I absolutely loved the food and ambience here. The staff was pretty responsive and caring. Classic Mushroom on Khari and Tava Paneer masala were to die for. Everything deserved 10 stars except the berry pulao. That ruined the good taste explosions that were going on in my mouth. Will go there again for sure.

Soda Bottle OpenerWala located at BKC is an iconic place. The wonderful ambience, splendid atmosphere and splendid food make for a sensational experience. Chilli Cheese Pav Fluffy toasted wheat bran pav, topped with homemade tomato sauce, lots of cheese and green chilli. A wonderful combination and quite tasty. Mushroom on Khari Dried puffed biscuit or as we call khari topped with a paste of mushroom and cheese. Absolutely splendid and yummy to say the least. Besides, we also had chicken sandwiches which are a fine treat. We wanted to try the breakfast menu but that wasn't available during the evening time. The staff is well mannered and their food is nice. A bit on the expensive side but the ambience is worth it.

Went on a Wednesday night, there was live music. Wonderful atmosphere, good and hot food, the beverages were absolutely amazing and I myself ordered the raspberry soda twice! The band was a also great and the wait was not too long. We enjoyed ourselves. I also tried the chocolate mousse. It was nice, but I've certainly had better. The khari pizza was an interesting order.

If you want to try authentic Parsi food, do come here because you’ll fall in love with the cuisine. The food, from starters, to desserts, will give you an essence of Parsi food. The ambiance is amazing and retro, and the service is wonderful. The servers have a good knowledge of the cuisine so even if you’re new, you will definitely have a good time. You have to try their desserts, though it was a bit sweet for my taste, but definitely try it for the experience. Must try: Dhansak, Veg Berry Pulao, Alo Aunty Veg Cutlet, Paneer Popcorn.

A place with absolutely chill vibes, relaxing old school music and lip smacking parsi food is none other that Soda Bottle Opener Wala We happen to be here on a weekday yet the resteraunt was packed , to begin with we ordered mocktails that is Summer Masala Lemonade and Sekanji both were very refreshing ,next for the starters we ordered Smoked Chicken Cutlets which came with Mint Chutney ,the smoky flavour made the cutlet even tastier totally recommended ,next we had Akuri on Toast which tasted like regular bhurji pav and lastly for dessert we had Apple Pie with Custard though the pie was amazing it had on over bearing cinnamon flavour nevertheless still tasty Overall this place is amazing for a quick catchup with friends or for a relaxing brunch

Parsi cuisine..tasty! Many Parsi food lovers in our country and one of them is my husband! This joint has many chains! Authentic Parsi style food is served in a very cool ambience! It mentions all famous Parsi personalities and well known names of Parsi joints and items in its walls..it has a bar as well as a dessert section of old style like that seen in B Merwans..with those typical glass jars of biscuits and cakes! We tasted the Fish Koliwada, Banta Soda, Mutton keema paav and Patra ni Machhi( green stuffed steamed pomfret in a banana leaf)! All items were super delicious! We wanted to try bun maska and sandwiches but we were already full! This restaurant is highly recommended especially for Parsi food lovers! All born and brought up in a Parsi area like Nana chowk & Parsi colong can very well connect with this place and its vibe! Its a must try!!

Embarked on a memorable culinary journey at SodaBottleOpenerWala in BKC. The ambiance was vibrant, setting the perfect stage for a delightful dining experience. We explored an array of dishes, from the rich and flavorful Mutton Seekh Kebab to the surprisingly delightful Egg Sandwich. The Chicken Bombs added a spicy twist, keeping our taste buds intrigued. Paired with awesome wine, the combination of diverse flavors made each bite a true delight. The crowning glory was the Best Coffee Cake—a sweet conclusion that left us longing for more. The attentive staff and cozy atmosphere further enhanced the overall enjoyment, making this visit a standout gastronomic adventure. SodaBottleOpenerWala in BKC undoubtedly stands as a go-to destination for those seeking a perfect blend of great food, awesome wine, and a vibrant dining ambiance.

Food was too good. The paneer starters were amazing. The chicken farcha was nice. The berry pulao was a hit. We had a good time out. The entertainment was too good as the singer was very easy on the ears. We took a reservation as on weekdays it is full. A nice time was had by all.

Had been to this place during lunch time with my colleagues.. Ambience was good.. The options in veg food very pretty less and when I ordered Panner Masala the taste was also average.. The price of the food was pretty high and portion size was pretty low. It was difficult to find waiter, as overall service was pretty slow. Don't recommend this place to enjoy with your family and friends..

SodaBottleOpenerWala celebrates a concept unique to India; and pays homage to the dying legacy of the wonderful, chaotic, crowded, bustling, colourful, quirky, cluttered, eccentric and real world Bombay Irani café. Designed to look old-world, colonial and humorous, this quintessential Bombay Irani Cafe & Bar, dishes out Parsi fare and culinary gems famous in gymkhanas and the streets of Bombay. Come in thirsty, and the drinks from the Irani Chai Bar will leave you spoilt for choice, as does the Irani Bakery Menu; serving everything freshly baked that morning and sold by the piece.

