Maharashtra Nature Park (formerly commonly known as Mahim/Dharavi Nature Park) is a beautiful manmade forest in the midst of the city. You can reach here from Sion railway station (walking-12min). A well-maintained nature park with Information centre, amphitheatre. Affordable entry tickets. Ideal place for nature lovers or simply sending time in the calm, amid the chaos in the city. Recommended for college & school students for studying biodiversity. It has a butterfly garden, astral garden, medicinal plant garden apart from the main jungle trail. Also you can buy a variety of saplings at nominal prices from the nursery here.

Mumbai being a mega city brings chaos also along with other many positive things.. and this Amazing park will help you to throw that chaos out in the wind of this Lovely Park..So take a deep Breath full of pure oxygen to fill your starved lungs. Got tempted...Well you better be.. This is the place to help you unwind with your frndz n family while learning something amazing about Nature, You start with a ticket bought from a very neat n clean Govt. Office ( Surprised..!!) ticket cost ₹20/person & ₹30/Vehicle if you prefer your own driving in Mumbai's frustrating traffic. There's a Toilet/Amphitheater/Creativity zone..right in the office Complex/building. Once you are out in the Open..simply follow the Trail (Nature's)...will take you via a lake n a Mithi River (Sore)view..cause you can still see the garbage flowing...though cleaning it SO MANY TIMES Back to the Nature's trail... Just keep following will see many different variety of trees but mostly like Banyan type n Bamboo. If you are lucky then may be you can see some naughty Squirrel or lovely Bird and...and Snake tòó. There's a nursery here selling any Plant with a bata rate ₹20/plant... Go for it..reorganize your Balcony space to place them right there. But overall...you will enjoy only...if you have a soft corner for Nature...otherwise there's nothing to keep you engaged...you may be dejected..cause all those Trees..you can see at #BorivaliNationalPark too or any park as a matter of fact... Don't take the wrong impression here..it's a simple question of one's liking. Though i think authority can do a lot of things to make it more interesting n tempting... Let's start by saying that... Did you really knew that a park like this even existed in Mumbai... Well i didn't... Only came to know when my Better half (a Professor) tòók her students for a study tour here.. n by the way..you have to pay ₹500/tour/group. So enjoy the Nature though ...there's a lot of scope to improve n make it truly Amazing experience for the kids in you.. Well...don't forget to take a peek at the Pics n video...which shows..i did have a good time here. *24th Nov 2022

A place to relax your mind... What is there to watch... Main attraction is lot of variety of Butterflies. Take camera with you and you will forget time. There is little pond, where you will see turtle, snakes.. Be aware of snakes freely roaming in the area. Wear full ankle shoes and watch your steps. A small trail. This place is located near Bandra creek, so you can watch lot of waders, but you have bear smell. Do not go far way, as lot of druggist will be there in remote part. How to Go: you can get down at Sion station..it is walking distance from this station. If you going by road, it is near to Dharavi Bus Depot. There is no parking facility Timing: starts at 8:30 in morning to 15:30...little late if you want watch birds... However you can coordinate with their admin on email id if you want to enter early. Entry fee: last time we visited, it was around 20/-.. Camera charges 100 INR... What to wear : as usual wear full sleeve cloths with ankle length shoes.

The beauty of this park is unmatched. It has a nature trail, butterfly park, amphitheatre, nursery and a lake. It is in the middle of a bustling area. An ex garbage ground! Parking is available at Gate 3 (first gate when you turn from LBS road) Plants at the nursery are all prices at 20 bucks. Some of these plants are available outside for 400 bucks! One can easily spend 2-3 hours here.

A green oasis in the middle of the city. This is difficult to locate as it is difficult to believe that it could be near Dharavi. Luckily it has not fallen prey to the builder and BMC mafia. Entry ticket is not very steep and good to get children. Timing up to 3.30 pm. Rainy season is the best to visit. Unfortunately as we don’t know to respect our rivers the mithi is seen and stinks in some areas. It would have been a great asset to the city had the riverfront been maintained. There is a small nursery as well which you get good cheap saplings.

Maharashtra lies just south of Gujarat. Mumbai is the capital of the state. Marathi is the main language of the people, though they also speak konkani. Mumbai is the largest seaport of India. The city is also an important centre for trade and industrial. In Maharashtra, many types of crops, vegetables and fruits are grown. Large deposit of petroleum are expected from the sea bed Called Mumbai High. Mumbai have many parks....

Wonderful place, it’s great to see what the government can do when they put their mind to it. A dumping ground transformed into a beautiful park. The nature interpreters are really knowledgeable and enthusiastic, the office staff are polite, helpful, supportive, enthusiastic and really interested in popularising the place, they have a corporate mentality and attitude, not at all what one would expect government officials to be. A great place to go to for some excellent birding, immersing oneself in nature and generally having a great time.

