Weekends
have
been
all
about
gallivanting
in
search
of
something
new
and
exciting
&
this
experience
was
no
less.
My
cravings
to
try
something
Asian
brought
me
to
this
quaint
space
in
Powai
popularly
known
as
Foo.
In
the
frame,
we’ve
got,
1.
Spicy
Seafood
Peking
Dumpling
–
A
pleasant
mélange
of
assorted
seafood
encased
in
a
carefully
prepared
Dumpling
wrapper.
Is
it
spicy?
The
answer
is
No
because
you
would
expect
some
form
of
heat
tingling
your
tastebuds.
But
it
sure
is
delicious.
The
umami
mouthfeel
seafood
paired
with
the
array
of
dipping
sauces
is
something
you
just
can’t
get
over.
2.
Nikkei
Prawn
Tempura
Uramaki
–
A
play
on
textures
is
what
was
evident
on
this
plate.
However,
any
sushi
connoisseur
would
easily
figure
out
that
the
rice
lacked
balance
between
the
sweet,
salty,
and
sour
and
tasted
a
touch
bland.
The
tempura
prawns
were
spot
on.
Light,
Crispy,
and
tasted
Ocean
on
a
plate.
They
paired
this
with
your
usual
pickled
ginger
and
wasabi
but
not
so
usual
chimichurri
mayonnaise
and
coriander
oil
which
was
a
pleasant
twist
on
a
Japanese
classic.
3.
Spicy
Hunan
Baby
Chilly
Potatoes
–
Morish
is
the
word
I’d
use
for
this
beauty.
Crispy
on
the
outside,
soft,
and
fluffy
on
the
inside.
These
babies
were
an
absolute
hit.
The
balance
of
the
sweet
and
spicy
with
the
textural
elements
of
sesame
seeds
&
scallions.
The
plate
was
wiped
off
in
minutes.
4.
Red
Snapper,
Oyster
Sauce,
King
Chilly
–
Unfortunately,
this
was
once
of
my
least
favorite
dishes.
The
fish
tasted
bland,
the
broth
felt
gluggy,
and
it
wasn’t
enjoyable
to
say
the
least.
Maybe
this
is
a
dish
the
team
can
work
on
getting
better.
5.
Assorted
Mushroom
in
Veg
Oyster
Sauce
–
Mushroom
Meat.
Patato
Potato.
I
don’t
think
one
can
ever
go
wrong
with
the
shrooms.
They’re
literally
THE
FLAVOR
BOMBS
and
they
were
treated
no
less
in
this
dish
too.
The
mushrooms
were
the
star
of
the
bowl
and
the
broth
accompanying
it
just
elevated
the
dish
to
the
ultimate
food
heavens.
It
was
the
perfect
big
plate
for
our
rice.
6.
Foo
Blue
Butter
Japanese
Fried
Rice
–
Art
in
a
bowl.
This
plate
is
a
masterpiece
on
its
own.
The
bright
blue
color
in
the
rice
is
obtained
from
the
Butterfly
Blue
Pea
flower
also
known
as
“Asian
Pigeonwings”
and
it’s
tossed
with
Baby
corn
and
your
usual
fried
rice
elements
making
it
the
perfect
accompaniment
to
your
big
plates.
7.
Foo
Black
Marble
Sesame
Cheesecake
–
3
WORDS.
OH
MY
GOD.
This
dessert
was
suggested
by
the
bartender
Romario
and
he
quoted
that
I
wouldn’t
regret
it
and
kid
you
not
I
didn’t.
This
has
been
the
best
cheesecake
I
have
tried.
Just
the
right
amount
of
sweet
to
end
this
beautiful
meal.
The
Bar
menu
is
exciting.
The
twist
of
classics
with
an
Asian
spin
sure
tickled
our
tastebuds.
Romario
the
Cute
Bartender
I
quote
ensured
we
were
suited
to
the
best
cocktails
in
his
menu
and
the
craftsmanship
was
beautiful.
All
in
all,
I
would
definitely
recommend
this
place
if
you
want
are
in
the
mood
for
an
Asian
Oriental
experience.
