Haji Ali Dargah is an unique, sacred place for Muslim & everyone can visit this place irrespective of religion .This is located right in the middle of Arabian Sea(The walk in the middle of the sea is beautiful & so peaceful ), which connects through a pathway with mainland(approximately <300mts from main road). This is very crowded place but worth seeing. It’s better visit on weekdays , low tide & non monsoon. There are many shops at entrance , which makes pathway congestion. Maintenance is poor,There was garbage all along the way to reach mosque & in sea also.On weekends you've to go through the subways to reach the Dargah because of traffic issues. You can have beautiful views at the back of the dargah & can see the Mahalakshmi temple from here. Don't buy scarves unless you'll go for the prayers. Coastal project works are going on here. Nearest railway station -Mahalakshmi

The place spreads a spiritual feeling and we really felt blessed to be there. However, found it very crowded and the row of beggars sitting by the path leading to Dargah is not a pleasant site. Enjoyed the complete BAZAAR at the underground path. However, I was saddened to see the condition of the Arabian sea. Of course, it is the fault of the thoughtless tourists and visitors who do not mind throwing garbage and polluting the sea.

The 5 stars are for the historical and religious significance. Apart from that, if you're not here to pray, there isn't much to do. There is a prayer area in the middle seggregated for men and women. Around that is a walkway around the building that overlooks the Arabian Sea. The complex itself is quite small. The path to the building is fairly wide, but can feel narrow if there is more than a small crowd. You do have to walk under a tunnel which can feel unnerving in the dark. The entrance from the main road was not intuitive. There is a small path that turns into the tunnel. Worth seeing once.

Haji Ali, both a mosque and a tomb built in 1431, sits right out in the ocean but is connected to land by a narrow pathway. The pathway becomes completely submerged during high tide, giving the impression that it's floating on the water. During low tide, it's possible to walk along the path to Haji Ali. With the waves lapping at your legs, it's an exhilarating experience.

The sea view at Haji Ali Dargah. Enjoy the cool atmosphere. Entry to this place is bit narrow. Walking after 500 MTR you will able see the view of sea. In day time it is sunny. Morning n afternoon is good time to visit.

I have visited this place since on Saturday this place is actually really very beautiful✨ I love the to sit on the ocean side, place is actually very crowded, best time to visit there is morning and specially evening, people will definitely love the Sunset view, it's heartwarming😍 Dargah is also very nice, but now it's under construction, But maybe soon the work will finish. You can also get a small stall of snacks there, out side of the dargah there are so many small small stalls of so many things for shopping, like books, hats, women and men jewelry, toys etc.

It’s been like forever I have always wished to visit haji ali, back in 2009 when I went to Mumbai, this surreal place seems so different and now its bordered by some construction plates, so much garbage, and plastics which was spoiling the serenity of haji ali. back then there were roads, and we can clearly see haji ali in the middle with a road to walk. it was indeed very beautiful. As it was Sunday the place was overcrowded and around, I guess 20,000 people were there and it was so dirty, area was polluted, the stalls on the way they forced us to buy the items and even misbehaved which was a very embarrassing situation. I would visit Haji ali again, but it will be a weekday. I would never suggest people to go on weekends.

Amazing place. It is in the sea. The sound of waves hitting the shore is amazing. You get a clear view of the horizon, and a sunset that is mind blowing. The place is very clean and the arrangement is very good. You get to see everything you wish for. The spiritual environment is very good but they have a very weird style of putting shoes. I didn't get it so I get in the Dargah alternatively. This place is amazing.

It's a shrine to visit. Vibe is spiritual. Lot of tourist around the world to visit the place. The location is excellent in between the sea. The high tide and low tide covers the way to the shrine. Must visit place while you are in Mumbai. And for belivers its holy. But the people to visit, must understand that every place must be kept clean. The sea coast was very untidy. Lot of garbage thrown in sea. Its also a crime, if you put garbage in sea. So please be aware and keep the place clean.

Haji Ali Dargah is an open place for people of all the religions. It's a very unique dargah which is situated about 300m away from the land in the Arabian sea. Due to the effect of high and low tides, it's a very unique monument. The whole path towards the dargah is full of streets.

