House of Mandarin is my favorite restaurant. My first visit was at the place in Pune which is located at the Sheraton. There are also many times that I have ordered food online from their Powai place in Mumbai. The quantities for the price is just excellent. And all their food is very tasty. This was my first visit to their Powai outlet though I have ordered online many times from them. The place is very spacious and the staff very friendly and helpful. We had the spicy crabmeat soup which is excellent and my favorite, Wok Tossed Chicken with Dried Red Chillies, Sesame Prawn Toast, Mandarin Fried Rice in Lotus Leaves, Lamb in Red Chilly Oil and Spring Onion and their Sticky Toffee Pudding with Caramel Sauce Vanilla Ice cream and Candied Ginger. The food was simply outstanding. Not to forget their staff who were always cheerful and ever ready to help you with their recommendations on what would be good depending on what kind of food you were looking at. A must visit place if you have not yet tried it out.

Very spacious and fine dining ambience makes the place appear better than most Asian restaurants. We ordered two starters pork rolls and chicken drumsticks- both we good. Main course was Hakka noodles, red snapper, purple rice and pepper chicken - delicious taste across all the items. They helped us with extra gravy as well. Only disappointment was that the server dint have much knowledge of the menu, so we had to wait for the manager to come and clarify our questions.

The restaurant has a nice location, lovely decor, nice ambience and enough space. Valet parking is available. Appetisers were good. Taste of the main course was good. Belgian chocolate with Mandarin dome in dessert tasted just okay. Many of the dishes mentioned in the menu were not available during the lunch time.

We went for dinner. Nice ambience and great staff. Tapu served us and guided us in each step. We had dumplings, soup, famous purple rice and prawn noodles (authentic Japanese) . Portion size is good enough. And food was amazing. Overall a great place to have asian and specially Japanese.

Powai has a plethora of options to select from and after a lot of debate on where to go we chose house of mandarin for a girls lunch out. It’s a huge place so there was plenty of space on walk in on a Friday for lunch. We got a nice corner table and started with sushi. Very well made and a few suggestions were also great by the waiter. We ordered a few more starters, all were very good. We need to go back to eat the main course!

Fantastic food! We always order delivery on swiggy from this place. Since life is restarting decided to pay the restaurant a visit. Fantastic server and overall the staff was super attentive and nice and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Protocol for Covid are being followed.. One can see how the hospitality industry has been affected in these troubled times and we should do our little bit in helping good businesses restart and survive. Great food like always !! We ordered the same stuff we always order on delivery and loved it - super warm and fresh off the kitchen. Highly recommended to pay a visit. Only gripe is the bar next door was super loud !!!

After that ordered drinks .. it was all okay .. But then we ordered food also with drinks ... It cam like after half and hour - 45minutes. Very much disappointed... Service was too slow... Only one or two waiter was looking after 10 table i guess ... We keep on asking when food will come they will say ma'am 5 minutes 10 minutes ... Food was all ok ... Not that great ... A much awaited visited to the House of Mandarin to get a pinch of some Chinese food. It was a fulfilling experience and here's what all we had. Smoky Salt n Pepper Chicken This dish combines chicken with the simple flavors of salt, black, and garlic powder with the essence of smoke. Wok Tossed Chicken Dried Dried chicken wok tossed is extra crunchy and more like a sophisticated version of kung pao. It's smokier, spicier and tasty at every bite. Salt and Pepper Prawns Prawns abbreviated for salt, pepper, and garlic, very tasty and crispy. Shrimp Tempura Maki Roll (Recommended) Delicious and tasty Sushi Rice Trolled with Tempura Shrimp. Its loaded with crispy fried shrimp tempura and tons of delicious fillings. Dumplings - Pan Fried Chicken Gyoza Juicy on the inside, crispy and golden brown on the outside, these Japanese pan-fried dumplings, Gyoza which consist of delicious chicken fillings with some tender soft cover wrapped around it. Chicken Firecracker Rice (with Sliced Chicken Soya Chilli) The sweet and spicy sticky firecracker chicken rice is a delicious combination with some sliced chicken soya chilli. Also, the quantity served is quite good. Seven Texture Hazelnut (Recommended) Hot chocolate poured upon seven textured chocolate mousse which is absolutely tempting and fulfills your cravings. The taste is heavenly and you'll surely not regret. Alongside all the food items we also had Raspberry Fizz and Very Berry Khatta as refreshments. House of Mandarin is a spectacular restaurant where you can immerse yourself in some authentic Chinese cuisine. They boast of a wide variety of starters and have a wonderful ambience. The staff was quite courteous and helpful with the menu. Look forward to visiting again

