šŸ˜  I've been waiting 6 hours and I'm still waiting to be seen. Literally they have people in the waiting room with empty IVs hanging out of their arms. Crazy. I've never had this experience. One lady took her own IV out and just left. She was here 7 hours and wasn't seen by a doctor. People often mention hospital, room, hours, care, staff, nurse, nurses, time, people, pain,

Made an unplanned visit to the ER due to bronchitis, and not being able to breathe. I was seen immediately- all of the staff were professional, friendly, and extremely attentive. Specifically, Carlo, Autumn and Ally. As many negative reviews that the hospital receives, wanted to highlight an amazing experience. 5 stars across the board. Thank you for making a bad situation as best as possible.

I was here for two nights and felt like I was in prison hospital. The doctors are spread so thin that they miss rounds to check on you and make all decisions off of notes, despite me trying to get messages to them via the nurses. I blame hospital leadership. They have too few doctors to support too many patients. They clearly make very little investment into culture and patient empathy. Here, youā€™re treated like a number or a job, not a person. I finally reached out to patient advocacy to help. Their presence finally got a doctor in front of me, but nothing else. I feel like there was retaliation because I got less pain medicine afterward. I was even refused an IV when I requested one due to low blood pressure. I was told to drink more water, even though the movement exacerbated the painā€¦ pain that was not being managed appropriately. Short of near death or requiring an ambulance, I will drive to another town to find a better care. As a side, the nurses assigned to me were great and did the best they could given the policy (emphasis on ā€œassigned,ā€ others would say, ā€œgive me a minute,ā€ then go about their business pretending they never talked to you. The transporters (to and from scanning machines) made you feel human again. Everyone can take a page out of their book.

Unfortunately, the bad reviews are similar to my own experience. On March 28th, I was there for a extremely painful neck illness. I was there for over 7 hours and wanted to go elsewhere but the pain was too much for more travel. An hour later, I was taken care of. The staff and doctor did apologized for the long wait. Yet the next time, I will go to another facility that will treat my Emergency like an emergency. There are no excuse for people in pain having to wait that long in pain on an Emergency Room at a hospital. I believe the hospital that cannot accommodate for the word "Emergency " should remove that SIGN and call it the "Waiting Room" instead. In this way,p people will know ahead of time they will be waiting waiting waiting...

Absolutely horrid! Went in by ambulance because my 77 year old grandmother was having symptoms of a stroke. Instead of taking her back to be seen, she was made to wait for 4+ hours while people with minor little finger injuries were seen. Basically, come here if you'd like to lay out in the waiting room and suffer. The staff here also have major attitude issues. I've never met ruder hospital staff in my life my gosh.

My mother in law was taken to emergency room by ambulance around 7:30 p.m.on May 14,2022.She is 82 years old.She was experiencing extreme back pain and stomach was hard. She laid in hallway in Triage from time getting there until around 4 a.m. before she was taken into a room in emergency area.My wife was able to go back with around 2:30 a.m. I sat in car in parking lot while all this was happening because only one person is allowed there. As of around 6 a.m. she still had not seen a doctor.A nurse finally gave my mother in law something for her pain when she had been put into the emergency room,room.8 hours of laying in a hallway in extreme pain.I know they are busy in the emergency room but I think this was not acceptable. My wife did find out that they had done a cat scan and blood work before she was let back with her mother which was good but overall I feel the service in Frederick Health emergency room was not what is expected by the hurt and sick people of this area.

This is by far the worst hospital experience I had in my life. My son is in the nicu and I havenā€™t been able to talk to his doctor in days to get a update on my son. They took 2 days after he was born to do his Circumcision. This place is a death trap please keep your kids and love ones away, go to Montgomery county hospitals yeah you have to travel but itā€™s worth Iā€™m telling you from experience!!