It is one of the most famous places in Mumbai. People from all religions visit here. I am Marathi and I visited long ago with my friends. Now I visit here for the Shore walk. It was completed in the 15th century, somewhere in the 1430s for a Muslim saint who lived in Mumbai. Located in Worli at the coast. It has a beautiful path connection between the city and Dargah. In the monsoon or highest high tide the path goes under water and only the Dargah stays above water level and it is very beautiful to see. Now due to the coastal road construction there are some slight changes in path. Alert- carry a Handkerchief for the head and wear full clothes (pants). And do not fall for the vendors in the path for anything it's a spiritual place and some people have made it money business, and taking unwanted extra money from tourists.

Situated on the backdrop of a beautiful view of the Arabian sea is the shrine of Haji Ali, dedicated to the wealthy merchant turned who gave up his worldly belongings and turned into Muslim Sufi saint after a trip to Mecca. Haji Ali Dargah is located on a small islet that is off the southern coast of Mumbai near Worli. People from all walks of life and religions come here to seek blessings. The Dargah can only be accessed during the low tides via a causeway that is surrounded by the sea on all sides. At night, the view of the shrine lit up in the distance with nothing but the sea around it, is a divine sight. Built of glass, the tomb is a beautiful illustration of the Indo-Islamic style of architecture. A marble courtyard contains the central shrine. The tomb within the mosque is roofed by a brocaded red and green cloth, supported by an exquisite silver frame and marble columns. The main hall has marble pillars engraved with creative mirror work: blue, green, yellow chips of glass arranged in varied designs and Arabic patterns which spell the ninety-nine names of Allah. As per Islamic customs, there are different praying rooms for ladies and gents.

The Haji Ali Dargah was constructed in 1431 in memory of a wealthy Muslim merchant, Sayyed Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari, who gave up all his worldly possessions before making a pilgrimage to Mecca. Hailing from Bukhara, in present-day Uzbekistan, Bukhari travelled around the world in the early to mid 15th century, and eventually settled in present-day Mumbai. According to legends surrounding his life, once the saint saw a poor woman crying on the road, holding an empty vessel. He asked her what the problem was, she sobbed that her husband would thrash her as she stumbled and accidentally spilled the oil she was carrying. He asked her to take him to the spot where she spilt the oil. There, he jabbed a finger into the soil and the oil gushed out. The overjoyed woman filled up the vessel and went home. Later, Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari had a recurring and disturbing dream that he had injured Earth by his act. Full of remorse and grief from that day he started keeping unwell. Then with the permission of his mother, he traveled to India with his brother and finally reached the shore of Mumbai – near Worli or at some place opposite the present tomb. His brother went back to their native place. Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari sent a letter with him to their mother informing her that he was keeping good health and that he had decided to reside at that place permanently for the spread of Islam and that she should forgive him.

A serene and spiritual shrine. They don't allow you to get anywhere near the saints actual resting place. You can get about 10 meters close max. It has a beautiful mosque with very artful engravings made on marbles adjacent to the shrine.

Until his death he kept spreading knowledge about Islam to the people and his devotees would regularly visit him. Before his death he advised his followers that they should not bury him at any proper place or graveyard and should drop his shroud ('kafan') in the ocean such that it should be buried by the people where it is found. His wish was obeyed by his followers. That is why the Dargah Sharief is built at the very site where his Shroud came to rest in the middle of the sea where it perched on a small mound of rocks rising above the sea. The Tomb and Dargah Sharief were built in the years to come. On Thursdays and Fridays, the shrine is visited by an enormous number of pilgrims. Irrespective of faith and religion, people visit the dargah to get the blessings of the holy saint. Sometimes, especially on Fridays, various Sufi musicians perform a form of devotional music called Qawwali at the dargah

Haji Ali Dargah is one of the most popular religious places in Mumbai, visited by people of all religions alike. Haji Ali Dargah is one of India’s most famous and prestigious landmarks situated about 500 yards from the Mumbai shoreline in the middle of the Arabian Sea off Lala Lajpatrai Marg. The structure was erected on a set of high rising rocks and was given its present day shape in the early 19th century after the Trust was legally formed as an entity in 1916. Haji Ali Dargah is the complex housing the tomb of the Muslim Saint Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari (R.A.). Along with the tomb, there is also a Masjid at Haji Ali. This monument has been sentinel to the shores of Mumbai since a long time. The structure has white domes and minarets reminiscent with the Mughal architecture of the period. The Dargah is a renowned pilgrimage site among the Muslims. Non-Muslims are also allowed to visit the Dargah. The white-coloured structure attracts visitors in large numbers. About 10 - 15 thousand people visit the Dargah daily. The number of visitors increases to 20 - 30 thousand, on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Lakhs of devotees visit the Dargah on the second day of Ramadhan Eid and Bakri Eid (Eid-ul-Uzha), and during which the pathway leading to the Dargah Complex looks like a Sea of Humanity. People from all parts of the world without restrictions of caste, creed and religion visit the Dargah to offer their prayers and for the fulfillment of their wishes by the blessings of the Saint Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari (R.A.). Some pray for wealth, others for health, children, marriages, etc. have their wishes being granted at all the times.

