Onelife has one of the best functional training spaces in the area. The gym floor is massive. There are several only platforms, racks, barbells, and kettlebells. There is a pool, tennis court, several group fitness rooms, and clean, spacious locker rooms with amenities. I came in and spoke to Shane regarding membership, I signed up the same day. The space is impressive and the customer service is great.

I have been visiting this gym frequently for several years and I would give zero stars if I could. This gym appears to have the issue of many older visitors disregarding common decency. I wouldn’t really be complaining unless this was really a widespread issue that I have heard other members mention, but unfortunately it is. I have witnessed many members being excessively nude and touching their privates while making eye contact with me SEVERAL TIMES. Ontop of the fact that many members do not have enough respect for others to not be naked constantly, the staff itself appears to be nonchalant regarding the issue, doing absolutely nothing to address this. After giving a complaint they said they would rather have me quit than actually do anything to address this clear problem, that MANY members complain about. Another added benefit is that the hot tub and pool are permanently closed and the steam room is frequently not functioning, as well as the track being shut down from water damage. My complaint was one of the many issues that this gym refuses to address and it this point it is just completely worthless. For the amount of money that you would pay for this gym, you would definitely have more a satisfactory experience elsewhere and I recommend staying far away, not only for the blatant disrespect for paying members but also for the lack of basic amenities. This gym charges around $40 a month while having the aspects of a gym you could go to for $10. It is just not worth it. If all of the above are agreeable with you, then this is the perfect gym and I hope you enjoy Onelife. If not, then you would likely have a better time going to a gym like Xsport or Golds which are less than a mile away from this gym and other drastically cheaper prices for objectively better quality.

Great place..very open space..doesn't feel suffocation..breath free while working out...love the indoor track... equipment are great and variety..great swimming pool ..hot tub, steam room...sawna...so far best place to workout...more facilities and amenities available as desired..including tennis courts...Just beware, they have very sneaky agreements..there is no way for you to cancel, even with a penalty.. except maybe if you are a lawyer..although you might have an acceptable clause..they have their own ways to make you stick...great place though...will never sign an agreement with them, at least in this life..😁

I continue to plug away at Skyline, where I first worked out in 1996. Now that I'm part of the older demographic that's still committed to getting fit, I appreciate having a home base that accommodates all skill levels. In early 2023 the gym got a shot of new blood with new multi-stations on the weight room floor. There's a slowdown on taking responsibility for equipment upkeep. Changes over the years have kept up with the times: Hoist, functional training, many studios, HIIT programs, EP, 4, Les Mills studio, see ya racquet and basketball courts and pool. The desk staff is friendly and willing to try to help! Always a greeting and welcome, even at 515 when we need it most.

Do not use this gym. Zero Stars. There are plenty of better options in the area that are not predatory. (EDIT 10/4/22 they commented and are claiming I should reach out to their member services email to resolve my concerns but I have already done so and have received no reply. Comments from “owner” are solely a PR stunt. Don’t give any weight. There will be no real follow through) Gave 30+ day notice of cancellation but was charged for two further months (so far). As many posted below have noted, they tell you to call them, then nobody is there to answer. They tell you to go in, but no one is there to help you. They tell you to email, but then they delay responses to your emails and claim to forward them to the correct people. Those people never reply. When you ask them a question or dispute your cancellation, they refuse to answer your emails. Have to now open dispute with bank and Virginia regulatory body who administers the Virginia Health Club Act.

The best part of this gym was the fitness director Chris Knight. He has sadly moved on for the same reason all members leave this gym. Total lack of care for the gym and overall member experience. Old out dated equipment, zero up keep/maintenance around the gym, and lack of cleanliness. With all that said its clear as day.. why join? why keep your membership going? even though the footprint of this gym is amazing and hard to beat every single club down to planet fitness beats it in cleanliness, equipment, and general up keep. Sadly this location is destined to close, unless the higher up corporate guys get it together and actually invest back into the gym. But we all know corporate america, regardless of industry profits over everything.. so they will continue to focus on selling memberships while the gym and member experience continues to suffer.

