I came here on opening day fully expecting it to be a disaster. Much to my surprise, everything was running smoothly and efficiently. I ordered 3 rolls to go, it was buy 2 get 1 free. I was provided hot tea while I waited which was delicious and such a pleasant surprise. It took about 20 minutes for the rolls, but they were all amazing and definitely worth the wait. I grabbed a menu so I can call ahead next time. The dining room is clean and open, and there is a sushi bar to sit at as well. Staff was super friendly and inviting and I can't wait to go back. Excellent addition to our community!

Had the Spicy Devil Roll, Firecracker Roll, and the Magic Roll for dinner with my wife along with a few Japanese sodas. This was by far the best meal we have had in SUCH a long time. Our wait staff was beyond polite and helpful. The meal was extremely reasonable as far as cost and quantity. I absolutely can't wait to go back. Best sushi I've had in 15 years!

My husband and I are from South Texas, traveling for work and staying in the area for awhile. We were looking for something different for dinner and came across this place. We dined in, service was fast and our waiter was great. Food came out delicious! We ordered the Hibachi Steak dinner, it was cooked perfectly, lots of flavor and well seasoned. Asked our waiter what recommendations he had for sushi. He recommended the Godzilla Roll and Spicy Devil Roll so we ordered both and he did not disappoint! We’ve traveled to plenty of sushi/hibachi places in different states while traveling and this one is definitely on our top places to eat at. I will definitely order here again!

As somebody who's never experienced sushi before, I found this dining experience absolutely wonderful! The staff was friendly, attentive, and kind. The meal was PHENOMENAL!!!! I've never eaten such well plated, delicious, beautiful food before tonight. I will DEFINITELY be back again and again. Also, the cost was SO much cheaper than I had planned for. Kudos to them for buy two, get one free Maki rolls. Overall, amazing staff, amazing food, super clean restaurant.

Went with an experienced friend, my 1st time to eat there. Food was better than I had prepared for! Cindy and her staff are very friendly and helpful.

This restaurant is very consistent in staff friendliness and quality of the food. I have eaten here over a dozen times so far and it is an extremely enjoyable experience each time. So far my top favorite rolls are spicy tuna and crunchy roll. And for the other options I've really enjoyed the teriyaki sauce which I usually get on chicken. The chicken curry is equally amazing and you can never go wrong with some hibachi 🙂

Love the hibachi shrimp

I went with a friend for lunch. Always great food. Sushi combo with miso soup and salad is very good the Bento box too. The service like the food is always excellent.

We are always happy with our food and overall experience whenever we visit Tokyo! Delicious food, calming atmosphere and great staff who are always happy to accommodate their guests! Of course o asked for help with my chop sticks and got a full lesson and made my server laugh. It's always a good time eating here.

The food was almost too pretty to eat. And it tasted wonderful! I had a very enjoyable experience!

Love Tokyo!! There is something for everyone on the menu. If sushi scares you, the hibachi is wonderful, or try a cooked roll. The people are very knowledgeable and ready to help you decide. I have never had a bad roll! Again, there's no raw in the cooked rolls and they are amazing! It's wonderfully decorated with a nice ambiance. Give it a try!

My favorite place in town. I heard they travel daily to Sioux Falls for fresh fish. Which is incredible here in the middle of the state. Try a Sapporo and a Crunchy Roll, my fav!

Awesome place

A wonderful addition to the food scene I’m Pierre. The staff is knowledge and always smiling. The food is wonderful every time. If you’re not a fan of sushi they make hibachi in the kitchen that Is really good. Try the tempura if you can it’s delicious. Be prepared for a short wait, they have had more customers then they can handle from day one.

Roughly only took a half hour from the point of walking in the door to being done with my meal. Probably one of the better places in Pierre to eat in my opinion. Honestly it was a little bit of a struggle finding gluten free options at first, since their isn’t a separate menu you have to ask or be knowledge about the rolls and how they are different here. But the staff work with you and now that they’ve all dealt with it they navigate your options easier now. But the food is taste, the service is super strong as everyone will check in with you and how your meal is going, and the options are varied. I suggest the steak hibachi if you aren’t a sushi person.