This is a great option for Indian Chinese food if you're in Hiranandani or Powai. Its location is next to a few other joints so if you change your mind, there are always other options. They have valet parking here which is charged. The interiors feel cozy despite the spacious premises. Giant bells suspended from the ceiling with lights in them are the highlight of the decor. The waiters were courteous and friendly. We ordered: 1. Coriander Soup: This turned out to be a lot more than just coriander soup with corn, carrot and mushroom pieces. It was an excellent soup, nevertheless. 2. Potato Toast with Sesame Seeds: A superb option with a twist if you love potato starters. The idea to toast one on side and have sesame seeds on the other side of a potato dumpling landed a winner for me. 3. Stir Fried Hakka Noodles: This was our main course. Done well, nothing to complain. My wife and I shared this and still ended up with a residual amount for takeaway. The quantity is more than sufficient for 2. 4. Aubergine in Hot, Garlic Sauce: Our accompaniment for the Noodles. The hot, garlic sauce does end up overpowering the aubergine a wee bit but it wasn't a major detractor for me.

Decent Indianised Chinese food. Good spread out Seating and Ambience, but poor sound proofing makes it bad during the evening because of the mind boggling decibels generated by the pubs around it in the same building. Service is Slow but courteous. Overall an okay experience.

House of Mandarin has recently launched a Japanese menu both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. We started with a fantastic sesame spinach salad. Quite unusual and unique but delicious. Tempura brie.. crunchy and cheesy ofcourse. It said served with plum sauce but was served with a Thai sweet chilli sauce. Signature sushi.. avocado, Tempura bokchoy... Very flavorful. We loved it. However the avocado was missing. Aburi, Torched brie and sweet shiitake sushi.. quite good. Udon noodles in black pepper sauce. It was good. A little overcooked but still good. Tofu teriyaki son, you can skip this dish and try the katsu curry or ramen instead. It was high on salt and honestly a total miss for me. The mocktails could be better. Cocktails are decent. Overall decent but the service was super slow. Would love to try their regular menu.

Spacious , well lit and cozy place for fine dine Chinese cuisine. The menu card was clean and options are plenty . The dim sums were good and the chicken stir fry was just the best . The main course selection - egg fried rice , pan fried noodles , lamb stir fry was tasty (less greesy so loved it ) . Will visit the place soon . Thanks for the complimentary chocolate mousse :)

Only been tobthe Bandra outlet. But Powai was equally good. Akshay was thorough, courteous and very helpful with suggestions. Had the turnip cake, the crispy prawn Cheung fun, the soft noodles with veggies in Cantonese sauce with mapo tofu. All dishes, absolutely lip smackingly delicious. One of my favourite Chinese restaurants! Must visit again!