Thursday, I had what I thought was a stroke and initially went to our local urgent care, who directed us to the emergency room. They saw me fairly quickly (within 30 minutes), and did an EKG and a Head CT. Both people who did the tests or escorted me to the scan rooms were very polite and friendly. I was asked to go back to the waiting room to wait for the results. It took a few hours for them to call me back again, which is totally fine, they had a lot of patients and seemed busy. I had no issues with any part of my visit at this point. We get called back and I'm told that both results came back fine and it didn't appear there was anything wrong with me. However, they didn't want to be dismissive of the event and were going to give me some information on a clinic for follow-up. I was told I would have to fast before the clinic and couldn't eat anything after midnight. Considering it was between 9-10 PM at this point, I figured I would have more than enough time and agreed to get appointment information about the clinic. Someone returns at 11 PM with the clinic information and says they'll work on getting my discharge paperwork together. I was given the discharge paperwork around 1 AM. I told them I wouldn't be able to go to the clinic Friday, (as I had missed any opportunity to eat anything that day and did not want to go 30+ hours without eating), and asked if there was another day I could do it. She got a panicked look on her face and said that no, if I didn't go tomorrow, it was likely I wouldn't ever be able to go. I said that was fine, I won't go and I'll just see what happens, and then I was told "If you have another stroke, you could die. And if you don't die, you could end up living in a nursing home with a feeding tube coming out of your stomach for the rest of your life." Uh... what happened to it being nothing and this just being a precaution. I felt like she was trying to fearmonger and force me to go to this clinic which made me very suspicious and not want to go. If it was that serious then why did I have 25 minutes of tests and over 8 hours of wait time? It turned out that I was not having a stroke, I was having a Hemiplegic Migraine caused by an adverse reaction to a medication I was taking. When I had my second episode 6 days later, I removed the suspected medication from my regiment and the migraines stopped. They didn't take a family history, and while they did ask me for what conditions I took medications, they didn't ask me the specific medications I took. I feel if they had, they would have known earlier on that it was just a migraine. (The medication in question suppresses my appetite, but can also give you migraines if routinely taken on an empty stomach. I've had migraines my whole life, so I thought I knew what to be on the lookout for. However, I didn't consider this was what was happening because I had no idea Hemiplegic Migraines even existed or that they could mirror stroke symptoms.) The icing on the cake is the discharge paperwork indicates I came via ambulance (which means I'm sure the bill will include a steep ambulance charge), when my sister drove me to the hospital, not the ambulance. I don't know what anyone's titles were so I can't make a blanket statement that X people were good and Y people were not good, but I will say the first few people I interacted with were very kind and pleasant and I felt very taken care of by them. The longer I was there and the people I saw later into my stay... less so. Next time I need emergency care, I'll try my chances at a different hospital.

Iā€™ve lived all across the country, as well as overseas, and this is by far the worst hospital Iā€™ve ever been to in my life. My experience in the ED was unbelievable. Iā€™m understanding of the extended wait time because we are in the middle of a pandemic. What I am not understanding of is the lack of bedside manner from the staff, and general disregard for patients. The next nearest hospital is about 44 minutes away, and after my experience here, I guess Iā€™ll be taking that drive if an emergency arises in the future.

If I could give this hospital no stars I would. The staff should be ashamed of themselves. How dare this hospital not have a better system designed to handle the emergency patients. My son went in around 8pm in an ambulance did not get placed in a room until 1am. Then waited an additional hour before a nurse came in with an attitude. The doctor that came into the room was assisted by another nurse. Only name shown was Bria ( on a board). He was extremely unprofessional did not give my son any medication for pain just two pills. I still donā€™t know what was given to him. Did not give or send any prescription for him. After discovering his finger was broken the doctor only instructed the nurse to ā€œtape his finger and let him goā€ The nurse taped my sons finger up with 1 thin piece of tape. His finger is still crooked no splint was placed on it. My other son questioned the doctor on the way his finger was taped. The doctor continued to be very rude and said itā€™s just a minor fracture.( His finger is completely bent out of shape. )The nurse even questioned the same dr. So now my son is going for a second opinion at another hospital or urgent care where he will be treated like a human being not another number in line. Unbelievable I pray for the best but if there is more to his head injury or his finger please believe I am suing this hospital. This all occurred on 4/ 6/22 if anyone has to be seen best advice Please go to another location.

I have a young man 20 years old Iā€™ve been having chest pain note that heā€™s not trying to go there just for fun he just wanted his pain to stop. We go there at 2:30 in the morning get out at 7:30 not even seen even though we checked in. Other people that came after my son war scene so we finally left. My son went to ask for water but nothing. All they care about is if you have Covid so that they can make money as a Covid patient thatā€™s all they care about because the government gives them more money thatā€™s why they been building this hospital bigger and bigger. I know at the beginning of the pandemic I have hundreds of N 95 mask that I brought to them. If I wouldā€™ve known the service I get there , thereā€™s no way I wouldā€™ve given them the masks. When we met no apologies not even trying to check what happened with him not being checked in or seen. If I could write a zero I would write 0 , if I could write a -10 would write a -10. So if you have an emergency unless youā€™re calling the ambulance not go there.