Great place for nature lovers. Walking trail is absolutely lovely with many butterflies. Education center is good with many facilities. I have been to terranium workshop conducted there. They also have bird photography, butterfly trails, nature trails and rare tree and plants species trails conducted from time to time. Great education center for school kids.

The place is nice inside but outside is very filthy. Lots of saplings and properly named with information plants. Entry charges are 20/- per person. Peaceful n fresh feeling (inside) but it is surrounded by a not so good river in the north side and lot of garbage trucks in the south. The best way to reach is to take a cab from mahim WEST.

We attended a nature walk organized by the park on the occasion of bird week. The naturalist Mr Prashant was excellent and spotted many resident and migratory birds for us. There are kingfishers, myna, sunbirds, koel, parakeets, flycatchers, Golden Oriol, eagles and water waders like red shank, sandpiper, Stilts, terns, black headed gulls . There are many butterflies as well. We spotted a rattle snake as well. It was good experience.

Amazing to find such a peaceful and beautiful oasis in the heart of the city. 100Rs entrance for foreigners, 20Rs for Indians. You can easily spend a couple of hours following the nature trail through the woods. The river is sadly polluted, but I still saw a crocodile slip into the waters. I don't know much about birds, but even I managed to spot a white-tailed paradise flycatcher, golden oriole and greater coucal. What a lovely place - very much worth a visit for some peace.

Opp Dharavi Bus depot. The access is lined with garbage trucks and gives no clue to the beauty inside. Bear with the access and inside you will see a green Haven, heaven. You can buy plants from nursery. Park timings are 8.30 AM to 3.30 PM & entry fee @Rs20/ per person.

The park's efforts in promoting environmental awareness and sustainability are commendable. One potential downside is that due to its popularity, the park can get crowded during peak hours and weekends, which might reduce the overall tranquility of the experienceMaharashtra Nature Park offers a refreshing and educational escape within the city, making it a must-visit destination for nature lovers and those seeking a brief retreat from the urban chaos

This place is Paradise in the concrete jungle. Cute little getaway to spend some time with birds and butterflies and trees. They have many workshops and lecture series that are interesting,. Head to their office to know more. They have sessions like photowalk, butterfly lifecycle and many more. Take small kids here to learn about nature. This park is reclaimed from a dumping ground, so it's a marvel in itself..

It is great place for bird watching. It is best for school educational trips. It is better if you hire a guide alongwith you as he shares all the information with you and also helps in bird spotting. It is easily visiboe from traffic. You can take a bus from Bandra station or also a taxi to reach the place. It is best to go there in the morning.

Good respite from hustle and bustle of mumbai. Good variety of flora and fauna as well as a lovely butterfly section to visit. We went as a family with young kids and they enjoyed exploring and taking in the nature. A little revamp of the dinning option would be well deserved. Please note that you can book a guide the day before, for a nominal charge and have a much more educational visit.

Greatly maintained place... You can't identify that this river side area was a dumping ground for urban waste... Good work by all who helped to made this You can find varieties of tree here, only if you belongs to urban areas. Most of this tree you can find in countryside's. If you are here to see Birds, all the best! In migration period more or less birds came over

Nestled in the middle of the city, right besides Dharavi, is a quaint restored garden. The place is a clear surprise and a very green patch of land. It is a delight for those who just want to have a good morning walk or be away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The place is a paradise for those interested in butterflies and birds. A lot of animals were lost during Covid pandemic, hence you see many empty cages. They are slowly rebuilding the facilities.

Pleasantly surprised by the variety of wildlife we saw when we went out around 9 am in early November: cobra, parrots, egrets, iguanas and every size and color of butterflies. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a green fix in the area. Might take an hour to walk all the paths. They also have a nice presentation of plants and trees.

Maharashtra Nature Park (MNP) has developed on an erstwhile garbage dumping ground and manmade forest surrounded by the natural ecosystem of the mangrove forests of Mithi River. In the year 1983, the world-famous ornithologist Dr. Salim Ali was first to plant a sapling at MNP and thereafter, with the help of school and college going students planted the saplings and nurturing them till they become trees. 22 April 1994 - Vasundhara Divas (World Earth Day), MNP was declared open to the people. In the world of Concrete, now we can see Mini manmade forest inclues Butterflies, small Mammals, Reptiles, Insect, Trees, Flowers many more.

Hardly what one would expect right in the middle of the city, but the Maharashtra nature park does not disappoint. It is truly a marvel. Plenty to see, with a wide variety of flora and fauna.

NEVER VISIT THIS PLACE ON A PUBLIC HOLIDAY..IT'S SHUT The place is good but staff is very rude especially the nursery staff, they're absolutely disinterested. They do not cooperate at all. They never pick up the call..visited this place after travelling for 2 hours and we weren't allowed to visit since it was public holiday, totally disappointed.

Such a big park in Mumbai, it's self explanatory as all trees are marked out with name nd species , on Sunday afternoon the park was empty, clean restrooms , no kids play area, a dirty pond, no seating arrangements.
