Ordered the 5 course tasting menu, along with the duck main course and potatoes in ash, said to be one of their signature dishes. The duck and potatoes did not disappoint although the 5 course tasting menu left me wanting. But overall food was fresh and well prepared and delicious. Service was okay. Why 4 stars? Primarily service. 1. The servers don’t seem to replace the utensils even after heavy use. I didn’t even get a sharper knife for the duck until we asked for it. 2. Charged 65 kc for tap water. Thought they should have made this clear. 3. The servers placed the spoon on the table. With covid, I found that a little disconcerting. But the restaurant was kept clean and staff members were wearing masks diligently most times.

Amazing bakery! We ordered a lot of different things, and we tried it all. I really liked the "potato in ash" (I think it's called). The interior decor is industrial and nice. The service is good. This place is wanted, so you might have to wait a bit to be seated.

Ordered their creamy leek soup which came with their 33 bread and a chunk of salted butter and a cup of latte. Could not detect any taste of leeks in the soup which taste was totally overpowered by sodium. Even tiny pieces of salty fish added to the soup were drowning in this brine. Their bread looked great but was extremely salty. And salted butter on top of it. If you love a lots of salt this is the place to go. Latte was not salty or at least I could not detect any salt in it. It had a strong bitter/sour taste neither one of those being my favorite ones. The place was very busy and was fun to watch how this Hi-Tec place was buzzing with activity. I have not tried any of their sweet baked goods yet so maybe next time.

Loved it. Eska's a fab concept w homemade ferments, local sourcing, relaxed vibe and a young crew on board. Popped in for a treat dinner early on a cold Jan Sunday pm. Restaurant upstairs. Mixed crowd. Tables socially distanced. Homemade bread and pumpkin chutney delicious. 5-course tasting menu great value w decent portions. Veg focused and some really lovely strong bright flavours. Natural wine flight had varied, interesting choices and generous pours. Knowledgeable waiter was happy to explain dishes and wines in English. Recommend as somewhere different and modern, you don't have to break the bank, and it's not too fine dining pretentious.

They have two options: a 2 course menu of your choice or a 5 course one when the dishes are selected by the chef. You can also opt for wine pairing. Before you get the main dishes, you get their bread and butter as an appetizer. This restaurant is rather casual, but geared towards experience, so not meant for everyday dining. Every dish is very well crafted, the ambience is also great. I suppose it’s worth the price.

What a spectacular delight! The dishes are creative, diverse, full of intriguing aroma, and mouthwatering to look at. We had a lot of fun enjoying all the colorful and perfectly cooked courses. With 700czk for two or 1000czk for five courses, it's not an everyday dinner but certainly very good value and highly recommended. Our waitress was extremely attentive and gave us helpful recommendations. We felt well taken care of and most welcome. The atmosphere is down-to-earth, positive and relaxed. On our way out, we got a loaf of the bakery's beautiful breads - one of the evening's highlights 👌

We were there for breakfast very recently. I have ordered Fried egg bread which turned out to be Chlebicky (half ham, half almost uncooked potatoes) and my boyfriend's choice was Breakfast Eska which was more of a bean soup. Even though we really liked the interior and their staff, food wasn't really for us to eat there again. The reason to come back would only be their bread.

Went there and ordered 5 course meal, the food was great. The pork chop was fenomenal. Their desert also tastes amazing. The decor has to be improved. It pay a fine restaurant meal price and you don't feel that you are in a fine restaurant decor vise. Their vines are not really strong. Their bread is made by them and it is so tasty. Their toilet is very clean. I paid 2022 krona for two of us. I think their price is very high for the Czech restaurant market.

