Freaking amazing. A wonderful experience. We watched silently the honor guard March back and forth guarding the Tomb of the Unknown soldier. We also got to witness the changing of the guards. Such a great experience. Our school was honored to place a wreath for the tomb. I would suggest this to anyone who visits Washington D.C.

Title: A Moving Tribute to Our Heroes Visiting the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery was an unforgettable experience. The solemnity and reverence of the changing of the guards left me in awe, standing on hallowed ground where our national heroes rest. The Arlington Cemetery Shuttle tour made it easy to pay my respects, and this stop was undoubtedly the highlight. The ceremony was somber, powerful, and deeply respectful. It's a reminder of the sacrifices made by those who gave their all for our country. I encourage others to experience this moving tribute at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It's a profound testament to the pride and honor of our nation. If you have the opportunity, witness this powerful tribute to our heroes.

Such an awesome inspiration! And today the Old Guard Soldiers were both female that was great to see!! It's worth your time to go, and the Old Guard and the military personnel we have lost, deserve the honor.

This is a wonderful demonstration of our military serving with great honor. Upon entering the cemetery you get a feeling of all the sacrifice our men & women have made throughout our history. There are over 400,000 laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery. When you see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown you are witnessing the dedication and discipline of these few special men & women. It stirs the heart & soul.

It was an experience that you can't watch on YouTube, the changing of the guard was something that got me speechless. These men work so hard to be able to get the chance to guard the tomb of the Unknown Soldier... their dedication was shown throughout the entire journey of walking to Mr. Lee's house, seeing the torch and the magnificent view of D.C from the hills. It truly was an experience that I will never forget. - the staff were nice - it does cost money to get a tour - make sure to bring comfortable shoes because it is a lot of walking if your not taking the tour.

Traveled there on a St. Louis Honor Flight with my Father, Korean War Veteran. Along with 60 other Vets 2 from WW II, 12 from the Korean War, and 46 Vietnam War. It was one of, if not, the most, incredible day of my life. Being a Vet myself and seeing the outpouring of support moved me to tears. Especially the group of high school students asking questions about how old he was when he was drafted. Hearing he was 17 had many identifying with him saying I can't imagine I'm 17 right now, having to leave home and go to another country to even serve in the military let alone be sent off to war there. They were in disbelief and shock. To see them really listening and hanging on his words was indescribably emotional. It wasn't just a thank you for your service but real questions. My Dad said he felt like royalty with the treatment he and the other Vets received that day. If you have a veteran in your family. I urge you to sign them up for this, and if you can volunteer, donate to this cause,do it. It's one so worth your time and money to support it. To see hundreds of people all donating their time to be everywhere we went to be there for these Vets truly restored my faith in people. I can't thank you all enough for everything you did for my father and the other Vets. God bless you all!

Always amazed when I go there. The tomb of the unknown such a sacred place. Great views from the mansion. Worth the hike. Look up one or two of the military folks buried there. Watching the guard change is fascinating.

There are hardly words to describe the beauty and importance of Arlington. Watching the guards at the tomb of the unknown soldier is very solem and moving. If you're a history nerd like me, it's great fun to try to locate your heroes, but it can be daunting and sometimes impossible to locate them. You could easily spend an entire day here and not see everything. No trip to DC would be complete without a visit.

Great experience here at Arlington National Cemetery. They have a museum like area at the entrance where you get checked prior to entering and then you can look around and proceed to see the actual Cemetery. Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is the most popular destination and it was worth it. It is sad but definitely worth the experience. Usually it's 3$ to park and free entry to Arlington but we went on Christmas day so it was free to park on that day.

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington is a place of profound reverence and honor, a testament to the bravery and sacrifice of the men and women who have served our country. As an American, visiting the Tomb was a deeply moving experience that filled me with pride and gratitude. The immaculately maintained memorial stands as a symbol of the countless heroes who have given their lives for our freedom and the ideals that we hold dear. The precision and discipline displayed by the soldiers who guard the Tomb is a reflection of the dedication and commitment of our armed forces. As I stood in silence, watching the Changing of the Guard ceremony, I was struck by the solemnity and reverence of the moment. The reverence and honor displayed by the guards were a reminder of the incredible sacrifice made by those who serve and have served our country. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is not only a memorial but also a powerful symbol of the unity and strength of our nation. For anyone who wants to pay their respects to our country's fallen heroes, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is an absolute must-see. It is a testament to the courage and sacrifice of our armed forces and a powerful reminder of the values that make our country great.

It is a true spiritual experience to visit this place. Get there at the top of the hour to see either The changing of the guard, or the presentation of a wreath by a reverend old veteran. A very Great patriotic experience. A healthy patriotism with all paying their respects without any fiery politics, just a pure love for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we can be free of Nazis and other nightmarish creeps that would have ruled us all. This site is pretty deep in the park, and I would recommend taking the tram if you do not have plenty of time to walk. Make sure you walk around the back where you will see a beautiful amphitheatre made of marble. Pay attention to the sounds of the birds, the patterning of rain, the slow and deliberate movements of the guard as he or she stands through rain or shine. One of these good American heroes has stood guard over these interments ever since 1948, without ceasing. It was free to get into the park. It was easy to park here, and it cost us about $10 to park.

Absolutely amazing. Truly a remarkable experience. The guards change out every 30 minutes so you have a good chance to see it. Just watch your time at the end of the day as the tram back to the main entrance ends a 4pm but the grounds are open until 5pm

Visit this place. Read about the regimen that has sworn to protect this tomb - 24/7 - 365. Read about the standard they have sworn to uphold. Understand the duty and respect they with every step. Take your kids here. Put down your phone and remember what honor truly looks like.