Turn around and don't come to this gym or its affiliates! They are very predatory with their memberships/contracts, especially when it comes to canceling. If you call the number they'll tell you to come in, when you come in they're not available. If you try and cancel online they ask you to write a letter. It's a scheme and I don't want any part of it. For those that need to cancel follow these steps: 1. Send an email to the GM and the membership email line 2. Forward the email and any response they give you to your bank 3. Have your bank block any future collections from the gym This place was cool at first but goodness gracious what a dumpster fire it has been to cancel! I'm moving out of state...not switching gyms, why is this so hard?! Good grief.

The temperature in this gym is ridiculous. It almost always FREEZING COLD in the gym, and the AC/C will still be on full blast or the ceiling fans are turned on High. Everyone in the gym is forced to workout in hoodies and sweatpants in order to stay warm. This is absolutely ridiculous for a gym, and also an injury concern as the cold temperature can lead to injury. I have repeatedly asked the trainers and front desk attendants to turn off the fans and the A/C and they won't do it. EDIT 01/14/2024 The heat issue has finally been resolved and the gym feels GREAT now. I have no more complaints.

I love this gym. The only downside is the hours. They close super early on holidays and it is not posted anywhere. As well as they close much earlier than they used too. If you like to work out in the late evening. This is not the gym for you. I recently canceled my planet fitness, results fitness and xport for this gym and I regret it. Due to closing at 9pm or 10pm or earlier it leaves everyone who works 9am to 5pm crowded in the space and has to fight for equipment. Please honor the old hours and stay open till 10pm or 11pm. Thank you

The staff at this gym are very helpful and friendly, and the gym facilities are nice. However, the company itself is terrible to deal with if you need to cancel your account. They have no problem charging your credit card every month but somehow have difficulty finding your information when you request a cancellation. They make you jump through hoops and provide really poor customer service. For this reason, I cannot recommend any Onelife Fitness gyms.

Purchased a membership online. Went to the gym multiple times to get my pass, etc. Each time I went I was told to contact the membership department because my profile had been deleted. Called membership, emailed membership and even got a call from the GM. I was told everything was set and ready. Went back to the gym again and still was told it was still deleted. I finally told them I wanted to cancel my membership since they were not upholding their end of the bargain. I was charged a cancellation fee of $119, not to mention the 3 months of fees. I disputed the charge with my credit card and they reversed it. Now I'm getting a letter in the mail every week and emails about a past due balance. Each time I try to follow up, they don't even care about the issues I've had and tell me I still need to pay the fee. US Fitness Holdings is a scam. Run the opposite direction.

This gym allows loud talking, they do not have control of the temperature in the building (it was over 5 degrees yesterday because they had the heat on), and they allow individuals to use their cell phone everywhere in the gym. The trainers sit on machines while training their clients, taking the machines from the members. Do not join!

It is almost a year since I joined, improved very much in all areas. It is a dailey practice when you come in always greeted by the front desk staff, validate your card, pick up your towel and proceed to the locker room where you change and go the gym. You find the manager office just opposit the front desk he is always available, most of the time directing and helping the staff. You find the place very clean well equipped, it has uncountable gym equipments, a steam bath, clean shower all the supplies readily available no shortages. What more one can ask for? a welcoming crews and conducive atmosphere. It has also indoors tennis court

I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the service I received regarding my gym membership. I paid in full for my 2022 membership, only to discover unauthorized monthly charges for the entire year of 2023. Despite my membership being expired and not having used the gym once during 2023, the establishment took it upon themselves to deduct money from my account without seeking my consent. No attempt was made to contact me via phone or email to discuss the renewal or inquire about my preference. This blatant disregard for communication and the unauthorized withdrawals give the impression of a scam. I am thoroughly dissatisfied with this experience and will not hesitate to caution others against joining this gym. Beware of their questionable practices.

The front desk staff (not all, but most) pick and choose who they would like to greet. Overall the gym is clean and members are nice.