Thereā€™s amazing staff and not so amazing staff. I am sitting here, in the emergency room. I arrived at 2:00am. Didnā€™t see a doctor until after 8:00am. Seems I need a quick surgery due to start at 12:30pm. But I was told it was moved up to 12:00pm. I heard the nurses at the desk trying to find my doctor. She is missing. I mentioned to my first nurse at 8am that we really need to get me fixed as my husband had to work. The nurse looked at me and said,ā€ you can leave any time you like.ā€ It is now 12:21pm and still in the emergency room. My problem hasnā€™t self resolved so I guess Iā€™m here forever.

They seem to work their hardest here to kill people. My mother had a colectomy here and while the surgeon was great the aftercare was a crime. My mother was sent home from the hospital with minimal instructions before regaining bowel functions. After getting home my mom was sick so she tried calling in 10x to speak to her ā€œteamā€ but no one called her back until 5 days later and just told her to move around more. Well that night after the call she had a stroke and is currently at another hospital getting competent care. To whoever the physician is that ordered discharge before she regain bowel functioning (and falsely documented she did which is Medicaid fraud) , you are incompetent and to whoever the nurse that was charged with her aftercare is, you are also incompetent. Neither of you should be allowed to help patients without a disclaimer sharing your shortcomings.

After waiting in the ER for over 5 hours with a bleeding gash on her head, my sister was not seen by any health professionals and when asked how much longer she was given no answers. I understand the ER is busy, but not seeing a patient that is actively gushing blood from their head is a absolute joke. FMH ER department needs some serious help, and can hopefully work on finding some compassion for their patients that they are supposed to be ā€œhelpingā€. Would never recommend coming here for any health problem. 0/10

This is the most unprofessional hospital I have ever been to. The wait time to be seen is ridiculously slow only to find out that there is a great chance that they don't have what you need or provide the service that you need without an even longer wait time. And I do mean an excessive wait time, like 3-4 hours wait time and 5 more hours trying to get the care that you need. Frederick doesn't have a 24hour urgent care but definitely needs to look into getting one. Some nurses are disrespectful and treat you like an inconvenience because you're there. This hospital needs to get it together. If something happens to me PLEASE don't send me here!!!!

Mailings from Frederick Health are, at best, annoying at, at worst, triggering. Iā€™ve *repeatedly* asked to be removed from their mailing list, but they just canā€™t stop sending me cancer-related information. My experiences with breast cancer diagnosis and biopsy at Frederick Health were absolutely *terrible* at every step of the way. I transferred to Johns Hopkins as quickly as possible, where my care was (and continues to be) truly flawless. And ā€œCancer Survivors Day?ā€ Yeah, thatā€™s pretty much every day.

The emergency room at this hospital is terrible. I went for some stitches for an open wound, and I never saw a doctor. I got triaged to the end of the line and sat in the waiting room with an open head wound for 2 hours before being taken back to a room. Then I sat waiting for another hour before I told them I was leaving unless treatment was forthcoming. Only then did a PA appear, complaining of over-work. Really? The ER was nearly empty. Nurses were sitting around staring at computer screens and looking bored like they were shooting a training video for passive/aggressive behavior. They weren't about to lift a finger unless directed to do so. I suggest people only go to this ER if they are near death, and there are no other options.

Went to the ER there last November and people were waiting 13 plus hours to get seen by a doctor. Many people walked out after sitting in the waiting room for 5 plus hours. Then, in April, my 91-year-old aunt was brought in via ambulance because she was not alert and half of her face was sagging. The attending in the ER told me she probably had pneumonia. It wasn't until almost 8 hours later that a doctor from the ICU came to check her before moving her to a bed upstairs. It was that doctor who realized that my aunt had a stroke and didn't get the treatment she needed in order to recover. My aunt died 10 days later because the doctors there are so completely incompetent.

Waited 3 hours for a room and about 45 minutes after that to see a Doctor. Very reasonable wait time in my opinion. The staff was great. The doctor and the nurses listened, assessed, and helped take care of what was going on. Thank you, Frederick Health!

My grandmother had a fall at her nursing home. She was taken to Frederick ER to rule out a fracture. She had X-rays done and was safely able to go back to her nursing home within a few hours. All nursing staff was kind and easy to talk to. Whenever I called to check in I had to wait a few minutes to get the nurse. Compared to past experiences with Medstar montgomery general hospital where we waited HOURS to be seen by a doctor and this was a 5 star experience! Thank you!

I recently went to Frederick Health Hospital for abdominal pain and was diagnosed with gallstones. The emergency room staff and radiology department were fantastic! I was referred to Dr. Zappas who later operated on me about 3 weeks later. I was very impressed that he was able to view my record and imaging from my ER visit. When I had my surgery everyone was wonderful from the nurses to anesthesia, and even the aide who took me out to my car. Iā€™ll add that I also delivered both my kids here and the family center was the best! This hospital is a gem in Frederick and I wish all the hospital staff all the best as they try to maintain their resilience during this horrible pandemic that has pushed them to their limits.