Visited Haji Ali in Mumbai and had an incredible experience. The serene ambiance of the dargah and the mesmerizing view of the Arabian Sea create a truly spiritual atmosphere. The walkway leading to the dargah during high tide is an adventurous yet soulful journey. The architecture is awe-inspiring, and the sense of devotion among the visitors adds to the overall charm. A must-visit destination that blends spirituality with a unique coastal setting.

(Translated by Google) The mosque itself is nothing particularly outstanding. The approach to it is much more interesting. A long pier lined with food and souvenir vendors, cripples, porosheiks and families living on rafts along it. India in all its beauty))) This place is worth visiting. As someone who enjoys exploring off-the-beaten-path sights, I wasn't sure what to expect when I visited "Haji Ali Dargah". But I can confidently say that this is a truly unique and special place that shouldn't be missed. While it may not be as well-known as some of Mumbai's other tourist attractions, there is a certain charm and magic to this temple that can't be replicated. It's clear that many people come here seeking something deeper than just a typical sightseeing experience, and it's easy to see why. One of the most entertaining aspects of my visit was watching some people venture out to the far areas in the water and rocks. As the water got higher, some of them found themselves trapped in the area - leading to some hilarious moments and memories that I won't soon forget! Overall, if you're looking for a unique and memorable experience in Mumbai, "Haji Ali Dargah" is definitely worth a visit. Even if you're not sure what to expect, there's something special about this temple that will leave a lasting impression. So take a break from the typical tourist sights and check it out - you won't regret it.

Haji Ali Dargah in Mumbai is a renowned religious and architectural landmark that holds a significant place in the city's cultural fabric. Situated on an islet in the Arabian Sea, this mausoleum is dedicated to the Muslim saint Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari. The Dargah's breathtaking location, connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway, adds to its charm. The sight of devotees walking across the pathway during low tide creates a mesmerizing experience. The structure itself showcases impressive Indo-Islamic architectural elements, with intricate patterns and details that reflect the rich heritage of the region. Inside the Dargah, visitors can feel a sense of tranquility and spirituality. The ambience is serene, with people offering prayers and seeking blessings. The tomb of Haji Ali holds immense significance for devotees who come here to pay their respects and seek solace. The Dargah complex also houses various facilities such as a mosque, library, and a courtyard where devotees can gather. It provides a platform for people from different walks of life to come together, fostering a spirit of unity and harmony. However, it's worth noting that due to its popularity, Haji Ali Dargah can get quite crowded, especially during weekends and religious festivals. This might impact the overall experience, as it can get challenging to navigate through the throngs of people. In conclusion, Haji Ali Dargah is an iconic destination in Mumbai that showcases a harmonious blend of architecture, spirituality, and cultural heritage. While the crowd may be overwhelming at times, the Dargah's significance and the breathtaking location make it a must-visit for those interested in exploring the city's religious and historical sites.

Situated amidst the waters of the Arabian Sea, this location stands as an iconic site in Mumbai. While it tends to be quite bustling on weekends, you'll still have the opportunity to relish the refreshing sea breeze both en route to the mosque and from its interior. Since parking isn't available, opting for a leisurely walk is advisable. Cameras are permitted within the area, allowing you to capture moments. Though photography isn't allowed inside the mosque, you can still capture some wonderful shots outside. Don't miss out on indulging in the local street snacks near Haji Ali Dargah, particularly the offerings from Haji Ali Juice Corner. As you depart, take a moment to explore the underpass street market. It's a great spot for imitation jewelry and watches, offering an additional dimension to your visit.

My visit to Haji Ali Dargah was a decent experience. The stunning location amidst the Arabian Sea and the causeway leading to the shrine added a unique charm to the visit. The architecture of the dargah itself was intriguing, and the ambiance inside was peaceful. However, the place tends to get quite crowded, affecting the overall serenity. Additionally, the maintenance of the surroundings and the facilities could be improved. Despite these aspects, it's a noteworthy cultural and religious site, offering a glimpse into Mumbai's diversity and spiritual heritage.