Great food, some off the beaten path classics such as berry pulao, and salli chicken. Yet some on the beaten path classics like pav bhaji. Good flavors and sumptuous portions. The cocktails like simply imly are truly innovative. The service can be a little sketchy during busy times. Yet one does leaving wanting to come back

Too much hype & hoopla about this Parsi eatery. Honestly my wife makes better Parsi food ( read Dhansak rice) than what this place serves. We had gone to dine in at Soda bottle..and we sat there for close to 3.5 hours & tried a variety of dishes. Let's dive in. ♦️Patra ni macchi. Iconic Parsi dish. Smeared with green chutney..pomfret was fresh. Taste was decent. They serve it with some flavoured rice (3/5) ♦️Spinach cheese par edu ( egg on top - see pic). Again average in taste. ( 2.5/5) ♦️ Bun maska with Irani chai. This was by far the best item. Tuti frutti bun which was quite soft & amul butter generously applied on it. Chai was ok, but goes well with bun maska. (4/5 for bun maska) ♦️ Veg Dhansak with brown rice - another Parsi classic. Dhansak is gravy containing many vegetables with lentil ( tur daal) as the base. Horrible in taste. Very disappointed especially considering the fact that this place serves Parsi food. ( 1.5/5) ♦️In between we guzzled a few beers & also had some dessert ( see pic ) which was decent. All in all a forgettable experience. I had high hopes but I have still not come across a single Parsi eatery which actually serves good Parsi food. And I have tried a few.

Nice place and nice ambience. Thought we will get to eat good food.. but alas! The taste did not suit our taste buds… specially we ordered khari pizza thinking it should be specialty, but we really didn’t like it.. the crust was not not crispy at all.. actually thats the thing which spoilt our mood. Otherwise macroni pasta and sandwich was really very good… My advice ia try dhansak its traditional parsi dish though we wanted but didn’t try it as our mood got spoiled.. mawa cake is specialty and should be good, you can try with tea… again we went for dinner and were not in mood for cakes

Had been to this place for the first time today. Really hip and peppy vibe, with a vibrant and vintage interior. The beverages were top notch, but the "pizza" was more like a puff pastry, so the menu was slightly misleading. But chicken kabab platter is just yummm!! Overall, the food was a treat to look at and have, and this place is a must try for someone just looking to have some fun out. To top it all off, Valet parking is also available.

SodaBottleOpenerWala in BKC is a vibrant celebration of Bombay's Irani cafe culture, capturing the essence of a chaotic yet wonderful world. The old-world colonial design and quirky ambiance set the stage for a culinary journey through Parsi delights. The Irani Chai Bar offers an array of choices, spoiling patrons with options like the Shetty Bar Old Fashioned and Simply Imly. The Pull Apart Chilli Cheese, a fluffy bun stuffed and smothered with thecha butter, is as cheesy as Bollywood pickup lines. Skillet Prawns, slow-cooked in green chili butter, are a definite winner. For mains, Paneer Sanju Baba impresses with its almond-based gravy, while the Braised Lamb Shank with Berry Pulao is a flavorful delight. Cap off the meal with the Rum Chocolate Fondant—flambéed and served with vanilla ice cream—or indulge in the Matunga Coffee Cake, a rich coffee chocolate treat with whisky-caramel sauce. In true Bombay Irani cafe spirit, ordering becomes an amusing affair, as family anecdotes highlight the diverse preferences—from Bun Maska with Sali Mutton to Kanda Bhaji with Prawn Patio. At SodaBottleOpenerWala, it's clear that when it comes to savoring good food, conditions don't apply.

Lovely lovely place. Relaxed vibe with great food and drink. What more do you want? For me , a cocktail lover, the drinks were mixed very well. The service was excellent and people working there smiling and very helpful. Music was from an older era which we loved.

Always loved this place and the vibes you feel there. Perfect place for a small rejoice with your friends. However, not ideal for large groups as the place is based on a Parsi/Irani Cafe theme (usually a table with 4 chairs. The furniture and ambience will make you Nostalgic if you are a 80s/90s guys. And over that the food will make you a big fan of Parsi cuisine. Must have- Classic mutton cutlet, Salli chicken, Chicken berry pulao, Kheema Pao, Palonjis raspberry soda. The only con is the price. More on the expensive side but feels worth at times.

SODA BOTTLE OPENER WALA, BKC The name of this restaurant is just as big as the rates of the dishes here. Just another fancy restaurant working on the model of 'good old days' nostalgia theme by serving simple Parsee delicacies at a very high price. When you taste the food and the quality/quantity of it, it just doesnt add up to the bills in the end. We ordered this fried chicken dish which was just too oily for my taste and too poor in quantity when compared with its price. In terms of ambience, they have tried their best to make it look like a new age restaurant for the millennials, however in the process they have destroyed the old world relaxed and comfortable charm of a typical Parsee cafe. The ambience is just too bright in colors for my taste. Its a one time visit restaurant for a date or just to enjoy the colorful ambience. But thats it. Dont expect value for money food here. In terms of cleanliness & hygiene they have maintained a high rating. Staff is quite polite. You will have a good time here if you want to experiment with Parsee cuisine and dont mind spending a good price for it. One time! Give it a try.

