Unpleasant server, he didn't bother to tell us what the Czech specialties are. As mentioned in other reviews, it's evident that tourists are not very welcome in this restaurant. We ordered Goulash in a loaf of bread for ~11 EUR and Duck Leg for ~16 EUR. They were delicious. The thing I liked the most is the cabbage thing, it was really amazing. We payed with Boursorama card, change fees were minimal. No Wi-Fi coverage in the restaurant, we were seated in the back with no view of the rest of the restaurant.

AVOID Cash-Only place with rude and arrogant staff that demand tips after terrible service! I don't normally post reviews but the service received is too outrageous to not write. The place mostly empty at the time we arrived. Staff ignored us and were mainly speaking amongst themselves, when we finally got their attention to order... it took a really long time for food to arrive. The food was average at best and found it too salty. When it came to bill, the staff DEMANDED us to pay 10% or 12.5% tip instead of letting us decide how much. He then INSULTED us when we offer less. I'm more than happy to provide tips when we are happy with service. However it's disgusting to demand and force customers to pay tips when your basic customer service is repulsive. They even refused anything less. Would not recommend!

It’s kinda busy , so prepare to wait for at least 20-30 mins based on the peak hours . Food tastes incredibly good . Right on the portion size . We have ordered onion rings , duck & famous GOULASH . Everything tastes amazing . However as the restaurant is busy , server was kinda on and off .

Our visit to Restaurace Mlejnice centered around their goulash, and it was fantastic. The goulash in bread had a wonderful aroma and a nice tangy kick. The bread was hot and crispy, a perfect match. The meat was incredibly tender, practically melting in your mouth – a real highlight. Portion sizes were just right, filling us up without going overboard. A shoutout to our waiter who was quick and attentive, adding to the positive experience. In summary, Restaurace Mlejnice delivered a memorable goulash experience. From the delicious tang to the tender meat, it's a solid choice. If you're in the mood for excellent goulash, this place is a winner.

Such a surprise... a small dark place in a narrow side street shows his hidden beauty... Great local beer, excellent Czech food, fast, and not complicated at all for a hand full of coins! Great place

Excellent I'm presuming authentic Czech cuisine (I'm American). Had meat...which this spot is known for, and plenty of it. The chili sausage is an excellent appetizer for the gargantuan roasted pork knee. The pork was sumptuous, savory, and fall off the bone tender...tackling the thing by yourself can be a challenge, if you've eaten anything hours before this meal. The ambiance had a great medieval tavern vibe, which I love. Beer was also excellent, but it's hard to find bad beer in Prague. This spot is tucked away between a couple of alleyways, but it's worth the adventure to find it!

Ambience, service and food. It is one of the oldest restaurant in the area, offering the local cuisine. The ambience is completely raw, it was impressive and very calm inside. The service people are helpful and very attentive. The food tastes good, but not satisfying for Indian taste buds. I found most of the dishes to be blunt, but as I said; it did taste good. Overall experience was good here. If you want to experience the typical Czech food, then this is your pick.

Cozy atmosphere and tasty food. The goulash soup in a bread loaf was delicious but too spicy. Perfect for winter cold. The beef cheek was so tender and delicious. Beers were just right.

It's my first time visiting Prague and was curious about authentic Czech cuisine. I must say I did not regret visiting this restaurant on my first evening in Prague because they served very good dishes. Both locals and tourists line up for a table so it's really a good sign. Aside from their roasted pork knee, their salads and the spicy beef steak are the bombs too! Must try!

The food is extremely delicious. It's totally worth to visit. I was very surprised in the amount of meat attached to the rib where the price is not that expensive. And you must order the meat soup. Excellent taste. Also, we were able to pay by card.

Best Beer Goulash in bread loaf! I went to this restaurant twice because of this dish. Had it with the Cabernet Sedlak and it was just divine! The restaurant can get busy, but the staff are very nice and accommodating. Even if there can be a lot of people at times, you can still get a quiet corner and the ambiance is still relaxing.

If you arrive after 7 there will be a long queue. The waiting is long and no one talks to you while you wait. But this is short in comparison to the wait for the food after you've ordered. We waited 15 minutes to sit and 25 to get the food. And you know what? Is was well worth it. The restaurant we enjoyed the most in Prague. Food is great, atmosphere is authentic. Price is reasonable. Don't miss it!