Industrial chic, clean lines, light wood, exposed kitchen, and elevated food that won’t break the bank. It’s no wonder Eska earned Michelin’s Bib Gourmand seal of approval. ⛔️That said, menu items have unlisted ingredients, which for me is a major no-no. I also found their famous buns to be dense and lack luster. Service is exceptional. Not ♿️ accessible (details below). LUNCH: Menu changes daily, but I ordered beef tartare (300 Czech), sweet bread 66 (sour cream, milk caramel, and fried sourdough for 130 Czech), a cold brew ☕️ (90 Czech), and 3 of their famous buns to-go (their takeaway containers are VERY sturdy, but the buns are just okay). While the tartare itself is delicious and portion generous, the bread came coated with a sauce that was not listen on the menu. And while I’m sure it was yummy for some, I am very picky about sauces and don’t like anything mayonnaise like. Had this been listed under the ingredients (because it was a main component of the dish, I would have chosen something else. And the cold brew is over brewed in my option, so I’d recommend trying one of their other lovely looking drinks. Service is OUTSTANDING. You’re greeted at the door with the menus and get to watch the bakers at work while you wait in line. Also while you dine. And when you use the restroom upstairs, you can see the chefs working hard on dinner service prep (also an open kitchen). For me, this is the highlight. Indoor and outdoor seating options. ⛔️ ♿️👂🏼🚽 Accessible entrance and seating for breakfast and lunch (ground floor) but the formal dining area, where dinner is served, is up a large, steep flight of stairs with no elevator. And bathroom is upstairs with no handle bars etc. It’s a little loud, but lighting is good. Cobblestone on sidewalk outside is well maintained and fairly flat.

Went to get a breakfast here, shared one from their menu with my friend. Thought I was hungry for more so we got more eggs. It is all have been delicious, just a little too much in the end ( my fault, totally underestimated the "small" looking dish! 🤭) It was done fast, really tasty, service friendly & efficient 👍 Went through some bad reviews in here, and I am sorry, these people have no idea 😂 If you're looking for a nice place to grab a coffee, cake or sth bigger, go for it, totally worth it! 🙏🫶

This is on my top 5 best brunch places in Prague. Bread is so soft and good. For the lunch menu, I would recommend the potatoes in ash - super creamy and hearty. We also tried the breakfast eska, loved the jam, bread and bun. Service is quick and efficient. Friendly staff. Would surely return if I get the chance! #prague #bibgourmand #cafe #brunch #bread

Love this place! We got 5 meals course and it was very nice. The bread for tartare was burnt bread, so it was impossible to eat. We told the waiter about this and he rudely replied that it is the idea (strange). But overall experience is nice. I love this place.

My family and I came here for breakfast and really enjoyed it. Something for everyone on the menu. The yogurt and crepes were out of this world. Our server was lovely. The bread and butter blew our minds. We loved everything about this place. Cool artsy space, not pretentious with the highest quality food imaginable. Was the best way to spend our last day in Prague.

Many Czech restaurants offer the same dishes, the only difference being the price. Eska offers an innovative selection and a change from the meat intensive menu at typical Czech places. There is a downstairs Cafe with an upstairs restaurant. They also sell their breads to go. Both the char and chicken were very good except the accompaniment to the char, the baked cucumber was really bland. I don't think the best chef in the world could do anything magical with a baked cucumber. The grilled kale, on the other hand, was super. Some reviewers have complained about the prices. In all fairness, prices are the same or less than one would pay at a comparable restaurant in Germany. Anyone could always head down the street to McDonald's if they want to save a few korunas. The restaurant also has a very large staff for its size. The prices are very reasonable.

Can’t recommend. Overhyped and overpriced. Food is great, it’s just not worth the money IMO. Growing outside the city and having access to fresh eggs, vegetables, fish, etc. I simply can’t justify paying that much for a simple dish that is built on high quality ingredients(high quality=bio/homegrown) that aren’t even that exotic. Quality should be a standard, not something you brag about but to be fair that’s the only thing Eska can offer if you are willing to pay the price.

Awesome food! Only thing I didn't like was the natural wines.. they are OK but nothing compared to the good and normal wines I am used to.. but its something completely different to try that's for sure!

Breakfasts are really nice with fresh bread and all. Salad is really FRESH, and well balanced. Coffee is good. Various food with nice flavour of their own. I really enjoyed the food. Tables are quite small and packed each other. If you are looking for a peaceful morning, this is not the place. If you want to grab something delicious and okay with some noise and crowds, I think it's perfect place. Friendly, kind and nice service for a brunch cafe (lack of service to be a restaurant yet not sure since I only visited for the breakfast). One thing that really bothered me was that the staircase is over the open-kitchen. It may help to physically cover the bottom and the side of the staircase, so that it can give the feeling of full separation of the space (between the staircase and the kitchen)...? Great breakfast tho Willing to re-visit.