ER wait times are RIDICULOUS! Went in at 4:45am with severe pressure on my neck and throat and was not breathing well. I have no history of breathing issues but have had some heart issues. At 7:09am, I remained still not seen in a nearly empty waiting room. I finally left to go to an Urgent Care that opened at 8am. Unfortunately, you better think 1000x before going to Frederick Health hospital. Try any other resource because they are poorly managed and really donā€™t care. They should know their lack of adequate healthcare services gives them a bad reputation in the community and we need another hospital (new) so maybe with some competition, the community can get the care they need and pay for.

Neglectful staff. I was in the behavioral health unit twice. The psych staff was very helpful, except for Albert. He refused to give me necessary medications ordered by the doctor. He tried to tell me certain medications were not ordered for the reason I asked for them. I am also a nurse, and I know exactly what the medication is for. That is nursing 101, especially being a psych nurse. This is neglectful. He left me throwing up with a 10/10 migraine for two days because he refused to give me my necessary medication. He refused to let me speak to the charge nurse, or doctor. I finally got the charge nurse from another nice nurse, she got me my medication within 5 minutes. I will be reporting Albert. On my third ER admission in two weeks (ridiculous, they do not treat you properly- hence why I had to return 3 times), the physician dismissed me, his name is Paul Freeman. Told me not to come here for suicidal thoughts and hallucinations. I intended to kill myself, and he told me not to bother coming here. To go to the maryland mental health association... which is not 24 hours. The nurse working with him, threw my patient belongings at my feet when it was time for me to discharge. Unacceptable. I will also be reporting them. On behalf of my friend I met in the behavioral health unit. She clearly is in a psychotic episode with schizophrenia. She called me from the psych unit frantic and asking for help, saying she has no one to help her when she leaves. The unit discharged her way before she was ready. I had no way to contact her as she had no phone, and I have no clue where they discharged her. I got a phone call from Sinai hospital saying she was located there. Shocker, she ended up back in the hospital. I am glad she got back somewhere, I hope to god this hospital takes better care of her. I will NEVER go back here for medical attention, both physical and mental.

I wanted to share my experience today. I have a 3 year old little boy who thought it was hilarious to stick a plastic bead up his nose. From the beginning, I was treated with respect and warmth. Given that heā€™s my oldest and this is my first time in the ER with my child, the staff was so incredibly helpful. They made me feel safe but more importantly, they made my little boy feel safe. Thank you for your help, patience, and consideration. The pediatrics team is the best and I canā€™t begin to show my gratitude. I hope this review move the littlest needle.

My senior citizen relative was sent by ambulance and arrived at 9:30AM with severe vomiting. We stayed in the ER Triage area until 2:00PM. In triage your only allowed 1 visitor at a time. Very limited communication just a lot of waiting. My senior was in the hospital for the same issue less than 24 ago. Warned them. Well back for a second day and still the same issue. More needs to be done to raise the standard of care. In the meantime, I will be taking our familyā€™s emergency needs to another ER.

Spent 31 nights here in 2023 for two major surgeries, 22 after the first one and 9 after the second one. The doctors are amazing and the nurses even better. Nice rooms, effective pain management, prompt help with even minor issues. They treat you as a human being, not a number, and prevent lots of issues you didn't even know to worry about. My family were treated with above and beyond kindness, too.

Worst hospital! Go to Carroll County instead. I waited 6 hours in the ER with a ruptured appendix just to get an IV and another 6 before admitted to surgery. After surgery, I have tried to set up a payment plan several times and they continuously harass me to pay the full $4,000. Their systems are antiquated and the service is poor.

I was very disoriented when I arrived in the ER, and I feel as if I was not taken seriously because of it. I had a neurological event that scared me very badly, but was left in a room alone for hours before seeing a doctor (actually a PA). It was very cold, and when I asked for a blanket, I was told, ā€œsure!ā€ and hours went by with no one even entering the room. I also had to ask for water repeatedly over the course of hours (after being cleared for water), and even unhooked my many wires attached to me to see if there was anyone near by who could help me find some water. I was there for 6.5 hours and was given water 30 minutes before I was discharged. Matt Mullinix was the PA who came to talk to me. He was noticeably annoyed that I had fallen asleep, despite it being 5:30am after having some kind of neurological issue when he finally showed up. He was condescending and spoke to me as if I was less than he is, and he had no poker face when he clearly thought I was wasting his time. Iā€™ve dealt with vertigo for years, and this man looked at me and tried to explain that vertigo and dizziness were not the same thing, as if I just said the word to sound smart. I did not get any answers, but I wouldnā€™t expect many when they did the bare minimum in trying to figure out what was wrong. I left the hospital feeling defeated, stupid (because I was treated as such), and not knowing anything about what happened. Honestly, if literally anyone had shown an ounce of compassion, the lack of answers wouldnā€™t be so frustrating. I was spoken down to so strongly that I started to doubt the severity of my emergency until my husband reminded me just how scary it all was. I pray that the next time I have an emergency, I am far closer to a competent ER that takes me seriously.

