Nice find in the middle of Prague. Away from the tourist mobs. Beer for normal prices . Really good food for normal prices. And the Staff were brilliant. Had a very relaxing atmosphere about it. We spent every day in Prague eating and drinking here ! Don't let the negative reviews about rude staff put you off: we thought they were lovely and always had a smile on their faces. If you're in Prague and don't want to pay double the prices in the tourist traps, then come here.

The restaurant located in the alley but when we entered, it was pretty full. The beer was good. We ordered grill sausages for appetizer, then goulash and roasted pork which tasted so good. The portion is not so big but enough anyway. Service was good and the waiters were pretty friendly and helpful. Affordable price ever. Definitely will back there.

The food: Meh, don’t order unless you are absolutely have to eat here. Ribs and pork cutlet looked good on the outside, but so damn dry on the inside. The taste is salty, perhaps only good with lots of beer. A small cup of ketchup costs 35 😑 The inside dining area is hot 🥵 in the summer The waiter asked for a automatic tip amount when we were about to swipe the card. Service is okay on par.

Our group made reservation in advance. The service was excellent. They can explain the menu to expat very well. The food was delicious, we enjoyed it very much for tenderloin steak, pork knuckle, Greek salad and malt beef goulash. If visit Prague again, I will visit here for sure.

We made reservation in advance and arrived 20 minutes earlier. Luckily we could be seated right away. The service was excellent, paid very much attention to us and other guests as well. The food was delicious, we enjoyed it very much. Obviously the chef knows what he or she is doing. We had a special and unique evening in the very heart of one of Europe's most popular Capitals. We highly recommend "U provaznice" and once again "děkují" to the staff!

I had a wonderful experience at the traditional Czech restaurant! The authentic food was delicious, and the attentive waiter made the meal even more enjoyable. The restaurant's convenient location and reasonable prices were definitely a plus. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to savor traditional Czech cuisine in a welcoming setting.

Expensive and overcharged because we are tourists. Had the goulash and pork schnitzel with fries and the waiter charged us for every little item without prior notice. We asked for a side of ketchup and were over charged 30 kc and when he totaled the bill he included 25%tip and rounded the bill up another 20 kc. Do not come here if you are a tourist because they will overcharge you

Changed a bit since our last visit in early 2020 but still great food and drink at very reasonable prices. Fried cheese wasn't too heavy, goulash wasn't as big as when we last visited and the beer and wine went down a treat too.

I did not feel welcome there, even though the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere. Several tables had “reserved” sign but when I observed, it seemed like the staff chose who they will be serving or not. They took off the signs depending on that. The food was good but very small portion.

I live this place which has always felt like home to me. During my several visits, I've eaten at this restaurant more then once. They serve the best hangover soup 🍲 a girl can ask for. I bet there is something for everyone who want savory and comforting, not to forget delicious food. To be enjoyed with Košice beer. I can't wait to get back, always with a new friend and sometimes seconds with friends who have joined before.

Interesting tale about this tavern's lady owner made the experience a whole lot more intriguing (leave you to check it out!) Scheinshaxe was delicious but the grilled beef steak was even closer to perfection. Beers were great, wine so-so.

We were looking to try traditional Czech food and our waitress recommended the tenderloins in vegetable cream sauce. It was incredibly delicious, tender meat (wish there’d been more!) and the sauce tasted like Thanksgiving. We also got the sausage plate and beer, both delicious. 10/10 would recommend. The waiter prompted us to tip 10% (but I guess that’s standard?) Would happily go back.

Had the roast pork with sauerkraut. Pork was so dry and overcooked it must have been reheated from yesterdays food or something. Quiet night tonight so the service was good as we were only one of two customers but a 10% tip is forced on you and that leaves a bad taste in your mouth. No pun intended. Beer was great but they fill it up with over 1/3 foam.

The food is great, the prices are reasonable and the location is also nice. But the best part of the restaurant was the waiter. We didn't ask her name, but she was super friendly and helpful, gave out a warm vibe like a nice aunt.

Adam was nice to us. The meat was good, but the side dishes (except the salad) were tasteless :c.

A super traditional cuisine with excellent food. There was even a menu in our language. The beer was of high quality. And the staff very eager that you do not sit long without a drink. Relaxed competent staff. You didn't hear any stress from the kitchen. The pub is highly recommended.

One of the best ribs I have ever had - would definitely come back when in Prague again. Service was also commendable, maybe that’s why every other table was reserved. Prices are also more than reasonable.

As a first-time visitor to a traditional Czech restaurant, I was excited to try the local cuisine at Restaurant U provaznice. I was not disappointed. The food arrived quickly and was expertly prepared, and the staff were all very friendly and attentive. As a starter, I ordered the traditional Czech potato soup and was pleasantly surprised by its hearty flavor. The soup was a perfect blend of potatoes, onions, and spices, and it truly embodied the essence of Czech cuisine. I thoroughly enjoyed it. For my main dish, I chose the Tatarák, which is the traditional Czech Steak Tartare. While I'm not sure if the Tatarák itself should have had a stronger flavor, I found that the meat itself was a bit lacking in flavor. Fortunately, the restaurant provided a selection of spices that I was able to use to add some extra flavor to the dish. Overall, I would say that my first experience dining at a traditional Czech restaurant was a positive one. I thoroughly enjoyed the potato soup and found the Tatarák to be a decent dish, despite its lack of flavor. I would recommend Restaurant U provaznice to anyone looking to try authentic Czech cuisine.

Busy, loud, no music just people speaking. Still loud. And busy. However a must see/drink/eat while at Prague. This is almost real business what I am talking about. Don't mind the tourists, they don't know what they do.

We went on a weekday evening and were seated right away. The service was fast too. The restaurant serves traditional Czech cuisine at similar pricing as most of the other restaurants in the old town. The meat was tender, but the roast pork was a little salty for our taste, and the portion of meat was a little small.

Bread dumplings were great and duck was done well and was not too chewy. Pork ribs were extremely greesy but it is not a bad thing since they were not as dry as some restaurants make them.

SCAM! They forced us to leave a tip without us knowing! The real total is 1113 CZK, but they added the VAT with the excuse that the vat is not included. What's over the total, will be considered a TIP. 1113 + 101 = 1214 CZk. This is unacceptable, we should decide if we leave tips, not to be scammed like that. Take care if you go to this place. For this experience, we strongly do NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. The food is very good but the staff is disappointing.

The restaurant serves regular Czech menus and has other drink menus aside beers. I tried horka griotka for the first time and they also have grog. It's unfortunate the waiter who was attending to us seemed to be in a bad mood but the other waiter & waitress were welcoming. We had the chicken steak with ratatouille, cabbage and sausage soup and the creamy meat sauce. The food tastes good.

We sat down and we were thinking about what do order and he approached us about 3 times and asked us what we want to order. When we finished our food we asked to pay. He came up to us and gave himself a tip of 10%. What kind of restaurant does that? Would definitely not recommend

The food was horrible. Although it was quick and cheap (when we consider it's located in downtown), we expected the food to be better, because our czech friend told the restaurant has traditional czech food. Firstly the service took our orders emotionless and didn't even bother to talk with us. When wanted to sit outside and the waiter told us: "you can sit outside if there is something free", instead of looking for a free table with us. Our dishes were too sweet, overly salty, lukewarm and even slightly raw. It felt like they mikrowaved everything. A quite unpleasant experience.

While the food in itself was tasty, it was quite expensive. Service on the other hand was the worst I've ever experienced. Waiter didn't say a single word while dealing with our order, but when it came to paying, he reminded us multiple times that the service is not included in the meal price
