Famous lake in Pawai. You can reach here by bus or auto riksha. This lake located after Hiranandani area. But Powai lake is very unsafe. There is no security. There is no parking.

Beautiful place to hangout with friends. Monsoon is the best time to visit here. Quite peaceful place to be at. If you are into reading and stuff then you can read over here with the beautiful view. Nowadays, people are littering this place with packets of snacks, plastic bottles, etc. People are ruining the lake's view by throwing waste here.

Powai Lake (Pronunciation: [pəʋəiː]) is an artificial lake, situated in Mumbai, in the Powai valley, where a Powai village with a cluster of huts existed. The city suburb called Powai shares its name with the lake. Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, one of the premier institutions of science and technology in India, is located to the east of the lake.[1] Another famous institution, the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), is also located close to the lake. Housing complexes and plush hotels are developed all around the lake periphery. Population around the lake has thus substantially increased over the years.

If you are going with families and strictly go in a day time because at night you'll probably find a lot of couples and you will be uncomfortable. At night there are no lights too

Powai Lake is an artificial lake situated in the Powai valley in the northern suburb of Mumbai which was named after Framaji Kavasji Powai Estate. This lake is amongst the beautiful places in the city of Mumbai which you cannot miss out on your visit to this metropolis. Located on the Salsette Island, next to the Powai village, Powai Lake is a calm and soothing place to enjoy nature at its best. To the east of this lake is the esteemed Indian Intsitute of Technology (IIT Mumbai) which lies downstream of Vihar Lake and the Mithi River. Another major institution close to this lake is National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE). There are also various luxurious hotels and housing complexes around the periphery of the lake. When it was built in 1891, the Powai Lake was spread across 2.1 km2 and had a depth of approximately 3m at the periphery and 12m at its deepest end.

Calm and peaceful area. Very scenic. Only the downside is that people through garbage in the lake and near the railing. This needs to stop. There's a sign that says that we need to stop throwing garbage. Other than that, this area is perfect for sightseeing and to take selfies.

Powai Lake, nestled in Mumbai's urban landscape, is a tranquil oasis offering respite from the bustling city life. Its picturesque beauty captivates visitors with lush greenery, serene waters, and the harmonious coexistence of nature and modernity. The expansive lake presents opportunities for leisurely strolls along its banks, boating experiences, and moments of relaxation amidst a serene atmosphere. The surrounding area boasts an eclectic mix of restaurants, gardens, and cultural spots, adding to the charm of this scenic destination. However, at times, the lake faces challenges related to pollution, affecting its ecological balance. Despite this, Powai Lake remains a delightful retreat, drawing both locals and tourists seeking solace in its natural splendor.

Probably the only lake in proper Mumbai city. Its a large lake and the Powai township is built around it. Good place for people to relax. Around it is a premium locality with all top restaurants and hotels. But always a high traffic area. Surrounded by trees and hills on all sides expect the eyesore Hiranandani and Raheja complexes.