The quality of this gym resembles that of a retirement home and the customer service is just as progressive. If you have 2 brain Cells and/or don’t have arthritis I’d recommend not coming here. The man at the front treated me like it was the Onelife marketing scheme to be rude to young people.

I’ve had problems in the past, but the GM was very cooperative and fixed them. The team have their challenges, but they give their best to make you feel welcome and to come back. Dennis( the GM), Jamal and Teddy are the best !

They are just making everything harder, the process to get the membership appears to be more complicated then opening a bank account that you put hundreds of thousands money. The girl who’s name is VICTORIA does not have enough customer service experience and even cannot sign you up for a membership. It’s a just gym membership not a big deal make it simple for people not everyone has time to talk to you for hours. My suggestion is to hire someone professional who could sign membership for folks easily. I came today to get my membership and start but they couldn’t even sign me up so I just went back home. That funny and disgusting at the same time.

I got injury while I was on personal training session. My personal trainer didn't say a thing when I told him I want to try higher weight and see my limit and he supposed to be knowledgeable, but he didn't say a word that this might injur you. Right now it's been 3 years since my injury. I have pain every day and been going to many doctors and taking lots of medications for pain. My personal trainer could say one word. Isn't that the purpose of getting personal trainer in gym? So u don't hurt urself!? My pain started ever since I lifted weight. I'm suffering everyday because of one small mistake. My life is awful now and I can't do my daily activities and work due to this injury. My life changed 360 degree. I was much healthier before I come for personal training sessions. Now I have to deal with pain everyday.

I won’t even be negative I’ll just say they do have a steam room and a sauna. $40 a month you really do get what you paid for. The exercise machine do work for the most part and oh yea; they do provide towels. The end.

Best no nonsense gym I've tried. I've been going here for a couple of years now, and it's been a perfect gym for me. It has all the equipment I like for total body workouts and is kept clean. I also really appreciated that when I first signed up, I never felt any pressure or gimmick to try to get me to sign up for a personal trainer or anything.

I went in today for the first time and the staff member, I believe his name was Miguel, was very unprofessional. I asked for a tour of the gym and he said it would have to be quick because he had "something more important to do." He rushed me through the gym and overall was very unprofessional and rude. Not something I would expect for a $100 a month gym.

I've used Onelife Skyline since 2013 and love the gym! It's huge, provides an enormous selection of equipment, and a good variety of group classes. It's affordable and provides everything under one roof.

Very nice gym, well kept with a great selection of equipment. Everyone is super nice. My only gripe in the past 4 months I've been here is watching multiple trainers not cue or correct bad form with their clients. I hope a manager sees this and reminds trainers that stopping the client to cue and correct form in order to prevent injury is part of the job.

The best part of my experience with Onelife Fitness Skyline over the past decade plus has been the staff. Everyone is courteous and attentive. There's a family atmosphere there, judging by how many staff members have stayed there for many years. Shout out to the manager Dennis, who's gone out of his way to welcome me and my family of four and has accommodated our unique needs, and Carol who manages the tennis program there that is especially great for kids.

  • 5/5 Death S. 1 year ago on Google
Great location, lots of space and most importantly helpful and friendly staff. Dennis the General Manager doesn’t ever hesitate in to listening and answer any questions or concerns related to equipment and amenities, he always walks the floor and talk to members which I find very helpful and professional. Kudos to that!

Don't spend your money on this gym. You can get more services at a cheaper price elsewhere. They will take away saunas and steam rooms anytime they want and make you beg for them on purpose and the front desk will tell you they don't have information about anything lol.

I have been a member at many gyms and can say this was by far my favorite. I was a member for a year before moving. The gym isn't the newest, but is always clean has all the machines and weights needed (and organized well). I love the track and turf space and flexibility to complete all different types of workouts. I haven't found this elsewhere. The staff knew my name, would ask about my job, and were a joy. There was a OneLife closer to my house but would drive further just to go to this one. Members are friendly and sociable, which is unique too. Working during the first lockdown (in-person) sucked, but going to OneLife was always a daily highlight.
