We searched all over town for place that still had breakfast food after 11am and were pleased to find this place. They serve the Sunrise Burger topped with bacon and eggs all day. Burgers here are made fresh are served on big fluffy buns. Everything was delicious and the wait time wasn't bad. Highly recommend if you're visiting Pierre and just coming from Mountain time like we were and need a late breakfast.

A nice simple diner with classic food and atmosphere. Staff very friendly and their locals love the place because everyone seem to know each other! Good food and service.

I'm biased, I prefer small diners over big chains any day, and this place proves why. The staff is friendly and the burger doesn't look pretty like one on a menu because it's got what you need where it counts: you get plenty of it and it tastes great! Best bacon double cheeseburger I've had in years, would recommend this place to anyone. The dining area is very small but only lends to a cozy atmosphere, they have a drive thru if you're in a hurry or rather eat at home. Only in this area for a job but will be remembering this place if I come back thru.

Hands down the best burger in town. Mashed potatoes are exceptional. Let's face it, it's all probably good I just havent had time to try everything yet. Fun, friendly staff and that classic diner experience. So happy to have this local gem!

I love this place. Great food. Generous portions. Cool decor. Good music. $25 for 2 people because we ordered a side order in addition to our 2 meals.

Great beef makes a burger what it is, and this place nailed it. One of the best burgers I have had in a long while. Tipped the cook and staff. Will be back!

I loved the bbq sauce and taters of course their service was prompt via drive thru. Great food. A little on the uppity but worth the it one hundred percent. Same as Hardee's or Arbys but backyard bbq style. Which I liked.

Cute little old fashioned diner, was in town for a visit and of course had to try it. Portions were big, food was cheap, tasted sooo good and fresh. If I ever go back to Pierre, Im stopping by!

The barbecue beef is pretty good. My husband had "The Hot Mamma" burger and loved it! They took the seeds out of the peppers so they were the perfect amount of spice.

Good food, gross restaurant. If the grease covered booths aren’t enough, the bathrooms are disgusting! A/c never works. Makes a person wonder how this place passes a health inspection! No where to park!

Cute little dive on the east side of town, food was sooooo scrumptious!!

This place is a hidden gem! 💎 better than 5 Guys and Fredsy's and it's right here in Pierre! They've got just about any French fry you could crave and the burgers are thick and fresh. Hope they can upgrade to a bigger place sometime. The place they're at now is starting to get old. Also hope they advertise more cause I had no idea there were burgers this good in Pierre.

An old fashioned diner, small, personable, with a lot of great attention to both the food and the service. Great extensive menu. The burgers were great smash style burgers with crisp lacy crust, plenty of toppings, soft delicious buns, and a lot of great sides. The shoestring fries were super crisp and wonderful, and the tater tots are deep fried to a studly crispness. The chili dog was generously topped.

My girlfriend and I ate here. I got the aloha burger, and she got the dulex grilled cheese. These items were super delicious. They also come with a side of fries or onion rings. I definitely recommend the onion rings. All and all a great dinner. The customer service was really good. It was a homie environment.

We were really grateful that they let us place our order even though they were just about to close up. The online menu had mentioned breakfast, but we had a suspicion it might be outdated. The atmosphere had this cool diner charm, with roadside aesthetics and license plates decorating the walls. As for the food, it was decent. It's possible our late order affected the quality, given they were getting ready to shut down. The shoestring fries didn't quite win us over, but hunger made us gobble them down anyway. My partner went for a Philly cheese steak sandwich, but what he got seemed more like pulled pork and sadly lacked the cheese. On my end, I opted for a special burger with bacon and egg, and I personally found it quite tasty – even my kids pitched in to help devour it. Our oldest chose a grilled cheese which they described as a classic staple and enjoyed. On the other hand, our youngest ordered a chili dog, but unfortunately, the chili wasn't their cup of tea. I gave it a try and it honestly reminded me of canned chili. Overall, though, the meal did hit the spot.

