😠 Let me start by saying I had been seeing a therapist I loved for over 3 years. I was on a low dose of a common SSRI for 8 years. When my insurance changed I had to find someone in network. This was the only location currently taking new patients. I'm not going to bad mouth anyone in particular but I... People often mention office, location, patients, appointment, told,

Let me start by saying I had been seeing a therapist I loved for over 3 years. I was on a low dose of a common SSRI for 8 years. When my insurance changed I had to find someone in network. This was the only location currently taking new patients. I'm not going to bad mouth anyone in particular but I will say that the woman who I had the appointment with was very condescending and dismissive, to the point where I walked out of the appointment. I can understand why the reviews are so bad now.. .

This La Mesa location is horrible from the front desk staff to the physician. Let me start by saying that I work in the healthcare industry. I know how medical professionals should treat their patients. This location does not. I took my mom to this location for about 3 visits bc the office near me was booked. The front desk staff was not pleasant nor cordial. Very little eye contact given to patients. On the announcements behind the front desk, there were so many typos. May seem irrelevant, but I look at it like they have no guidance or supervision to even help them correct something so small as spelling. Pamela Velardi does not need a position that deals with other human beings. My mother and I were both treated like simpletons. My mother would begin to explain herself and she would cut her off so that she could type. Mom would try asking questions, but was told to wait several times. When she finally finished typing and turned back to my mom, Mom couldn’t even remember what she was going to ask. A majority of the appointment was spent in silence, well Pamela would talk to herself as she typed or looked through paperwork. She called mom’s previous physicians from another state idiots. Even if that is true, mom had been w those docs for decades and trusted them. So, she took it offensive when her docs were called idiots by this nurse who has never even spoken to them. She didn’t listen to what my mom was saying. She didn’t listen to what I was saying. Her mannerisms are rude and dismissive. I don’t work with patients who have psych issues, but if I did I would not send them to this office. They would probably end up worse than before! On to the physician. I don’t even remember her name. She saw us only once for about 3-5 minutes. My mom walked into her office and extended her hand to greet her (this is prior to Covid-19). Instead of extending her hand for the handshake, she pointed at a chair and told mom to have a seat. She addressed only me and pretty much told me that mom is on too much meds and they will be discontinuing them. That was pretty much all she had to say. After leaving I held my tongue and didn’t speak negatively of them, but asked Mom how she liked the office. She did not like it. I told her we would follow up with them and then transfer to a different location. The Chula Vista office is so much better than this place. We will not return to the La Mesa location!!

Came here 1.5 years ago. I needed help with anxiety. I left there feeling more helpless than when I arrived. Everyone I encountered at this office was rude and uncaring. Their office for adolescents is great though. Today I witnessed the office staff showing zero empathy for an elderly woman that believed she had an appointment. The office lady made zero attempts to work with her in any way.

Dina helped us over the phone. She was rude and was laughing at our requests as disabled patients. No compassion or care very unprofessional and hung up on us. Bad business. She said this was how she was trained to handle disabled people.

Since Mind Path I have been on hold with the Nurse’s station for almost 2 hours. Never use the call back feature anymore, no one calls. Phone calls to billing because I am being charged for missed phone calls as office visits, the charges remain. They seem to regard patients as stupid. I have waited for billing for 45 minutes. When is the patient advocate working? Who knows. Sharp Rees-Stealy should not contract with these unethical corporations. I think it’s back to Kaiser for me. I would give zero stars if that was an option. Oh and because I was upset they reported me to my doctor. If you can’t handle upset then you work in the wrong industry. I was a therapist, I know a few things. Let me be the patient advocate. I wouldn’t recommend this bunch to anyone who values their mental health!

I called to make an appointment because my M.D. thought it would help me. I got passed around to 5 different people and the last girl who was RUDE asked me what insurance I had. I told her and she said no we don't take Medicare. I told the lady thank god I was suicidal and all she said was, " She hung the phone up".

Well deserves the rating. This place will do more harm for your mental health than good. The front desk and her supervisor were both annoyed at being interrupted with me walking in to request an appointment and weren't the slightest bit helpful.
