Went to had breakfast on a Sunday morning in Ambattur branch. After hearing so much about the shop. It was utter dissapontment ! They served four chutney none was up to the mark. It was so blend ! And the price tag for the products was unbelievable ! A uthapam cost 111 rupes ! :/ Quantity and quality was not up to the mark as they charge for the products. They don't serve a menu card or displayed the prices of the products ! May be because people run after seeing the prices. Will never visit again and will never recommend to anyone. Giving it 1 star because can't able to give 0.

This place is really good for what they are famous for. But I really wish, they would improve on this service and hygiene front. Most of the time the folks who clean the table don't clean properly. And half the time the banana leaf is not practical enough to have so many chutneys and sambar. Maybe they should think about having plates under the leaf like many other restaurants. But otherwise, the food tastes really good, and that's all that matters for many.

This is a good restaurants. Some of the Murugan Idli shops are not that good and I had lost hopes. But this restaurant is good, it has decent ambience, good menu, and good taste. Do try onion uthappam here. They use small onions. I have eaten onion uthappam where the big onion is finely chopped and added to the batter to prepare onion uthappam. This small onion uthappam was much better in taste. Service is quick and the waiters are cordial. Prices are nominal. Only issue is this restaurant is in a remote location and not many people know about this restaurant. There is also a sweets and snacks shop nearby.

It's was good brakefast in that shop price are reasonable and the quality was good and service are also good over all good place for food..

I had bad experience with murugan idli for quite some time and I was unsure checking this place. But to my surprise the rava dosai was so yummy and crunchy the way I asked for and chutnies and sambar were tasty as well. The service was good especially the hospitable lady who suggested to have the yummy paniyaram as well. Since they have centralized kitchen I was puzzled why here it's good and other locations were not good but bland. Then I found that here they are adding adequate amount of salt while in other places they don't even check the salt and hence the taste is bad Keep it up guys.

Food was not hot and tasty especially at the lunch hours. Had to keep asking for service of sambar and chutney though they were not occupied at all.. Too much flies at the eating place ..

Beware: If you are not interested in your life you can very well go to this hotel. Tonight when my 58 year old mom was having idli she found a stapler pin inside it. I am shell shocked to see that. She found it when she had that piece of idly in mouth. What if she ate it what if if this idly was served to a 2or 3 year old child Horrible, i advise people who visit this hotel to be very cautious better avoid having food over there. God saved my mom that's all i can say.

Very expensive don't go to this hotel not that much taste for this price range. Single ghee roast -121 (without GST not worth for thar) Single vada - 31 (without GST) very normal vada Am very disappointed for that vada price. Total 2 ghee roast 2 vada - 319 with GST.

In the past they have earned a good name and Goodwill. But now they are not giving much interest to keep the Goodwill earned. The quality and taste is not comparable from the inception. To keep your customers still in your books you have to make a time travel to your earlier days.

I had the idly and chinna vengaya podi dosai. Idly is very normal and soft. Chinna vengaya podi dosai is crispy and the taste is top notch. Must try a dish here.

This was my husband and my first trip to India. Our friends recommended this place and it was amazing! This was our first meal in Chennai and we had no idea what to expect. We fell in love with the garlic podi dosa, filter coffee, and idli here. In our next few days in Chennai, we tried different restaurants but still loved this the most. I think the service made a difference to our bias. The staff were amazing. Although there was a bit of language barrier, they still provided the warmest welcome. Highly recommend.

I've been here many times. It's one of my favourites. Description Is not necessary to explain the taste and quality of this place, It's always been awesome, specially the taste of chakri Pongal served here would be fantastic. Good location, good parking facility and well maintained place. Visited recently one afternoon. We ordered meals and a variety of rice. The taste wasn't as good as before, However I would still wish to give them 5 stars happily, since they were the best In taste all these years

This franchise is not very crowded and has friendly staff members. The staff clean the tables infront of you and offer great range of food options. Very affordable and tasty food 😊 has become a regular spot for us and highly recommend it.

My favourite place for South Indian food in Chennai.. The dosa and idlis are just awesome... On top of that they give you 4 different chutneys like onion, garlic, coconut etc...

Had worst experience.. sambhar is made in morning and they are serving after heating in the evening...same goes with chuttney..ordered valakai bajji and not worth the money...road side tea shop master can make better bajji..very expensive place to have food...one panner dosa 200 rupees...two pieces small flat bajji 60 rupees...for each dish have to wait minimum 15 minutes...

It WAS a good restaurant. It WAS!!!.. Though the food remains good even today, the service has reduced drastically. There is no adequate manpower, which they needs to concentrate.

Good place to dine in with family.. Usually have my breakfast while going to office. Vada is priced on thee higher side. But, definitely worth giving a shot.

Dosa batter is not fermented, just they grind and prepare dosa. Sambar, chutney taste has come down drastically. The taste has come down because they focus on opening new restaurants. My kids used to enjoy the Jigartunda and that quality of taste also has come down.

Only place other than small shops where you don't need to distrub the waiter for chutney or sambar is murugan idli shop. It's really annoying in eateries where they serve sambar in cups, especially some one like me who equally consumes more sambar/ chutneys while having dosa or idli. Here service was quick but, the place ambience and cleanliness can be improved still.

Food is OK. All their upsell is super worst. That's not the way to sell and sweets are very bad. Too pricy for the products.

The worst experience ever ... There were no staffs to attend and every time we have to keep on calling the waiter to each and every item. Food is of below average quality and taste. Obsolete waste of money to spend here. This shop no longer serving as authentic Murugan Idli shop. I ordered Onion podi Uttappam, the server brought half cooked Onion Uttappam which was nowhere near the one's we previously used to have, for this they took more than 15 minutes to serve. Even the Podi idli, podi dosa are not upto the mark. This place has lost it's value it used to have..

Good family restaurant. Nice and clean Atmosphere. Good and quick service. No long wait for food to arrive. Only 10 - 15 mins for food to be prepared. Food has been prepared once the order is taken not pre-cooked food is given. Good for health. Best tifin restaurant I would personally recommend you to take your family to that restaurant to eat and enjoy your meal to your fullest 😋
