Antonio is an ex miner and the owner of this agency. I signed up at Casablanca hostel and was the only person for the day. Antonio did the tour just for me and it was unforgettable. He is very knowledgable and attentive and very funny. Ready to answer any sort of question. I feel like his company deserves more tourists. Most people go with larger companies with good reputation. I strongly recommend booking with Potochij Tours and support local guy who knows the workers inside the mine.

Great tour with Antonio - ex miner ( 3 generations in his family worked in the mine). The tour had a very competitive price (80 BOB per person)! We felt very safe with Antonio who constantly kept checking on us. He also made everyone laugh when we were going through the tough bits. We had an option to go back at any point if we felt unsafe. We could tell that this is very close to his heart and he really cares about the miners.

I wouldnt recommend going with this company. Actually I dont know where all the good reviews and recommendations from several blogs come from. We booked the exterior mine tour, so we did not want to go inside. The iternery said that we would learn a lot about the process of the mining and the process after it. But we were mixed with around 15-20(!!) other people (only one guide) who were all doing the insinde mining tour. So in the beginning we lost a lot of time while they were getting ready with their gear. After that we went to a market where our guide jonny made some little explanation and we had to buy gifts for the miners. After that we headed to the mine area and took some photos from a viewpoint. Then we went to the mine entrance and on the way it was just about giving away "presents" to the miners which was more or less the main focus of the tour. Dont get me wrong: its good that the miners get at little bonus out of these tours, but it shouldn't be the main focus. Jonny was very hectic trying to give away our gifts and explained very very little about the miners and their work. After going to the mine entrance our tour finished - again no more explanation. So we didnt go to the refineries or somewhere else where we could learn something about the process after the mining. But this is what the website says and the whole tour should be about. So we didnt do even half of the tour. All what he said to us was: "oh, this was the iternery before covid"... well thanks for nothing. Even if we would have joined the other guys going inside the mine i would still be disappointed as he didnt explain a lot and the group was about 20 people which is wayyy too many for these narrow mines. Asking questions in these big group was also difficult. The only good thing is that his english is quite good and he was friendly. So all in all: i wouldnt go with this company again and wouldnt recommend it. If you still go with them ask gor the exact iternery at that day and how many people you are. We are very disappointed as we really wanted to learn something about the mining and the process after but we really learned nothing at all and just wasted our time and money.

Really fantastic tour. If you want to book message one of the staff on WhatsApp. The numbers are on the website. Our guide Johnny spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable about the mines having worked there as well as his father. He knows many of the miners and the children on the mine by name. The tour includes a stop at the miners market to buy coca, water, fruit, juice etc for the miners and the family’s on the mountain. Wellies, trousers, jackets, helmets and torches are all provided. Transport was from the central square.

A crazy tour! We expected a little tour into the mine about 30 minutes - 1 hour. No! You will stay inside and walk around for two hours! We paid 80B$/person for the tour which included the English tour (only 70B$ in Spanish), the equipment (helmet/pant/boots/jacket/headlamp)and the mini van. You will have to pay 2B$ extra for a mask but do it! Don’t take the present bag for miners which cost 20B$. I’m not sure they need soda and crackers but more water and fruits.. Last and best point : Antonio the English speaking guide is really friendly and has a good sense of humor. Even if tragic family stories happened to him into the mine. Claustrophobic people : forget the tour!

Very impressive, informative, moving but also fun tour! I hesitated to do a mine tour, but very glad I did it! So good to see what goes on in the mines, and get a real insight in the life of the miners. Our guide Antonio was caring, funny and made us feel safe all the way through. He shares touching stories, but also lights up the spirits with jokes. He is an old miners himself and he really cares about his people who still work in the coorporation. Very educative tour, definitely one of the most impressive tours I did in Bolivia and it makes me think twice before purchasing a new phone etc. because now I know the story behind the raw materials. If you are claustrofobic or having problems with breathing better don't do it. As some parts of the tour are pretty full on and spaces tight. Other then that highly recommend!

Definitely the least touristy and the most impressive tour we did in Bolivia. The visit to the mines was both uplifting and confronting, adventurous and breathtakingly real. No better guide could have organized it than Antonio, who owns the company and is an ex-miner. Because of that his approach is humane and real, the stories he tells grab you in the stomach. I believe they also do city tours and evening walks full of lore and legend.

Wow, amazing mine tour! Same price as the other mine tours (120bs) and 20bs for the (voluntary) gifts for the miners (soda, coca leaves, etc). I heavily recommend to also buy the mask for 2bs, as it’s dusty in the mines. Everything is provided: helmet with torch, boots and a overall to keep you clean. Good healthy condition recommended, as it’s quite hard to climb and crawl in the mines at this altitude (about 3600m?). The guide Antoño is very funny! It was a pleasure to meet him and get to know about the history and everything else about mining there!

Two points. 1. Breathtaking (literally), but more so figuratively. Next time you buy a silver watch or any metal material, you will remember. 2. Antonio. He at first seems quite loopy -- and maybe he is -- but the more he reveals, about his past, including his family's history in the mining industry, what miners face day-to-day, why they do it, etc. will shake your very being. He's a great guy, who can speak decent english and has a unique humor!!! Gracias por todos.

(Translated by Google) A great experience with Vicky. We did the adventure tour with which you go down about 200 meters inside the mines. All the stories about the miners and the harsh conditions they work in are touching. The agency is formed by ex-miners and helps maintain the mine and the work of the miners (Original) Una gran experiencia con Vicky. Hicimos el tour aventura con el que bajas unos 200 metros dentro de las minas. Son conmovedoras todas las historias sobre los mineros y las duras condiciones el las que trabajan. Had a brilliant tour with Jhonny. He took us to a mine where there were no other tourists and he seemed to know everyone. He let us decide how adventurous we wanted the tour to be. We learned a lot from Jhonny.

Great local company we did the mines tour with them for 120B per person and everything was perfect. I liked how the guide Johnny knew all the people around the mines which created a nice friendly relationship between us the tourists and the miners that are doing hard work. He was a miner himself for a few years and speaks English well. Johnny also helped us to purchase some nice stones from the miners. There was no rush in the mines and they gave us clothes, helmets, shoes and lights. 10/10
