Authentic
Malvani
Cuisine
Restaurant
In
Mumbai.
This
Restaurant
has
spread
their
cuisine
into
3
parts
i.e.
Malvani,
Continental
and
Oriental
wherein
50%
is
Malvani
concentrated.
Further
their
menu
is
divided
into
Soup,
Pasta,
Burgers,
Starters,
Main
Couse,
Deserts
and
Bar
menu.
The
good
part
about
their
menu
is
that
it
is
Concentrated
on
selective
items
in
every
section
of
the
menu.
The
Ambiance
of
the
Place
its
divided
into
two
Parts
i.e.
the
Lounge
area
and
Open
area.
The
Lounge
area
is
more
of
a
clubbing
place
where
in
they
have
a
dance
floor
and
a
live
bar
with
a
Dark
ambiance.
The
Open
area
is
where
most
of
the
people
sit
as
it
is
very
comfortable
and
spacey.
Its
covered
with
plastic
curtains
which
acts
as
a
barrier
between
the
street
and
the
restaurant.
To
keep
the
place
nice
and
cool
they
have
2
huge
air
coolers
covering
the
place
and
antique
lamps
over
every
table
to
give
a
nice
feel.
First
was
the
Maharashtrian
Chakna
Platter,
it
was
as
it
sounds
a
mixture
of
Traditional
Maharashtrian
snacks
comprising
of
Kotimber
Vadi,
Mini
Vada,
lasun
Chatney.
I
liked
the
Kotimber
Vadi
the
most
as
it
was
nicely
made
with
crispy
outer
covering
and
a
semi
spicy
soft
internal
mash.
It
was
tastier
with
the
Mint
sauce
(Pudina
Chatteny).
Next,
I
tried
was
the
Basa
Chilly.
An
Oriental
based
dish
which
was
a
tingling
taste
to
the
tongue.
The
fish
was
cut
in
cubes,
covered
with
a
thin
batter
which
was
cooked
as
a
stir
fry
with
a
spicy
sauce.
The
dish
was
light
yet
had
a
impact
on
the
taste.
The
chillness
was
well
balanced
with
the
Basa.
Overall
it’s
a
nice
dish
to
try.
Next
up
was
Surmai
Fry.
This
fish
was
well
marinated
for
over
5
hours
in
a
homemade,
handmade
Malvani
Masala
made
by
the
Owner’s
Mother
ensuring
the
age
old
taste
and
tradition
in
the
taste.
I
felt
the
burst
of
Malvani
flavours
as
soon
as
I
had
my
first
bite
of
the
fish.
Moreover
the
fish
was
not
of
cold
storage
which
was
an
enhancer
to
the
taste.
Later
I
tried
the
Lasagne
to
give
a
change
to
my
taste
buds.
A
nice
traditional
Continental
dish.
The
concept
of
this
dish
is
basically
a
layer
of
food
covered
in
cheese.
This
hotel
had
kept
the
tradition
of
this
dish
properly
hence
the
name
of
the
restaurant
has
a
Soul
in
it.
The
food
was
properly
layered
in
with
a
little
yet
decent
amount
of
cheese
which
was
good.
The
dish
was
not
to
heavy
to
eat
yet
goof
enough
to
fulfil
your
Hunger.
This
is
a
nice
dish
to
go
for.
The
first
dish
of
the
Main
course
I
had
was
the
Mutton
Vade.
This
dish
is
divided
into
3
parts
i.e.
the
Mutton
curry,
Deep
fired
vade
(Puri)
and
Tabada
Rassa
(
red
coloured
curry).
The
Mutton
curry
was
a
little
spicy
and
nice
tender
piece
of
mutton.
It
was
nice
to
have
with
the
vade.
The
vade
is
very
blunt
in
taste
which
is
why
you
need
a
nice
curry
to
have
with
it
which
was
served
well
by
the
mutton
curry.
Last
on
the
Main
course
was
the
Prawns
Biryani.
.
This
Biryani
is
not
prepared
like
a
traditional
biryani,
The
restaurant
has
given
a
Malvani
twist
to
the
preparation
of
the
dish
which
you
can
feel
it
in
the
taste.
The
taste
of
the
Masala
is
very
prominent
in
the
aroma
and
the
taste.
The
rice
is
not
separated
from
the
gravy
dish
like
most
biryani,
t
is
made
in
whole
mixture.
The
Amount
of
prawns
is
also
very
accurate
you
can
have
1
piece
of
prawns
in
every
bite.
Time
to
feed
the
sweet
tooth,
I
had
the
Mango
Panna
Cotta.
This
was
very
nice,
A
little
creamy
yet
light
to
taste.
The
preparation
was
like
a
Caramel
cluster
but
with
a
mango
base.
The
top
was
also
garnished
with
small
cuts
of
mangoes.
A
must
try
dish
to
complete
your
journey
to
this
Place.
Along
with
all
the
dishes
I
had
one
of
their
signature
drinks
i.e.
Holy
tonic.
This
is
a
vodka
based
drink
made
in
coconut
water
which
is
served
in
Coconut
itself.
The
drink
was
slightly
sweet
to
taste
due
to
the
coconut
water
but
the
best
part
about
the
drink
was
that
the
taste
of
the
drink
kept
on
changing
every
2
mins.
Overall,
I
would
say
a
must
visit
place.
You
can
go
to
this
place
with
your
friends
and
Family
to
have
a
nice
time.