I sat in the waiting room for three hours in pain. When I finally went back the staff was great, especially the nurse. However, the amount of money charged for a 5 to 6 minute consultation from the doctor was very upsetting.

I have been in the hospital since 10:54pm, it is 6:02am now. I came through the ER because the tip of my pinky finger was smashed and due to the magnitude of the injury, my finger is swollen and is taking a black color. Additionally, i feel my hand getting numb. An xray was taken at 1am and until now I am the only patient left out of all the patients that came in during the night. Just because I am strong about my pain doesnā€™t mean it doesnā€™t hurt, it hurts a lot! I just want to know if everything is fine with my finger or if there is any issue with the circulation due that I canā€™t feel my finger. Respect towards a patientā€™s pain needs to be learned. I have children at home and I seriously feel that thereā€™s is a lack of empathy towards the patients. When I was finally taken in, I was taken with bad attitude and indifference.

If I could iā€™d give this hospital a 0 out of 5. Iā€™m disappointed and upset with the way my mom was treated yesterday. My mom felt like she was having a miscarriage and when we got there they put her in a tiny room with a chair this room was right in front of the nurses and their desks and computers. There were multiple times where my mom would start crying and moaning in pain and all the nurses would do is stare. My mom bleed through and got some blood on the chair and even the floor and no one did anything. At some point she got too loud bc of how bad the pain was and the nurses did absolutely nothing. I honestly feel like they got annoyed bc after being there for 2-3 hours a nurse finally came to her but only to move her far away from them and into a hall where it was no one but my mom and I. We ended up walking our after being there for 3-4 hours. I had to go into work later on and my heart ache and I was so upset listening to my mom sob and moan in pain and bleed to the point where the room smelt like blood and I was feeling nauseous and anxious while the nurses were outside our room on their computers or just chit chatting amongst themselves. I shouldā€™ve said something but theyā€™re nurses the least they couldā€™ve done is gave her something for the pain. We will not be coming back again and I donā€™t recommend coming to this hospital unless youā€™re dying bc it seems like thatā€™s the only way youā€™ll get there attention. As my mom and I waited to get picked up she said ā€œpeople are evilā€ and I agree but all my mom and I can do is pray and hope God touches theyā€™re heart because I assure you they wouldnā€™t like a family member to be treated the way we were. Think twice before coming to this hospital.

Wonderful ER! people in the reviews donā€™t seem to realize the ER is not first come first serve! It is based off of how critical your condition is. Some stuff can be seen by primary care or urgent careā€¦.. Back pain is not more important than someone who is having a heart attack or no pulse! They treated my loved one with grace and expertise. Would recommend.

Took my son here last month to the emergency. The front desk receptionist/security were quick to check me in. The pediatric center nurses and doctors were helpful and very polite. My experience here was positive and I think itā€™s important to share a good review for others because people usually only review the negative experience.

I had a great experience here at the ER. I had chest pains and was seen right away. The clinical staff was professional and very helpful. I was given every test to rule out an emergency for my heart. They actually found something else and I am very grateful they did. I've been given a referral to take care of it right away. Its hard to imagine what these folks go through on a daily basis and how many patients they see in the Emergency room. I waited three days before I went because I used to always think the ER is rushed and wondered if they really care about the patients, the reality is of course they do that's why they are there. They have the equipment there needed to save your life on a whim. Imagine the stress they go through. Thank you for all of your hard work.

Very rude nurse in er, waited for about 5 hours for my family member to be seen for a very lengthy seizure. Dr never came in til about 30 minutes before we left ( which rude nurse told us he would be in very shortly once she came to the room), seen both Dr and nurse sitting at desk alot. It would be different if the place was packed however anyone who knows seizure know that at anytime it could be a person's last! They only did blood work and nothing else the whole time he was there. Sent him home right after doctor finally came in looked at him and said well I don't see anything and sent him home. This isn't the first time treated as if my family member doesn't matter. Frederick health doesn't have the values it needs. Especially when they make sure they charge for every thing they can. Very sad world we live in.

