It's a casual dining located at Chandivali, Andheri East. It specializes in South Indian cuisine. The food served here never fails to impress its diners. The cost for two is 350 which is economical. There are very few good restaurants near Boomerang and Oberoi Garden. Thambi is one of a good option. Recommended.

Average place for south indian food. I ordered uttapam, medu vada, Mysore masala dosa and filter coffee. The vada was cold and tasted a bit stale. However other items tasted alright.

Thambbi is known for his good quality food. I tried it the first time. I had Ragi Sada Dosa. They made it in ghee. The packaging was perfect. I received Sambhar, chutney, and dosa in separate packs. everything was in place. no spill. The taste was good. Sambhar was not hot but fresh. Quantity was enough for one.

You should definitely go here and try here paper masala dhosa and panner dishes are soo good...❤❤

Nice place in Chandivali near boomerang to have morning breakfast, they have a lot of break options in regular and Andhra style. Their chutneys are fresh and tastes yummy.

The Southindian food we ordered was terrible. None of them tasted real, very poor quality taste and guess what, we found a copper wire in the tatte idli we ordered. The filter coffee had too much decaution.

I love food from Thambi, but this outlet in particular is poor in terms of - 1. Service 2. Cleanliness 3. Staff attitude We ordered for a south indian thali at lunch hour, they took almost 30 mins to get the order. Almost every table was waiting for their orders for 20mins or so including ones who called for coffee. There was some fight going on between the kitchen and serving staff, extremely loud and noisy. The staff who takes the order is not available most of the times in the restaurant floor for customers. The thali served to us, had one item less, upon asking the staff he rudely informed us that the menu was changed starting today. Food served was good, however, will not visit this outlet again.

Punjabi thali is good. Quantity is also pretty good. Gulab jamun is too good. Very tasty

Good food at afforable prices. A decent family restaurant with A/C. Food was good both in terms of quality and quantity. The place is a little short staffed which makes the service slow. They charge 30/- for extra cheese and do justice.

*Thambbi- below average food outlet* Bad Filter coffee ~ extremely sweet. Rava Onion Dosa was ordinary. Dosa was wrapped in silver foil so was the filter coffee. Accompaniment Sambar was thin with zero veggies. One coconut chutney served watert with no south indian tadka. The packaging was awful made the food cold.

The only decent place to enjoy good quality food and service near boomerang and Oberoi Tower . During lunch time it's almost full all the time but service is good . You don't have to wait much . They also accept all type payments like card dineout pay etc.

Went for Dinner alone. Ordered Poori Chole. The order was served hot but the puri was in a very bad state. It was crusty and not soft. Refer images. I didnt expect this from a reputed hotel like Thambbi. Even the Chola was not that great. Very bad experience. (To be noted the price for 4 Poori and Chole is 109 at Restaurant and For 5 Poori and Sabzi its 96 On Swiggy, ofcoz they add delivery charges still) Apart from that the hotel is clean and tidy.

Horrible food ...i had ordered chinese food from thambi and i had to trash it all at once so please don't get dragged with its rating ... that is the worse place to order food from.

However, name of the hotel, being south Indian does not justify in comparison with food taste. The authentic southern state food quality and taste is feels to be missing. Being chain of Thambi hotels The menu card needs to be revisited.

Okay place. I don't know the reason but they kept all the fans off for the tables the entire time we were there only the cashier table fan was on. We were with kids and even though after making a request to put the fans on they ignored us. So it was inconvenient. Food was okay. But I would say a normal udipi restuarant is better than This center of Thambi which is a brand.

The name makes us feel that it is an authentic South Indian restaurant but it is just a mediocre one. All dishes are basic in taste. I can say it is a better option than small Udupi restaurant, that's it. Don't go with high expectations.

Visited thambbi, This restaurant is a box of delicious South Indian dishes. This is a perfect place for lunch and breakfast with our family and friends. Hospitality was very good and staff was friendly. There are varieties of dosa's available. Which are very tasty. I liked the filter coffee it was amazing. I ordered, masala dosa which was crispy and nice in taste. Mini idli, medu wada and sabudana wada. I also ordered choley puri served with pickle and 5 puris. I really enjoyed the food. Overall, an amazing experience.

I am writing this review sitting in the hotel right now I ordered idli sambhar 1st coconut chatni was good but i order the same chutney 2nd time i was yukks that chutney was full of froth (kharab hone k baad jo jaag dikhta hai)and sour in taste. The Chandivali area has very few options when it comes to decent vegetarian restaurants. We were visiting Chandivali recently in the morning and had a hard time finding a good place for breakfast. Luckily, we found Thambi! Thambi is a fair option considering that not many food joints are available in the vicinity. It offers good options of South Indian and Punjabi dishes. I was actually surprised to see Sabudana Vada listed in the menu, although I preferred South Indian items considering the restaurant's speciality. The ambience is okay, service is good and food quality as well as quantity.

Ordered on swiggy, delivery boy's bike broke down. I know the restaurant need not take responsibility of the delivery but some initiative from them was expected to have it delivered asap after this incident. They could have dunzo'ed it as the food was still in their restaurant for over an hour. This goes to show the care-less attitute of the management/staff.

Thambi is one of the favourite place near our office we take our guest for any vegetarian food options. Very well laid out tables, fast service and all South Indian dish available. There are two thali dish also which is most popular amongst the South Indian dishes. Nice quiet ambience. If you plan during office time get your guest early by 1240 else then there would be rush of regular customers.

As Always Thambi known for very good food especially South Indian Food, Lunch Thali also available in some options. Location in front of Boomerang Building in Chandivali, here mostly working crowed comes. Sharply closes at 11 PM in night. Accepts All kinds of payments. Always recommended for good vegetarian meals.

The taste of the food was like a roadside stall. Earlier the taste was good. But now it has changed a lot. The price was also too much.

Food was too salty and cold. Inattentive waiters. Very cold atmosphere. Slow service. Filter coffee was sour. Not an experience I was expecting. Won’t be coming back here again.
