The Sangham came into existence way back in the year 1969 under the name and style of AALPANAKAVU DURGA DEVI TEMPLE. It was started by few devotees, who had constructed a small temple of β€œGODESS DURGA DEVI” and thereafter number of devotees increased considerably day-by-day. On seeing the spiritual progress of the Temple day by day with offering of Poojas, one Ayyappa Seva Sangham, Sakonaka, who used to perform Makaravilakku Pooja celebrations 1973 approached Durgadevi Temple sangham and both the parties decided to make a common platform for performing Pooja Festivals. Accordingly, from 1983 onwards started performing Poojas under the banner of AALPANAKAVU TEMPLE SANGHAM CHARITABLE SOCIETY and registered it with Charity Commissioner, Mumbai. Thereafter the sangham has built four temples for Shri Ganesh, Shri Dharma Sastha, Godess Durga Devi and Nagraja at the donated premises. These temples are a loving emblem in the living mind of the great humanity in the north-eastern part of this Great Metropolis. Daily Poojas starting from 5 am to 10 am and 5 pm to 9 pm areperformed by expert Brahmins. This Sangham has completed 30th Mandala Pooja Makaravialkku festivals. Makaravilakku Festivals are regularly celebrated on 14th January every year with grand procession of Lord Ayyappa and colourful traditional cultural programmes. By the grace of the Deities and with restless efforts of each and every member devotees, who have been working day and night and the cooperation of well wishers and Ayyappa devotees in and around of the Metropolis by way of cash and kind we could construct a new temple for Amme Devi Narayana, Maha ganapathy and Nagaraja and the Puna Prathishta of the deities have done on 7th July, 2001. All Ayyappa devotees, irrespective of cast, and creed contributed generously to the fund raising occasion, which stationed us to the present appreciable position. This temple is open for all.
