I
am
compelled
to
write
about
the
unscrupulous
ways
of
conducting
business
of
Ezone,
Hiranandani
Powai,
after
being
fooled
by
them.
I
want
to
put
it
down
in
writing
on
public
forum
so
at-least
other
innocent
buyers
will
be
saved
from
this
kind
of
cheating
of
their
hard
earned
money
by
Ezone,
Powai
which
I
faced.
I
planned
to
buy
a
new
TV
for
my
family
and
after
weighing
my
options
decided
to
go
to
Ezone
near
Haiko
Mall,
Hiranandani
Gardens,
Powai
-
as
it
is
closest
to
my
house
and
situated
in
a
plush
locality
(which
I
assumed
will
guarantee
me
nice
products).
After
doing
my
own
online
research,
talking
to
sales
person
at
Ezone
and
post
going
through
the
different
options
available
on
display
-
I
zeroed
on
LG
49
inches
LED
smart
TV
with
web
OS
3.0
Model
49LH600T.
I
made
the
payment
of
Rs.
70,000
for
it
and
was
promised
delivery
and
installation
in
1
-
2
days
as
the
TV
has
to
be
shipped
from
their
warehouse.
When
the
TV
was
finally
delivered
and
installed
I
saw
that
the
browser
showed
many
recently
visited
pages
on
home
screen.
I
inferred
that
this
is
the
same
TV
put
on
display
and
used
as
a
demo
in
the
shop
and
is
not
coming
from
warehouse.
I
checked
browser
history
but
it
was
empty
(cleared).
All
settings
were
changed
to
look
like
brand
new
TV.
Workers
at
Ezone
packed
the
demo
piece
in
a
new
(another)
TV's
cardboard
box
and
applied
tapes
around
it,
to
make
it
look
sealed
and
shipped
from
warehouse.
I
wanted
to
have
concrete
evidence
of
Ezone's
unethical
practices.
Googling
about
the
TVs
showed
that
smart
TVs
have
internal
clocks
which
measure
the
run
time
(the
total
duration
the
TV
was
used
for
viewing).
I
was
shocked
to
discover
that
the
TV
I
was
delivered
had
been
used
for
more
than
a
thousand
hours
-
precisely
for
1,086
hours
(photos
included
in
this
post).
Ezone
staff
had
cleared
all
history
to
make
TV
appear
new
but
the
internal
clock
cannot
be
messed
with
easily
and
so
it
gave
away
their
unethical
practices.
I
was
lucky
that
I
am
a
little
tech
savvy
and
so
could
call
their
bluff
in
an
hour
of
TV
being
set
up
at
my
house.
But
majority
of
customers
of
Ezone
would
not
be
that
tech
savvy
and
will
get
duped
with
their
hard
earned
money
as
the
products
they
would
buy
will
be
old
(over
used)
and
would
run
out
of
lifespan
earlier
than
a
fresh
piece.
Also,
it
is
every
right
of
a
customer
to
get
a
new
product
if
he
or
she
is
made
to
pay
through
his/her
nose.
Excuses
like
we
don't
know
how
the
demo
(display)
TV
got
inside
the
packing
and
reached
your
home.
Or
someone
might
have
exchanged
it
and
we
don't
know
anything
look
lame.
This
exposes
Ezone's
unethical
and
unscrupulous
business
practices
where
they
pack
a
old
TV
in
a
new
box
to
pass
it
off
as
a
fresh
product
coming
from
warehouse.
Ezone
has
promised
to
replace
it
but
the
trust
has
been
broken.
Just
because
I
could
find
the
clock
hidden
deep
inside
the
settings
and
have
a
solid
proof
against
them
I
might
get
a
new
piece
now.
What
about
customers
who
don't
know
all
this?
Be
vigilant
and
save
yourself
from
being
duped?
One
of
my
professors
at
IIM
Ahmedabad,
Dr.
Saral
Mukherjee,
used
to
teach
us
that
being
ethical
is
good
for
business
-
I
hope
Ezone
teaches
some
business
ethics
to
its
staff