Excellent food in a great environment. We came for breakfast and was not disappointed. Bright airy, loft like space set the scene for a wonderful meal. The sausages came with a side of mustard and horseradish which highlighted the best of Czech cuisine. Never thought sausages could be so delicious! The coffee was also surprisingly good as we order two flat whites. The service was excellent and speedy, with the bread being a real highlight. Would highly recommend this place!

This place is amazing. It feels really like Shoreditch. Very hip and interesting food and drink. Also they have a bakery and coffee shop at the bottom for take away. Love how all the staff get to enjoy a big meal all together, seems a really nice place to work.

The whole place is quite unique inside, the open kitchen& bakery are very nice. Breakfast was wonderful - looked great and tasted even better, made from good ingredients. Must try when you're in Prague! Good way to start your day with this fabulous meal 😍

Lunch menu is amazing! We loved the 3 dishes we had. The natural wine was great. The bread was fab but the sweets were not what we like, it’s very local and authentic so people probably love it. Staff is friendly and service is fairly smooth.

We ordered Eska Breakfast and Ash Potatoes, both were delicious as well as poppy seed bun. Fantastic bread and pastries, a must in Prague for breakfast.

The environment is lovely, staff is good overall though could not answer us on meal questions (probably she was new). Bread was very good, omellete not bad but not what I expected. Also, if you sit outside it would be better to have better heating (yet, better than nothing).

mm, I've been here for lunch. the place looks nice, the people are very polite and helpful, they speak English, the food was served fast, the cappuccino was delicious, but the food did not impress me. the dishes were kind of expensive for the taste they offered. so I would go back for the atmosphere, a coffee and something sweet, but not for food.

In my opinion - one of the best restaurants in Prague. It is recommend by the Michelin guide. Potatoes in ash is a heaven in a bowl. The staff is very friendly and will help you decide what to order. Definitely try their homemade fermented lemonades. And the bread they make... oh my god! Go! Go and eat!

We came 4 people with a reservation and had the tasting menu of 5 courses. Service was great as well as the food. We asked the waiter if we can have a different main dish for two of us, which was not a problem for them, so we could taste one more dish. We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend.

Somebody in one of the cooking TV shows said that visiting a good restaurant should be a balance between a homey feeling and adventure. Eska managed to walk that line with perfect precision. It was hands down one of the best dinners I have ever had. We had a 5 course dinner with wine pairing and my taste buds were singing! So many new awesome tastes and flavours and the wine of choice made perfect sense every single time. While you can order separate dishes, I highly recommend trusting the chefs and somelies! It is also affordable (we paid up to 70 EUR for the whole package) and has an amazing atmosphere where you can see and appreciate the chemistry between the staff!

Ordered the 5 tasting menu. Potatoes in ash which is a signature dish did not disappoint. The desert was just sour and non balanced at all. Still they deserve 5 stars for a good service and interesting dishes. Well done 👍🏼

Eska & Bakery - Chef’s Five Course - Creative food - Nice starters - Nice beer - Nice service - Dessert is too sweet - €44, it’s a great deal - 8.8, recommended I really appreciate the passion chef put into the dishes given he’s not Asian, but he clearly came up with authentic pickles and some Chinese dishes. One more thing, the beef tartar is a must try.

Pretty good place. It’s a place you should visit early in the morning to have the best of it. Nonetheless the place is gorgeous and the coffee with their pastries is a good combinations for an afternoon snack

I feel a little conflicted, as the food and the service were pretty nice. But the atmosphere is pretty stressing for a breakfast place: loud music, very noisy, very hectic. It feels like they want you to eat as quickly as possible and then make room for new guests. Also I dislike the concept of ordering your breakfast at the counter, but at least they serve it to your table.

Went there late afternoon to try it out and the atmosphere was nice. While we were having out lunch there it seemed like the young staff also were having lunch nearby. They were being a bit loud and playful between each other which in my opinion lit up the place. Our waiter was also nice and helpful with all of our questions that weren't related to the food or restaurant itself. We ordered the cucumber salad which was delicious but pricey. We also ordered the cauliflower soup which was decent but too salty.

I have to say I was not very impressed. The place is very noisy, the waiters are unattentive. The food is good, but not impressive. What I liked best was the bread, that was really excellent. The rest was okay but not more. Too many things mixed into one for my taste, I would have preferred different things that can be tasted separately. What I did not like at all was they ran out of the really good IPA, and then just served a different beer without even commenting, let alone apologies. All in all I would have expected more from such a place.