My husband said it was the best place we ate. The food took 45mins, and it's because they made the gnocchi from scratch. The food was a touch of artistry and the place quirky. A MUST to visit when in Czech. A point of improvement would be to get a child seat and changing room.

(Translated by Google) Very good restaurant, friendly welcome. The goulash is really delicious and good value for money. The cabbage pancake starter is very good also accompanied by crème fraîche. In the top. It wasn't too crowded, the restaurant is open at all times and there are a few tables outside. If you want to discover a good local goulach I highly recommend this address. Enjoy. (Original) Très bon restaurant accueil sympa. Le goulash est vraiment délicieux et à un bon rapport qualité prix. The service is bad, the waiter didn't seem to care at all. We ordered 2 beef dishes and a beef goulash. The waiter didn't asked us how we would prefer the beef to be cooked so eventually it was served overcooked. Had a hard time chewing the beef. Also the sauce was very salty. I asked for potato fries but he said it will take 10 minutes... Don't know why this place has so many good reviews. I do not recommend this place! Don't come here.

I gave 5 stars for their Goulash, it was really flavorous and I really loved the way they served it inside the bread-bowl, it was just amazing. The interior looks really old yet feels so authentic. Love to go back and I really recommend u to come and try their Goulash!

So happy to find this place! All the food was amazing, and the service was quick even though every table was full. Nice staff as well! Beef goulash was delicious, and so was the gnocchi, schnitzel, and the spinach baked potato. Went on a Sunday so it was busy but didnt have to wait. There are only a few tables inside, so it fills up quickly

Delicious food in a very lovely restaurant with a rustic feel. I had the duck, which was incredibly tasty, and everyone else said their dishes were great. As ever, the beer was good too - I highly recommend to anyone who is in the area and fancies some tradition Czech cuisine.

Me and my wife visited this restaurant in October 2023. I have looked at many reviews for a good local restaurant. Believe me when I say, I would come here even in my second and even third visits. Starting from reservation every little thing felt professional. Restaurant, waitresses, tables, waiting area looked and felt professional! You need to make reservation unless you want to wait. Because it is a very popular place. I am no Czech so I wouldn’t criticize Gulash. Though I liked what I ate. Sausage platter on the other hand was so delicious. Long story short, I WOULD RECOMMEND ❤️❤️❤️

The restaurant is hidden in an alley behind the astronomical clock. The goulash in a bread loaf was excellent. The beer was also delicious. I was just a little surprised at how arbitrarily the waiter turned people away or offered them a seat... Definitely try it out and it's best to reserve a table.

What can I say!! After searching for "the best goulash is prague" on Google, Restaurace Mlejnice was one of the top rated. We weren't disappointed!! Absolutely amazing beer goulash served in a bread bowl. Bit of advice if you go, expect to queue outside for a table as it's very popular! Definitely worth it though! 👌

  • 5/5 Cameron K. 3 months ago on Google • 13 reviews New
This time, two people were dining in total, and they could be seated after queuing for only 30 minutes. I ordered three dishes for the meal: 1. Goulash Soup: The bread is crispy, full of soup, and the meat is soft and tender. 2. Pork knee: The portion is surprisingly large! The meat on the inside is soft and tender, and goes well with yellow mustard. The outer layer of pork skin smells particularly burnt after the Menard reaction, but the taste is tougher. 3. Pork ribs (600g): The portion is moderate and the seasoning is a bit salty, so it is suitable to be enjoyed with beer. One of the side dishes tastes very much like kimchi. I personally think it is the soul of this dish. It can relieve boredom and make people eat more! Since there were only two people sharing the meal, the portion was larger than expected, but we still ate it all! Overall, highly recommended to travelers who want to try authentic Czech food. It is recommended that an online booking function be added to the website. Currently, only phone bookings are available, which is not friendly to foreign tourists.

Awesome place. Good food and friendly staff, was there once, but really liked it. During the virus time there are not many people, but before it was full packed! The prices are a bit on high side, but it was worth it.

Good restaurant in the city center, just few minutes to walk from Old Times Square. Fresh Czech cuisine and good service.

  • 5/5 Madison E. 5 years ago on Google
We probably had the best pork knee here, and lemme tell you we had pork knee for almost every meal during our trip here. The fat melts in your mouth and the skin was extremely crispy. It wasn’t too salty and the aroma of black beer was not overriding the meat itself. The seating was well organised and generous which gives you a lot of privacy. Very affordable will definitely visit again!