I literally cannot say enough about this hospital. I went to the ER and the staff was nothing but kind, efficient, and made me feel so at ease. They treated me like I was a family member going to the hospital, was extremely kind and caring, and walked me through a lot of things happening. Iā€™m happy to know that a great group of medical professionals is apart of my community. Huge thank you to Brittany, Justin, and Dr. Pickler.

If I could rate this hospital, especially the ER, with a zero I would. The lack of professionalism and empathy of the nurses was beyond comprehension. They ignored and neglected my mother. To make matters worse, they lied about the fact that my mother asked for her medications - which they failed to provide on two of the five days that she was hospitalized. I overhead the nurses making fun of multiple patients, and one nurse actually said my mother didn't need her medications. It was literally beyond belief. I will never take anyone to Frederic Memorial Hospital ever again. Please consider using a different hospital because the level of care is so poor that nobody deserves such mistreatment.

Frederick Health recently provided excellent care for for my dear loved one experiencing a health emergency. The Emergency Department and Operating Staff were fantastic. As was the Surgeon. The procedure was explained in great detail. The Nursing care provided afterwards put my mind at ease and allowed me the ability to go home to get some much needed sleep. Thank you Frederick Health Hospital!

This is my third time in two weeks with family and you have to be dead to get help!!!! The registration lady had no compassion and was very abrupt. They sent my person home with triple digit blood pressures. You will sit in the waiting room for so many hours its ridiculous. You often leave with no answers and end up back again. All the money spent in remodeling and upgrading and for what? It hasn't helped the kind of care that you receive. Frederick needs a new hospital that actually cares.

I want to come here and speak about the experience my mom has been having. My moms cousin just gave birth a couple days ago, but she doesnt want the babies and wants to put them up for adoption and my mom wants to adopt them. She was supposed to be released already but the hospital doesnt want to let her go because they keep interviewing her trying to get information since they say my mom is trying to take the babies from my mom. mind you my cousin doesnt speak very well and she cant write or read. They called cps and the social workers is asking my cousin about my moms legal status here in the US. and saying false acussaccion about my mom. they have taken away my moms bracelets and they wont allow her to go see my cousin or call her.

First of all these idiots ran a red light in front of the hospitalā€¦ smh. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!! I almost go T boned in the front of the hospital. I thought this was a safe place? These impatient idiots couldnā€™t wait 3 seconds, I had to block them from the entrance until they stopped honking turned off their lights. Not a very good experience.

I would give zero if I could. This hospital is neglectful and uncaring. Little known fact ..this hospital is bleeding money internally. No other hospital will combine or purchase Frederick Health Hospital due to its high debt. Building a parking garage, while reducing ER beds is really smart thinking...um not. Also, don't get caught in the trap of Frederick Health providers outside the hospital. There is always conflicting information. No one seems to really know the basics of Standard of Care. A new article says ER wait times as of November 2023 are 30 minutes. That is impossible when all beds in the ER are full. They should be advising when beds are full and divert patients to other facilities ie Urgent Care Centers or hospitals. I waited over 10 hours during a 2 day period to be seen in ER. I had an elevated blood pressure that was not checked after triage. I finally called U.N.I Urgent care literally a walk from Frederick Health Hospital. I was seen immediately. Took an hour and 20 minutes to receive great care. Food for thought...if you can go to Urgent Care or hospitals in Germantown, do so. Frederick Health Hospital is on track to be involved in an major medical malpractice case with current policies, procedures, and uncaring staff.

I was there from 12-17-2021 until 12-31-2021 I had the best service and everyone there was so great to me and the staff were great I had Covid Pneumonia and since I am one of the most famous people in Frederick Maryland I wouldn't be alive if these people weren't here for me. I will miss the nurses and the doctors there the 4th floor staff are the best staff the other patients was talking to me in the ER part and said I am the coolest male on planet earth.

