We
were
alerted
to
this
gem
of
a
restuarant
by
a
Warsaw
food
blogger.
It
is
a
one
stop
tram
ride
over
the
river,
where
few
tourists
venture.
But
they
should.
The
food
and
wine
was
one
long
joyous,
taste-tingling
delight.
We
started
with
a
simple
tomato
dish
that
was
luscious
and
delicately
handled.
This
was
accompanied
by
a
white
Hungarian
wine,
which
the
informative
and
passionate
waiter
was
keen
for
us
to
try.
The
sourdough
bread
and
butter
were
faultless.
We
then
sampled
a
dish
of
three
local
cheeses.
I
didn't
know
Poland
did
such
great
cheese.
This
was
followed
by
a
steak
tartare,
which
the
waiter
said
was
a
must
try.
It's
not
something
I'd
normally
order.
I'd
had
it
once
before
in
the
spirital
home
of
France
gastronomy,
Lyon.
But
this
was
something
else,
flavoured
with
dried
tomotoes
and
a
mustard
relish.
The
waiter
explained
how
they
change
their
tartare
every
month
with
creative
seasonal
twists.
We
shared
two
starters
between
three
of
us.
Potato
cakes
topped
with
a
Polish
parmesian
in
a
delicate
sauce
and
a
beef
rib
with
a
cray
fish
mayonaise
that
fell
off
the
bone.
To
accompany
it
we
tried
three
red
wines,
before
selecting
a
Slovakian
merlot.
The
restuarant
has
a
fake
three-star
Michelin
sign
on
the
wall,
an
apparent
joke
from
the
owner
when
it
opened.
But
the
food
and
wine
is
no
joke.
It
should
be
in
the
Michelin
guide
and
even
have
a
star.
A
rare
culinary
treat.
