Very disappointing experience. I have been served food after almost 45 mins that too I have ordered only a plate of non veg meals. Food was not up to the mark. Staff didn't respond properly. Surely not a good place to have food

Really old place which serves good south Indian nonveg for Over 20 years. Visited them after really long time and the food was good. Been there for typical nonveg meals and they didn't disappoint. Their Kari soru is must try which is a recent addition. Their chicken chukka and mutton chukka was great. Usually serve food quickly and most recommended for lunch than dinner.

We went for team dinner by Wednesday at 7.30pm. The restaurant was not crowded and almost free, but we didn't expect that whatever we ordered they said not available and at last we ended up sticking with only the availability of their choice. Really very disappointing for all of us. They simply said that afternoon an unexpected crowd at the restaurant struggled to handle it and also they will not stock much for the dinner so few items were not available. But, first they said sea foods like prawns and fish fry were not available, after placing an order they said only chicken items were available and mutton side dish varieties like kola, liver fry etc. were also not available. Anyway we got a mutton biryani but the quantity was average, mutton and chicken soup good. The fish finger was good, also crab lollipop as they suggested was good. Another set of our people went for dosa, chapathi and chicken varieties as a lot of their choices not available. Overall we felt good, even though the expected or our favourite were not available we ended up satisfied with what we got and no issues of any stomach problems.

Disappointed with the quality of food. I got the lunch goat meals. It was ok quantity. But very cheap ingredients. The mutton was all fat and ligaments. The chicken 65 I ordered tasted like chicken bhajji. It was one of my fav restaurant growing up. sad to see the quality go down so much.

Jan 19 2024 , we friends of four went to lunch and we have ordered chicken nattu kozhi briyani, while serving they said we won't prepare separate briyani we will add only gravy of country chicken, ok it's fine but then while eating it I felt some bad taste and rotted smell came out of it, initially we didn't make any scene or complain , I just ate one piece of country chicken and stopped eating it, literally suffered a lot, food poisoning even my frnds too faced the same who and all ate that country chicken piece. I dono how this people are irresponsible.... making only fresh briyani and serving with old stocks of gravy just heating it.. how can they serve like this. We didn't have any proof other than bill and transaction I'd to justify this.. please don't visit this hotel.. literally how can they serve like this? Will they be responsible if some other severe issues happened for us?. Food safety officers do visit this shop and kindly check the kitchen and stocks!!!! PS: the waiter informed that we only serve gravy with briyani and we don't prepare particular briyani type . Eg: if prawn or fish briyani means they will serve with prawn semi gravy on top of briyani just like how thokku briyani will be served...

The traditional dishes like Mutton bone soup and chicken chettinad was a hit, so was the chicken lollipops and Mutton chukka fry. In the end white rice and rasam was heaven. Top it off with panneer goli soda.

Food is good. Delay in taking order as 1 person has to manage 2 floors. May be worth waiting to have a decent meal.

What kind o hotel say no to a woman to use their washroom in case of emergency? I ask them politely about my friend that she need to use your washroom but they rudely denied and ask for me but something from them only then only I can use their washroom. Worst and worst In even our law it is written that no hotel should say no to this. Even this is basis humanity. Do yourself a favour and don't visit this place. I will never ever visit any of the branch as I had this experience. Very bad.

Taste is good. But the quantity of combo briyani is very less. Kari soru and chicken 65 is awesome. Service also good. Food on time.

We were visited this place at night I was almost late night so too pleasant we were only the one in the hotel. My friends order chicken special biryani and motton biryani it was delicious and charging more but servering less quantity if a guy like hulk goes to fill his stomach he will come out with empty Pocket

Too much waiting time & it's not at all biryani. Even kushka will be better than biryani.

There was a time when this place was known for its fantastic Chettinad cuisine. Sadly that was a different time. My disappointment has grown over the last couple of times I've visited. The food is nowhere close to what it was. I really hope they turn a corner and get their zing back. What was a landmark is now a travesty.

It's a very worst, I cant even express my disappointed in words, these people don't even know what is there in the menu and what they are preparing, Consider my case as example and take your chances We have ordered one paneer pulav, veg fried rice and paneer fried rice, waiter first bought veg fried rice and paneer fried rice and said it as paneer pulav, after some time he brought one more item and then said it as paneer pulav, when we asked what is paneer pulav he can't even differentiate betwee both paneer pulav and paneer fried rice, that worst the situation is, finally some other person came and said one dish as paneer pulav and comedy is they just fried rice in ghee and added pain paneer pieces in that nothing else and tell us that this is paneer pulav, after huge argument finally they said this is how our dishes will be, We ordered chilly Gobi and chilly paneer and they bought Gobi and paneer pakoda, By seeing the menu if you order then you are done here, what ever you ask they will say this is how we serve and this is what we give, very rude behaviour from all the staff. We waster our whole time did get food and Got a huge bill, worst experience in chennai

Today i ordered prawn masala through swiggy and the taste was very poor above all the prawn masala has filled with fish thorn and other shell. It made me feel we were eating the left over from someone plate. I wasted 300rs buying it.

Today I have placed 3 muttoitn biryani and grilled chicken from egmore BranBranchesch through swiggy but the quality of the food is not good and the mutton also not good. I felt unhappy. Even they've not give the bill for the purchase of Rs. 1250/-Please avoid such a bad thing

This place is hanging on the glory of its legacy by a few threads. Taste was just ok and the interiors seemed a little gloomy. Taste of the food is just average nothing to write home about. Would I visit again, Yes. If I have to recommend this place to any one visiting from elsewhere, looking for an exceptional experience, then I would not recommend this place.

Gave 5 star for the taste of the food. We ordered "Mutton kari soru" and also some veg items, all are so tasty and hot. Reasonable price.. Quantity and quality is good. Worth a try for both NonVeg and Veg food.

costly Don't prefer veg biryani or veg pulao bcoz you don't get any veg kind of gravy with veg rice items. Starters are good

This is a non vegetarian chettinad hotel. It has branches all over Chennai.Its is a special place to be. It was set up long ago.Its got a good reputation. The food served is spicy and very delicious.It is a nice restaurant to go to for any occasion.The service is very prompt and tats one of the reasons why i like to come here regularly.Enjoy good food here at affordable price....

Awesome. I tried Fish curry soru here.... Awesome taste but those who want more spicy can try fish curry soru. Then I tried prawn biryani but it's not up to the mark from my point of view. Just putting the prawns with chicken biryani kushka is not prawns biryani.... Pls take care.

Today went to Ponnusamy hotel for lunch after more than 20 years, having a hope to taste good food. Ordered chicken biryani for 3 people and very very disappointed. Biryani no hot, flavour or taste. Chicken pcs are rubbery. May be they have served y'day leftover food. Waste of money.

I have recently visited to this place for my friend's birthday. We have ordered mutton biriyani for our lunch. We waited for more than a hour but the biriyani was not yet served. We have asked the waiter related to the status of our order, but we didn't got any effective result. We didn't got biriyani even after one and a half hours. So we left the hotel. They should take much more better care on customer service!