Nestled serenely amidst the waves of the Arabian Sea, the Haji Ali Dargah stands as a testament to faith, spirituality, and architectural grandeur. Visiting this iconic landmark is an experience that transcends religious boundaries, offering a glimpse into the rich cultural tapestry of Mumbai, India. As a traveler seeking solace or simply an admirer of historical marvels, my recent visit to the Haji Ali Dargah left an indelible mark on my soul. Upon approaching the dargah, one is immediately struck by its striking silhouette against the Mumbai skyline. The whitewashed walls and shimmering golden dome beckon visitors from afar, hinting at the tranquility that lies within. Stepping through the grand entrance, I was enveloped in a sense of reverence and humility, as devotees and tourists alike mingled in harmonious coexistence. The architectural splendor of the dargah is nothing short of breathtaking. Intricate marble lattice-work adorns the exterior, while delicate calligraphy inscribed with verses from the Quran adorns the interior walls. The central shrine, housing the tomb of Saint Haji Ali, is a masterpiece of Indo-Islamic design, exuding an aura of sanctity and devotion. But beyond its architectural magnificence, it is the palpable spiritual energy that truly sets the Haji Ali Dargah apart. As I stood amidst the throngs of pilgrims, I felt a sense of unity and collective devotion wash over me. The rhythmic chants of prayers mingled with the crashing of waves below, creating a symphony of sound that seemed to transcend earthly realms. One cannot help but be moved by the stories of faith and miracles associated with the dargah. Legend has it that Saint Haji Ali, a wealthy merchant turned ascetic, was beckoned by a divine voice to journey into the sea, where he eventually perished. Miraculously, his casket is said to have floated back to the shores of Mumbai, where the dargah was built in his honor. To this day, devotees from all walks of life flock to the shrine, seeking blessings and divine intervention. My visit to the Haji Ali Dargah was a profound and humbling experience, one that left me with a renewed sense of spiritual connection and appreciation for the diversity of religious traditions. Whether you are a devout Muslim, a curious traveler, or simply a seeker of inner peace, a visit to this sacred sanctuary is sure to leave an indelible mark on your heart and soul.

We came here in the middle of the day when it was really hot, but it is quite an incredible place to see. As you walk off of the main road you almost immediately become calmer because it is closed off to traffic. There are many shops that lead up to a big tunnel, which shades you a couple minutes before walking into the pier/walkway across the water. Although it’s in the sun you have the water on either side of you and a nice breeze. It’s a very beautiful mosque and a nice place to visit. We did not enter because I didn’t have a head cover, and we were quite hot. But it is a special place even from the outside.

The most amount of fun and curiosity of this year combined, easy 5 stars. It was great visiting the place in the morning and seeing the water so low. As time passed the entire rock bottom got submerged and was covered with water. I was thankful to god to witness such a spectacular wonder 🙏

Haji Ali Dargah, mumbai This famous Dargah in Mumbai was built by a 15th century Sufi Saint – Sayyed Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari. He was a rich businessman from Bukhara, which lies in present-day Uzbekistan. He decided to abandon all his materialistic wealth and worldly possessions to become a saint just before leaving for Mecca. Later, he travelled the world and finally settled in Mumbai.

Amazing atmosphere. Spiritually uplifting experience. Lot of roadworks and construction ongoing at the shrine and surrounding area. Walkways to and from the dargah have been constructed nicely to ensure order.

The well known sacred place for ALL. You should visit Haji Ali dargah. Now it is all walkable till dargah, earlier it was pretty difficult. I got a cab from gate way of India to haji Ali. Inside you need to pay Rs.10 per shoes.

It used to be a very pleasant view at first sight earlier, however, coastal road project has ruined everything. You can’t see the tomb from road. You’ll have to walk through an underpass and the classic walkway between sea has been cut down more than half of it’s original length.

Haji Ali dargah excited to see it when I saw it in photos but in reality it’s not well maintained one and the shop people present outside at the entrance of it charges so much money for scarves flowers and even for kerchiefs they try to cheat people by saying that the scarf or kerchief is compulsory but there is no such kind of tradition .to the dargah we should walk few meters and the shops present at the starting are saying such false things and are making money.internally the dargah is good but outside and the premises are not at that much clean