As mentioned in previous reviews, this is something that really is special experienced in person rather than watching a video online. It seems to draw some strong emotions of respect and honor from everybody there. I am amazed at the discipline that the soldiers have for this special post. Even years after visiting here, I remember watching as they took every step in unison and followed orders exactly. It is quite the spectacle to behold.

I am very happy that I got to visit this landmark. It is very humbling to see the hallowed grounds and to experience the changing of the guards. The men and women who stand there every day out of respect and reverence for the soldiers who gave their lives are doing an amazing thing.

I finally had the privilege and opportunity to visit the Arlington Cemetery and got to witness the changing of the guard. There's a lot to see and a lot of ground to cover. I suggest arriving early to fully appreciate it all. And for those who choose, there is a guided tour option with the ability to get on and off at any key points. A definite must visit if you're in the area. There was no entrance fee, but it is $3/h for parking.

I had just buried my father there 2 days before. So, I took the family around to revisit this hallowed ground that I hadn't seen in many years. It was so beautiful. The grounds were swarming with war vets from Honor Flight from all over the country. I was well surrounded by so many who made the sacrifice. It was magestic, and peaceful. The attendants were so helpful, kind and welcoming. Please be mindful to not be on your phones, taking flash photography and to NOT TALK. The soldiers reserve the right to call you out in front of everyone and loudly. Have respect and reverence for where you are.

We took the Arlington shuttle tour, it was very interesting and informative about the National Cemetery. The tomb of the unknown was moving and inspiring. We saw the changing of the guard, which is a powerful ceremony and a testament to our military and the debt we owe to all of the men and women who choose and have chosen to put themselves in harms way for our freedom.

Hands down one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. It was breathtaking. If you go at the top of the hour you will see them perform their rifle and uniform inspections. It was unbelievable.

We had a very different experience when we visited this place in Arlington. We took metro from Washington DC which stops near the visitor center gate. There is change of guard ceremony which is a different experience to watch. There is a room filled with history on the place and the tomb.

Very cool place to see, and learn about how the unidentified soldiers who were lost in battle were honored by not just the U.S. but other countries like France and China as well. You can see the soldier on guard at the tomb and witness the changing of the guard ceremony.

Placed up on the hill in Arlington National Cemetery quite the view of the Lincoln memorial, US Capital, Washington monument. The tomb is a very solemn experience with great respect and a reminder of life sacrificed for our freedom. To see the non stop round the clock guard keep watch and the exchange of the next guard 💂💂 is quite the experience to witness. I will never forget what my experience there.

A place of such great sadness. Yet the wave of history that comes with the handling of history is remarkable. May everyone who visits recognize the efforts of those who watch over the fallen Unowns. It was refreshing to see young kids show such respect for this place. A must see.

The Army troops did an amazing job on the ceremony. This is truly an emotional, reverent moment t that every American should experience. The view is amazing, and the facilities are breathtaking. As a Navy vet, you certainly feel a sense of pride and dignity for our fallen brothers in arms.

Breathtaking and awe-inspiring to say the least. The feeling of walking hallowed and sacred ground does not get lost on you. Very humbling and makes you realize the sacrifices made for our freedom, should never be taken for granted, and all those who are eternally resting in that place of honor, should never be forgotten.

These are sacred grounds and the personnel on guard are professionals. You can see on the pavement how it's worn over time by the many guards that have stood watch. It's overall a great place to walk too if your also looking for a little bit of exercise.

Just really quiet, serious and beautifully respectful place to be. 25 minute walk from the visitors center or at to take a tour. You can get off and on at any of the stops all day. Trolley is on about a 20 minute schedule. There is a public bathroom in the basement at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Of you are going to visit, I highly recommend going on the train. They give you a guarded tour of the cemetary and point out interesting markers. They let you get off a couple times to take photos, including plenty of time to watch the changing of the guards. Keep in mind the last ride for the day is at 4pm.

One of the most significant experiences I’ve encountered. The walk to and from allows you to pray over the thousands of tombstones. The changing of the guard and the changing of the wreath was enough to bring this military momma to tears.

What a beautiful tomb with an amphitheatre out front. The changing of the guard happens every hour at the top of the hour during the off-season (winter) and every half hour during the peak months. Would recommend watching the changing of the guard since it is incredibly well-done

This was a very reverent and inspiring part of our trip to DC! What an honor it was to witness the changing of the guard and feel the greatest respect for those who make the ultimate sacrifice to defend and protect our freedom!! Most highly recommended!

Truly is an honor to be able to be in presence of this. The training, qualifications, testing, managing physical appearance and living on site is def shown in the Sentinels. This is so humbling. 21 steps, 21 count bc 21 gun is the most honorable send off. Changing odds the guard is every hour/top of the hour Bell will ring, please know to stand up when it does.

  • 5/5 Robyn J. 6 months ago on Google
The respect is amazing. We watched the changing of the guard twice. It felt like an honor to be able to witness it in person.

Beautiful growns with a humbling feeling. As acres of land is covered with grave stones, it gives you a deep respect for those that have given their lives for our country. The changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is breath taking!

👍👍 While these soldiers fought and died under the Confederate States Flag, their sons and grandsons fought and died in World War I and II. Today their descendants, men and women, fight and die for the United States of America as proud Americans. Show some respect.