When we arrived the restaurant was full so we took a seat in the table next to the entrance. The waiter was friendly and informed us there is another one outside so we changed the spot. I've been few times in Czech Republic and tasted before the local food but still you can always taste-test something new. I ordered a beer goulash(I think its a typical Hungarian food but its good to try another version)- they served it in bread. Overall, the food was tasty (also I tried homemade lemonade and baby back ribs with horseradish) so definitely I could recommend that place.

Alright, this restaurant is going to knock your socks off. I tried the pig knuckle (knee) and believe me, if you order this you wont be disappointed. This place is like the wonderland for food junkies. This is my 3rd time in Europe, I just left Paris and tried really good places and this restaurant takes the cake. Highly recommended!! Great pork knuckle, fall off the bone meat. That being said - it is a LOT of meat, gristle, bone and fat. If you're not in to that, you might not want to order that. In any case, order something bland along with it. We really enjoyed the parsley potatoes. The goulash is very delicious as well. Definitely no room for desert after sharing these two dishes between the two of us.

Very delicious food and good drinks, sider and beer. A service was fine, a waitress spoke English very well although she wasn't very nice. The waitress told as 3 times that the service wasn't included so it seemed very forced. When it comes to the prices it's quite expensive, but the food was very very good. You can pay with card also.

Went to visit Prague and stayed near the Old Town Square last year. Wanted to go to a restaurant serving traditional food so found this place from Google maps and to my surprise I went around 7pm (dinner time) and got shoo away. Waiter did not even politely say they are fully booked/no spaces or to come another day. Did not even get good customer service and this is before I even had a chance to sit down and have their food. P.S their food could be good I would never know but the fact I got told to leave like that whilst other customers were looking is the reason for the one star.

Goulash that my friend ordered was amazing! I had the potatoes with spinach & onion and they were really good too, surprisingly good 😄 unfortunately I couldn't swap the cheese for another topping, just had to remove it (vegan). Waiter was okay but not particularly friendly, the atmosphere/decor was nice though

  • 1/5 Maria P. 2 years ago on Google
The food is nothing to write home about, and can definitely be classified as a tourist trap. The goulash was okay but the meat was overcooked. The potatos with cheese and spinach were plain, as was the salad and baked cheese. The pickled cheese was so spicy it overrode any taste it may have otherwise had. THE SERVERS DO NOT WEAR MASKS!!! We visited on the 27th of November '21, in the middle of semi-lockdown due to alarming numbers of contagion, and found their disregard for basic safety to be alarming.

Traditional czech cuisine in the restaurant that looks like from Charles Dickens times. The waitress was kind and funny, the service was good. We had duck, gulas in incredible rye bread and gnocchi (sisky). Sour cabbage (with quite a lot of sugar and cumin) as a side dish is typical for eastern Europe, however not for anyone taste. Great experience hidden from main touristic streets.

Came here specifically for the goulash after searching on Google for "the best goulash in Prague" and we weren't disappointed! We really wanted goulash in bread and we found it here. The bread was lovely, fresh and crispy (we think they bake it themselves but not sure), the beef melted in your mouth and it was amazingly tasty. The staff were lovely and didn't bug us at all for more drinks, they let us eat our food in peace and politely asked us when wed finished. Highly recommended for some great food in a warm atmosphere just a few minutes from the astronomical clock.

The service was great, very polite waiters. Cosy atmosphere inside, write full, with a lot of people even waiting outside for more then 20 minutes. The food came relatively fast and it was very delicious. The goulash , the beef and the ribs were super. Would recommend.

Delicious and super authentic czech food, great beer and amazing service! Went 2 days in a row on my last visit and will surely go again next time I'm in Prague! I really recommend the goulash soup in a bread bowl and the cabbage pancakes (first time I tried them and now one of my favorite dishes ever)!

Five star but the owner should take a notice ! We found the place by searching for a restaurant that serves traditional food. And yes, the food won Milejnice the five stars. Everything was extremely well prepared. The duck leg is a must ! I’m from Bulgaria and had some expectations when I saw the cabbage, but it blew my mind. A real foodgasm ! So for the atmosphere - a small, cozy restaurant. Dim lights, no loud music. Using the navigation is not hard to find. The prices, I can say, are relatively cheap compared to other places we’ve been so far ! But with all that good it should be something bad right ? We were there around 20:00 and saw the last free table. By the time the staff talked to us three guys went in. We were two so we were informed that the place is full and had to wait outside for about 30 min to get a table. And it is a practice because shortly after us a guy came and even ordered a beer to drink while waiting. Guess who got in first him or the couple, that came 15 min after.. I recommend, but bear that in mind and maybe make a reservation!