Somehow I felt that while their rice was exceptional the dimsums had thick unpalatable coatings..and all their main courses had overbearing sauces. Maybe I need to talk to their chef...this felt less Mandarin and more Desi Chineeeej

Located in the 1st floor of Delphi building and thus Valet parking is available. However, please keep at least a 10 mins waiting on the way out to get your vehicle back. Once on the first floor it is quite easy to find the restaurant but equally confusing to figure out the entrance. Thus please do not hesitate to ask. Once inside the restaurant the decor and ambiance will catch your attention and it provided me a sense of entering a 5 star Pagoda. The staff was very polite and helpful and helped us with suggestions. Ladies, if you are reading this review please note that there is special Lunch Menu which costs ₹1095( All inclusive) on every Monday to Fridays. I have uploaded a picture of the menu for your perusal I also loved the plates in which food were served. Reminded me of my childhood when I used to pour indigo on water resulting in the blue colour travelling in water. The design was similar and brought about a sense of nostalgia for me. Since we were very hungry we straight ordered our main course. To ensure we can chat uninterrupted it was necessary to keep our throat wet. Thus I ordered a Pint while my friend ordered a Cranberry Kiss. The main course arrived soon. We ordered Burnt Garlic rice( may favourite) and to go with it was Vegetable in Hunan Sauce and for me was Sliced Red Snapper in black sauce. I would surely recommend it as the sheer mention of it have started to water my mouth. I would surely want to come back some other time when I have quite some time to spend on leisure and can have at least a 3 course meal. If you love Oriental then this is surely a must visit place if you are in Powai

The service will leave you pleased ..the food can do better... turnip cakes at this place get a thums up , not so for the chicken gyoza...they might as well be the frozen kind you'd whip up at home...the main course was better with firecracker rice and Kung pao chicken . I hope this was a one off days as I loved my previous experience at this place.

I really liked the food there, forgot to jot down the name but one of the dishes had black bean sauce in it which I really liked. The chicken gyoza dumplings were amazing so we're the mushroom chicken buns however both the dumplings and buns were just enough for one person as the quantity was really less. On the other hand the pan fried noodles were nice and simple to taste but enough for four of us at the table. Not a huge fan of the tempura prawn sushi roll, it was definitely fresh but I personally didn't really care for the mango salsa taste added to it. Overall it was a great experience and I'm definitely gonna visit again.

The quality of food taste wise was not too great. While 1 dish was a overdose of sauces the other was so dry. Chinese in mainland China and China Valley..both in powai are far superior and value for money.

One of the finest place in Powai for authentic Asian Cuisine.! We ordered our lunch from this place, I was really impressed with the packaging.! Tamperproof, Leakproof and perfect packaging I would say.! Food was delivered hot and with all the safety measures in place. Our lunch included, corn & water chestnut dumplings, Avocado roll, firecracker rice, tofu in ginger garlic sauce and a chocolate pastry. I could easily figure out that everything was prepared with fresh and high-quality ingredients. I really liked the aroma and taste of each and every dish. I would say this is perfect place to satisfy your asian food cravings. Dumplings, they were perfectly steamed. Soft outer shell, fantastic presentation and stuffed with juicy water chestnuts, corns and apt spices. Avocado Sushi roll - once again, presentation was fabulous. Sushi rolls stuffed and topped with lots of Avocado.! This is definitely a heavenly experience for all sushi lovers.! Firecracker Rice - spicy, loaded with exotic veggies, well cooked rice with perfect texture and test. Portion size was good enough for 4. Can be paired with any gravy or can be eaten as it is.! Tofu in Soya Chilli Garlic - super fresh tofu chunks placed in a perfect consistency soya garlic sauce along with some more herbs and spices. Bit on Spicer side. Can be clubbed with any rice. Strong garlic taste and aroma. Definitely a good option for people who love spicy options. Chocolate Pastry - melt in mouth, three Layered chocolate pastry was so fresh and delicious. I would definitely order my desserts from this place. We highly recommend pastries from this place. Overall, it was excellent Asian cuisine experience. Food was derived hot and was having a great taste and superior quality. We really enjoyed our meal from this place.

House of Mandarin Powai was good. Its located in the same building where other restaurants are on same floor. Ordered multiple dishes in vegetarian. The food was authentic and the taste was much better compared to some of the chinese restaurants Shahid and Rahul were very good In service and could understand our ordering according to the family choice. Must visit.. The dumplings, sushi, lotus rice was too good Desert of raspberry with chocolate mousse was excellent must visit. Its reasonable priced and for a party of 8 people doesn't cost more than 6000.