I was not pleased with the care given to me at this facility. I live out of state and am up here for work. I was sent to ER from Med Express over dehydration and possible other major issues from severe diarrhea x2 days. Severe meaning 9 to 10 times in an hour. I was in the er room for almost 2 hours before a nurse came in to place an IV. It was another hour before I was given any fluids. Lab came in for a second time and drew another vial of blood. When I asked what it was for, noone could answer me. On hour number 4, the nurse returned to tell me that when my HCG results came back in a while they could get me in for a CT. I was like "What?!" I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago, and informed the triage nurse when I was talking to him. Apparently they do not read patient charts. I was moved to another room. Once there, i asked the nurse for some Tylenol for my head ache. She brought it to me almost immediately. As I was taking that, they came and got me for my CT. I was drinking the water. Not sipping. It was the first time I'd been able to drink more than a sip at a time. While I wanted to keep it to finish it, it was taken from me so they could take me to CT. I expressed my enjoyment of being able to drink and how much I wanted more. I figured she would have left the rest sitting there for me when I got back. On the way back to my room, I had to stop to go to the bathroom. The guy pushing my bed back, stopped at the closest bathroom, I went in, did my business and walked out, my bed and the guy was gone. That's when I realized I was NOT where I thought I was and was lost. I walked around and could not find the number to my room. I legit asked 4 nurses who was standing staring at me where bed 25 was. They ignored me. I repeated myself 3 times and said "I'm lost. Where is bed 25?!" My PA came around the corner, I explained what happened and he said to go on up the hall and it would be on the left. I made it back to my bed. As I laid there in pain from the cramps and a headache I had a thirst like I had been in the desert for 3 days. I look around and that water I was enjoying so much earlier was nowhere to be found. There was noone around for me to ask where I could get a drink. I ended up having to walk outside to my car to get money for a vending machine to get me a water. When I got back to my bed, the nurse came in about 15 minutes after and took my vitals. I asked for some fluids, if the provider would allow since I knew I was dehydrated and the 1 bag of fluids I had in me, I had already expelled probably half of it by this point. I was rejected. The provider came in, went over scan results, told me to take Immodium and drink fluids and released me. With no stores being open at 12:30 am on a Sunday morning, I had to ask for some before I left the hospital. None was offered without asking. I did not feel like I should have been released considering I was in just as bad of shape when I left as when I went in. But at that point I was fed up and just went with it. So today, I have been on the phone with the ER nurses and pharmacy trying to figure out what will help me to get this stopped without having to endure another 5.5 to 6 hour ER trip that apparently to them, isn't necessary.

Had out patient surgery for fistula. From start to finish everything went well. Saff was very caring and attentive. All my questions and concerns were answered in terms easy for me to understand. Would have no problem using this facility in future.

On friday I had a routine colonoscopy performed at a different location. Significant complications developed when a lot of stomach fluid moved into my left lung. My oxygen levels dropped dangerously low and i was having a lot of trouble breathing so they had me taken to Frederick Health by ambulance immediately. From the ER, to ICU, to general hospital the nurses where top notch. The doctors and others (eg RCP) that supported me were also great. I was put on a ventilator, which probably saved my life. That first night was a living nightmare but the ICU nurses did everything they could to keep me comfortable. I am very grateful for the care i received at Frederick Health.

Had a visit to Frederick Health on Saturday for my boyfriends father who had elevated blood sugar. I was surprised how quickly we were registered in and back in the ER as I have heard horror stories and experience them myself. Back in the ER, Heather was assigned to our room, 55, what a breath of fresh air, calming, informative, knowledgable and skilled she was. She explained and took us through every step in process of the care. We were there at least 7 hours and even once discharged we had to stay an additonal 1.5 hours to receive and for Heather to teach me how to administer medication. Heather was kind enough to check on us to see if we wanted water or some sandwiches, which was most appreciated and so unexpected. FHH, you have a gem on your hands, I hope if you have to go to the ER, Heather is who you get. Simply amazing!

Very unprofessional. Nurses act like you are bothering. I was taken for triage then put in a chair by the desks with 3 other patients. The provider came and asked each and every one of us what was wrong. HIPPA violation!!! I was sent back to the waiting area where the nurse came and medicated me in front of other patients. Never coming here again

I waited for hours in waiting area only to be misdiagnosed with a bad cold. When I went and got a second opinion at a much better hospital, I was told that I had a sinusitis and was prescribed the proper medication. This hospital seemed understaffed, inexperienced and unhelpful. Please do better. They also charged me hundreds of dollars in medical bills for not doing anything but waste my time. Lesson learned. I will never patronize this hospital again. Extremely disappointing.

Absolutely unacceptable to be waiting for 8 hrs as a cardiac patient. Never in my life have I had to wait that long to be seen. Triage is important, but to make people wait an entire business day is insanity. Nurses were calling patients who were already in the back. The disorganization was astounding, and it wasn't nearly as busy as it has been in the past. It took 40min just for a catheter removal and discharge instructions (didn't even get the ECG print out and were afraid to ask, in case that took another 40min). Several patients were understandably upset and asked to have their catheters removed so they could leave. I feel for the staff, as they seem like they're running thin; management has dropped the ball. It took us 2hrs just to get a blanket because they were out at reception.