Great sushi. In Pierre, SD. Our whole family had a great time and the food was super fresh. Melt in your mouth fish on great rolls. Highly recommended and friendly staff.

Had the twin dragon roll, the only reason it’s 4stars and not 5.. As I walk in I was greeted with warm smiles, the smells and atmosphere was a relaxation pleasant to the body. The waitress sat me down and left. 10 minuets later I had to call one over so I could at lest get a glass of water.. this is the reason for 4 and not 5. I understand that during busy hours with limited staffing service can get on the slow side.. but at lets get customers drinks when they sit down!! The food was good and well priced. If I go back I would probably get it to go, or make sure it’s not in a “rush hour” time..

What a lovely experience! The servers are friendly and attentive, the food is delicious (we loved the wontons and the Twin Dragon roll). Portion sizes are amazing for the price. My aunt took me out for lunch here and we are already looking forward to our next visit!

What an experience! Service is excellent, food is so good! There were some very interesting flavor combinations that I wouldn’t expect. Honestly felt as though everything was reasonably priced as well. I’ll be back!

Great food but slow service

Absolutely blown away by how great the sushi is at this place. I would’ve never expected such a great sushi spot in a small Midwest USA town. Highly recommend this place!!

Fantastic sushi and Clean facilities.

I just recently moved here out of town so I was looking for a good sushi place close to home and this is what i found, Excellent service, Amazing food, and Friendly staff.

The mall building this is in does not look like much, but once you get inside it's really nice. The servers were polite and attentive without being intrusive or pushy, and very professional. We would definitely eat there again if we are ever back in town!

I've been here with my husband multiple times, and the food, service, and atmosphere are always amazing. It's always a pleasant experience. The staff are quite helpful, respectful, and friendly. My favorite restaurant in town. My boyfriend and I eat here at least once a month, usually more. The staff are friendly and quick, the food is awesome. Always clean and well kept, great spot for dates or smaller parties.

Expensive for not much food. And no real taste in many of the cooked items. I don't know about the sushi

What a wonderful surprise to find a good sushi restaurant in Pierre! Tokyo has very good sushi, maybe not as fresh as if you're right on the ocean, but plenty good, every bit as good as some of the decent sushi places I used to frequent when I lived in Miami. The proof is in the lunch crowd, which often packs the establishment. If you're a sushi newbie, or are worried about eating uncooked seafood, they have many delicious, fully-cooked Japanese dishes and appetizers. Highly recommended!

I was super excited to try this place, I called and placed a pick up order for 2 sushi rolls right at opening. It took about 30 minutes to complete my order and when I looked I was very surprised by how small the portion sizes were to be priced how they are but I thought maybe it makes up in taste, I was wrong. I get home and try one and it's alright not the best though, I'd definitely had better. I try the second one and it's not good, I mean it's edible I guess, I literally only finished them simply because I paid for it. Sadly I doubt I will ever go back which really sucks because I love sushi

Maybe this is the best Japanese food gets in South Dakota, but it was just barely acceptable sushi. The wait service is very friendly and attentive, but the sushi quality is the worst I've seen. The restaurant seems clean. The salmon was tiny and had several wholes ripped through it. The salmon roe was also a tiny portion and had many busted eggs in an asymmetrical mess of a seaweed wrap. The "seafood" fried rice was good, but it was imitation crab, a few tiny shrimp and a few tiny scallops. It's hard to mess up fried rice anyways. The restaurant seems to focus on a million different rolls they cover up with a concoction of sauces to hide it. If you are in the middle of South Dakota and need a sushi fix bad, then this may have to be your only option, but if you are from out of town and can wait until you get back for good sushi then avoid this place.

Service is great. Sea weed salad, rainbow roll, and hibachi steak were all good during my 2 lunch visits. Watch out for the ice in the parking lot. It's a problem.

Absolutely amazing food, great waitress

Sushi rolls are terrible. Had to throw out most of the food because it was inedible. First of all, the shrimp tempura tasted like old oil and was stale with absolutely no crunch. The mango in the angel roll was not ripe and tasted like sour pickles which was not a good addition to the low quality fish in the roll. There was a decent effort to mask all the imperfections of the fish quality and shrimp with tons of mayo, sauce, and toppings(which tasted old as well) but was to no avail. Really bad food.
