A very beautiful view of the Arabian Sea! The fort looks huge from outside. Sadly the fort was locked, we couldn't get inside. The area is blocked by the Air Force station. So you might not have open access here.

Fort is not opened for visitors this is what local Public informed us, you can see some part of it from the temple area which is near the sea. The fort looks too old, as its under Airforce now its not allowed to travel. But you have shore where you can sit and spend sometime with the sound of waves of the sea. Its sunny during afternoons. there is a Beautiful Shiva temple to visit and some rocky area good to take pictures. Its near from Aksa beach

The oldest landmark I know near Andheri. From versova jetty it takes 5 mins in a boat to reach madh jetty then from there you can take a Rick or if you are going by bike then great. Pay rs50 for 1 side jetty fare with 2 individuals and 1 bike. It will take another 5 to 10 mins to reach this location. Overall this location is good, you can over see the Andheri, juhu, bandra and even the worli sea link from this point. The fort is not open for tourists or locals, it's acquired by the Indian airforce and has their camps inside, so one can only view the Killa from outside and cannot enter. There is this very old Shiv Mandir one can visit. Which is really peaceful. Overall it's a good place to chill with friends on weekends. ⚠️⚠️But be careful as the cops visit this place frequently.

It's an amazing place to chill n hangout with our close ones but it's not maintained at all also it's very far. One needs to travel a lot to reach there n also the fort has no government attention due to which it has no maintenance. Also I feel it's very dangerous n not safe because there r many buglers in that area. So many people come here especially to drink

The best part of going to this place is the approach road that gets so green and serene during monsoon. I expected the fort and beach to be well maintained but was disappointed. Guess this place is accessed by the fishermen, as I saw nets & boats all around. But it's a good get-off as I didn't see a lot of people around. It's best to go during the daytime as the place doesn't look safe to go during the dark hours.

Madh Fort is a small fort in northern Mumbai, India situated at Madh Island. It was built by the Portuguese in Portuguese occupied India. They lost it during the war against Maratha empire when the Maratha Empire captured it in February 1739. The British occupied Salsette Island, Thana Fort, Fort Versova, and the island fort of Karanja in 1774. It is secluded and difficult to reach, about 15 kilometres (9 mi) from Malad and is the last stop on route 271 of BEST bus service or via Versova by ferry boat. It is situated south of Madh village. It is around a 2 km walk from Madh Mandir bus stop. The fort was built by the Portuguese, as a watchtower in the 17th century. It offers a strategic view of the coastline and guards the Marve Creek. Its external façade is intact but internally it is dilapidated. It is under control of the Indian Air Force as it is located close to an Indian Air Force base and permission is needed for accessing it. Madh Fort is not open to the public, and it is surrounded by local fishermen communities.

Nice place situated just few kilometers away from the busy city streets. However, infrastructure wise it is not so good. Technically, one of those places from where you can view the maximum western mumbai shoreline. Government could have improved it a bit more had the local fishermen community aligned more towards development rather their business conveniences.

One of the oldest coastal fort of mumbai. Currently under naval base so won't be able to see from inside due to security reasons. Historical monument of mumbai which very few people know about it.

Madh Fort is located right at the corner of Madh Island. But it's now under Indian Air Force so one can't enter this fort as a tourist. However Fort looks magnificent from the Madh shore. We have explored this Fort by entering from the sea side. It's a classic point to enjoy sunrise in the morning as well as sunset in evening. Few people also come to do fishing in the nearby areas of this Fort.

Good peaceful place to spend your evening, but the place smells of dried fish most times. Also, you would often find small groups of guys having liquor by the rocks.

This is a small fort at the end of Madh, We visit here very frequently and beside this fort is a small temple of Lord Shiva known as Killeshwar Mahadev Temple" known and famous for temple first and later for this fort. It is most peaceful place in Mumbai to visit. One can travel from Marve road towards Dana Pani and go along the route to the end, even public transport like BEST bus is available to visit here..

In Northern Mumbai, lies a small stretch of land that is cut off from the mainland known as Madh Island. If you are in Mumbai and want to unwind from the stress of urban life, then Madh Island is the best place to stay. Easily accessible through multiple transportations such as car, bus and train, this tiny island has some of the best resorts in Malad and is a major tourist destination. Most tourists visit Madh Island to check out Madh Fort. Let's learn about its history and what you can do over there.

We travelled from Thane, Manpada - Waghbil. Over-all experience was amazing, stress-buster personally 😁😌 coz we guys love riding. Season of monsoon added its magic to our journey. Just because we visited this area during Ganesh Festival, we were not* allowed to visit nearby beaches. Yet we found this Madh Fort. Altogetherly we Enjoyed that day ✨

It's amazing fort area. It's very far and isolated. Getting there is itself a herculean task. But it's worth it. In Mumbai area, you have a place like this. For those looking for some change in routine urban life, here is a small gate away. Recommended, definitely

The Portuguese built Madh Fort, or Versova Fort, as a watchtower during the 17th century. However, the Portuguese lost this fort to the Marathas in the 1739 war. It stands proudly on the Madh Island, close to the Aksa Beach in Mumbai. This fort comes under the jurisdiction of the Air Force. The fort needs maintenance and conservation.

The beach near the fort is for fishing and the dirty smell of fishes is prominent. You need to traverse over the stones near the fort and go left a bit from the fishing beach to get to a good spot to hang out. There are no restrictions on playing music, drinking or smoking on the stones near the beach. (As it seemed) Many people came in groups and were just hanging out on the stones playing loud music and drinking. You can go there to chill out but it is a bit dirty. There is also a temple near the fort.

This fort is on the beach with Malad Creek. Having good fortification, 9 bastions, 2 gates and some ruins. It was built by the Portuguese. They lost it during the war against Maratha empire when the Maratha Empire captured it in February 1739. Today, this fort is under the control of the Indian Air Force and not permitted to any civilian inside.