Very large portions of food, I ordered one of the smaller breakfasts and still had trouble finishing it. Food correct, looks nice, variety. I recommend fermenting juices are really interesting and tasty. Interior design modernist, the open kitchen where you can see someone cooking your food is cool. Downstairs there is a store where you can buy something to take away.

Always a great choice for brunch. Their menu is seasonal, tasty and creative. You should try their sourdough bread and preserves. We like to come here regularly. Also kid and baby friendly and their staff is very friendly but professional.

I've been looking for an international breakfast restaurant. One which serves omlettes and eggs with bacon and bread and so forth and found it here at this place. It has this cool industrial look and seems like it's in a building for architecture. If you don't know. You won't know because it's not very visible from the street. Very friendly and helpful staff. Everyone spoke English and is extremely kind. It's a restaurant where you place your order at the counter, they give you a number and then the waiter brings it to you. Very cool setup and definitely a well-oiled machine. I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast and piping hot Chai latte, just the way I like it.

Modern dining place with great food. We started with beef tartare and their homemade bread. We then had lamb and potato in ash, which was super creamy and memorable. The atmosphere was lovely and service was great. Highly recommended!

We came to this spot for brunch. The price is a bit on the high end for Prague’s standard but the food was really good. They served a basket of bread with butter on the rock which is really unique. Their bread is especially good so would recommend grabbing them even if not sitting down for a meal. The coffee was divine too.

Loved the minimal vibes of this restaurant. The food was a full on experience, mixing traditional Czech food with a revisited hint. Liked the open view of the kitchen and bakery as well as the mini shop inside to allow you to purchase their products. The staff was professional and very knowledgeable. Prices were super affordable for the quantity and quality of food. A must try!

Dined here in Aug 2022. Great place with a very good ambience. The cafe and restaurant is very spacious. The restaurant is on the 1st floor (entrance via the main bakery/cafe) and the bakery/cafe & kitchen is on the ground floor. I ordered the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairing, and it was worth it. The potato dish (which is their longest serving dish as I was told) was very good. The wine pairing was very reasonable priced Overall, a definite recommendation for people visiting Prague.

Visited as part of a food tour, we had the fresh bread with butter, the potato ash dish, a gin & tonic and two desserts. Honestly best part was the bread and butter, however the potato ash "soup" was also tasty. I was glad for the experience but nothing wowed me enough to make a second visit during our 4 days in Prague.

Well designed and spacious interior, great location and friendly staff. A place which is renowned for serving unusual flavour combinations and traditional meals with a twist, unfortunately disappoints, as the only interesting qualities of the meals are the names and descriptions, the flavours are simply not there. The food itself isn’t bad, but it’s still miles away from the expectations the high price tags and reputation warrant. Complimentary bread and butter on a stone (yes, a stone) was probably the tastiest part of my visit.

The thing that needs to be mentioned first is the service here. So friendly, professional and really helpful! Food was out of this world. Most of it was just regular and seasonal ingredients but cooked and prepared so smartly. Everything was super delicious. Potatoes in ash are a must, as well as their homemade sourdough bread which is the real game changer here. You need to try it. We also had drink pairing which was interesting because they always tell you something about the drink but we think they weren’t that good. However, everything was so tasty and well prepared we are coming back soon!

Very nice place! Recommend! Somewhat unique too. The food was great (please check pics), they offered a nice fermented grape juice with lavender or the apple juice with cloves which we took and enjoyed. I took pork chop and it was great. The desert was fantastic. Very nice service. They speak good English. They have bakery on the first floor and we took bread home which we are going to enjoy tomorrow morning.

Very nice place, super friendly staff and delicious food. We've chosen the 5 course tasting menu and it was just perfect. Good combinations, all super fresh. We had a very good experience. I would definitely recommend!

(Translated by Google) Half of the small bread from the local bakery for 80 CZK is really a flight .. I understand, Prague .. But still .. If it was at least good and lasted a while, but unfortunately we did not notice any of it.

The restaurant has its own atmosphere. Interesting food - something new for me. I liked the bread the most here. You have to pay more but it's worth it. Very nice service
