Seven Locks Animal Hospital is the best! I brought my 10 year old dog here and everyone was fantastic. I got a reminder voicemail before the appointment so I showed up with everything needed. My dog was a little fearful but Dr. Popa and Emma were great, they took their time and gave Tilly lots of treats until she was comfortable. We needed a dental procedure and the Seven Locks team made the process as pain free as possible. Their communication was great and they post-op instructions were clear and simple. Tilly is happy as can be now that she’s had her dental cleaning and extractions. Thank you Seven Locks Animal Hospital!!!

Dr. Popa and staff are knowledgeable and friendly. They completely get the behavior of my chocolate lab. I wouldn’t trust my fur baby’s care with anyone else.

This is an excellent practice. Dr Popa is a skilled diagnostician, a compassionate animal lover and a stickler for telling you treatment options and their costs. His staff is efficient, pleasant and flexible about accommodating scheduling preferences. My two cats, Coco (a Persian) and Manouche (a Siamese) have received the best care there. I was very impressed with the end of life care given to Coco, who had inoperable cancer. Manouche is a difficult cat at home but well-behaved at Seven Locks.

We've been patients with Dr. Popa and his staff since moving to the area six years ago. They've been wonderful and have taken great care of our dog, especially as he as aged and developed diabetes. I appreciate how thoughtful Dr. Popa is in his approach to care, and the way he makes sure to provide information without adding stress or worry to the mix. I would recommend his office to anyone searching for a vet.

Dr. Popa and his staff are great at what they do and truly care about animals. They have gone above and beyond normal care many many times in my experience. One example, his staff is always helpful and answers all my "common sense" questions... even when they are after hours. I have always felt heard and Dr. Popa and his staff does a great job helping me understand (in layman's terms) what the diagnosis/summary of the visits are. Another example, we were a little nervous dropping off our rescue to get spayed 2 months after meeting us, but Dr. Popa's staff sent us a photo of a happy puppy and that put us right at ease. To top it off, Dr. Popa & staff made the CUTEST sea creatures on our pup's dewclaw removal sites. The service we receive feels as if I we are part of his immediate family.

My dog was in the care of Seven Locks Animal Hospital from when we rescued her until we sadly had to lay her to rest last week. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Popa's professionalism and compassion in treating my sweet girl , from beginning to end. His staff is incredibly competent and compassionate as well. They never made me feel like I was being annoying, even though I know I was ! I was trying to think of a downside, but there is none! He is very straightforward in his care. When he feels another opinion is needed, he has no problem saying so. At the moment, I am not ready to adopt another dog, but know that when the time comes, I will be entrusting Dr. Popa and his staff to take as good as care of my new pet, as they did my last !

We love Dr. Popa and his crew. We've taken three dogs there over the last several years and they've always given them great care. We appreciate that Dr. Popa waves us off expensive tests unless their results would change the treatment. The team is patient and compassionate. Our bulldog loves to see them. Just say "Wanna go see Dr. Popa?" and she'll jump and wag and wait by the front door.

Dr Popa is the absolute best. He provided stellar care for our family's dog from his prime, all the way to his twilight years. He was never afraid to make a referral when he didn't know the answer, but more often than not he had the answer. He's now the vet for the newest puppy addition to the family and has fielded all of my anxious, first time puppy owner calls with grace.

Dr. Popa is a most caring veterinarian. He treats each animal with respect and wisely advises the animal owners as to the health of the pet and any suggested procedures or medication they need. Our 2 cats, 15 year old and 9 year old, are very healthy due to his care.

Seven Locks Animal Hospital is hands down the BEST vet in the Maryland! Dr. Popa and his staff are extremely knowledgeable and caring. They truly put every pet first and go above and beyond when treating and caring for your pet. I cannot speak more highly of Dr. Popa and his staff. They are the most amazing group of people and when it comes to your precious pets, these are the people you want looking after them. We have two cats and one recently came down with some stomach issues. Dr. Popa and his staff nursed our beloved cat back to health, while being very open and honest about the situation to help us stay as informed as possible. During an extremely stressful time, it gave us peace of mind that our cat was in the BEST hands.

Dr. Popa and his staff are excellent. They are all knowledgeable and helpful. They seem to really genuinely care about each animal. Even during COVID times, the staff are quick to respond and helpful. Dr. Popa himself gives very personalized care and will explain everything to you after the visit. When we have called the front desk with a question, he personally calls back to ensure the best care.

We have known Dr. Popa over 20 years and cried tears of joy when we found him again, open not far from where we live. He has cared for all of our animals and done wonders. We trust him completely. You cannot do better for vet care.

Dr. Popa has been our veterinarian for more than 6 years. He's an excellent scientist and he recently saved our cat who was suffering from a urinary blockage. I'm not an expert but I understand that it's a condition that needs to be addressed quickly as a good outcome is dependent on a prompt response. Dr. Popa got our cat, Henry, in very quickly for an exam once I'd called and described my cat's symptoms and irregular behavior. Then, Dr. Popa communicated that a procedure needed to be done immediately and he subsequently prioritized us and cancelled a couple "regular" appointments in order to perform the emergency procedure. Immediately after the procedure, Dr. Popa said that he was happy with the way that the procedure had gone. It took a few days for my cat to fully recover, which is normal, and a few weeks out I am glad to say that this is more or less behind us. I say, "more or less", because I will keep an eye out for a recurrence, but I think the odds are in our favor after the procedure and with the new diet Dr. Popa prescribed for our cat which is very effective at maintenance for cats that are predisposed to this condition. Dr. Popa and his staff are truly amazing. I believe that he truly cares about each of his patients and their owners as if they were his own family. He clearly explains everything so that I know that we are always making the best informed decisions when there are different options for care. When we recently moved further away, we tried vets that were more local to us, but could not find one that compared in terms of attention to detail, compassion, or professionalism. And frankly, our pets are always excited to go see him, so that must be saying something, too! As long as he and his practice are there, that is where our pets will go for care and checkups. Without hesitation, I will always recommend him to anyone asking for a vet.

The entire team is super nice, friendly and knowledgeable. The front desk, the technicians, including Dr Horia Popa are fabulous. They are caring, knowledgeable, loving and professional folks with genuine love towards animals. Dr is never pushy, he will only perform tests that he thinks are really needed. Very honest, sincere and understanding guy. Our multipoo dog just went through a surgery and he went above and beyond to make sure he comforts the pet and the owners. I’m so happy Ioved my dog under his care. Very much recommended!!!
