Near to neat railway 🚂 station. Not much crowded. The best way to travel to Parrys corner or Central station or Marina beach ⛱️ or Mylapore, Thiruvanmiyur etc. Very cheap travelling via Local train 🚆 in second or first class.

The station got more entrance and exits, so be careful in choosing the right way. Local train is very very cheap. Go with this save petrol. We can cover a 20km with 10rs. We will reach at destination fast, road is full of traffic. For going MAS central railway station, take ticket for park town railway station (it is near to central railway station, walkable distance).

Important railway station. Beach to Velachery all route connected for use of City people. Now it is connected to saint thomas mount. Nearby Thiruvanmiyur & OMR ,Near by Guindy industrial area . Well development. Due to This Railway station Travel to Central and Beach station time saved.

Ticket counter is available in the first platform.. when we enter from the other side it has signs to ticket counter which leads to nowhere. The pay and use toilet is not in use.

The station serves as a major transportation hub for commuters traveling between the southern suburbs and the city center. is equipped with basic amenities such as ticket counters, waiting halls, restrooms,(no great overall) and well parking facilities.subway available but It is easier to cross the railway tracks to get out It would be good to change that. The station are kept very clean. It would have been a bit better if the seats etc had been modernized. The time has come for the railway station in a big city like Chennai to be modernised.

The start of MRTS to Chennai Beach.Large scale infrastructure where most of the places is not in use.Rather than cost of train need much more people attraction inside the premises.

Easily approachable from Adambakkam/ OTA via thillai ganganagar subway. While coming from Guindy too use the road opposite to OTA then take the Thillai ganga Nagar Nagar subway to reach velachery railway station

MRTS.To go beach, this is the railway station from south Chennai or atleast from OMR. Very calm and no much crowd you can see here like Tambaram- beach line. You can enjoy the view in this line. But main issue here is rest room facilities very bad, no drinking water. Food court is available outside the railway station run by IRCTC but it is costly. Not much to except from this railway station related to facilities.another important issue is for more than 10 years , it is much exactly more the connection line between Velachery and st Thomas mount is pending. We don't know when it will start. If this connection is done it will be very grateful for public.

Velachery railway station is very clean. Announcements are useful. Handicap people are struggling to cross to platform 2 or 3. There is no proper guidance from railway authorities. In this line almost in all stations except few, no one is there to guide properly except one police personnel. Railway authorities should make surprise visits to stations and see how the atmosphere of the stations are. Let us hope for the best in the future.

According to reports, the Madras High Court has permitted the Southern Railway to remove the encroachments on the contentious 3.9-acre land owned by the government in Velachery worth over Rs 150 crore. It was allotted by the State government 15 years ago for the Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) project. Interestingly, one of the ‘encroachments’ that will have to be moved is a fish market constructed on a 20-cent land by an AIADMK member. News reports say that the MRTS services will be extended upto Velachery in April 2007. Velachery Railway station as it appears on March 17, 2007.

Velachery train station is a well-maintained station in Chennai. The trains are frequent and the staff is helpful. The station is clean and has good amenities. Overall, I would recommend this train station to anyone looking for a quality experience.

Clean, well maintained railway station with a frequent schedule of trains which run till Chennai Beach station. The railway station is accessible from two sides, with ample parking for both 2-wheelers and 4-wheelers. The only drawback is that the ticket counter is situated at the main entrance, so passengers entering from the secondary entrance will have to walk all the way to the main entrance on the other side to get their tickets.

It has 3 platforms. Trains upto Beach ,Avadi,Gummudipundi start from here It has a small restaurant, ATM. Crossing for platforms is tough and not elderly friendly. Congested parking space with no floor and roof no CCTV camera pno adequate lights. Clean and tidyness poor

Great value for money public transport. Good Connectivity for major areas of Chennai metro. The stations need to be better maintained as it is NOT AT ALL ELDERLY FRIENDLY!! Surprising lack of lift or escalator or cleanliness in this billon dollar government project of years!!

One of the best stations of MRTS chennai. You can travel upto Beach Station which is almost 16 kms for Rs. 10 whereas by cab they charge ₹300 to ₹400. I find the ticket fare is the cheapest in the entire world. You are assured to reach in 30 minutes. The upkeep of the station is reasonable. But in next coming two years, the station will become as the most sought after, once St Thomas station is connected to it. You can park your vehicle in the stands and proceed for your work without any worry. This station came into existence due to the efforts of PMK. No doubt the area around Velachery is growing day by day because of this Station.

This is the Last station of this route... There are lot of birds like crows and pigeons inside the railway station. Rest rooms are not well maintained and very less benches to sit down. Lacking of cleanliness.Paid parking available for two wheelers..

The best way to reach north Chennai is via Velachery to the beach train. The frequency of the train is every 30 minutes. Parking is available for 12hrs and is 15 rupees. Velachery Food Karnival, Chennai silks are very near walkable distance around 200 metres and even PVR Grand mall,DMart and Reliance trends are around 500 metres. Cons The maintenance of the railway station is average and a ticket counter is available at the entrance so park your vehicle and go to the front gate for tickets

However, the area's appearance is somewhat shabby, in need of construction and improvement. Many constructed spaces are underutilized, with numerous abandoned buildings. Optimizing these structures could revitalize the area and make it more functional for residents and visitors alike.

Train Services are currently operating between Velachery and Chindadripet only (Get latest update at ticket counter whether services are back till Beach station). Govt. MTC Buses are available within Chindadripet railway station premises to support transportation to nearby locations like Central Railway station, Broadway, Parrys etc.

The Velachery MRTS Station is a ground level station on the Chennai MRTS railway line in Chennai. It is located near the junction of Velachery Main Road and Inner Ring Road in Velachery. The station is built on the northern banks of Pallikaranai wetland.

I've seen many people come here without a ticket and get caught it's just 5 or 10rs come with your ticket dude if it's any emergency or you missed your ticket here's a tip for you, don't go through the front side instead go through the middle side which leads you to the bike parking lot at the back side use this trick and enjoy. Most importantly that place is peaceful.

This Velachery Railway station is very useful for people... I appreciate MRTS for keeping up for scheduled trips... Please take care of the surroundings cleaning... Parking facilities are in it... But all vehicles are open without terraces . It's very difficult for the people.

Destination on one way of suburban trains. Spacious platforms. 3 trains per hour with 20 min gap. Much Sought after suburb station as IT companies have offices around and people shuttle daily. Snacks and small restaurant available and One can get auto at the auto stand outside the station. Very much visible and located near under a flyover.

A must place for Railway Management to focus regarding cleanliness. You can also find unorganized parking of autos occupying one side of the exit. No proper Markings for passengers to know vehicle parking slots. Unfortunately the railway Management or the Incharge of this station does not bother to keep this station and ambience clean and passenger friendly.

I've seen this place built from brick to brick like 20 years now. Railways did a great job. On time trains always departure from here for every 10 and 15 minutes.

A neat & clean station. Autos & call taxis readily available outside. Staff informing passengers patiently about train leaving platform numbers. This service has to be automated.

The railway station is always a vibe. It was my first time traveling via parakkum train and it was an awesome experience. though I would like to give a 5 star. I am going by 4 star since hygiene facility could have been better as well maintenance of such great and strong infrastructure.