Good traditional Czech food for a reasonable price. Just a short walk from the old town market place in a tiny side street, this restaurant gives you what you expect from a visit in Prague. Good service and the meals were delicious.

Amazing Czech Restaurant, can’t complain at all the food was amazing, the restaurant it self is in a very nice small street in the old town little bit hidden. The interior is traditional rustic, with very nice details and decoration. Its a must visit and try when you are in the old town of Prague.

We had the best time in this restaurant. Came here very hungry and let’s say we were not left dissatisfied. The wide range of authentic dishes will not disappoint you. Be aware to come here with time in advance to ensure you have a table. The place understandably attracts many people as it is in the city center.

Beer Goulash was amazing also the grilled salmon fillet is perfectly cooked and seasoned. We passed by and pop in to have quick dinner, but they are really busy. Reservations is highly recommended, it can be done through their website. Affordable price and amazing food. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Nice place in the city center but in an hidden street. The food was really good, service was quick and efficient. The staff was nice and the meal was pleasant. The pork knee was really soft and the beer was good. Maybe a bit touristic and this could be the reason for the higher price compared to average price restaurant in Prague but is understandable. I will surely be back there next time!

The queue outside speaks for itself! Definitely worth the wait! The food was terrific. A real gem near the old town square! From the beef roast with plum sauce to the pork knee to the beef goulash everyone at our table became very quiet as we all dug in, a true sign of delicious hearty food!

Restaurant is hidden in a small street which is nice and adds a little "spice" to the vibe inside. I can not say anything bad about either food or beer. Prices are a little bit higher but it is acceptable - restaurant is located almost in the main square of the city.

Goulash was very good. I think the bread bowl was a bit too much. I prefer to have it with bread on the side. This would be a perfect place to come to eat in the winter. The atmosphere is fabulous.

Cosy restaurant, serving traditional czech food. The interior is nicely decorated with domestic objects and motifs. It was very busy when we were there. There was a waiting queue outside throughout the whole evening. I guess this popularity speaks for itself. I had marinated brie, which was served with brown bread. It was absolutely delicious, would strongly recommend it. My boyfriend ordered pork knee and found it remarkably good. Moreover, the portion was so generous that he couldn't finish it. The service was good, but I felt sorry for the waiters. The staff was obviously not enough for such a busy place. Consequently, there was a delay in the service. I didn't like that my meal came 30-40 mins before my boyfriend's so the time he got his, I had already finished mine.

We had to wait a bit to get inside and also 40 minutes for the food, but it was definitely worth it as the food was delicious. I recommend trying the Beer Goulash The waiter could have been nicer but it's definitely worth the try

The best place for a mouthwatering massive Pork knuckle grilled to perfection. The meat is just fall of the Bone consistency. Located inside the streets of old town just a few mins walk from old town square. Good old rustic interiors. Absolute must try….even the fried cheese is awesome

A place with a very authentic atmosphere and a fast and friendly service. I ordered the knee and was more than satisfied. The meat melted in your mouth and the sauce was very good. I highly recommend it.

Nice rustic looking authentic czech restaurant and bar. Tooled away down a small side street just off the main square. The place is full of old memorabilia. We had goulash in a bread bowl with optional garlic baguette. With a glass of merlot each. The food was exceptionally good. Unfortunately, as many many people have already stated in their reviews. The waiter was miserable and quite abrupt. Such a shame to have such a lovely place, to be spoiled by someone who didn't want to be there. All it takes us a smile and a hello.....

First contact with the city of Prague. I find this restaurant on Internet and I came straight. We spent about 15 minutes in the line before we get in.What can I say ? I give 5 stars but all deserves 10000 stars. Extraordinary !!!!!

Amazing restaurant. Nicely away from busy main streets, affordable prices, great simple rustic food and nice old-timey decor and atmosphere. Ended up eating here twice and loved it both times. First time I had beef with plum sauce and potato chips on the side with chili sausages for starter. Second time the bread goulash with spicy pickled sausage starter. Only complaint is a rather limited beer selection as this is the kind of place where I'd love to try lesser known local beers rather than just the basic Urquell which I can get anywhere. Absolutely recommended, especially if you're looking for local cuisine in a cozy rustic atmosphere.