I have someone in the psych ward. The nurses were decent. They did there job over the phone. Not with the best attitude always but they did it. Shirley was helpful. The nurses station on the other hand wouldnt really let me explain but they are in a rush I guess. I just felt a little belittled sometimes

After seeing only three star reviews I was concerned about taking my mom here. But, at the end it all worked out well. With rising covid cases we had to wait 10 hours before she was given a room. The hospital was full and is full even from a week ago. Theres just nothing anyone can do about it. People getting covid and go to ER and thats that. My mom was treated for covid and I have to say the staff was friendly and caring. They got my mom up and running again after she was in a bad shape. I am thankful to all the doctors and nurses and staff at the hospital who sacrifices every day in and out by treating patients like my mother. Thank you all for what you do and for giving me my mother back. God Bless You All!

Think I caught them on a strangely empty morning so it was a breeze! I only sat for a few minutes before going to triage and every RN, PA, tech, etc that I met over my stay was very courteous and helpful. Iā€™m extremely squeamish with needles but they had my blood drawn n saline lock put it before I even noticed! It could have been an extremely stressful time considering weā€™re still deep in the pandemic but even my perfect blood pressure readings reflected how smoothly everything went. For obvious reasons I hope I donā€™t have to go back anytime soon but I wonā€™t be too upset if I do!

I gave birth to my first baby in this hospital and I have to say the nurses and doctors here were amazing and really helpful! I had a great experience but on top of that, 3 weeks later I ended up here again. They found out I needed surgery and let me tell you I could not be happier I came here! The ER is a bit slow because they are always really busy and donā€™t have enough people working there but the fact that everyone was so caring and went above and beyond to help me out and make me more comfortable honestly makes me forget about the rest! Thank you so so much for everything you all have done for me while Iā€™ve been there both times! You are all amazing peoples and great professionals!

My 2 year old son has a heart condition and we have had two emergency situations where we took our son to Frederick memorial. Both times we took him the staff was amazing! Most recently when I took my son and the security guard got me a wheel chair to help take my son in and all of his blankets, bears, and comfort items. I let the lady at the check in in the emergency room know my son has CHD and all his symptoms and he needed to be seen ASAP. She was very kind to me and my son who was scared to get his name band on. We only had to sit in the emergency room for about 10 minutes were it wasnā€™t crowded at all, a volunteer was walking around with blankets, stuffed animals and stress balls- asking people if they needed anything and the check in lady came to check on us to let us know pediatrics was coming to get us. Once we got upstairs in pediatrics the nurses and doctor were very nice and professional! They made us feel comfortable and made sure my son was getting amazing care. I appreciate the care my son received in the pediatrics department.

I came here late Thursday night with abdominal pain. Although I had to wait 6 hours for a room to open up, I am highly impressed and happy with my experience. They were able to diagnose me, get me medicine to help with the pain and get me into surgery in little time. I was very impressed with how fast everything moved once I finally got into a room. The experience I had with the doctors, nurses, and surgeons was the one of the best experiences Iā€™ve had with hospital staff. Everyone was so helpful and kind. I felt very comfortable and taken care of. Thank you for all of your help.

Huge shoutout to Tiffany and Shayna from labor and delivery. Really donā€™t know what I wouldā€™ve done without them. They made me feel so comfortable , welcomed , and they were so genuine. Also shoutout to Karen from the family center side , she is the nurse I needed after having my son. She answered any questions I had , made my newborn son and I feel so welcomed , and was just there for us whenever needed.. Forever grateful for all three of these ladies!!

Dr.Nokuri, Ms.Christina (RN) and Ms.Lindsay (Ultrasound Tech) were all amazing. They were kind and helped figure out what was wrong with me efficiently. They listened to all my concerns. They all deserve 5 stars. On the other hand, the wait times are still pretty long and i feel like with all the renovations that would have changed. I was there for around 5 hours. Seen after 30 minutes of being checked in but I got lucky. There were nurses in the adult unit sitting there chatting while people were waiting to be cared for. It was kinda unsettling. There was people in the adult unit who were sitting for hours waiting. The security on the night shift was very cocky and didnā€™t look like they wanted to do their job. Overall, the hospitality of the staff i received cared from has improved since my last visit.

The emergency department is a joke. My husband was taken to FHH for a suspected heart attack. The staff were rude and unresponsive. The wait times are ridiculous. Then we were sent a huge bill for ā€œhospital expensesā€ that were not covered by our insurance. Which is really funny because I struggled to get a cup of water for him from the staff after he had been sitting for hours with no fluids. I guess dehydration is good for you when youā€™re ill.