Right as I was gonna eat I saw a black hair in my burger (I have blonde hair and no family members got black hair) i will say that was a bit nasty but I still ate the burger 🙂 it was scrumptious 3/5. I forgot to take a picture of my food before I ate it but here you go.

Love the small diner feel. Very reasonable prices and portions. I would recommend the waffle fries over the shoestring because they're too small and crispy for my taste, but my bacon cheeseburger was delicious. Both the patty and the bacon were perfectly cooked. Had the fish the 2nd time around, very good! And the waffle fries are definitely the right choice.

Wow! Just Wow! Found my new go-to favorite restaurant in Pierre! Wish I would have stopped a few years ago instead of just driving by! Burgers, Ribs, BBQ, coney dogs, fries, baked potatoes with toppings and mashed potatoes were absolutely amazing! Fast friendly service where the locals go. When everyone has raised their prices through the roof, these guys have kept it amazingly affordable! Owner and staff were extremely helpful, friendly and honestly cared how your meal was! Very accommodating, especially in what seems, an unfriendly World this has become! Thank-you again Heath, and the great staff at Big Tom's Diner!

As a tourist, the online menu sounded wonderful. The menu online is not correct at all. No breakfast, no shakes, no Buffalo chicken salad, no meat loaf, no steak, no pie, plus so many items not mentioned on the online menu.

That have the most inviting atmosphere and they are so friendly and fun. We love love the food there and there is always something that is the special of the day. Please try because you will love ❤️

Portions were to small for a family pack, when ordered for gour- might have been enough for three. Servings were dried out, ribs looked burnt and were dry as bones, beans were also burned. Dinner rolls- we didn't even get enough gor our family of four. Slaw, was the only item that was moist enough to eat, but again. Not enough for a family of four. Have not been back, likely will never be back.

Where is the occasion did you find a place that actually makes its own bread it prepares all of its own soups even the chili. We had a very lovely experience in this states capital everything was wonderful but to come down to the diner at the basement of the capital building both historic and delicious at the same time lol I had a bowl of chili and it was absolutely wonderful… I almost wish they served it in a bucket sized bowl.

Big Tom’s burger was delicious. Fish and chips basket was great. Fast friendly service! Just traveling through and so glad that’s where we picked for lunch!!

I don’t eat burgers often, but Big Tom’s Diner supposedly has the best burgers in Pierre, SD. Did not disappoint! It was the meat - fresh not frozen - and you can taste how fresh it is. Served on homemade buns. And their coleslaw was great, not swimming in mayo like some. Very friendly service and a clean little place. I had the cowboy burger with bacon.

Small diner, great BBQ and other food. Open on labor day so for travelers like us it was perfect. Stop in and have a brisket sandwich you won't be disappointed.

My wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich and I went with the Philly cheese steak sandwich. She said her sandwich was outstanding. My sandwich had plenty of meat, peppers, onion and cheese. The meat needed more seasoning. It was blah tasting. If it had the seasoning this review would be 5 stars.

Great underrated diner. Always friendly staff and great food. Takes just a bit longer than fast food but it's all made super fresh. Couldn't be happier!

Been here several times over the 2+ years we’ve lived here. Great burgers and chicken strips. Service is great, very friendly. Check your to go order before leaving. Missed a couple of items but was already home since we started going here. Still great food.

Being from out of state, the employees and I'm assuming the owner were very accommodating and explained everything they had to offer. I decided to go with the Signature Burger and my mom order the Plain Jane burger. We both had potato salad on the side and I added waffle fries to my basket as well. If you've never tried potato salad on a burger before, TRY IT! Especially at this place! Mannn that burger was sweet, fresh, and delicious! Maybe the best burger I've had this year? Maybe. Definitely a must stop!

Simply not as good as everyone has said. A good burger, but just not worth the price or serving size