If you are looking for Chic decor with pleasing music and fabulous pan Asian food then House of Mandarin is the right spot you should walk into. The decor is super with the lights being inspired from the classic Chinese bell and bong adding in the special traditional touch. With the lighting and the decor one can definitely have a relaxed fine dining experience here with the best of fine pan asian dishes. The staff here is super quick with their service , suggest you the best dishes that would suit your palate the best according to options you like. Do go with their suggestions since they can never go wrong. The service is clean, quick and on time . The staff here makes you feel like home making sure you are enjoying your meal to the fullest and make sure you move happy from here. Must try would be -Cocktails 1.Classic Margarita- Tequila and orange based classic cocktail its a must try if you are fan of these two. Gives a good strong hit of tequila in every sip so sure you are going to enjoy. 2.Mimosa - Wine lovers this is one the posh cocktail you shouldnt miss. 3.Old fashioned - Classic whiskey lovers old fashioned with orange peel extracts a drink to enjoy slowly and at the best ease. 4.White sangria - White wine lovers this drink needs to introduction by far the best sangria I have ever had. - DIMSUM 1-Chicken chilli oil dumpling- One of the most colorful Chicken chili oil dumpling i have ever come across. The chicken filling is juicy, chewy with a touch of spice hitting you right .The filling is inside is very gracious in every proportions in each dumpling. Best has with chilli oil on top. 2-Vegetable & Chive Dumpling - Juicy, crunchy veggie filling inside with the refreshing flavor of Chives making it have a bit of a smoked flavor but blend in well to give with crunchy touch to the dim sum. -SUSHI 1-Spicy salmon roll- Classic Maki roll , with spicy mayo with fresh cut salmon, cucumber as filling served with a mango sauce , along with nori wrapped inside with touch of sesame seeds , topped with spicy mayo on top with truffles. 2- Crab Gunkan- Heads up to my Favorite dish from house of mandarin. Nori wrapped with fresh crab meat , with spicy mayo , gunkan , yuzu mayo, water chestnut , and tobiko and must say the dish is so well put in with the loads of flavors coming in together giving in the juicy and spicy blend of flavors making its a sheer joy to enjoy. -CHEUNG FUN 1-Crispy prawn cheung fun - One of the most juiciest Cheung fun i have had. Juicy prawns deep fried with a crunchy coating covered in the rice batter just blends in so well that you are going to love the crispiness and the softness in the dish together . -APPETIZER 1-Wok toss chicken fried red chilli- classic appetizer with chicken tossed in soy , spring onions and chillies having a tangy and spicy touch to the dish. -MAINCOURSE 1-stir fried hakka noodles - the best part of the hakka noodles its purely oil free. No too much oil in the stir fried hakka noodles. Love the proportions great enough of two heavy eaters. And has subtle and mild flavors of the wok hit stir fry to the noodles. 2-Wok toss chicken in chilli black bean sauce - one of the best sides you can go with hakka noodles , is black bean sauce chicken. Soft chicken with bell peppers and pepper cooked in black bean sauce. -DESSERTS 1- Seven texture hazelnut mousse cake- One of the best dessert with the hazelnut being given importance to the max!! The 7 layers are so well put in with brownie , mousse , and dark chocolate on the top and cherry on the dessert is the chocolate sauce making the dish have a whole different touch to the mousse cake. Totally loved the experience at House of Mandarin for its authenticity in each dish and each ingredient being well put in every dish. So glad to meet the chef himself to ask about the experience of the food giving it a very homie feel to the experience . Special mentions to Shahid and Amrendra for brining us the best fine dine experience here. Over all food, taste, safety, portions, quality , ambiance, staff, music a full 10/10 ❤️.