It's at BKC simple and decent place to visit with friends. They serve modern parsi food along with drinks. We had chicken farcha, chicken achari. Both dishes were good in taste. We also had keema macaroni it was good too. Had also ordered the coffee whiskey. It was good but very expensive about 650 for a drink

Food was delicious. Went for lunch with my family couple of weeks ago. It was a weekday, mostly office crowd. The ambience is like an old Parsi Cafe. Service was very prompt when it was not crowded. Try the banta sodas and lang a nu custard ,in dessert. They serve Parsi, Goan, Iranian and some of the Maharashtrian dishes. **There is pay and park next to this place. They have valet parking too , but it gets messy sometimes.

Excellent ambience, helpful staff who can guide u for a good variety of parsi style exclusive... 👌 Of course chicken Darshan, baida Roti chicken, kheema Pav were one of the Best u get around.... For veg the aunty wala cutlet which has 3 big pieces is awesome... 👌 Berry Palava veg is too good in taste & PORTION size.

The place was quiet early evening but soon there was a buzz in the restaurant and two reasons for people to flock in - ambience and food! There are enough options for a veggie and non veggie delight. The must try ones are - khari pizza, paneer poppers, keema pav, rasberry soda! Pork ribs were a tad dry and the Andhra chicken was a bit sour ....but we were very happy with all the food we ordered and smacked off the plates clean!

There are very few Irani restaurants left in Mumbai. This one is one of them. If you want to get the feel of Irani food with Bun Maska with Irani Chai then this is THE place. Nowdays they serve alcohol unlike in the past. We started with Fratelli Chardonnay with Ban Maska, PaneerAkuri Sliders and Veg Cutlet. I know Bun Maska with wine is very odd combination but who cares ? I was eating my favorite Bun Maska almost after 30 yrars. Afterwards we had Veg Dhansak, Tawa Paneer Masala, Aloo Auntey's Veg with Parathas. All the dishes were delicious. In desert we had our old favorite Lagan Nu Custard, 5 Star Brownie and Mawa Cake. What we had was not food, it was more than that. It was like going back in the past and enjoying our younger days. The ambience was very lively and family oriented. We were lucky to get a table on Saturday evening without reservation. By the time we left, it was packed. The price were very reasonable. The service was very polite and friendly thanks to our server Valmik. The decor was typical Irani with all photos and juke box taking you 50 years back in history. Don't miss it...

Although the food is good...the service leaves much to be desired. For a place being run by a reputed Restauranter the quality of service is poor to say the least, without getting into the specifics. Management needs to do an audit of how things are being managed. Will I eat here again...I certainly will because the quality of the food was great. Can you get the same food else where at a lower price and expectedly bad service, of course. That's one reason I wouldn't visit this place again...not to say that the staff isn't courteous but because for the price you are paying you expect service attentiveness and decorum that the staff just don't possess. Oh and don't even get me started on how poorly the place is being managed during Covid times. Zero social distancing on a Sunday. All tables occupied in an enclosed environment with no fresh air. Revising my rating to 2.

Interesting elements of décor, fabulous food and service with a personal touch. The path leading to the restaurant was filled with numerous interesting elements such as swathes of fabric in lovely traditional patterns, replica of a wooden houseboat, statue of a Kathakali dancer, an ornate bicycle, etc. The restaurant had an ethnic and cozy feel with wooden furniture, lanterns, instruments of Indian classical music, etc. For our meal, we'd ordered bhuna ghost, home style vegetable curry, spicy tangy prawns, rice and appams. The food was splendid. The bhuna ghost was cooked to perfection with the mutton well done in a thick and delicious gravy. The home style vegetable curry (naadan curry) was creamy and subtly flavoured. The fresh, soft appams were made at a live counter which the staff set up right next to our table so we could have them hot off the counter. We ended our meal with filter coffee, which was milky and yet had a robust flavour without being bitter. The food was served on banana leaves cut to size and placed in each plate, which isn't a common sight. The staff encouraged to use our fingers and eat in the traditional Indian way. They even brought a bowl full of warm water to the table to help us wash our hands just before the meal even though they had given us sanitiser when we'd entered. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing or intrusive in any way. Bachan, the restaurant incharge, was constantly around to make sure everything was in place and that we had a good time. Chef Bala graciously came over to our table to answer questions we had about options in the menu, help us with recommendations and understand any requests for customisation. From getting beverages on the table within minutes of being seated to bringing a washing bowl over to the table and always being around to serve helpings, Rahul (the staff member serving us) managed everything so promptly and efficiently that we never had to ask him for anything Taking plenty of photographs, relishing the food and being pampered by the staff, we truly enjoyed ourselves. The food was fantastic and the staff made our experience even better with their attention to detail as well as their warm behaviour.
