The Bandra–Worli Sea Link (officially known as Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link) is a 5.6 km  long, 8-lane wide bridge that links Bandra in the Western Suburbs of Mumbai with Worli in South Mumbai. It is the 4th  longest bridge in India  after  Bhupen Hazarika Setu, Dibang River Bridge and Mahatma Gandhi Setu. It is a cable-stayed bridge with pre-stressed concrete - steel viaducts on either side. It was planned as a part of the proposed Western Freeway  that would link the Western Suburbs to Nariman Point in Mumbai's main business district, but is now planned to become part of the  Coastal Road to Kandivali. The 1M bridge was commissioned by the  Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), and built by the  Hindustan Construction Company. The first four of the eight lanes of the bridge were opened to the public on 30 June 2009. All eight lanes were opened on 24 March 2010. The sea-link reduces travel time between Bandra and Worli during peak hours from 20 to 30 minutes to 10 minutes. As of October 2009, BWSL had an average daily traffic of around 37,500 vehicles.

An awesome creation of human being..Superb engineering. What an view this sealink holds. It was an amazing experience.. First time you will see it you will feel mesmerized.. Stopping the vehicle over the bridge is not allowed. Behtareen Umda anubhav.. Incredible India ❤️😘 Jai Hind Jai Bharat ❣️🙏🏻 Bandra Worli Sea Link is a famous eight lane cable stayed bridge adorning the arc of Mumbai’s coastline. It is one of the first projects that is an achievement of the Maharashtra Government which initiated the West Island Freeway System. The bridge is hailed to be among the few pieces of architectural design that is built on cables with pre-stressed concrete-steel viaducts that hold it in place. The bridge can cater around 37,500 vehicles per day and has drastically reduced the time of travelling between Bandra and Worli by a big margin. It is said to be one of the most breathtaking pieces of architecture that is constructed by the authorities in Mumbai. The beautiful architectural innovation complements the landscape of blue waters by the Mahim Bay in the city of Mumbai. It has become a tourist attraction because of the wonderful views it offers. Bandra Worli Sea Link is hailed as a perfect combination of natural beauty and a man-made marvel. While driving through the bridge, it’s just a delight to zip past the stunning scenery and feel the mesmerising sea breeze through the air. The place is also a wonderful getaway for photographers who can always look forward to capture some stunning images in their cameras when they are here.

Excellent place for bike riders. One must visit this place at night time - looks wore with the fabulous lights. Also it will be very great in monsoon season . The View point is a park along the coast, where a river merges into the sea. It is a drainage river, so there was bad odour through out. Park is not maintained well enough. Also, when I was there, there was rain and not many places to hide under.

Engineering Marvel for the city of Mumbai. The view from the bridge is amazing and the drive is awesome.

Wish it was better lit up ... to avoid waste of van full of police people (tax payers resources can be used better in policing) than to push away couples that come on two wheelers. Better lighting and appropriate frontage can also help senior citizens to come there and take in the sea breeze and fresh air that the governments are stealing away under the guise of infrastructure development 🤦🏻‍♂️

If you are looking for a peaceful time and definitely this place worth your time. Highly recommend visiting in early morning and at or after sunset. Ignore the background. There would be some couples and waste fallen around, but the place is amazing, full of beauty and peace.

Speed limit 80, probably the only road in Mumbai where you can touch that speed. Beautifully built and a joy to ride on. It has made Mumbai even more beautiful than before.
