cheese burst tandoori cauliflower was a disaster. The cauliflower was too raw. Otherwise we loved the starters. Coming to desserts we loved the cheese cake and pannacotta 😍😍 so yummy. Drinks they have a really big cocktail list but coming to mocktails its very limited. But even those mocktails tasted very diluted and we lost interest on the drinks. A great place to have some casual time with friends. It's small n cozy. There is no dance floor. The overall ambience is dimly lit but a good one. There is a screen which telecasts matches. They have a wide variety of cocktails and drinks. Drinks are quite cheap but the food price is on the higher side. They do have zomato gold. Smoking zone and sit out area outside. Overall a good place to hang out with friends.

Located in Alwarpet, the Velveteen Rabbit is a small pub. There is no dance floor as such. They do screen matches. They have 2 levels - a ground and Mezzanine. The lighting could be better though. Good for small settings as well as groups. Pocket friendly! Very courteous staff.
